I am starting to feel like I live in the PNW! We are back to another few days of chilly rain.:rain: :suspicious:
Our basement still had water yesterday so it looks like we are going to get more this weekend. I can't believe that it is the last day of March. What a crazy month and year-to-date. Politics/weather/health/money all rolled into one. Oh, and computer issues. Now my computer is doing this weird thing that when I boot up, it freezes but not really. My screensaver works, but I can't open any programs. I reboot and it will work perfectly. The issue of not being able to switch between tabs seems to have resolved itself. But one things os working and another one stops.
Cripes! I need a vacation!

Gary and I worked together on the kitchen cabinet a bit. He found and old small wall shelf of Caitlyn's and hung that up inside so I have another area to store things. And we found out that we have a lot of cans of soup. A lot. Like a crazy amount! We might just have to have that for dinner tonight. Maybe I will break out the bread machine to "sweeten the deal" so I don't get too many complaints.

Today is the day for the F-W's class. I am as ready as I am going to be. But sheesh, I am nervous and I don't think that I should be. I always get a bit nervous doing something new and I have become quite the hermit lately. I am actually becoming my mom, not wanting to try new things or isolating myself to be only with family. *eye opener right there* Ok. Now that I know I am doing this, I am going to have to make more attempts to break out of it.
I got this.

I do. And I will keep telling myself this until I figure it out!!

After I got everything all prepped and printed for today, I spent some time with NBK's background paper challenge. I haven't scrapped the LO yet, but I had a *lot* of fun creating my paper. If you haven't done this one yet, you should.

Today Gary and I have a special date planned.
We are going to get our blood drawn together. Isn't that romantic? *swoon*
Then I am going to have to keep myself calm until 2 pm when I head over to my friend's house. I *know* that I am 100% overthinking this. I am batty.

Who has fun plans today? I hope that you all have a great Friday!

we are going to get more this weekend.Save

Trudy- sorry that you weren't able to make it on your hike because of the rain. An hour on the treadmill?? Whoa!!! You are rockin' it!!!! WTG!
I know the feeling that I have been a bad Cheery O too. Either I get sidetracked or I comment in the Gallery and then I feel like all I say is "Stunning LO" or "Love your blending" and I get bored with myself. I need to think of new words LOL
What did they think of the house? How exciting. Two more months until the baby comes? Do they want to be in before that?

Nancy- I am going to have to add Hidden Figures to my To Read list. Those women were heroes and of course, no one learns about them in US History classes. I am reading Imbeciles and the Sterilization of Carrie Buck, which is about the US sterilization program/eugenics in the early 1900's. I just got to the part where the author introduces the background on Oliver Wendell Holmes and I always thought he was a "good guy" Supreme Ct Justice. He is not at all. History is so fascinating to me.
My kids were recounting a story that my mom had told them about having a black friend in the 50's. She borrowed my mom's lipstick and my mom threw it out right after. My kids were appalled and I had to remind them that "whites and coloreds" weren't allowed to drink at the same water fountains, let alone share a lipstick.
Anyway- I am on my soapbox tangent again, aren't I?
Hope that you made it through food shopping ok and that you and Luther got outside. I can't believe that your forsythia is blooming. Mine is slightly green but that it is.

Rae- I cleaned out most of my fridge the other day, it looks so sad when it is empty. Good luck on getting the meats you need at decent prices. You are killing it too with the weight loss. You deserve some new skinny clothes, if you ask me.:D

Sharon- hope DD is doing better by now.

Hugs to all of you!

good morning - well today is a sad day for me as my favorite NJ Devils player Patrik Elias is retiring. I kept hoping he would come back but he said that his injury and his heart just was not in it to face the grind. He turned 40 and was a Devil for 22 years and won two Stanley Cups with the team. It is just as much as I know things change I will miss him. They are having him drop the puck on Tuesday's game and then on Saturday's game he will skate warm-ups for a last lap and Friday he will be at the Open Practice to which I will be attending. They will retire his Jersey next season. He leads the Devils in points, goals and assists. The Devils have two games this weekend but both are away. It is rainy here in NJ but my DH got Luther out but not sure I will as it is cold out too. Yes I am wimpy when it comes to rain. But on a fun note my friend Doug has started using the meal delivery system Blue Apron. And he cracks me up, to save him money he sent me a link and I got a free week. Well they send everything for 3 meals for two people. They have all the ingredients and they are small amounts so that you don't go to the grocery store and have to buy huge amounts that go to waste. One chicken, one fish and one beef dinner and it comes with veggies. I looked at the recipes and they are pretty easy. And they are not things that I would ever make if not for this. So I am going to try the fish dinner tonight I think. It is a fish stew so that should be warm and hearty on a rainy day. The fact I don't have to shop is also an amazing thing! I did make it through grocery shopping and bought yummy ice cream as my reward. I found a flavor that I thought my DH would like and boy did he. He almost ate the whole container, Black raspberry chocolate chip. My DH is staying home today to get all the paper work ready to take to our accountant to do our taxes. We pay so no need to do it early and since we pay I doubt anyone wants to steal our ids LOL.

Chris I know it is easy for me to say but relax you will be awesome! They will love you! And I would be a bit nervous too but those are good nerves! And glad you are not being like your mom and getting out of your comfort zone. This is so funny but I too am home body but having Luther has gotten me out and I have met so many nice people who also walk their dogs. Enjoy your blood date your DH. Funny date but time alone to and from will be nice. And I cannot believe this is the last day of March.

Trudy so sorry that you could not hike! Saw your March pages. Loved seeing your kids. They looked like they had a great visit. And OMgosh that little restaurant you found looked so cute and the scenery was beautiful.

Rae I agree with Chris you deserve some new clothes but I understand waiting as Kohls does have great sales. Continued success. I don't even think of going to a butcher for meats just go to the grocery store. My son says there is an awesome Polish meat store in his town and he says their bacon is the best and they have all weird kinds of jerky. I think he could spend his whole paycheck in that store and then spend the week grilling or smoking his purchases. Hope you (know I know you) will find the best deals. Hope you got out and not too much rain.

Sharon hope your daughter is doing much better and you both are getting sleep.

Have a great last day of March!

Morning ladies... quickly popping in here to say hello and then I am off to help my sister do some garden clean up at her place. She has a huge property and its a lot of work for her to do on her own! Her DH is still working full time, just like mine they will probably never retire LOL. She even pays me, although I tell her she does not have to. It will be great exercise for me! It is another nice morning out there so hopefully it continues for the whole day!

Chris - I know that you will do an awesome job with your demo for the Girls! Hope you get some pictures, so you can scrap a page about your experience! Good for you for trying to get out there more! I am becoming a bit of hermit myself and really don't get out that much and pretty much stay to myself. Most of my old friends live quite far from me, but I am happy doing things on my own and know that if I need my friends that they will always be there for me. Sadly Heather and Jonah are going to pass on this house that they saw. It is an older house, very well built and in a perfect location, but it needs a lot of renos done, the electrical will all have to be replaced to bring it up to code etc. There were 8 showings the day that they went to see it and already numerous offers on the house, so most likely it will sell way above asking price. The realtor told them not to be discouraged, the right house will come up for them and selling season is just getting started. Where they live is a desirable place as its close to Stratford and people are moving there because the commute is not bad and the taxes and housing is half of what it is like in Stratford. I only hope that they find something they love and close to the school. They are not in a hurry and will make their little place work until they find that right house. Baby is due at the beginning of July so they have a few months still if they decide to move before the baby comes.

Nancy - Sad for your Devils team and for you to lose your favourite player! But probably the best decision for him if his health is at risk! I don't blame you for not going out in the rain for your walk, I don't mind the rain as long as its not really chilly outside also. I need to get a better raincoat, then perhaps I would go on the hikes still, my raincoat is old and not the great it doesn't cover my behind, so I get very chilled LOL. Thanks for the nice compliment on my pages! Yes that restaurant was a great little place and getting busier every year, especially in the summer when all the sailboats are out and looking for a place to dock for the night and enjoy a nice dinner or lunch. They will soon have to expand to accommodate everyone.

Rae - Wish I could say that i need new clothes! Mine are getting lose but not quite ready for a whole new wardrobe yet. My weight is not coming off as rapidly as yours, wish I new what else to do, I have tried what has been suggested but seem to be stuck at the same weight this past week. I know that I have to patient and it will come. Really enjoying the new meals that we are making and hubby is loving it too!! It will be great to go shopping at Kohls and find new clothes for your now oh so skinny body!! I would be jumping for joy if I were you LOL!! Hope your work day is not too heavy and that you enjoy your friday!

Alright I better get some things done around the house before meeting up with my sister. Have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I just watched a morning youtube broadcast from my fave keto video lady, Casey. She is full of information and thoughts about keto. It's a great way to start my day and reinforce what I am doing. I had a small what they call a non-scale victory this morning....I tried on the pants I bought super cheap (I've mentioned them before) to sort of judge how my body is changing and this morning they fit perfectly. So in 6 wks they went from being about 5-6" apart from zipping up to comfortably zipping up today. Yay. Ok, enough about that b/c I bet you get sick of hearing it LOL.

I lucked out yesterday. The sky was clear so I headed out at 5:00 to take Taz to the dog park and then popped into the grocery store to grab some greens and a deli chicken for a qiuck dinner. I walked by the meat dept and I saw the sale sign but no hamburger was left. I started walking by and the back door opened and a fellow came out with four big packs to put out, I stopped him and said I'd take them. So I got four huge packs of hamburger for more than 1/2 off. When I was at the cashier, she asked where the heck did I get those from? She said about 7 people had asked her if there was any left b/c they couldn't find any. So I sure lucked out. I packaged them up after dinner and figured it worked out to be about $2 a meal for us. I'm going to pop in again in a few hours b/c I have to go pay our yearly utility bill...ugh....don't know why we have to pay almost $1000 for crappy service here, and yet every year it goes up.

Today I'll be out running lots of little errands and hopefully pop into the dog park again if the weather holds.

Chris - I know the girls are going to love your class. Ha ha....going together to get your blood work together...sure...so romantic....about as romantic as hubs and I spending a wkend morning together bringing recycling back to the depot and then going to pick up prescriptions and dry cleaning LOL. That's our world :)

Nancy - sad to lose a fave player but hopefully the next phase of his career will be enjoyable for him. That's interesting about the food delivery. It sounds like a great way to try new recipes that you might otherwise not make.

Trudy - too bad they didn't like the house but the good thing is everytime you see one that is wrong for you, makes the right one seem all that better when you find it. Get some good exercise with the garden cleanup and enjoy the fresh air. I need to get out in mine to clean it up too. Maybe over the wkend if the weather stays clear.

Off I go to get some work done and want to pop into the birthday forum to see how things are winding down. I can't believe the particpation...it's been amazing to see! Have a great day, everyone.

Hello everyone. i haven't been on the computer for days it feels like. DD is doing well. She went to the doctor and they said her eyes are healing nicely. Also I have contractor in the house doing some remodeling so it has been crazy around here. I had a leak in bedroom window, so my contractor looked at it and it turns out when I had my roof done 4 years ago, the people who installed it didn't know how to properly fit the shingles around the tabs in the gutters, so now I have several places that need to be re roofed. So mad.
