Yahoooooooooooo, it is Friday! And wow, what a gorgeous day it is going to be! A little cool for me (70*) but sunshine all around.Caitlyn is on a field trip to Dorney Park for a Music Competition. After they are done competing, they get a few hours to go on the rides and stuff. Last year is poured buckets, so this year the weather is great.

I didn't get any yard work done when I got home from work yesterday but maybe I can get my butt moving and do some today. And I should take some pics of the different garden areas in my yard.
Anyone who wants to start a thread and share your garden, go for it!

No news on my brother yet- but now he and Christopher have a stomach bug :(

last night I stepping into the next stage of parenting.... when to let your teenage son go to a concert with his friends- no parents..... The Misfits are playing at a small club/ski resort a half hour from here. All age show/outdoor venue. Sounds perfect. But how do I let my baby get into a car with a bunch of teens? It turns out the driver is the older sister of one of the kids- she is 24, so Gary and I decided to let him go. But wow. That is going to be so hard, to wait until he gets home. Now I know why my mom would be reading on the sofa no matter what time I got in. Or how old I was.

The bottle of wine on my counter? Does that count? :cosmo:
I guess I have a bunch of bills to pay and wrap Scott's b-day presents. And get ready for his family party on Sunday.

xoxo!!!!

Quickie personals:

Laurie- woot on the strawberries-- keep those bunnies away! I had to laugh, I have lilies in the back yard and front yard. The ones in front are tall and gorgeous. The ones in the back and nibbled half way to the ground. Looks like they are yummy to the deer :)
How cool to be able to recognize all of the birds. I know next to nothing about birds although I saw the big woodpecker yesterday. Its got a red head, black wings with white stripes. he is very cool!

Eva- how did Sweden do??

Trudy- you are so sweet to me! Thanks for thinking I am young and pretty like Cait! **love** your advice to Nana!

Nana- OMG, I was just having this convo with a friend at the bus stop.
Feel better sweetie!!!!
My fingers are crossed as tight as can be that Traci is getting better every day.

Phyllis- you crack me up- every day.

To everyone who stops by, have a great one!!!

i love days like this. i have absolutely NO plans, and the weather is going to be fabulous.

cure for deer eating stuff in your yard: put some Louisiana RedHot Sauce in a spray bottle, dilute it with water, spray the foliage. this saves my Hostas every year. they take a bite, and unless they fancy a burning tongue, they learn FAST to avoid your plants.

Chris, can you imagine what it was like for our parents before cell phones?? it's hard to imagine. when my kids were still at home, i made them call me when they got to where they were going, then call me again when they were leaving. there is NOTHING so hard as putting them "out there" and having to wait at home.

Well ... my team Brynäs won the Swedish hockey leaugue this year - I'll take comfort for that. As for NHL: I'm a Toronto Maple Leaf fan :)

Morning ladies... I have to work a full day today= sore back, sore legs!! But its friday and a long weekend for us! The weather today is nice but as usual for the May long weekend it is supposed to rain :rain: Oh well, not much you can do about the weather!

Chris - Yikes!! It really is one of the hardest things to do, to watch your kids leave your protective custody! Hope he keeps in contact with you as to when he arrives and when he departs from his concert!! But hope that he has a safe and fun time!!
I see Phylis has started a thread about our gardens in May, so will try to get some photos tomorrow, my white clematis has decided to bloom!!

Eva - Sorry your team lost!! But so did mine :canada: You must be used to losing if you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan!!! LOL did I say that?? :becky: :sorry:

Phylis - Great recipe to keep the deer from eating your plants!! I will have to share that with my sister. She is plagued with deer in her yard! Me... no deer here, not sure why? but thats ok!! Hope you have a wonderful day in your beautiful backyard!!

Hope to spend lots of time here this weekend!! BBQ on Saturday at my hubby's boss house. Oh and BTW my hubby got his new job!! So will soon be retired from the RCMP and starting his new job at the Municipality this fall, horray for double dipping!!
