It's Friday!!

How are you all doing? I am doing pretty OK if I do say so myself. Especially since all of the weather forecasts are calling for snow tonight into tomorrow. Possibly 3-6" so not a lot, but just enough to make me aggravated. (it doesn't take much, eh? *G*)
My mom and I had a nice time together. Most of it was spent helping her with her phone. Her phone is very basic and has very little internal storage. It has needed an update for months but she didn't have enough free space for it. Nor did she know how to delete files. I deleted a bunch of videos that she made trying to take a picture- 25 seconds of her feet, and 10 seconds of someone's chair. But I got the update installed and that will run for a few months until she needs to make more room and I'll delete some more junk files again :)

We went to the diner for lunch and Scott met us there for a few minutes at the end. It made her day to see him. He was running errands in town and got all of his paperwork submitted so he can start training with the Search and Rescue Team. Sunday he is off on a 7-day work trip to get Certified as Wilderness First Responder. Man, I am soooo freaking proud of him. :heartpumplove:
Since I can't brag about him without bragging about Caitlyn, yesterday she told me that she had been interviewed by one of the Peer Advisors (Undergrad). The Peer Advisor needed to interview a person that they looked to as a role model in their field of study and she picked Cait.
(I'm sorry. I hated it when I was a kid having to listen to my one uncle brag about his kids nonstop and here I am doing the same thing)

I am taking J to the vet this morning - just a checkup. I'll find out how overweight she is, feel guilty about it, then be at a loss on what to do. She eats a weight control kibble, only gets a spoonful of wet food at dinner, and I limit treats. She needs walks, but she *hates* them. *shrugs*

Not a lot of people voted but I am going to bring back the "themes" for the Daily Ooos. Remember, no stress, no one has to answer unless they feel like it. Feel free to sit in the corner and throw grapes at me.

FiF - Finish it Friday
What project do you have that needs to be finished? A big one or something small- either way, what do you want to cross off the To-Do List?

One thing that I *want* to finish is organizing the photos that are scanned and box them up to return to my mom. I am mostly done with the 1960s and 3/4 done with the 70s, If I can knock that out, that will be awesome. My brother is interested in seeing them so I want them ready by next time I see my mom.

BTW, that scene from Overboard was one of my favorites "But I like it when she goes buh buh buuh" :giggle4:

@Nonni F
I hear ya, Sister! Preach it! #italiangirlissues
That explains sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!! :floorlaugh: So you grew up in a Traditional Italian (Catholic I presume) family? So you understand my obsessions with food and guilt? *snorts!!!! :lol23:
My grandmother called me "The Girl." Thankfully, my grandma on my mom's side was a pretty progressive thinker and she loved us all equally.

@vickyday Great news that your head and tummy cooperated! Hope you made it through the entire day.

@bcgal00 hahah! You voted for #3, I don't; blame you, I would have voted the same way LOL
Thanks for the boots brands. I'll look for them too. I was talking more to Scott and he gave me more advice (some of what T already suggested). Did you take Remi on a hike yesterday? You are so lucky that she has such an easygoing disposition if a bit noodgey when she wants to go outside :p I bet the birds are happy in the homes you have outside.

Have a wonderful day, my lOves!

So, you were a kid when you didn't like hearing your uncle brag? I, personally, LOVE hearing a proud momma brag about her kids! I think adults are more tolerant of the bragging than kids who aren't the ones being bragged on! You have some great kids with great accomplishments in their young lives! Brag on, sister!!! ;)

Good Morning!
It is a chilly, wet 48* here this morning! Mark is in the woods (bet that surprises ya, huh? ;). )
I have a make-up date with Ilene today to go to COSTCO, which I will be leaving for in less than an hour. We will eat lunch at Olive Garden first. It is near COSTCO, so that is where we go for lunch when we are in that area of town. It is a crazy mall area, and that is the nearest COSTCO in our neck of the woods, otherwise we would not be going over there! It is what it is!

I did get the poncho set finished. I tried to find something pink or purple at Walmart yesterday to go underneath it in a 6 month size. Have you looked at baby stuff lately? The colors are WEIRD, IMHO! Ugly, actually! I found very few things that I liked. I did find a few light pink bottoms that momma will have to get some tops for that would be suitable. I took the poncho to the store with me to determine what size I should buy. 6 months is what I was shooting for when I made the outfit, so I was glad to see that I got that right! I bought a few one piece sleeper type things that could be used with the poncho, too, along with some socks, etc. I love going to baby showers!
Here's the web-size version of the layout I did (Use it All challenge): The outfit turned out pretty.
So-Lucky.jpg

OK. The bed is made, the dish washer is emptied and I need to get off of here and get ready to leave in about 30 minutes.

HAGD!

Good morning. I don't know what I've done this week...or where I've been. I've been very busy. That's all I know. LOL

Shaun is off on spring break today. He went to his 6:00 crossfit class and I was up when he came home. He decided that I needed to get out for a walk and I said that I didn't want to walk alone. So he went with me. Made me so happy that I didn't even mind the walk. Sydney has to volunteer (has to volunteer...almost an oxymoron) in the lab until 3 this afternoon. Then she'll be home after that.

The people are coming to look at our house at 5:30. That means people and dogs will be gone. I will stay since we don't have a lockbox on the house for realtors. I don't even know what I hope the outcome will be. o_O

Need to figure out flights for Sydney. She talked to an advisor yesterday and they said that there are a total of 10 kids. They are supposed to have a meeting sometime when she gets back after break. Ugh...

I have a layout that I need to get loaded...maybe more than one.

Good morning ladies. I am heading out to costco in a bit, Jen wants to come. I was so tired last night after our 2.5 hr hike. I'm not used to hiking that long now. I'd better start doing it more now that the weather will be warming up and the ice is disappearing. At my age, the stamina wanes if you don't keep it up. I'll be back...Remi is softly talking to me and reminding me that it is time to go feed the birds and play hockey with her in the yard. I'll be back in a bit.

Popping for a quick update... Jim and Alyn arrived Tues evening. Chari came down for dinner with us on Wednesday evening. Jim and Alyn left to head home before noon on Thursday. Jeff was a sweetheart and bought a take-out Mexican supper for us last night. He is off skiing today and will leave early tomorrow morning. It was wonderful having them here. But the bad news is the back, hips were really acting up as was both hands swollen with arthritis ... and every thing is the same today. The kids did all the cooking, cleaning, etc while I sat in the recliner most of the time. I get up and move around about every hour so I don't get too stiff. I see the Neurologist PA on Monday and will talking to her about what is going on. DD#1 comes in on Wed and she is renting a car so I don't have to go to the airport to pick her up. Glad she will be here to help me out for almost a week.
Can't stay on the computer any longer... will update once I find out what the doc says.

I'm back. I should recorded her, Remi was sitting beside me, nudging my leg and softly talking to me. No loud barking, no jumping up, just politely telling me to go do my job i.e. feed the birds and play hockey with her in the yard.

The dogs loved their hike yesterday and came home full of mud. Everyone had to hop in the shower. I need to take pics of my two standing side by side to shower together. Maybe next time I'll remember.

@faerywings You should be proud of S, he is quite remarkable and ditto for C. You really have great kids! I hope the vet has some advice about J's weight.

FiF - I have a million projects that need to be finished. A few are - organize photos onto an EHD, organize and scan photographs, scrap our Alaska photos for an album...those are just off the top of my head. I know there are more.

@vickyday We're going to costco today too. I wish we had an olive garden here, I used to love going to the one in WA when we had our place over there. Do they still have endless salad and breadsticks? Love their house dressing. The knitted set is so cute.

@LSlycord Good for you for getting out for a walk. Fingers crossed about the open house. It was a hassle to have to leave with the dogs for our showings but luckily it sold very quickly. I wish the same for you.

@BrightEyes Sorry you are having a flare today. Glad your daughter will be coming next week and can help you out.

I need to hop in the shower and ready to head out. HAGD everyone.

Good Morning ladies!! Happy Friday to all of you! It is a grey morning, but it kind of matches my mood LOL. I have to have blood work done this morning and I am missing having my morning coffee!! #annoyed #coffee1Its not fair that you have to start the day with no coffee!! Hoping for the lab results to come back just fine. I feel really good, probably better than I did when I was in my 50's!! Well I have been on face time with Hunter and Mason for almost an hour lol it is taking forever to get this post finished and I am really missing my coffee now!! They are heading off to the city to spend two nights at a hotel with pool, hot tub and waterslides. The boys are so excited!! It is now time for me to get dressed and head out the door for my appt. I am back and a little mad at my Doctor for not telling me that I did not need to fast before these lab tests grrrrr!! Oh well I guess I should have asked her, so my bad too!! Anyway I am feeling happier now that I have had some brunch and my coffee!! #coffee-2 I might need another one very soon LOL. Well yesterday I was MIA all day as I went with SIL Linda to Nanaimo for her eye appointment. Turns out she didn't need to have a driver and she was in and out from her appointment in under 10 minutes. I could have gone to the pool :(. She apologized for making me get up at 6am, but it was all ok as we managed to get in a visit and a cup of tea with DH's and her Aunt Betty. I haven't seen her since the beginning of Covid. It was so great to have a visit with her!! :groupchat: She is such a wonderful lady!! She is still the same lovely woman that I remember. She hugged me for so long I thought she might never let me go :giggle4:. Then it was off to Costco and then we had lunch at SIL Linda's boyfriends place. He called and asked if we wanted to have hot dogs and sit around his fire pit, well how could we say no! Glad I was not the driver as I got to have a glass of wine with my lunch :heartpumplove:. By the time we got back it was late in the afternoon and so I got our supper ready to go and DH and I watched the Bruins game. Sadly they lost to the Edmonton Oilers . Oh well you can't win them all. Then it was off to bed early as I was worn out LOL :bedtime:. So this afternoon I have to run to my fav little craft store and pick up a few things that I ordered.

@faerywings - Brag away my faery friend!! You kids are awesome and you have every reason to be very proud of them!! My Finish it Friday thing to do is get SIL Linda's birthday gift done. Then start on a card for her. Her birthday is the 26th so I need to get that out of the way as there are so many other things to get done this month. I love that movie "Overboard" I think I have watched it at least a dozen times! Sorry I did not vote on your thread, but you know I would go along with whatever you do!!

@bcgal00 - I hope you build up your stamina for your hikes! Our last one was 4 hours and we had to trudge through some pretty deep snow it was hard work! I bet Remi sounds so cute as she tries to convince you to get out to feed the birds! :lovey3:. I hope that your shopping trip to Costco is not too busy, it sure was nice to go on a Thursday for me yesterday. quieter , less stressful than going on the weekend!

@vickyday - So glad that you are headache free and wow I just love that sweet little outfit you made!! Hope you have a wonderful time at the baby shower! Still jealous that you have an Olive Garden, all of ours are closed since Covid. :(

@BrightEyes - Awww Kay, so sorry to hear that you are still having such pain with Arthur!! It sounds like you all had a wonderful visit and so nice that your other DD will be there to help you out for awhile! Hope the pain subsides soon!! Sending you lots of healing vibes and hugs :hug2:.

@LSlycord - Say WHAT??? You are showing your house again?? When did this happen?? Did I miss that post?? How nice that Shaun joined you for the walk and so exciting for Syd to be planning her flights for her trip. You are a busy lady!! Hope you enjoy spring break with your family!!

Well now its time to get some lunch for DH and then think of what the heck to have for supper, sheesh it never ends!!! #crazy
Have a great afternoon everyone! :waving1

I lived with Ilene after my DH died (and before I got married again) and we frequently went to Olive Garden for their soup, salad and breadsticks for lunch. It is one of our favorite places to eat! We also really love Ruby Tuesday's HUGE salad bar!

Just realized I forgot about the FiF.....
I think the only thing I am going to Finish today is posting the info from my latest layouts into the CT Tracker thread. The baby shower is tomorrow, so I have nothing else to finish on that project!
I do need to "finish" decluttering at some point.......but that ain't happening' today, for sure! Not after spending an hour in COSTCO and then another hour playing butcher for all of the meat I bought today! Time to play! ;)

It was a huge deal when we were kids when we were taller than Nona. Which usually hit around ten as she was only 4'11'' I'm the one standing in the back. The rest were are my cousins.
