Daily Ooo's: Friday, July 26

Happy Friday m'dears! It is sunny and not humid and I have nowhere to go today. Yay!

My life is so boring and I am staring at my monitor wondering what to type about. Yesterday was a really dull day. I cleaned, did a bit of yard work, cooked dinner. Woo hoo. /s But one good thing happened. We sold Caitlyn's old car. We didn't get much money for it but now we don't have to pay insurance on it. I am not sure if New Jersey has the highest car insurance rates in the country but I know we are up at the top. That drop in monthly expenses will help cover the increases in heating and food costs. Sort of. :/

Another good thing about the day was I made pasta with lemon and feta and I topped it with zucchini from the garden. The recipe calls for asparagus but I swapped it with something that came from the garden. I made another batch of pickles too and will have cucumbers coming out of my ears in no time. oh-- and I saw a tiny little eggplant growing!! It is the size of a large gumball and it kind of adorable. I know, I am bonkers. Only I could get so darn excited about a baby eggplant. ound:

I have no plans today. I really need to get some things done around the house that I have been putting off for a long time. Maybe I will do some yardwork and then read a bit on the patio. I need to get some sun so my feet match the color of my legs. The only time I have been in the sun has been in the yard and I have shoes on. So my legs have a bit of tan to them but my feet are white! hah!!

Jean- Ain't that the truth... my life is so same old, same old. But remind me that can be a good thing because when my life goes topsy-turvy, it does it with a vengeance. :nod:
Congrats on finishing the puzzle! I am proud of you for sticking with it. I wish I could have done the same. Can't wait to see the pic!
I am happy that the temps are better for you. I know that most people hate the heat. I was saying to Gary yesterday that I wished that we lived down the shore. He would be miserable if we did since he doesn't do well in the sun and heat.

Felis- Good for you for enjoying yourself being lazy! That makes me really happy to hear. Ugh, I hate when that happens -- you have the *time* to scrap and be creative, but not the *inspiration.* So frustrating. Maybe today it will come to you. I hope it does.
I have to go and see your letter page. I really loved the woman and cat one- so see? You are being creative!
BTW- my mom *still* has not heard from her Dr about the PT. I am getting aggravated for her. But she doesn't call as much as she should because she doesn't want to be a pain. I get that but at the same time, that is their job.

Class yesterday was a challenge and fascinating. We explored using watercolor crystals, something totally new to me. I've posted some from it on my blog. I'm also working on two other pieces, one nearing done and the big one just starting. We also went to the Mexican restaurant again last night. Nice to make a change and we do like the food. DH did his bird survey this morning and took a camera along to get pix of a flowering plant he's trying to ID. And here are pix of the puzzle. The first one is when it started to seem just maybe possible and DH had just found a long-missing piece. The other is it done! It is a painting of a Great Gray Owl by well-known Canadian bird artist Robert Bateman. And the pieces just all look alike.

Chris, sounds like you could have a really good day today. It would be nice to get those feet a little more tan. The pasta sounds good and I really like zucchini with about anything. Selling the old car not only saves money, but now it isn't sitting around either. It will be warmer today but probably not totally in your comfort zone yet (maybe the edge where we can both enjoy it?)

Felis, how sweet to enjoy the comments on your pages that much! You really have been on a roll with them. I can't remember if I commented on the day lily one. It looks so vibrant and happy which I think is how you felt about the flowers. That you went beyond the challenge limits is actually a nice thing (in context) showing where the technique might lead. I liked the contrast between the natural image and the altered one but all the added bits were really an added bonus. And I don't see any reason to be unhappy with your version of vacation. Although a concert could be a goal another time. These days we don't travel much, but we're a LOT older than you. :mrgreen:

Hello girls,
I actually write second post for one day :wink: , but I plan tomorrow to sleep later, so yeah that's the beauty of confusing time zones. Today was my last 'vacation' day, but was nice one! From the morning was too hot, and the dog was hurry to come home. So I left her at home and gone to the center to do some shopping. We considered this and decided that if I buy some stuffs today it is not necessary to go grocery. Yay!
Even better, I was able to find all products for the homemade ice cream, for which Trudy was gives me recipe, Trudy :wave:! It's a really delicious, and it's froze very nice even in refrigerator. You maybe don't remember, but I was complaining that the one I made stay too creamy, not icy as we don't own freezer. As I'm not following paleo I cheated little bit, and replace xylitol, because I don't know what is this, but it's noticed as highly toxic to dogs, which sounds scary. So I bet on a good old aromatized sugar, and chose orange one, which gives nice citrus touch.
Then I scrubbed the bathroom, as my family is from this cold type, which don't hugs or tells we loves, but we do some practical proves that we do care for the others. At the evening tried to take few photos that I have an idea for scrapbook or Instagram. The roses shots again aren't come good, I'm very disappointed. But the other idea came nice.
My parents come at home late and wasn't much chatty, mostly tired from the road (daddy has deviates from his way to pick up mom too). But they brings me lots of photos, and some snacks.
So that was, one vacation week is so short! Now weekend is for cleaning.

Chris, you're the last person I would expect to tell something like that her life is boring! You comes everyday with posts for interesting things. From broken appliances to exhausting fights with insurance company, it's like story for little cartoon fairy which fight with the injustice! Oh, and I love the happy stories too, they are so charm. It's strange but looks like we all feels at this way this summer. I blame the social media, they sell life which looks so much funnier! No, Chris, the pages I made was ideas from before. I have a list where put all good ideas that came to me at busy days and now I just followed my previous notes. I could not do nothing new. I was hoped to make something for Vicki's challenge, or for 10 pics, but it doesn't happen.

Jean, your tries at the new technique are awesome! The second (purple one) reminds me for Jane Austen , somehow. I can see lady silhouette, surrounded by heart, and the feathers around her means that her imagination and hopes fly around. I know your idea was other, but refuse to believe on it LOL . I like it in this romantic context!
WOW, the photo on the puzzle is wonderful, but owl are admired for their ability for mimicry, and everything on it looks like sprig. Who is decided to do this on puzzle? Bravo for been able to make it. Know what, I was thought some time ago, that your bird photos are perfect for puzzle. Have one with duck which is just perfectly for that!
uhh, yes, it's self-centered, but I do scrap only for the compliments :roll: . I didn't know what is called this flower, I often forget what we plant, as we bought what is on deal. But I saw yours pages and think it's look similar :shy: . Isn't it funny that we all have it. Thank you so much for your words! LOL Hahaha, yes I'm as these fans which writs in the celebrity's profile: "please come to my country", instead just to travel for concert. Who knows maybe I'll have luck someday! Oh, don't be silly, dear, age is just a number. Heave lots of reasons people to not travel, but age is not from them. For example I bet that Nancy will travel even when become on 100! :hug:
