HellooooO O-zies! :dance2:
I'm trying out my "energetic on a cold January morning" persona. How did I do? I hope it was convincing since I'll need that all day today. Lauren and I are hosting the HS Pod Field Trip today, and as of last night, there are going to be 21 kids, ranging from 4 to 12 years old. I spent hours revising my plans to accommodate the weather changes and thankfully, I made a Winter Scavenger Hunt for each age group before I knew about the breakdown. The age breakdown, not my mental breakdown. Haha!
It should be a lot of fun. We are doing an observation hike/sit spot/nature journaling. Some science experiments with ice and with baking soda/vinegar. The frozen suncatchers-- we'll make them and leave them outside. Hopefully, when they come back in February, it will be below-freezing. You never know anymore with the weather, right? The frozen bubbles aren't going to work so we scrapped that for this trip.

I was supposed to clean for my friend yesterday but he is still sick- it has been almost a month, poor guy. Gary still feels awful too. Scott stopped in for coffee and he is sick again. I want some bubble wrap against everyone's germs :p
Since I had extra time in the afternoon, I made vegan baked potato soup and potato skins, and holy cow, they were both amazing. I used to make a Bennigan's copycat soup but this was sooo much better. Seriously amazing. And I know I have said it before, but cashews in vegan cooking... mind blown at how that works. *boom*

So that's it along with a lot of brain scramblies this morning. Sorry if my words are kinda all over the place. ;)
Brain scamblies last month were pretty bad too. I got the dog license renewal forms yesterday. Realized that I made the appt for the *wrong dog* last month for the rabies vaccine. I was so confused when Gary brought W home after the appt and said that she was up to date on rabies but was due for Distemper. I thought maybe I had the wrong vax info, nope! I had the wrong dog. Now I have to get J the rabies vax before I can renew her license. Blergh.

Anyway. I am going to shut up now.
HAGD!

A quick request and then I'll get on with the personals-- Pigeon is having surgery today. She has a small mammary tumor. She is young and in great health but still, it is always a little nervewracking when a rat needs surgery. I know Caitlyn will appreciate any good thoughts for Pidge.
TY!

Got 8,000 of my 10,000 steps in on the beach.
Nice!!!! I'm not jealous, nope, not even a little. (ha, I am sooo jealous! :rotfl:)
Hope you had a wonderful time on the beach and in the hot tub!

@BrightEyes Great news that you are sleeping better, good thoughts to you that it lasts :)

@bcgal00 I have never been big on breakfast myself, it has only been relatively recently that I would have and at all and that's usually a small bowl of cereal. My "advice" FWIW, is to keep in mind that no one says breakfast food has to be eaten in the morning and vice versa. If a sandwich or soup sounds good at 8 am, go for it!
LOL-ing at Taz's hearing. This was how we finally determined that Ray wasn't ignoring us-- when we would get the "good" treats out and she wouldn't come running.
get out with Remi before tackling the tree.
I read that wrong and thought that Remi was going to tackle the tree, not the way I imagined you'd want it taken down :lol23:

@AK_Tracy Yup, doggie tongues are fast! That's interesting about the collagen added to your coffee. I'm going to look into that.
Hope your house is in (better) order.
Mine's still a mess but it is getting a little better. I have to find the box in the attic for the stockings and tree skirt. I know it is up there, that is where they came from but darned if I can find it now.

@vickyday Drat about the 2019 photos! That's crazy that the whole year disappeared. Glad you had a good day with Ilene!

@mimes1 Sorry that you have the flu! I'm glad that Mark got you tot he Urgent Care but drat that its too late for Tamiflu. Feel better!!

@Cherylndesigns You stay off that foot!! Hope that you are settling back to"normal" after the trip!!

hugs!

Good morning lades. I am up earlier than usual, still didn't beat Chris though LOL. I'm heading out in an hour to pick up a friend and we'll drive the back roads north east of Calgary, looking for snowy owls. I've got two cameras and binoculars. Fingers crossed. We are going to an area known for them but we could drive all day and not spot any. They are extremely hard to find, blending into their surroundings very well. But I hope we get lucky.

All the xmas stuff is put away. The house is back to normal again. I want to get a few photos sent off for printing so will look thru photos this wkend. I put together a greenery arrangement for my office. I want to look for a bit of color to add to it. I'll look a Michaels this wkend.

@faerywings I put collagen in coffee (mix it up with a mini blender stick) and have regular, caramel and choc flavor. I've been reading about dietary requirements as a senior and higher protein is required so this is a good way to get the protein and help my joints, skin, cholesterol and heart. Sounds like a fun day with the kids. Positive vibes sent for little Pidge.

I need to go get ready. HAGD everyone.

How do they know about the tumors? Are they subject to getting them so they"watch" for them?

Good Morning!

I'm trying out my "energetic on a cold January morning" persona. How did I do?
You did great!!! Hope your hike isn't too cold. We're sitting here at zero. At least it doesn't say -0. And yes sometimes it throws the negative sign in the temp :giggle4: Cause -0 is so much colder then just 0. :floorlaugh:

Not much happening today. Got the house de-decked yesterday. Had all four guys helping me. Kids un-trimmed the tree while I Got groceries then we put it all away and vacuumed the whole house. Feels so good to have it all back to normal.

Todays goal, scrap some AJ and challenges.

Have a wonderful day.

Sending good thoughts to Pidge!

We had a fabulous day touring Fraser Island. Absolutely stunning spot! But after 13 hours in a shaky 4wd we're all a bit battered.

On the not-so-great side, the busy itenerary and physical activities of the past week caught up with my MIL. She started having some pains when we got back, and ended up spending the night in the er for some tests. Really hoping it's just exertion and not something more serious.

Oh dear, hope MIL is doing okay.
