OSCRAPS!!!!

I can't believe that it is Oscraps' 17th birthday! Vicki is way too young to have a 17 yo. :rotfl:
I love the parties here and I know that the Cheery Os and Designers have some really awesome things in store. I started with the Avatar Pre-Party Challenge but It needs tweaking since you can't read the text. I keep forgetting that the avatars are round with the "new" forum settings. New-- as in at least 2 years old.

Good news about the air quality- it's a lot better, still not great but I don't want to rip my eyes out so far today. Scott's job is offering masks for the rangers to wear when they are at the parks. Although I am not sure what good it will do him at this point, after being outside earlier this week. or if he would even wear it, guess it depends on how bad it is later this afternoon.
Last night was a Search and Rescue meeting and they asked him to lead a section for the next training session. He is going to teach techniques on survival fire building, using things you would have in your backpack as a firestarter, like rope or nylon, that you wouldn't ordinarily use. It was only his third meeting so he's pretty excited that they want him involved like that.

After dinner, we finished the Lego Pirate Ship. We'd been working on it since January. It's very cute, especially the little pirates on deck. Scott got Gary a Star Wars TV set to work on next.

No plans today other than to make sense of the mess on my desk. I have stuff piled up everywhere. Didn't I *just* tidy it all? Coulda sworn I did. ;)
I also have to water my plants really well, it was too yucky to be outside the last few days and did minimal watering. Somebody (I'm thinking it is the chipmunks) has been pulling the flowers off of my gazanias and then leaving them on the edge of the planter in a row. I can't get mad, the flowers are really pretty and I bet they taste good to a chipmunk. :D

Finish It Friday
Finish up some Cheery O stuff
FInsih cleaning my office and kitchen

How about you? anything in particular you wan to cross off your list today?

Have a wonderful day!

@LSlycord Congrats on getting a page done yesterday! Was it the one I saw of Syd?
:hahano: Oh no no no noooo- I already have a husband like that. *shakes head firmly* When Gary gets it in his head he wants something done, he wants it done now, forget that I might have a million other things I am working on :D
I hope that Syd feels better, has she tested for Covid just in case? I keep seeing headlines that cases are increasing again and that the levels found in wastewater are also rising.

@vickyday I can totally see why Mark would want you around with his ex. I don't understand what kind of person would abandon her kids like that either.
Wow, that is great news about no cancer!!!!!
:bouncing:

The flip side is that it sounds like you have no better idea of what's causing the nausea. That's got to be frustrating.

@taxed4ever When I was looking at the air quality map yesterday I saw that Vancouver Island was also covered with alerts. This is sad and worrisome, isn't it? It's really dry here too, the heat has passed for now, but once it comes back, everything will be even crispier. I hope that everyone's air/fires/drought conditions are better soon-- one can hope, right?
Have a wonderful time tonight and this weekend!
... more active with perhaps getting bikes...Perhaps that is the reason he won't retire :giggle4:.
:floorlaugh: Perhaps!
I'd say that would be something Gary and I could do-- we bought bikes and a few months later was when we all got diagnosed with Lyme and no way would our knees be able to deal with that. The bikes are still in our shed but I think hiking is our better bet.

@bcgal00 I hope that you were able to take the dogs out before it got too hot. It's been really cold here, (60s) and wish I could send some of that to you, minus all of the smoke of course.
The bagels were good, I got a multi-grain which was covered in ... grains. Duh.
That's really awful about the lack of funding for medical care. The US has a lot of "minute clinics" in several pharmacy chains which are great for strep or ear infections. Do you think BC will start the program like they have in Alberta?
Crud, I am sorry to hear that the housing market is bad for selling. It's the other way around here, it's great for sellers, pretty bad for buyers.

@Cherylndesigns Sure, sure- rub it in about excellent air quality while I breathe in a thick layer of smoke and pollen bwuahaha :p
I still haven't gotten anything that we talked about for tanning. Maybe that should be my finish it Friday.
Thanks for your support, but we *are* boring. :giggle4: It's hard that almost everything fun costs money which we don't have. That's the nice think about hiking, doesn't cost a penny!

@BrightEyes good news that you ate a real meal! And scrapping too :)
[I am trying to bite my tongue and stop my fingers but I can't help myself]
Just don't push yourself, you have been sick/in pain for a long time, baby steps ♥

Yes, you are correct! Nausea and reflux even though I don't eat. Then when I do eat I can only eat a very little because my stomach feels so full.....if I even have an appetite! It is frustrating! I wasn't even nauseous when I was preggo!

:friday:Happy Birthday, OSCRAPS! :birthdaygreet::cake2:
17 years has got to be a record! I'm so glad to be a part of the team!
Not much going on here at the moment. I've done the morning routine of making the bed :bedjump:and putting the dishes away, coffee :coffeedrinker:and now posting here. :busy1:
Later today we are going to another graduation for an "adopted" grandson. He even calls Mark, papaw, even though he is not really related by blood. Mark took him under his wing with the other grands when he was little and hanging out with his step-daughter's kids. I was his Sunday school teacher until he "got too big to come to church with Mark." It is so frustrating for churches who preach the word of God and all the parents/kids are interested in are activities.....not teaching. They can get that elsewhere, for crying out loud! Rant over!:rantonoff:

So, anyway, not sure what all, if anything, we will be doing today. Mark had to run :angrydriver:to the shop to get his check and to CVS for his diabetes meds and while he is out he is picking up breakfast sandwiches :romanticdinner:for us. I need to do some sweeping because I am seeing dirt off of Mark's shoes here and there. :vacuuming: Mark talked about taking a bike trip :motorcycle1:today but his hemorrhoids have been acting up again, poor guy!

I need to catch up on some social media stuff for my recent pages, too, and check out the birthday bash thread!
(I don't think I have EVER used so many emojis in one post, LOL!):rotfl::floorlaugh::lol23::giggle4:

Have a great day!:jumpingcake::partyhorn::clubparty:

Good morning party people. :partyhorn: :birthdaygreet:

Well, the Pre-Party Avatar Challenge has started off with a bang. There are so many new ones in the gallery since I went to bed last night. It's so much fun to see what everyone creates. Chris @faerywings it IS hard to fit a square peg in a round hole. :floorlaugh: O always make sure that my writing is in the middle - that's one of the keys. You can't put a lot of writing on if you want it to show either. Show/not show (in your actual avi) - that is the question. I usually go with "show" in my actual avi. Maybe a bit boring.

Glad your air quality is better today. Chuck has lung problems so he's always looking at that. I'm not hardly awake yet, so I may cut this short and come back later. My legs were cramping so badly that I had to get up and take some Potassium. They had been doing that since about 6 and I finally gave up a few minutes ago and got up. Good for Scott for getting some leadership roles and I'll bet the Lego Pirate Ship is adorable. I don't have the patience for things like that - never did. That and crossword puzzles - no, I have the patience of a gnat.

Vicky, I'm so happy for you that your test came back ok. Now, to find out why you're nauseated. That's not a good way to live - I hate that feeling.

Finish It Friday - not really much. I need to repot two plants, but that may or may not get done. Haha Hugs to all and Kay @BrightEyes please take Chris's advice and mine - don't overdo! Baby steps is right. HUGS

XOXO

Good morning ladies. Used my early morning time to go to the beach and enjoy the sunrise. I finally have found a reason to appreciate the late sunrise of the south ...it gives me plenty of time to make it to the beach. And, countdown to Sydney....she will be here a week from tonight. You know that I'm happy dancing now!!!:dancingelephant: :cucumber:

Don't know where the birds have gone. I don't hear them in the mornings now. The landscaper comes next week to put in a bunch of viburnum along the back fence and I think that will encourage them to come. Then I can put the feeders closer to the back. We will see...a work in progress.

Is it Finish it Friday? My list is long! But I'm ready to celebrate the O's 17th birthday! And @faerywings, I can't believe that our Mama O has been at this for 17 years either!

@LSlycord Congrats on getting a page done yesterday! Was it the one I saw of Syd?

@faerywings

That layout that I did yesterday was the one of Syd. She looks so grown up in that picture. I'm so excited to have her back one week from today...but I have a feeling that she will seem so much like an adult...which she is, whether I'm ready or not. I don't think that she has tested for Covid...but she said that she doesn't have a fever so I think it is probably just an irritating summer cold.

Yep...Brian and Gary would get along just fine with all of the things that you and I need to do right now!

I am so excited for you with the good news from the colonoscopy. Of course, that still leaves the unknown of what is going on with your stomach.

Poor Mark and the hemorrhoids...this getting old is not for the weak at heart (I was typing a pain in the butt...then decided that might not be appropriate for hemorrhoids).

It is so nice of Mark to pick up the new appliances for his ex MIL. Glad that you are going along for his sake.

@taxed4ever have a great time at the reunion. Is this the 50th? Did you and Gary go to high school together or meet later? Hope you found the right outfit and that you have a great time. My 50th is in two years and I'm looking forward to it.

Love your avatar challenge. It's on my to do list for tonight. The gallery is hopping already...great way to kick it off!

I would have said, with regards to the hemorrhoids and the butt.......pun intended! :floorlaugh:
