Ready for the weekend? I am sure that everyone is getting busy with Easter Celebrations or perhaps Hurry Up Spring ones. That's where I am, it's been too cold and dreary for too long and my mood seems to have shifted down. It could be the stress of ~~~ all of this~~~ or the weather or both. My money is on both but either way, I'm not feeling the best. I had one more big stressor yesterday and while everything is ok-ish, it still has me thrown for a loop.
So much for having a quiet week and getting stuff done. Pfft.

I did one good thing-- I made the appt with my GP! I came close to bailing on it but I persisted LOL When I called, the office wasn't sure they took my new insurance. They recently changed their umbrella health system and my carrier was on one of the accepted insurance co lists but not the other. I had to contact my insurance with the Dr's tax ID# to confirm before I made the appt. I thought that I was going to give up at any of those additional steps, but I didn't. yay me! I have an appt for next Friday.

I have nothing in particular on the schedule for today but I have to do some things, wish I could figure out *what.* I should make the dog treats today. I baked sweet potatoes the other night so I have the leftovers to use. I should get myself over to TJ MAXX. I ordered some clothes online and two pairs of pants were my size but enormous when I tried them on. I need a new pair of jeans and I love this one brand they carry(D's Jeans). The boot cut was at least 6-8" too long, guess I have to stick to their skinny jeans style.

It is Color Play Day and I scrapped one page, that's it. I can't get myself into scrapping mode ATM. It stinks because the ColorPlays are just as amazing as always.

Anyway, let me wrap this up-- Hugs!

@vickyday has the sun come out yet? Still cloudy and cold in NJ but if the sum comes out later, we might warm up to 50.
Yeah, Tindamax is a strong antibiotic and not only causes a string herx reaction but has nasty side effects. I call it the abx from H***.
I haven't even gotten my bird bath from the side of the house after it fell over into poison ivy last summer. The rain sure would keep it filled if I had.
I hope that the motorcycle ride doesn't hurt your back at all. A trip to DQ sounds like the perfect test run :D

@bcgal00 How long will Jen be away? Do your pups notice when Bella is away too?
I didn't see any new pictures on FB (grrr- algorithms :( ), time to stalk you so I can see them. If you pick up any helpful tips on using binoculars, please share. I'm still struggling with mine.
We will miss your LOs and photos if you don't scrap as much but I know we are super happy that you are busy with new friends and activities. ♥

@BrightEyes hope you soaked up that beautiful weather yesterday. It sounds like a perfect day!
Don't push yourself with the housework especially if your knee is acting up.
Sorry, I tend to put any illness with headache and fever into "It's a cold" basket. Glad that you are feeling back to normal.

@Cherylndesigns The woman from the hospice company is an angel on earth. Anyone who works in that business and "enjoys" it must have a calling. It had to be reassuring and comforting to talk with her.
Bah--- I used to make stuff to sell at craft fairs. If I made the table back it would be a miracle. if I had a dollar for everyone who came by and said they could get the same thing at the dollar store- I would have made *more* than the table cost. Maybe it was my area, but I barely broke even. I switched to doing a Holiday Open House here and then only my family would show up and I gave up.

Vicky- great to hear that your back was good on the ride! How was the DQ? :D

It ended up being a beautiful day yesterday and promises to be the same today. Warmer today however. I didn't end up getting to walk, but I plan on doing it today. Mark charged the bike battery and it started right up. We're going to try to ride this afternoon since it is supposed to be 70*! We went out to eat yesterday so today will be DQ hopefully on the bike!

Good morning!
A beautiful day in the forecast for today but it is chilly now. We plan to take the bike out this afternoon. My plan is to go to DQ!

Nothing else going on. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good morning ladies. Had a nice evening at the legion, went to Thursday game night and played hand and foot canasta with D. Chatted with the regulars and they loved seeing a few pics of the penguins from our trip. This afternoon I have a hair trim, other than that I will do some housework, laundry and continue organizing photos. Over the years, some folders have been moved into other folders (by accident somehow). My photo files are very large so moving them around is time consuming.

I'm starting season 3 of Ozark and will be sorry when it ends, it is so well done.

@faerywings To answer your question about the binoculars...I got Celestron Nature 8 x 42 binoculars. I went with 8 x rather than 10 x magnification because I wear glasses and 8 is recommended for that (for eye strain), also I have a bit of hand shake so 8 is recommended for that too. I like the wider field of vision on the 8 rather than the narrower (but closer) field of vision on the 10. The 8 x 42 is a recommended size for birding. They are not too heavy too which is good b/c I will be carrying a backpack and camera too so don't want to overdo it. The ones I got are mid range in price. If I was only using binoculars for viewing and not taking photos too I would have paid a bit more and got really good ones but I feel at this point it's not necessary.

@vickyday Temps of 70 sounds wonderful. We will hit 60 next wk but only for a day. Our weather sure fluctuates a lot here. Enjoy the bike ride.

I'm going to go post my LOs and get back to some photo folder organization. HAGD everyone!

Morning, all. I was up until 11PM getting some of the Color Play LOs done and uploaded to the galleries. WOW... they are all so beautiful this month. Got 5 uploaded last night and a couple more uploaded this morning. Plus I uploaded one of Over The Moon Add-On - traditional page using fantasy elements and paper. And that pushed my CT tracking to a 2nd page!!!

It is going to be another warm day but with more wind. Messaged son Jim... they arrived in Las Vegas on 27th. They are busy getting a few things from storage that they will need. They should be heading my way today or tomorrow. Glad I was able to get Color Play LOs done and uploaded before they arrive.

LOL... I hardly ever have a headache with a cold... usually it is stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing, and chest congestion. Yes, I was pretty good yesterday and stayed off my feet working on the computer or in the recliner reading. The knee is still 'iffy' so another day with the brace on it. So proud of you for following up through all the steps to get your GP appointment!!! And that was Quick!!!

@vickyday Hope your back is okay when you try out the bike ride. I think a trip to DQ is perfect!!! LOL - used to tease my hubby that his car had a DQ finder on it as we usually stopped at one when he was driving!! :D

@bcgal00 What is hand and foot canasta??? I used to play just regular canasta with my grandmother... she was a fiend at that and Chinese Checkers. Glad you are happy with the new binoculars. I have the ones from DH... he bought them when he was in the Navy and used them when he was on the aircraft carrier. I am loving seeing all the bird photos you have been putting on FB. With all the photos you took on the last cruise, I can understand why it takes so long to sort through them.

Ooops, I forgot to turn up the heat this morning... need it warmer than 65F before I take a shower!!! HAGD

Our weather has fluctuated pretty much here, too! And it could through April and into May! So we hit the road as much as possible when it is going to reach mid 60s - 70s!

HA! It will be a trip to DQ or Dairi-O which is about the same as DQ but only here in NC. The owner is a friend of Mark's. I sure hope I have no repercussions to my back with the ride!

Glad you asked Rae @bcgal00 about the canasta as I forgot to. My mom and dad were big Canasta players. Even taught my kids how to play when they would spend a week with them during the summer. It has been so long since I played that I would have to learn all over again.

Good almost afternoon, at least it will be by the time I'm finished posting. I did more Color Plays that I intended to - but NOT 15 like a few months ago. The problem is we can only post 5 a day, so I feel that's unfair to the designers. This month worked out great because a few of them were posted last night (a good thing about being a night owl), so I got 3 of them posted before midnight. That leaves another 5 for me today. I wanted to do more and probably will because I'm in love with the bright color palette this month!

I hear you about trying to sell things. Some things sell and others don't. I made jewelry years ago and the first Fall Festival I went to, people were swarming my booth. I made so much money. The next year, it was eh.............then you'll see somebody selling some goofy right down from you. My parents used to do a lot of festivals and they never could get over what was "hot". Yes, those Hospice people are angels on earth. She wanted to invite me to a "Celebration of Life" next month. They do a Remembrance Ceremony for all of the Hospice patients who have passed away in the last year and they read all of the names. Adrienne, Ava, Aly and I are going so I hope we don't blubber too much.

Good for you for making that appt yesterday. I have to take a bow because I have been procrastinating on returning calls from the insurance company. They called 3 times yesterday (unknown numbers) and left voicemails and said they were there 24/7 so last night when I got home from dinner, I "bit the bullet" and called them back. I couldn't believe it - they were ALL surveys asking how happy we were with UHC and asking if there was any way they could improve. It was all computer generated and every call, from a different number, was the SAME thing!!! Geesh!! Just leave me alone, people.

When you get three calls in one day and they all leave VM's you think that something is wrong. I'm still sorting out a few things and I always panic and think that something has fallen through the cracks. I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. It's nuts - it's 2024 already!! This isn't rocket science. GRRRRRRRR

I'm going to scoot and get the rest of my CPs posted here and all over Social Media. Happy Friday and HAGD.

Thanks, Vicky. It's insane. I get one letter saying "We're so sorry for your loss" and it there are any claims that come in to please submit them. Then I get a letter saying that I have to send a certified copy of a letter that somebody else has to witness, proving that my husband died before they can release any information. How nuts is that? You dummies, I told you that and have confirmation from almost 3 months ago. It's just crazy! I got a call today from one of the same numbers that contacted me yesterday. This is a huge insurance company - scary!

Yes, it is. The phone calls started again today. It's pretty scary when a major health care company is so disorganized. I hope I get an opportunity to tell somebody how I really feel. Not that it will change anything, but hopefully, I'll get a chance to give them feedback. When I talked to the director from Hospice, she said she wished she could say that my experiences were isolated, but they're not. She hears these things over and over again. It's such a tough time, anyway, being in grief, then having all of this "stuff" to deal with. I had a leg up because Chuck was so organized - he had everybody to notify and their phone numbers, ID numbers, etc. That hasn't helped me too much, unfortunately. Something really needs to be done.

As far as I'm concerned, you should be able to present a death certificate and that should set the ball in motion! End of story! GRRR!

Funny (not funny) story - nobody from UHC has even requested a death certificate. How bizarre is that????? The funeral director told me to "buy" yes they're not free - 6 of them and only one entity so far has requested one up front - GM. SS hasn't and I don't talk with them until April 2nd. The Medigap hasn't; Delta Dental hasn't and I could go on. That would be WAY too simple. Grrrrrrr is right.

Yeah. I was instructed to get 10 of the death certificates when I was at the funeral home. They provided them to me, no charge! I still have most of them, too! I was only asked for a couple of them. I think I mailed one to the life insurance people (after he already started the process since he knew us personally) and SS.

They're not free anymore - nothing is. I still have all of the original copies. The life insurance co accepted a copy that I uploaded to them.

It may depend upon where you live and the funeral home you use as to whether there is a fee for the Death Certificates or not. I was advised to get at least 6 DCs (another one that was marked for Social Security that was free) so I ordered 10. Some of insurance and investment companies wanted an original DC but some others would take a copy. I still have a few original DC left. Believe it or not, when we went to help Mom sell her house, we had to have an original DC of my Dad's death and he had died 16 years before! So hang on to those DC as you family might need them later on.
