Oh, happy, happy Friday!!!!!!
:bliss:
The sun is shining and it is going to be a beautiful day. I still feel like s*** but am looking forward to being outside for dirt therapy. Literally can't wait. As in, yup, watching the clock to see when the sun will dry the dew from the grass.

I know that Jean will sweetly lecture me :nono: about reading too much news, but not only does my heart break over so many of the injustices that I see (the new US policy of separating children from there asylum-seeking parents as just one example), there is another effort happening that will dismantle the Affordable Care Act and it's protections for pre-existing conditions. The stress of this health insurance uncertainty is gonna give me an ulcer. I am so darn thankful that my state is working on its own legislation to keep insurance costs down but the national level is horrific. The House of Representatives also voted to cut all funding to the Children's health insurance plans. It most likely not get through the Senate but at this point, with this government, you can never say never.
(Who would have thought that a US president would get into a Twitter fight with the heads of two allied govt's??)

Anyway, back to Dirt Therapy- I know that I have weeding to do and I want to move some of the lilies from the side of the house to the front. I will be out there as long as my body can handle it.

I am sort of concerned for my mom today. Her cousin passed away and today is the wake and tomorrow is the funeral. She knows that her brother will be there and she hasn't seen or talked to him in years. He was obnoxious to their younger sister for a long time and did some pretty sneaky stuff after my grandparents died. I told her to not let him get to her and that she should have a code word with my dad if she needs to get some space away from him. (He is a bully- I used to practically live at his house over the summers with my cousin and he terrified me back then ;) ). I called last night to check in and she seems ready to go. She is way stronger than she thinks she is but I hope that he doesn't try to intimidate her.

Another hour or so and I can head outside

I hope that the sun is shining wherever you are! Hugs!

Nancy- sounds like you had a nice start to your day with the cut and color, but then ya had to go and ruin it with cleaning in the afternoon  I ended up having to clean out one of the cabinets yesterday. Scott saw a couple of ants so took everything out, wiped it down and put in a couple of any traps.
Congrats to your friends DD and the new car. Now that I am used to driving the CRV, anytime I drive the VUE it is like maneuvering a boat. Haha!!!
Sorry to see the headlines about the Knights but I saw that it was an exciting game.
Is your SIL coming today? Bet the house looks fab!
Rae- It must be so hard to get a good balance for B with food as it seems like it is one thing that she enjoys. Good for you to be so responsive to those needs. Most people in the medical field, aside from endocrinologists, don't seem to understand how often diabetics need to test their blood-- nor do they understand the mental and emotional changes that come with high and low sugar.

Gotta post this, dogs need to go out. Ignore the typos!

Have you gotten any results from the MRIs yet? All fingers crossed to good news.

Jean- I totally relate to the "blahs" Hope that you get scrap mojo back soon!

Trudy- hope you aren't too achy after all of that yard work yesterday. Bet you slept well after it all.

Felis- how awesome to spend time with your friend and of course she was happy about the book and offered to loan it to you- she sounds like a very generous person. :)
I am really sad to hear that Courtney is retiring too, she is one of my faves as well :(

Morning my O family! Rain here today and we really need it! Hard to believe I am saying that but oh my goodness it has gotten very dry, very fast here! I hope to get out to the Nursery today to pick up a new Hosta and perhaps some red Astilbe for my corner garden. I think that I will stick with just having perennials there instead of trying to plant annuals every year. I love the colour in the summer, but really can't be bothered to baby the annuals in the heat. Not much else planned today, DH is finally going to finish painting the garage, its been half done for over 2 years now :mmph: We were supposed to re-paint the front deck but because of the rain that won't be happening. Mason is home from school today as it is a Pro-D day so I hope that we will get to facetime with him and Heather and Hunter at some point this morning.

Chris - I am so happy that you are going to be able to get outside for some dirt therapy today, nice to hear that your weather is finally nice again! I hope that things go well with your Mother and her Brother today! Why is there always one bad apple in the family that makes life miserable for the others?? My one sister and brother have not talked to each in years and I can't see them ever talking again for the rest of their lives. So sad and it makes it difficult for the rest of us to even get all together. One would refuse to be there is they knew the other was going to attend. My back is a bit sore and stiff today from all the shovelling of that heavy dirt. We use a super soil that has sand in it for better drainage also mixed with fertilizer so its a bit smelly, but it is the best to use for the grass. Anyway I hope that you are feeling better after getting outside in the fresh air and sunshine today!

I need to get breakfast for DH so he can get painting, before he changes his mind LOL. I will pop in again to catch up with everyone else.

Good morning, ladies. I'm staying home today (no hospital visit) so hope to get caught up with my work and get some chores done and then spend the evening relaxing, with D, and watching some PVR shows. I've been tired all week so I think my body and brain are worn out from the stress and busy schedule. But, I wouldn't have it any other way, as I want to be with B as much as I can and help Jen too.

The MRI result showed a teeny tiny improvement in brain swelling so its not getting much better but at least not getting any worse. She's been certified for another 3 mths so the hospital is starting to realize the severity of the situation and is better working with Jen on her care. The brain team will be coming in to see her sometime over the next few wks to see if there are some brain therapy lessons they can get started on with her.

We had a fun time last night watching a Marvel movie (Captain America) which she loved. She enjoyed the snacks I brought too. We got in lots of hugs and kisses which my heart needs. I love that girl so much. I'm looking forward to spending most of Saturday up there with her and hope to find a puzzle we can do together.

Chris - hope you have fun out in the garden. We need to get some ant traps too as I saw a few by the kitchen/porch doorway yesterday. We've tried different sprays but find the traps work the best. Hope you mom doesn't have any confrontation with her brother. Its such a sad time and she certainly doesn't need any added stress. Hope it all works out ok.

Trudy - yes we do need the rain but it doesn't mean I have to like it :) I gave up on annuals a few yrs ago, it was just too much work even tho it was so much more colorful to see out in the garden. I also gave up on hanging baskets on our back porch (too much work to keep deadheading them). Hope you get some facetime with the family.

Hope everyone else is well (Nancy, Felis, Jean and everyone else).

I'm getting to work now. Later I hope to go thru the freezer and organize it better as I can't seem to find anything in there. I need some bins so might pop into the dollar store later.

Gotta get to work, have a great day, everyone.

Today I sent out an update to the family history book I did at Christmas time. It focused on DH's paternal grandmother and her relatives in Germany. I knew there must be more siblings than we had data on and now I've learned of two older brothers and a younger half-sister. The information came from different sources but a pivotal one was a photo the cousin had of one of the brothers with his birth and death info on the back, written in German, so probably sent here after he died.Tonight we'll stay home for dinner and later hope to see the Cavs at least win one.

Felis, super that the acquaintance/friend liked the book and offered to share. She sounds like a real pleasure to be around. Nice day Thursday too. Hope we get our weeklies done some time, but it can get hard.

Chris, sure hope the dirt therapy did some good and didn't aggravate the bod to much. It isn't just following the news, but spending too much time doing it. We can't ignore it completely for sure.

Trudy, hard at work again, but the effort will look lovely after. Nice for DH to finish up painting the garage. Hope you continue to get enough rain (maybe only at night?)

Rae, sure hope this means the hospital will be making a better effort for B. You are so good for her with the activities, snacks and loving. Wishing all of you strength for the long haul. But I'm also glad you can take a day off for work and home.

Nancy, sort of sad to see the Knights lose, but everyone is happy for Ovi. Now you just have to survive until the next hockey season starts.

:hello: again everyone, we have been busy with DH painting the garage and me running to the hardware store for another gallon. Then cleaning the disgustingly dirty sink in the garage Yuck!! Now it looks brand new again! After lunch we plan on vacuuming the rest of the garage and get rid of all the cobwebs etc. Not a fun job, but it will be so nice to have it all clean again.

Nancy - I was sad to see the end of the hockey season too, and yes I was cheering for the Vegas Knights to take the cup. Oh well hopefully our teams will do even better next season! You must have that same feeling as Rae and I to get things cleaned up and more organized, however I will never be as organized as Rae LOL.

Rae - It warms my heart to know that you had such a good visit with B!! I sure hope that the next MRI results show that there is definite improvement! Sad that it took this to finally make the staff realize that she was more serious than they all thought and hopefully now will get the proper care that she should have had all along! The stress of all of this really does take its toll on your body and I am glad that you are able to get a bit of rest today! Sending you all of my best thoughts and prayers for your family!

Felis - How nice that your friend loves her book and was willing to share it with you! She seems like a very nice woman! Yes I too was sad to hear that Courtney is leaving the designing world, her stuff is so awesome and I loved being on her CT for a while. Hope you get to enjoy the evening!

Jean - I too can totally relate with the blahs! I don't seem to have the inspiration to do much of any kind of scrapping lately, hopefully that changes very soon for all of us!

Ok I better get my work clothes back on and get to cleaning out all the spider webs and dirt Ugh!! :mmph: Spring cleaning is good when its all done with! LOL

Hello girls,
I feels guilty to share this after Chris's stories for loss and violence, but my Friday was just lovely. I wouldn't go in details, because it will be kind of disrespectful on this back ground. Kiss and hugs to you all!

Trudy, maybe it's not fun, but always is pleasant to gives better look on the things around you! And you spend some time together which is lovely too! Working on a common project with your husband is one of the little things at the life that make it worth it! I'm on a same opinion for the annuals flowers, even my favorite flower is hyacinth, prefer to put roses and geranium, instead to care for bulbs plant and replant.

Jean, it's always intriguing how you can find new piece of your history just following one photo. It's kind of Sherlock Holmes story for me and all these genealogy stuffs still sounds me like kind of mystery, even you are explained many times that it's science. Ugh, I slowly moved with one weekly page, and just scrape page for the nbk's Challenge I saw they are closed it a front of my nose :boom: . Summer is hard for scrap, because so many things distract us out, and it's not my happy time too.
Nancy, .

Rae, I hope you've been able to relaxing qualitatively! Sounds like these are good news for B! Is that mean that they will cover the treatment cost now? I hope so!

Chris, I have to catch up few your posts. It's sounds very cool and adventurous that Scott have rowboat now! Just hope to can find time for summer funs with his busy schedule! I'm on an opposite opinion than Rae, unfortunately with the age women needs more makeup. But Cait is so young and pretty, so it seemed to me more like wasting of time, but I wasn't considering that it could be like kind of fun, I found it more annoying. Pff, these family titles confused me even on my own language, thanks for the clarification!
I hope that the time outside is improved your mood! Sorry to hear that you feels so bad! If you see injustices that can fix go and do it! But if you are helpless, then don't think about it, just hope that someone other will can do more about that. Seriously this with the news is poison!
Condolences about your mom's cousin loss! So sad! See this about your uncle is something that you really have to worry about! If I'm got is right this is some kind of #metoo story which just terrifies me! So sorry that your family have to deal with that!!! Hope your dad can put him on a right place if he try to disturb your mom again! It's so nasty that she have even to breathe the same air like him, to be at the same room, it makes me trill! Hope everything gonna be alright! ::grouphug
