May 1!!!
Wow!!! There is so much going on today!! There is a happy birthday for 3 ladies, new May Challenges, new posting challenge, iNSD weekend (sales, lots of sales here!!). For me, it is also the beginning of Lyme Disease Awareness month (sorry in advance for anyone who is a Friend on FB. Actually-- not sorry, I hope to spread awareness/information about Lyme and the more people I can reach, the better.) and I am participating in Relay for Life as a Survivor at the end of the month. Add in all of the b-days and anniversaries this month and sheesh! It is going to get cah-ray-zeeeee!

Thankfully, my mood was somewhat better yesterday than on Wed. I didn't get the cards done like I had hoped. They have to be done today b/c I have a busy weekend. Tomorrow is my adorable godson's birthday party and Sunday my IL's are coming up for Gary's b-day. MIL is making the food, so I don't have to do too much for that. I feel really bad that I don't have anything for Gary as a gift. But we are going tomorrow to a local pet adoption so we are going to begin looking for a second dog.It is so impractical to do this, but we need some positive energy in this house. And dogs reduce blood pressure and stress/cortisol levels, and raise oxytocin levels- so that is a huge plus too :)

I had been dragging my feet on this since Christmas. Gary had given my that amazing sketch of my Babygirl who died 3 1/2 (is that right??? Seems like forever in so many ways) years ago and said that a new puppy was part of the gift. But it is time and hopefully the right dog will present herself to us.

So that is it from here. I am moving so slowly today, more than usual I think! It did NOT help that Gary forgot to set the coffee pot up last night and there was no coffee ready when I woke up. :fear:

I hope that you all have a fanTABulous day!

Astrid, yikes!! Your hubby better be careful with those fingers!!!

Trudy- Skyping with Mason is much more important than a post here. :) Hope that the lanes were not as busy as they were the day before.

Sharon- that is too funny about your convos being lines from movies and tv! Love it!

Dina- sounds like the flu is hitting you- I hope that you feel better!!! Sleep well!

Morning ladies... pretty quiet in here so far this morning! A beautiful sunny morning here and it sounds like it will stick around for the whole weekend!! Hooray! Not much happening here today. I got my mirror all finished, it turned out pretty good. But I should have kept it in another room last night, because I smelled fumes from it all night. :mmph:

Chris - I hope you find the perfect puppy and it brings you great joy!! I also hope that it does not cost you too much! Enjoy your coffee, I am sure you have made a nice big pot for yourself by now! I am off to the kitchen to get a cup myself. Such a busy time for you with all of these birthdays happening, hope you have a great time with your godson tomorrow, happy birthday to him and to your Gary!! Enjoy your visits!

Dina - Ugghh!! the flu is the worst!! Hope you are over it very soon and it doesn't take too much more out of you! Get well!! Take care of you!!

Hi to Sharon and to Jean, hope you manage to have a great day and get to be here for a bit today!!

Sunny today and warm enough (upper 50s?) to go out to dig dandelions and photograph things like violets in the grass and crabapple buds. Feels great even though my knee didn't like it. Have PT eval scheduled for June 1 for the knee so maybe some help coming.

Chris, Dear Abby has a letter on Lyme Awareness Month in the paper today! Bet that will help bring it to more people's notice. So hope a dog comes through for you and the family and the positive side wins out. Likewise with all the celebrations coming up.

Dina, hoping you feel much better soon.

Trudy, sounds like a nice weekend is coming for you. I think us too. I know you'll enjoy it.

Sharon, if Trudy has good weather, you probably do too. Enjoy.

I think I have to revisit Big Bend photos while Nancy is gone! We had a wonderful visit there in 1998.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day and weekend.

Yes! We have beautiful weather here again today. Almost wish I could be out on the golf course again. But usually when I have a wonderful game, I get high expectations and really blow it the next time out. Maybe a bike ride instead.

...or a nap. Woke up at 4:30 again. Distressed over how slow things are progressing for my DD re. the house. I wonder if Utah has more rules than Washington. This should have all been settled 2 weeks ago. The lender keeps asking them for things they've already sent AS MANY AS FOUR TIMES!

NOBODY at the pool when I arrived this morning. The lights weren't even turned on. Very eerie and pretty. I've got a plugged ear, so going to the doctor in a few minutes to see if it's anything serious. Hoping it is not swimming related, but with this timing, what are the odds?

Feeling overwhelmed with all the new May digi stuff. Downloaded and filed and tagged stuff already, but so many challenges. Glad I have a month to play with it all.

Bible study tonight. If I don't get a nap in this afternoon, I'm afraid I'll fall asleep. I think I'll bring my knitting. It's a no-brainer pattern, and if my fingers are busy, I will stay alert.

Emil Pakarkis is offering a new course on editing iPhone photos, covering what he believes are the best apps. Another expensive course, but I have benefited SO MUCH from the iPhone Photo Academy, and have even learned lots of good stuff from his free video "teasers," that I'm trying to decide if I should bring it up with DH. We always discuss purchases of this magnitude, and I've gotta say, he almost always "indulges" me with my hobby wishes. The only thing we can't agree about is getting another pet! And I know he is right. We travel too much to have one.

Off I go to the doctor.

HAGD!
