What a wild week this was. Not because anything exciting happened... just such a weird, off-putting temporal perspective. How is that for a wordy way of saying "wacky?" Bwahaha!
It doesn't help that the news cycle is on crack. Things that happened a few days ago seems like last year. I have pretty much given up on trying to keep up with just the major things going on, such as the Russians trying to hack a sitting Senator's staff/re-election campaign. Or that wildfires are burning through CA. Or that 100's of kids are still not reunited with their parents because they have already been reported without their child! :hurt: Ok, I gotta stop.
So yesterday we had a really nice walk. The weather looked iffy so only another woman showed up and then the yoga instructor. We walked to the small lake on the other side of the Gardens and we saw lots of wildflowers and frogs. There is a boat launch on the lake so I made sure that I told Scott about it, should he ever want a change of scenery to row around and fish.
I chatted with the instructor who teaches at the college with Scott, Leah, and Cait go to. There is a Psychology of Yoga class that is offered there and I know Cait would enjoy that. There is also a Psych of Animals which I *know* that she really want to take but isn't sure that she can. So many of her Psych courses from the Community College transferred in as Electives so she won't have that many open slots to reach her Degree.
I headed over to the FP and brought some fresh sage for the woman that works there. She felt bad that there were other volunteers working since that meant that she couldn't slip in some extra things for me.
Gary, Cait and I took J and W out for a walk again. This time J didn't do as good. She was panicky every time a car drove by or other dogs barked. (She should know that feels!) But she stuck it out but collapsed in a panting heap on the kitchen floor when we got back. I told her that if she walked calmly she wouldn't get so worked up and not need to pant so much. She didn't listen :bounce:
Cait was babysitting so I made chicken and homemade mashed potatoes for dinner. It sucked being in front of the hot stove for over an hour and I was too overheated to enjoy dinner by the time it was ready. A nice, cold glass of white wine after dinner was pretty darn refreshing.
My parents of coming here on their way to PA and we are going to run over to the diner for a sandwich. My mom is getting some conflicting stories on when my dad is actually able to drive. At first, it was "several weeks" and not my dad is saying 6 weeks. My brother was there so hopefully, he has the correct info. I wonder if I still have the texts that he sent to me right after the appts.
Have a very happy Friday!
