Yikes!!!!! It is brutal out there! Wind chills are hitting -25*! I hate to think of how much pressure our furnace is under and how much oil we are burning. At one point yesterday, Gary turned the heat up and the oil burner didn't kick on. It was a terrifying few minutes waiting for it to do that while we were hoping that it hadn't given out.
We ended up getting way more snow that was predicted- probably around 8" but it is blowing around so much that we couldn't keep the driveway cleared. The roads were really bad too so I was glad that no one had to go anywhere.
My neighbor's Dr appt was canceled so he asked me to come today instead. It is easier for me to clean when he isn't home although we usually are able to make it work. So I am going to do that this afternoon.
I got a tiny bit of work done. I put away another couple of boxes of Christmas decorations and paid a few bills. Shredded some old health insurance paperwork from 2016
Brendan came to our house when he first job let him out early. He waited here until the plows came through. We ended up playing the Fake News Headline game and it was more fun with more people and Scott has the same wicked sense of humor as Cait and Gary. I am glad the kids got something good from Gary since they got their height, curly hair, and oily skin from me. haha!!
I have to clean my kitchen this morning and mop the floor really good. W had been doing great with no accidents but I guess no one really wanted to take her outside often enough and she had an accident in the kitchen right before dinner. Gary had just taken her outside and she pooped but didn't pee and I can't blame him for not wanting to stay out there any longer.
My mom called again to tell me more about the food and the keys and the door locking if it blows closed and if the roads are bad to not worry that my dad will be ok if they don't make it up and not to feel obligated and oh yes, they won't have any bread and there are potstickers in the freezer but they are not in a box so she wants them to know what they are if they want to eat them but they need to go in the oven and......
(This is a very accurate recreation of a conversation with my mom. Now you know where I get my Gift of Gab from ound: )
I am going to post this now and re-wrap myself in my blankets.
Stay warm and dry and happy, my lOves!
(Does that sound like a diaper commercial? Or is it just me? )
