Ok...we got home from the fireworks and stuff late, so I slept late and am surprised Chris isn't here yet. :) Maybe she's getting ready for a trip to the beach?

Fireworks and Home Run Derby were fun. The winner ended up hitting 40-some home runs total. BUT, his former high school teammate was the runner up and he hit 50 runs total. I know it sounds weird, but they erase all previous home runs for the final round and only count the runs in that final round towards the winner. In any case, it was a whole lot of fun and the fireworks were amazing!

Today, we dip marshmallows and go out to my brother and sister-in-law's. We opted not to go to the parade we've always gone to in the past. It's in a small town 45 minutes away and we always did it for DH's Grandma. Several people are going as it will be the last one and tribute to Grandma (the one who passed about three weeks ago). So very relaxing day...I might see if I can get Ben to go grab a cache with me. Should be a fun night...hopefully. :)

What is everyone else up to?

Oh! Here's an article on the Derby. It was so fun watching those homers! http://www.omaha.com/sports/cws/tex...cle_cfa90852-032f-11e4-ba1b-0017a43b2370.html

Hmmm...Maybe Arthur is giving Chris some problems!! Maybe she doesn't have power. Probably no beach for her.

good morning - thanks Sara for starting this. Today is very low key for us. Tonight the weather is supposed to clear from Author and so we will head to our local park and take in the fireworks. It has actually turned very cool and breezy and it is a nice change! The wind is starting to pick up so I am guess that Author is getting closer. I am betting that Chris headed to PA early as there was not much rain in NJ early today.

Sara glad your day is going to be low key too. Home Run Derby sounds like fun!

Have a great day all! Happy Fourth America!

hi, Sara, Nancy. a low-key day for us, too. but, wow. our weather!! if you could imagine a perfect day, this is it. sunshine, blue skies, breezy and in the mid-70s. we NEVER get good weather for holidays. but we surely did today. the whole weekend is supposed to be ridiculously pleasant. Hubby is doing yard work and i drove my DD's car into the city this morning and got MY CAR BACK!!
all's right with the world! :cheer2:

Trudy, thanks for the well-wishes for the 4th! i get a kick out of this evening. we never go to the big fireworks displays, but we can hear them and sometimes see a bit from our house. and of course, every kid in the neighborhood is outside after dark doing things that make loud popping noises.

today gonna set Hubby to the task of cooking up a few burgers and hot dogs for our dinner, then sit ouside in the breeze, drink more cheap champagne and toast the country's health. lord knows, it needs something to be going on with.

enjoy the day! :becky:

We're low-key today too and like Phylis with incredible weather. We spent a little time looking at birds, watched soccer and will eat in tonight.

Hope Chris is OK and Arthur not a problem.

Thanks for the great image for the 4th, Trudy!

Nancy, glad you'll get to enjoy the fireworks.

Sara, sounds like good times for you too.

Happy 4th to all!
