Ok ladies- I am going to need a bit of a boost today. I am in a bit of a funky mood. (just a bit, you ask??? LOL)
As you all know and have heard me complain all winter, the weather is getting to me. Cabin fever, non-stop cold and of course, all of the snow. It is The Shining: New Jersey Style. Throw is the insanity of the political landscape- which has gotten *way* worse for the nation and world in the last 24 hours. News that Scott's best friend's dad passed away last night. News of Bailey and what Rae is dealing with. The awareness of how life can be so short is weighing on me. I want to throw up my hands and ask what is the point anymore?
But it is a good thing I am too darn stubborn to give up. hahaha!!!!!
Right now, I am sad for Scott's friend. His dad was diagnosed with (Stomach?) cancer a couple of months ago and it looked like he was going to be ok, then the oral chemo didn't work and by the time they figured that out, there was no point in doing IV chemo. They had given him 2 weeks but he didn't last that long.
Leah has been talking to him a lot but at the same time this brings up a lot of s*** for her, having lost her dad to colon cancer. Scott is struggling because he has been friends with Ian since they were in 7th grade. He is sad for him and for Leah and he doesn't know how to handle it all. He says he isn't empathetic usually so he doesn't know what to do with emotions. I said to Cait this morning that he is actually extremely empathetic but cut himself off from it to protect himself.
I have been feeling like the ground is constantly shifting under my feet and it seems to be only getting worse. I wish that I could wrap my house and family with bubble wrap and not have to deal with the world ever again.
Of course, knowing my family they would have so much fun popping the bubbles that it would be "unwrapped" in no time. :rofl:
So my dear O-Zies-- who has some good, positive things to share?
I can start off with 2 things:
#1- Leah also got accepted into NYU's master's program! WTG Leah! My girl is smart!
#2 It is National Puppy Day!!!
and #3-- ::grouphug
xoxoxo
