Morning O fam - another rainy day here. It is my birthday, and the present I give myself- the day off from work. If I can help it, I do not work on my birthday. So yesterday I decided to make my favorite birthday cake- banana cake with chocolate frosting. I really have lost my skills- the frosting was not good- guess that will prevent me from eating the entire thing in one sitting. At least it looks pretty. Today- well not sure what- likely heading to the basement to work in my craft room- I want to be able to play in it, now just knock piles over! I told my husband I did not want jewelry but would rather we spent the money on materials for cabinets to put my 10' countertop on! Okay- I need to eat breakfast and get moving- love having the day off!

Happy Birthdday, Laurie!! what better gift than a day off work!! good for you for TAKING it! hope your weather is shaping up a bit. it is SO wet here, my mushrooms in the back yard are having mushrooms....

up since 4 a.m. again. to bed at midnight, 4 hours "sleep," so i'm a zombie again. if i can figure out how to lie down so that nothing hurts much, a nap is definitely in the offing.

looks like more rain today. maybe. this is the goofiest weather!!! the radar looks like freckles. little blobs of rain all over the place. if you happen to get under one of those blobs, it rains on you. a mile or two down the road, there could be sunshine instead. weird!

Good day - we had not a cloud in the sky for our local fireworks and it was wonderful. I was able to get a few really good photos - well at least photos that I liked. Went for a few hours to a BBQ at my girlfriends and then left to get to fireworks. The weather is hot and sultry. Think maybe tomorrow my DH and I will head to the Mt to a local waterfall actually just over the river in PA -Dingman's Falls. Hope most of NJ goes to the beach so I can head to the falls with few people there LOL. Not much going on today but watch Wimbeldon men's semi finals and Tour de France.

Phylis hope you get a nap into day! Feeling like a Zombie cant be much fun!

Morning O-zies!! Happy Birthday Laurie!! You gave yourself the very best birthday present ever!! Sorry that your icing did not turn out on your birthday cake though :sad: I hope that you get to play all day long in your craft room!!

Phylis - Ughhh!! another sleepless night!! Do you think that its because of all the cruddy wet weather you have been having?? I will try to send you some sunshine my friend, it sounds like you could really use it!! Mushrooms having mushrooms is not a good thing unless they are the edible kind. Perhaps they are the the magic kind, maybe that might help you sleep better at night? :becky: Wish you could join me on my walk this morning, I would really like to have someone to talk to on it this morning.

Stiff and sore from all the weeding I did at my sister's yesterday, but we had a great day together with lots of conversation and laughs! Trudy, that is the CUTEST little fairyland cottage. how adorable! wish I was closer. i'd be there in a flash. looks like a beautiful setting.

Nancy, looks like all the rain got pushed away from the coast. we were surrounded by rain, but I think the city got through their fireworks without a rainout. a lot of local municipalities got rained out, though! hope you get to see (and hear) your waterfall. I love waterfalls SO much more than the ocean!

So I just got a phone call from HR at work- the 4 hour event I was to attend on Monday was cancelled. She said is that good news and I said no because now I have no patients to see as they were all canceled due to the must attend meeting (the patient experience- that I still have to schedule to attend before the end of the year) So I told her to call back to the office and ask them to schedule my normal patients on me I do not want to see adults- just saying.
