Hello and Happy Friday!
It is a beautiful morning ATM, sunny with a slight breeze. It rained a lot overnight after the humid day so the air feels amazing. I will make sure I enjoy the next few days because it is supposed to get into the 90s early next week.

I have no idea what I did in the morning yesterday. I felt like all I did was wait to leave for work, even though I know that isn't true. I forgot to give the dogs their heartworm/flea and tick meds so that must get done first thing today. Work was interesting! Merit badges are very different than leading field trips. The badge was for Landscape Architecture and I learned quite a lot myself.
The amazing part of the day happened before the session started. The director and Lauren asked if I would be interested in sitting in on a job interview next week. A woman who attended the last Forest Bathing program and applied for a PT job at Weis. She has a lot of alternative healing/natural medicine type experience which lines up with my aromatherapy and Reiki background. Weis is thinking about branching into nature retreats and wants my input. Wow! Seriously, how cool is that?? ??

It is SOOOOO cool!

This morning I need to vacuum out my car. The back seat is still covered in dog hair from our trip to PA a month ago. I don't care about the mud, that is always going to be there. But if anyone wants to sit in the back, they won't be happy and I can't blame them. ;)
After that, I am cleaning for my friend and that's about it.

What fun plans do you have today?

Hope it is a great one!
:hug4:

Yes! The humidity and fogged windows it unreal and yes, predicted to be high temps today. My town pool has been open for weekends since Memorial Day but almost all days have been a wash. They open on Saturday for summer session and then Monday for the summer. But, not until 12pm, by then I'm melted.
I'm sorry your pool opens so late, that's crazy, come on down! :beach2:
It didn't turn out to be crazy hot yesterday, only 82 but the humidity was yucky. When we were outside for the Badge, I couldn't tell if I was sweating or condensating. I know that isn't a word but YKWIM. I hope LOL
I checked the website and the pool is opening early on the weekdays, beginning this Monday! I'm not sure if I will have a day to go and hang out but it's good to know that I can.
Stay cool!

Wow when I said I was bringing heat from Florida to the Northeast I didn't mean this much.
Yeah, thanks a lot! harrrrumph!
:D
I have to look for your bear LO. Years ago, we had a mom and 5 cubs that would hang out in the yard and I was in awe of the Mama bear's skills in wrangling them. I did a LO of her getting them all up in a tree next to my house.

So @OBirthdayfairy posted a chatter about nuts then @Amandajk put a pic of a pistachio muffin so that's all I could think about. Yesterday we went to grocery store and 2 fell into the basket...it's delicious.
Dontcha hate when that happens? How did that get in there? Oops! :giggle4:
You must be having the best time with the family! How long will you stay with them?

I'm still getting the meal delivery kits every wk to supplement my cooking and its working out well. I also am enjoying the produce delivery I get every wkend too. I hardly ever have to go to the grocery store now. I discovered that I like bok choy, I halved it and sauteed it in an asian flavored oil. I mixed it with baked baby potatoes, carrots, snap peas and green peppers, sprinkled with nutritional yeast, garlic, red pepper flakes and honey.
1. Totally jealous about the meal delivery kits LOL
2. I don't think I have had bok choy (maybe once?) and the meal you made with it sounds delicious! (Minus the carrots, don't like carrots.)
We haven't figured out where to go yet but possibilities are the British Isles, Norway, Iceland, Portugal, Greece.
They all sound incredible, but my vote is for Greece. I would love to go there, the history has to be phenomenal and the weather sure wouldn't hurt ;)
I hope that you can lock in a good price wherever you go.

Here is a photo of the new chairs around the kitchen table... They are comfortable and love that there are no arms to get in the way and hit the sides of the tabletop.
LOVE the new chairs, they match perfectly and look so comfy.
I'm glad that you are waiting for the grandsons to help you move the rest of the bulk items out.

Oh, I'm so glad. We have to drive 2+hours to find a store that carries the muffins, (one of the reasons we are moving. not the muffins, but the availability of more than pork/BBQ/ biscuits and sweet tea. :giggle4::giggle4::giggle4:
The heat!!!! UGH!!!!!! I was REALLY hoping it wouldn't start til July!!! It's all I can do to stay sane:crazy: with my doors and windows closed to heat indices of 102+:fan: while knowing how beautiul and breezy it is up at Lake Erie!!!:paddling::jail1::praying2:
Where are you moving to? Hope that you can stay cool until the heat breaks.

Waving hi to everyone who pops in today! :waving3:

Well - It's Midsummer Eve! The most Swedish day of the year. Read more about it here:
But ... you know me ... we're not celebrating. I'm a Grinch for ALL festivities. LOL I will make a kinda nicer dinner, but we won't do anything else. TV & snacks this evening.

But I have finished all the challenges for the Birthday Bash ... at least I can celebrate that.

Yesterday I was thinking of you @faerywings - I made spaghetti and a DIVINE Italian Bolognese-ish dish with mushrooms and lentils. And in honor of you - NO ketchup added. You would have been so proud of me!

So proud! :heartpumplove:

Congrats on finishing the party challenges, I think I did two. :bawling:

@faerywings Wow that is awesome you are going to sit in on that interview, I imagine that will be interesting. I hope you report on that after.
to answer your question. We are having so much fun they always have so much going on it is so interesting. We are leaving here on 30th with youngest grandson then a few nights camping with him then up the their McCabin in upstate NY Son and DIL will come up for 4th of july we will stay there longer then on to a friends.

@bcgal00 All those places would be interesting so I see your dilemma. Our daughter and hubby are going to Greece in August. I would love to go there. We live near Tarpon Springs FL and that is primarily a Greek community and the food---some of my favorite!!!! Many of the business have photos of Greece it's looks stunning white with blue roofs and the ocean.

@tanteva Wow that is great that you finished the birthday challenges. That food sounds so delicious you are making me hungry, good no ketchup I only like it on a few things.

Yesterday Reed and I made Chicha Morada- Peruvian purple corn water that took over an hour it was really fun working with him. then we played dominos, DIL went to run errands so Reed and I made lunch then played Jenga. He went with a friend to drive go carts. It rained really hard for a little while then it got cooler. We went to meet some long time marina friends for dinner so that was really fun catching up since we hadn't seen them in 2 years. When we got back here Reed was restarting the fire from the night before so I got our ferro stick to play around starting another little fire---epic fail. We will try again. Some of their friends stopped by so it was fun talking with them as I havent seen then for a year. Then out came some fireworks! Morters, roman candles and ground works.
Today they are having paver sidwalks put in leading to the goat pen, pig yard and chicken coop so that will be nice for the winter. Tonight we are meeting daughter her family and friends at a brewery for music trivia this will be so mch fun.

So everyone have a great day...this week flew by

Waving hi to everyone who pops in today! :waving3:
One year ago- the day I said goodbye to Dad at the home we drove two more hours up to Lake Erie(Ohio) for a nostalgic visit to childhood haunts. My grandfather had built a cottage right on the shore of the marina in Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio- where we spent a lot of time in the summer. My favorite place on earth! dance3 The cottage is long gone (90's) :sad2: But we had a good look around. When we got to the Lighthouse, the light came on inside of us. We have wanted to move for four years. But we couldn't figure out where to. Suddenly on the shores of Erie I felt at home- and like myself again! I didn't even know that was missing! When we got in the car to leave, hubster said "I could live here." :jawdrop3:WHAT?!!!:idea:Never thought he would say that! And moving back to Ohio was never on the table. We've tried to stay close to son and his fam. But it's time for just the two of us. We've only been waiting for completion of a V.A. claim as I mentioned. The Arts communities there are really vibrant and widespread throughout the villages and islands. Can't wait! Thanks for the cool wishes- but in the Carolinas the heat doesn't break until mid September once it starts. I truly hate it here in the summer cos you are trapped inside.:fan: Not cool. (pardon the pun!:giggle4:

Morning, all. I manage to sleep in this morning until 8 AM. Was going to open the house up but it was already 83*F outside - and heading to 98*F - 99*F!!! At least it is only 75*F inside so it is staying closed up today. It is a very quiet morning as DD#1 drove home yesterday. She had been here for month and was really missing her family. There is still work going on at her son's house and DD#3 will be over-seeing it for DD#1. I will be running errands this morning - hopefully before it gets too hot.

Not sure when Grandson will be coming back over to finish taking the hard drive out of the old computer. He needed a special tool to get to it. Then he will destroy the 3 HDs. Once that is done, will set up a date for the bulk pick-up. Will be glad to have it all gone.

@faerywings Congrats on being selected to be at the interview!!! Scout merit badges do take a lot to earn them... I remember when the 2 sons were working on theirs... Hope you do get to go to the pool one of these days.

@Amandajk Oh... hope your dream of moving back to Ohio comes true! How delightful that your hubby was the one who came up with the suggestion.... sounds like it is meant to be.

Waving to everyone as I dash out to get the errands run. HAGD

Yesterday morning’s bike ride was quite humid. This morning I biked to a meeting and although the temperature is about the same, the lower humidity made it much more comfortable. It’s forecast to get up to 101° by Tuesday, and the grandkids are coming in from Seattle on Wednesday. It’s going to be quite a shock for them, poor kids. The 7-year-old was complaining when it got to mid 70s when we went to Vancouver a couple months ago.

I actually got down on the kitchen floor and scrubbed it yesterday. I’m getting too old for this; surely there’s a machine I can rent? But the house is starting to look ok for Sunday’s bbq party. I had figured it would be outside and people would just come in to use the bathroom or put something on the kitchen, but the forecast is now for 97° and sunny so I’m going to have to have the option for people inside.

Otherwise, I don’t have much planned for the next few days. Just trying to water the flowers often enough that the don’t look terrible by Sunday.

Good morning All!! I have been keeping up but my attitude needs more work before I venture into public. Real life people are all doom n gloom and I am at the end of my rope listening. Its sunny. Its summer. Its beautiful. Life is good! Unless you focus on the bad and suck all the life out of those who are in a good mood. Yep, that is my week. So while I've been here, I'm just silently enjoying all the fun and love that flows. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Im keeping my 'tude hidden this weekend. See you Monday!

I know what you mean, Tracy. I've been asking hubster to NOT put Youtube politics on if I am in the room. UGH!! So much has changed in the past 10-15 years I don't want to hear of it much. It affects my brain- literally.
@Terri M - I am amazed! I think I have only hand scrubbed a floor once in my life!! :giggle4: :giggle4: Kudos to you!
@BoatLady Debby the music trivia does sound fun!!
@bcgal00 Oooooo- Norway is definitely on our list! I have ancestors from there that migrated to England and then U.S.!
We were packed to leave today, but a grand jury hearing stalled us out. We don't know the details but there was certainly deliberate and illegal hold up of many veteran's claims. Frustrating, but glad the culprits have been outed. :yesss:
Well, have a good weekend all :fan::paddling:dance3

Hi Everyone, it's been a minute! This month has been filled with all kinds of stressors. I feel pretty behind here at the O, as well as with our yardwork and my housework!
Last week in my backyard bird watching I saw an Indigo Bunting! Pretty far away but I could ID it with my binocs. Once I knew what it was, that blue was completely identifiable with the naked eye. So amazing to see that color from that distance. That's a first sighting for me! Today I was able to enjoy the afternoon by myself. Tomorrow it will be yardwork and housework, and in the evening Belle and I will go to a local park for an outdoor concert with my SIL. Sunday church, then a church event I'll be working, then hopefully the later afternoon and evening will be nice and quiet.
@BoatLady it sounds like your trip is coming along nicely!
@Amandajk it's nice to see you here!
@Terri M you're inspiring me to clean my floors. With all the dogs and the birds, they're never clean!
@tanteva my husband calls ketchup "The sauce of life". He puts in on everything.
@faerywings Every time I see your birthday avatar it makes me smile. Somehow I think you haven't changed much! :flower:
@AK_Tracy laying low is good! Hope the weekend brings you some fun and lots more sunshine!

Well, yesterday was "better" wasn't it? But, my goodness we are in for it with escalating temps.
I LOVE your word "condestating" -- it's perfect. (BTW auto-correct does not like it and kept trying to change it on me!)
YAY for your pool opening early soon, at least you know it's there.
My town pool starts Summer Session hours today which means this morning is a 10am opening, yay. You stay cool too, even though you already are way-cool! :heartpumppink:
