Who wants to help me put the cap on the end of this very long (to me) week? Should we meet for drinks at 5 pm?

:wine4::drinkbuddies::drunk:

I had another "what did I do all day" kinda day. I cleaned in the morning: the LR, kitchen, and main bathroom. I did yoga for low back pain. I'm still so stiff and today my neck/shoulder is not thrilled with me either. The cold weather always does me in. And yuck, it snowed too, only a dusting again but the air was so damp and chilly. I asked Sam if either the vet where she works, or her coworker who runs a cat hospice at her house, could use the towels. I had to run them over and I went as soon as Gary came back with the car since it was already warmed up. I know I wouldn't want to leave the house and sit in a cold car so the timing was perfect. ;)

So yeah, it was another day with no real plans and it's annoying. Sitting at my desk hurts my back so I can't even scrap for very long. I started a LO yesterday and had to take so many breaks. Then I lost my train of thought with it and gave up.

My big plans for today are so exciting I can't contain myself.
I am going to scrub my bathroom and the shower while I wash my hair.
:housekeeping::showering2:

I know.... how cool is that? Who is jealous?
:waving1 :waving1 :waving1

All of you? You can put your hands down now.
:giggle4:

I hope that everyone has more exciting plans than I do, HAGD!

Quick in and out.
The back is not better. I might just have to go to the doctor.
Just not feeling great. Prayers would be appreciated!
Have a good day.
Did you go to the doctor yet? If it isn't better -- you should get in today before the weekend makes it harder to get an appt.
Lots of good thoughts coming to you~~~~
We are on our annual Florida get-away. One week is always to whatever beach place I can get a timeshare trade into. Last year we were in Ormond Beach and I was SO IRRITATED that it was too cold to go out on the beach so I worked hard to get us someplace farther south. This year we have a delightful place in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; I love it! Although it's been cloudy some days, I've had a couple beautiful beach days and am looking forward to meeting an old friend for lunch today in Fort Lauderdale. After this we will be off to Ft. Myers to see my mom for a week, then we will be on a coast-to-coast bike tour, 250 miles from St Pete to Cape Canaveral.
This sounds wonderful!!! Soak up all of that sunshine for me and have a wonderful visit with your mom. ♥ Have a safe trip on the bike tour too.
Yup-- I love that there is no algorithm on Bluesky and no ads. I pretty much only see posts from people I choose to see. Maybe that is myopic but it is better than seeing all of the junk that crowds in at the other sites.
Well yesterday we went to Tampa airport to pick up our granddaughter and out from behind a wall jumps our daughter "SURPRISE"
I am so happy to have both of them so we are off on adventures , so much fun. Today to Tarpon Springs for shopping and lunch then facial night at the club by Mary Kay. Tomorrow to Lowry Zoo for the day it should be pretty warm with some great photo-ops. Saturday breakfast with on old friend from CT by Sunday we will be ready for a quiet day.
That's soooooo wonderful!!!! I would have loved to have seen your face when you saw your DD. :lovey3: You are going to have so much fun together.
Any updates from the MRI?

Yesterday felt like winter. Was so beautiful to be in the. church kitchen and the snow swirling all around. Felt like being in a. snow globe. We didn't get much, just 3" but its now white and bright again. Was so nice driving home with more light reflecting.
You make the snow sound so pretty. Too bad I know it's a lie.

@bcgal00 Remi is so smart that she knows that the 2nd pot of coffee is "her time." :D

Some of course do not know who my brother was, but most do as he and Veronica used to be very active in our hiking group.
I didn't realize that your brother was part of this hiking group. It must have made the hike easier with the shared grief and harder- also with the shared grief. :hug3:
I hope that the fresh air, exercise, and wonderful company helped heal a little of your heart.

As for the big hiking group- a lot of the guided hikes I go on have a cap on the number of people (the most is about 25 people) and they have 3, sometimes 4 people keep tabs on everyone. You are right, when there are a lot of people if hard to keep the group even somewhat together. Do they use a "sweep" to stay in the back for any stragglers?

How has the weather been by Heather? Any more crazy cold/snow days for the boys at school?

Wow... had quite an unsettling evening... went to bed and fell asleep before 9PM. I was startled awake at 11PM by a phone call on my landline. Caller ID show "Emergency Alert Action Call" with a 800 number. But when I answered there was silence.. no voice or recording. Our city does have a "Red Code" system to alert in case of fire, gas leak, crime or other emergency near by. I was going to call the number back but accidently hit erase from my caller-ID instead of redial. I then got up and checked on TV and on-line to see if there was an emergency near... nada. Needless to say, I had a hard time falling back asleep... and I woke up before 5 AM and checked the news. NADA... Been feeling unsettled all day!!!
That is unsettling, especially with all of the wildfires in the news. Did you ever find out what it was about?

Here's to a fantastic day, my friends!

So you are nursing a sore back, too! So sorry to hear that. Hope the yoga helps. Vegging in my recliner yesterday seems to have helped some. I'm hoping another day of vegging and rest will do the trick.

No doctor appointment. I decided to tough it out by resting in my recliner all day with Tylenol and only get up to use the bathroom. And when I feel a cough coming on I bend over my knees and that helps tremendously! Even after cat napping all day I slept ok last night. Hoping today and possibly tomorrow vegging will have me ready for Sunday!

Good morning,
The back is better today but I'm not going to push it. So at least another day of vegging hopefully will do the trick!
Have a great day.

Morning, all. I had a good sleep last night... from 8PM until 7:20AM!!! WOW... feeling much better this morning. Never did find out what the Emergency Phone call was about. Decided it was nothing that affected me or my neighborhood.... no fires in the state or swat situations,, etc. No point in worrying about it.

Today I will be doing laundry :laundry: and while that is going will see about organizing the paperwork folders for 2025. Yes, I bought the folders yesterday... and got the tax package from my tax gal along with the 1st of the 2024 tax statements. Off to get that started... will be back later. HAGD

Good Morning everyone, it is a clear blue sky, but chilly morning here. I had a day of doing not much of anything yesterday, but I did get out to my fav Craft Store and bought a couple of things that I thought I needed. I got a GC for the store from my son for Christmas, so I used that for my purchases. :lovey3: I still have some $$ left on it, so I will wait to use that until the next time I go there. I walked to the mailbox in the sunshine and took the In-Laws their mail, FIL got a notice to renew his drivers licence and he and MIL both said Uh Oh!!! I guess that means they are worried he won't be able to renew without taking a test and he probably won't pass.
I think that since we have been home from Ottawa I have only seen him drive the car once, and that was to church. If he doesn't pass his drivers test I guess we will be taking turns driving them to where they need to go. FIL is not feeling very well, seems he has a very bad cold, he couldn't have gotten it from my Gary, he never went over to their place until his cold was all cleared up. MIL blames it on standing out in the cold without a coat on, while he watched the trees being taken down in the front yard. I told her that colds are from a virus, not standing out in the cold. She thought I was nuts :giggle4:. Oh well hopefully she does not get it! I went over to SIL Linda's later in the afternoon to help her put her furniture back in her living room. She had her fireplace re-done and it took a long time to get it done, (almost 10 days) so she was very happy to have her house back to normal. The fireplace looks amazing, so very modern and classy!! No real plans for today, so I hope that my mojo is returning to me and I can get a page scrapped today. I need to make a grocery list for tomorrow, but other than that no real plans.

Who wants to help me put the cap on the end of this very long (to me) week? Should we meet for drinks at 5 pm?

:wine4::drinkbuddies::drunk:
I will take you up on that offer!! What kind of wine should I bring?? Do you prefer white or red?? :drinkbuddies:. I hope your back feels better soon! That sucks that you can't sit at your computer long enough to get some scrapping done! Hope it doesn't bother your back too much scrubbing the shower. Oh and yes we do use a sweep on all of our hikes, not sure if putting a cap on the number of people would work for us, as we don't really sign up for each hike, we just show up or we don't. We let the hike leader know if we are going to meet them at the trailhead instead of the meet up place in town though, so they know to expect us. Guess it will be a subject to discuss at the next hike leaders meeting.

Well I suppose I should get in the shower and get dressed before Heather calls and then off to the store to see if anything jumps out at me to start a page. Have a fun :friday:everyone.

Good Morning my Lovely O's

Who wants to help me put the cap on the end of this very long (to me) week? Should we meet for drinks at 5 pm?
Pick me!!! :drinkglance:Pick me!!!!! :drinkbuddies:I'm there!!!! However, for you 5p. is 1p for me. But hey its Friday and I'm okay with day drinking! :giggle4:
You make the snow sound so pretty. Too bad I know it's a lie.
What? **stammers, sputtering disbelief** What??? You think I lie???? the snow IS pretty!!!
Just know I am totally laughing and found your comment hilarious. :floorlaugh:
The back is better today but I'm not going to push it.
I'm glad the back is better. Hope your extra day of nothing really helps it feel great. Seems like a lot of back issues going around right now. Almost like a cold.
Today I will be doing laundry :laundry: and while that is going will see about organizing the paperwork folders for 2025.
Oooohhhhh Good morning Laundry Buddy!!!! :laundryline: That's on my list today too. Get the laundry done. Thanks for the reminder to make an appointment for taxes though. I forgot.
MIL blames it on standing out in the cold without a coat on, while he watched the trees being taken down in the front yard. I told her that colds are from a virus, not standing out in the cold. She thought I was nuts :giggle4:.
Isn't it funny how they believe being cold leads to a cold. And were crazy for knowing its not true. :giggle4: So funny yet what do you do? Cant keep telling them cause they wont believe it.

Todays not too exciting so I am gonna take Chris's challenge of who's less exciting. I will meet my friend for bible study and then wait the day away waiting for my car to be done. They had the parts. They hoped it would be done yesterday. Today will be laundry as well. Need to get something washed after being away from home Monday and Tuesday.

Have a wonderful Friday!!!

Good morning ladies. I am heading out with Remi in a few minutes for her morning walk, the temps are dropping and will be really cold again for the next 3-4 days. Then it will warm up again thankfully, so it won't be too bad when D goes to meet the guys from the coast who are coming out for a conference on Monday. He'll spend the afternoon and evening with them, has booked a hotel and will come home the next afternoon. Then the following day he will go back and pick up one of the guys who will stay with us for a few days. That'll be really nice for D and I like Garrett so will enjoy visiting with him too.

We are heading out for Mexican Train in a bit and then staying on for the potluck dinner and dice game night. We won't be home all day until after 7:30 or so.

I'm making a ramen noodle/coleslaw salad to bring and will make enough to keep for me at home for a few meals.

@faerywings Take care of your back. Don't push yourself.

@AK_Tracy I'm team Tracy LOL - I too think the snow is pretty (sorry Chris, I disagree with you). We had a dusting last night and it looks so pretty. We are getting snow for most of the last week or so of the month. I love it (just not the snow removal part).

Remi is whining and bugging me to get out which I should do b/c I still need time to get the salad ready and get out of here in an hour.

HAGD everyone.

Wooo Hoooo!!! Another snow lover!!!! It is so pretty and makes everything clean and white and just sparkle. I agree, removal is work but most days I dont mind that either, but I have a plow so I dont shovel.

@faerywings I feel your pain. Add me to the sore back pile. I've been miserable all week, finding all kinds of creative crazy ways to get out of bed in the morning. Yesterday I went to the doctor, have steroids and muscle relaxant. Still in alot of pain, but it's improving. Sitting with a heat pad on my back is currently my favorite thing, so I actually got a layout done yesterday. Mark and Belle won't let me bend or lift anything, and the ladies at work helped me with all the things today. I think I did it trying to scoot our 110# dog over out of my spot in our bed.

Belle is getting settled, she's so easy to live with, she's such a joy. I'm glad she's here. Still waiting for her start date due to waiting for Background check from CA.

@bcgal00 I really admire all your activities!

Off to go try to scrap a page!

We have dry snow here so have a snow removal machine and a blower so it's generally not too bad unless we get a big dump.

I remember hearing to never go out in the cold with your hair wet, too, or you would catch cold, LOL!
