O.M.G!!!!! We are officially halfway into June. That is quite terrifying. :scared:Time is speeding by exponentially. I am happy however that it seems that aside from cool temps overnight, we will be consistently seeing temps in the 70-80* range, with a day or to around 90*. Poor Gary is going to be miserable those days. I should remind him to put the AC in the bedroom window.

So many things that I need to remember on my own, it is hard to keep track of the things I need to remind him about too.

Even though it was freezing in the morning, the attic was really hot and I spent close to an hour storing through some things but I found the decorations. Gary and I did a head count and we will be having about 30 people here. Yikes. But I think we should have enough food and hopefully, the weather will be nice if anyone wants to sit outside. It is what it is. (I am trying to not stress about this but I am having a tough time.)

I did some weeding in the yard and the sun made me happy. and...drum roll... I started a scrap page for the NBK technique challenge. It isn't done yet, but I think it is coming out pretty cool so far.

Gary and I watched Black Panther last night, he had a free coupon from Fandango and that was actually the one movie that I had been interested in seeing whenever it was on Netflix. I am not a big superhero movie fan, but I loved the costumes and choreography (and the politically and cultural statements too). He enjoyed it as well.

I am off to the store with my mom today to pick up some of the last minute type things-- I think I need more paper plates and napkins but not too much else.

Enjoy the sunshine!

You know how I am complaining about the formatting/return key? I went to edit my first post because it really annoys me. You know what I noticed? There is no rhyme or reason to how many lines it creates. There are some paragraphs that have 4 spaces, others that had 2. Makes no darn sense, but then again, what does in life anymore. :gaah: :pound:

Trudy- the Wine Tour sounds amazing! I hope you and your Gary have a blast and don't forget to drink lots of water in between. :) My fingers are crossed that the weather is beautiful and that you get some great photos to scrap.
It is sad to hear that your MIL has alienated people because of her sharp tongue. Sounds exactly like my dad's mom. She was not a nice person, especially at the end of her life. I would have a very hard time forgiving anyone, let alone a MIL who said that about my kids, like yours did when Heather was sick. Hey-- any time you need to vent, you can dump all of it on me.
How fun to have bunk beds for the boys. Scott and Cait shared a room for years and had bunk beds and they loved it. I think she was about 15 months old when she decided that she didn't want to sleep in the crib but in the room with him. She could climb out if anyway so it worked out great. Hope that you had a great Facetime with them.

Jean- Your weather was like mine-- the breeze was kind of strong at times. Do you have a lot to do for the Saturday meeting? Happy early birthday to DH!

Felis- How nice to see family a bit, even though they all had sad stories. Yes, very good to hear that your uncle is feeling strong enough to get exercise. I wish he would quit smoking for good too. I hope that by quitting the job your aunt is less stressed too. Is she the one that would start trouble at family dinners? I hope that you and your friend end up talking again someday soon. My BFF- the one I have known since we with 5- we had a fight in high school and didn't talk for almost a year. But we were able to get past that and I love her always :)

hahaha! That is funny about the dogs barking at the song that you use for your ringtone. J barks at people coming to the door and we don't even have a doorbell.

Nancy, Rae and all of you-- xoxoxo!!!

Good morning! I am back. My home is my own again LOL. But we had such a nice visit with my DH's sister. She is such a nice person and I love her to bits. Makes me so angry looking back that I did not do more to make sure we kept in touch and saw each other more often. I met her first in the dorm at Arizona State University. We had the same class and her brother too and he came and sat by us and eventually asked me out and the rest is history. We had such a good visit. She and I just talked and talked. I showed her my albums from my trips and she loved looking. She liked some of the trips so much she has put them on her list of places to visit. We did two great day trips - one to Brigantine to see the birds. She loves bird watching as much as I do. And we got a first time bird for me a blue grosbeak. A male in its gorgeous breeding colors - it was so beautiful. The skimmers were still there and they are so cute. And there were 3 terns, Fosters, Common and Gull-billed. They are so cute when they dive. It was a blue sky warm day and the bugs were not too too bad! Then on Wed we went to Dingman's Falls which is just over the Delaware River in PA. Well OMgosh that park is closed due to the huge wind rain storms that came through in May. There were two and we saw photos and it is so sad to see the damage. Then there is another area farther up Dingman's River and it too is closed as it too suffered from the same storms. But luckily there was one falls Raymaond's Kill falls that had been repaired so we went there. It was beautiful! And then Chris we drove around the area. We were up by Sparta, Lake Hopatcong and then up rt206. Not sure if this is by you. Every thing was is so green from the rain. It was a fun drive. My DH took us on back roads and I told him according to google maps we were going back the way we came. He did not believe it LOL but we did. And then he says "I don't know how WE did that" Suzie and I broke out in laugher as yes WE don't know how WE did that. Not so sure he thought that was funny! Luckily the traffic was great no slow downs. Then yesterday my DH left for a seminar in Boston. I took SIL to airport and now it is just me at home as son is at work and Luther is at doggie daycare. I am just relaxing today. But it was really fun. But it had been so long since we had gotten together. And we have vowed not to let that happen again. So the Stanley Cup winners were the Washington Capitals. I had thought I wanted Vegas to win but seeing the true joy the Capitals players are exhibiting is so fun. Ovi waited 13 years and he has not let the Cup out of his site. He still asks his wife if this is real. And he revealed he and his wife are expecting. What a year for them. I am so happy for them but sad that Vegas did not have their happy ending. It was just a shame that both could not win!

I have read the past posts and think I am somewhat caught up on everyone's days.

Chris it looks like summer is finally here. And for me up near 90 on Sunday and Monday. And only a small chance of rain over the next 10 days. I am so happy. Luther will be hot but we have AC and the basement. Have fun with the party! It will be crazy but fun! Glad the eyes are good. And what a great opportunity for Scott and a scholarship would be awesome! Sending good vibes.

Trudy so sorry for the loss of Aunt Marion. My SIL lives in and worked in Napa Valley and knows her wines. She is fun to listen too. Have fun on your wine tour. So glad your DH is going. Maybe he will get tips as he makes his own wine! Hope you are feeling better! That is so fun about the bunk beds. My sons had bunkbeds. But as they grew their personalities required they have separate rooms but for awhile it was so fun for them.

Felis your dreaming day in the sun - I love those kinda days LOL. I used to spend time at the Jersey shore just laying in the sun in some dream haze. So glad you liked Riverdale.

Rae I am glad that they are making progress in Bailey's diagnosis but it seems like a long time to take them to determine it is more serious that previously thought. But so glad that you are getting her to see movies and she is enjoying the treats. I am sending positivity that she continues to make progress! Glad you are getting some me time and time with Taz and DH. Taz really is a cutie. My SIL, even though we told her, said Luther is big. Yes he is LOL.

Jean sorry about the Cavs. Is Lebron staying or going or do you know! Thanks for sharing about the family history. So cool that you are filling in the blanks about the sisters. My girlfriend's SIL found out from her DNA that her dad had an affair while in the service and she has a half sister. She is glad she found out but it was a shock for her.

Have a great day all.

Morning ladies... A quick post from me this morning as I need to get lunch made and packed up for our Wine Tour today. The bus will arrive around 10am to pick us up at the door. So great that we do not have to worry about driving there and back again. It is a lovely sunny morning so far, however the temps are still not really warm yet, the heat is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I ended up going back to the shoe stores yesterday to try to find a Navy Blue pair of comfy flip flops, :gaah: why do I have so much trouble finding shoes?? They were either to small, to big or way to expensive and not comfy!! Oh well back to Amazon I guess. I am still waiting for my dress shoes I ordered, they should be here sometime next week as they are coming from the States and I am sure DT will make sure that I pay something extra before they get delivered LOL. Anyway I did manage to get a scrap page done yesterday and will post it right away.

Chris - Its great to hear that you are pretty much all organized and ready for the big party! To bad you had to spend so much time up in your hot attic, but hey its done! I enjoyed the Black Panther movie also, the special effects were amazing, my Gary however did not enjoy it as much. I love all the Avenger type movies, I think it is mostly because of the special effects. Your formatting on your keyboard must be driving you crazy! :loco: time for a new one perhaps?

:sorry: ladies I have to get busy and will catch up with the rest of you tomorrow! Nancy so nice to see you are back and sounds like a great visit with your SIL!!

Lovely sunny day and the house feels full of light. DH is home from his bird survey which was nice. We'll have to be up early again tomorrow so hope he takes a nap (and maybe me too.) For the meeting tomorrow we're starting with a recorded webinar on DNA procedures. Next we have user groups and I do one for two of the genealogy programs. I'm showing how to use a feature it seems no one has tried. That means I'm having to try it first. We break for a group brown bag lunch (some folks get take out) which is time to socialize. In the afternoon I usually do a session on computer genealogy stuff. Tomorrow it will be on Google and features that might be neglected. DH is coming too, mostly for the DNA sessions (also one of the user groups) and because we will be helpers at a class given at the library the following Saturday.

Felis, nice you saw your uncle and that he was doing something healthy even if he went back to smoking. The aunt's situation is too bad. Sure hope she finds a better place to work and gets the divorce so she doesn't have the nasty FIL anymore but it has to be a good thing to be out of that bad job situation, so not everything is down for her. Thanks for the comment on my daffodil page. That was fun to do.

Chris, just another week and you'll be having fun at the big bash. Yes you will! And then you can rest for a long while in terms of bashes. Still, 30 people at the house sounds like a lot.

Nancy, welcome back! What a great visit with SIL. Didn't realize you knew her first. I would have loved that trip to Brigantine. Blue Grosbeaks can be so beautiful (I did a card of one long ago: https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=198727&title=christmas-greeting&cat=500). How nice to share you trip books with her. I can easily imagine she'd want to go those places too.

Trudy, I know you're off having a wonderful day for the wine tour. How nice to get picked up at home! Good luck finding footwear!

Good morning ladies. I'm hoping to get a chance to scrap a page today or over the wkend. It's been way too long. I'm staying home from the hospital as other family are going up to see B and I'll go Sat and Sun afternoon to watch movies with her. D is on call for work this wkend so he will be in and out. Taz and I will get in a few long walks this wkend and I think I'll take him to the dog park later this afternoon too.

Watched the latest Jurassic Park with B, as the new one is coming out soon and when I can download it, we'll watch it together too. I had forgotten a lot of parts and of course she remembers none of it so we really enjoyed it. D remembered most of it but said he still enjoyed seeing it again. B got so caught up in it she started screaming and howling at one suspensful part and the security came running in, thinking something was wrong. We had to explain that we were watching the JP movie and he laughed, saying, yes, it really is a good movie :) It was so fun to see B enjoy a movie so much. She's been very vocal this week about wanting to die so being able to flip her mood for a few hours was so wonderful to see.

This morning I blended up a batch of coconut cream with vanilla and maple extract for my coffee. It only takes a few minutes using my magic bullet blender. I won't need to buy coconut creamer anymore.

Chris - you always stress but your parties always turn out to be so much fun and everything comes together as it should. I'm sure this next party will be no exception. I'm looking foward to the hot weather too. I'm tired of being cold all the time. I want to wear sundresses and flip-flops.

Trudy - have fun on your trip today.

Nancy - how fun to see a new bird. I had a new bird come to the feeder, a rufous hummingbird. I didn't get a pic of him on the feeder, he was very skittish, but I did get a few pics of him on our clothes line. Such a pretty hummer.

Jean - sounds like a full day of meetings and socializing. Have fun.

Felis - hope you are having a good day.

I'm going to get to work so I can stay caught up and then take Taz to the park later this afternoon.

Hi all...it seem like every time I get caught up, my life goes crazy again. In January I tended to my dad in the hospital, in Feb. I tended to my brother in the hospital and packed my DD up to move 2 hrs away for a new job and March and April was therapy for my back after injections. DH took off May and June for health reasons and we went to St. Lucia for a week in a Sandals resort. Now I am dealing with trigger thumb on my right hand- yep the computer takes a back seat...but I am catching up...we are one week into 3 weeks of thunderstorms, flash flooding, cloudy skies, humidity and staying home. Can't hardly go outside...Welcome to the Gulf Coast!

Rae- I know you a busy with Rae. Take care
Jean- sounds like you have a lot going on with your meetings. Enjoy
Trudy- Enjoy the wine tour-sounds great!
Nancy-welcome home
Chris- good luck on the party- you know it will be fine!

Hugs to all...

Good morning girls,
so for Friday ;) . I had the usual morning meting with my acquaintance and when I walk back to the home I saw I have few missed calls. But they was from unknown number so I just ignore that. :gaah: Why people can't just to text me, especially when it's emergency?! How they expect I to know that this is someone familiar, I'm not a fortune teller?!
The calls are been from daughter of friends of my mom. After I'm not answer she came home to ask do I can give her cat travel cage. But mom couldn't help her because the key for the cat house is at me. She couldn't wait because have to go on work, but told if I can help her, where and when have to bring the cage. So I go on this meeting, and also give them the number of my vet. She told me the symptoms and what she supposed it's the diagnosis (she is human nurse), but I don't think so. I told her I think she is wrong and what I suppose, but with sure vet will need test before to tell. They take the cage and thanks me. Later the mom's friend is call to mom, to tell that my vet is send them to the capital for more test, because situation is complicated, so both girls are been wrong for the diagnosis  . I'm worried about the cat and hope everything gonna be alright.

Aww, I'm so happy to see that you all are been here today!

Nancy, you missed us, but I'm not disappointed just see with what awesome stories you went back! I'm so happy you had fun! This car trip sounds lovely! I hope you'll scrap some pics from it! Oh and the story about how the loves happen is SOO cute!

Chris, as other already said, we are sure that your party will be awesome! I hope that weather will allow to be outside, garden parties are always fun! So sweet to have a movie date with Gary! I'm happy your scraping mojo is back!
Yes it's the same aunt from the diners scandal. She is my mom sis, dad have two but unfortunately they lives far from us, the uncles are dad's brothers too.

Trudy, I'm with you about the shoes. I start to look online for new sandals, but they was with too high heels for my, so I ended with the amount spent for new jacket because it was on sale ;), next month will try to find shoes.

Jean, I'm sure you will be brilliant on a genealogy meeting! It sounds so interesting. So all these people will give access to their DNA info without to be scared that it will gone in some database and can be used from some corrupt government official to charge him in some staging crime?!

Rae, aren't Jurassic Park have too violence?! I'm happy it distract her, even it's surprising.

Sharon, happy to see you here! Sorry that you have to goes thru so many troubles, but hope that future brings you bright days!
