Man oh man oh man. Yesterday was truly draining.

The news was so intense, so many videos being posted and I stay way far away from them. It is hard enough to read the news, I don't need to see and hear it. :( However, I think that the videos and statements these very courageous and well-spoken teens are sharing should be required viewing by the members of Congress.

J was even worse than I expected at the vet's but this time we were prepared. Cait didn't go with me, she was so tired she couldn't get out of bed. That was a bummer but I warned the techs that J likes to jump off of the table so we had three of us holding her while the vet did the blood draw. By the time I got home, my muscles were straining from the effort. It was no wonder that I also forgot to ask about W and the fact that she is still having accidents in the house. I think that it is more on us since she tends to have them when we are "distracted" like when I am cooking dinner and no one else is around

I cleaned, then cooked dinner. Fried up chicken cutlets which is one of Scott's favorites. Boxed stuffing and mashed potatoes since there was no way I was making them from scratch too. By the time I sat down, I was Done. Stick a fork in me.ha!!

Today, my plan is to start our taxes. Not sure I have in it me to deal with that, but honestly, who does? I need to suck it up and get working.

On a good note- it is well above freezing so the rain is going to be just that. I was thinking that I would take the dogs to the park, but since it started to rain it will be one giant mud puddle.

Have fun today no matter what you do!

Nancy- that is one more reason that I don't listen to the news, I cringe every time DT opens his mouth. To have a press conference about this tragedy and not even use the word "gun" once? Unbelievable!
Were you able to get a good nap in, that stinks about waking up and not being able to go back to sleep. Your dinner sounds good! Hope that the Devils were able to get a win!

Trudy- I am so sorry that your friend passed away. And that is terrible how she passed too. :( My neighbor's cousin died last week in a similar manner. He had abdominal pain, has surgery, turned out to be cancer and they had to close him back up after he had a stroke on the table. He was able to be kept alive until the family got there and then he was gone. Cancer sucks.:(
I hope that you are dealing better today... Hugs to you my friend.
That is how I feel with my mom- so un-tech savvy- but I can't even help her when I am with her. LOL. You are a good mom and grandma to spend your day trying to help.
Your chicken dinner sounds 100% drool-worthy!

Rae- how sweet of D to make such an effort to get you the right chocolate! He is a keeper!
That is so smart of you to sign off on the workload. You have way more on your plate than any other person I know right now. Don't forget to take care of you!!

Jean- it was a good day to have gloomy weather. We had the sun come out in the afternoon and Cait said she even drove with her window down a bit, even if she had the heated seat on :p
How did the Church record research go? I just said to Gary that I think I am going to wait for Scott's DNA results to come back and we will take the 30-day trial at the same time. Maybe we can work on it together or if not, he will let me log in for him.
You and your DH-- that is so romantic! I am happy that you both enjoy V-Day!

Hugs to all of you!! HAGD!

morning - It is grey and the rain is ending. My Devils defeated the Hurricanes 5-2. It was an awesome game. My DIL and her brother went to the season ticket holder room to pick up our T-shirts and came away with club tickets. OMgosh we were in row 6 and we had all the food we could eat. It was so fun. The only crazy thing was trying to get my DH to the correct section. He walked around the arena the wrong direction so he essentially circled the arena to get to me. So so silly. But he was happy as he got to eat and eat and eat. Then as we walked out of the arena it was pour rain. Yuck. But at least it was warm rain. Came home and watched the USA men's hockey team defeat Slovakia 2-1. So at least they won one game. Luther is at doggie day care. My DH said the place was packed with a line outside. He will be happy to have so many friends to play with. Today is calm with all the boys gone.

I have just one comment on the shooting. I thought the deaths of the youngest children at Sandy Hook would cause change but now I think this might as these high school students and their parents are speaking up. I love it. They are amazing kids and I hope Congress listens to them.

Chris what a busy day! I am sure after cooking and the stress of J at the vet you were done early. My DH does not even think about getting stuff ready for taxes until March. He used to do it himself and he still could but he finds it too aggravating. Love our accountant. Have a calm day.

Trudy that is so sad about your friend's death. No wonder you did not sleep well. Love how you know your tech. I don't know where I would be if I was not able to do this stuff myself. I think working in research which required lots of tech made it seem less intimidating. But seems like you daughter has her hands full and just is not that interested lol. Besides you do such a great job! Hope you get some scrapping done.

Rae sounds wonderful if you can hand off some of the workload. You have so much on your plate you need more time for you. Your dinner sounds yummy.

Jean first we have a heat wave and then this weekend we are back to having snow. Luckily I have no games to go to as my team is playing away. Your senior group seems so fun. Good luck with the German data.

Hi Felis!
Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I was up early this morning and made pancakes for DH. He was very happy to not have cereal again this morning :becky: It is :rain: off and on today, but not much happening for me today, so thats ok. Temps dropping down to -7C at night for the next few nights, so I have to remember to bring in the hummingbird feeder so it doesn't freeze solid. I will head to Walmart for a few things today, not my favourite place to shop, but the only place I can get the few items that I need. Other than that I have a free day to do whatever. I started a page yesterday, but as usual it is taking me forever to get it finished LOL. Perhaps I will try to start a painting today also. Heather has given up trying to get the add ons that she wants for her andriod box and will just wait until one of us can be there to do it for her. Its not like Mason doesn't already have plenty to watch anyway. I was happy that her parcel arrived yesterday just in time for her birthday today. DH and I will call her and sing Happy Birthday to her this afternoon when he gets home.

Chris - Thank goodness you had lots of help holding down your powerful pup! I bet you were exhausted by the time supper was over with! I feel the same way about the videos I try stay away from watching as it just gets me all worked up. We all cringe when DT opens his mouth and wonder WTH is going on inside that pea sized brain of his :becky: Thanks for the comforting words about my friend, she was a real inspiration to me when I was working at the bank. I will miss her! Yes I suppose it is tax time again isn't it! Wonder how much more we will have to pay the gov't this year :mmph: DH does our taxes, but I wish he would let someone else do it for a change, it really stresses him out LOL. Good luck with getting yours started, Kudos to you for doing it yourself, I would not know where to even begin LOL.

Felis - Happy Chinese New Year to you also!! I hope that the year of the Dog is good to you!

Nancy - Glad to hear that last nights game went your way! Too funny that your hubby walked the whole arena LOL.. How great that you got such good seats, T-Shirts and I bet the food was great too! A pretty good night for you! I hope that you are right and that congress will listen to all of these brave kids! But I highly doubt it! Hope Luther has a great time with his buddies at doggie day care. I just have to share this photo that my DIL posted of Storm with all of her buddies at Doggie Day Care, the lady that takes the dogs goes on these amazing hikes with all of the dogs, they are totally exhausted by the end of the day!
Storm is the one in the middle looking right into the camera.

Rae - Glad you and your DH had a nice quiet night together and that you have decided to cut back on some of your workload! You could use a break!! How sweet that D took the time to get you just the right chocolates too! What a great guy! I like to try to keep up with all the tech stuff, I don't want to have to depend on someone else to fix everything for me in the way of computer issues anyway, not sure how long I will be able to keep up with all the changes that are happening with technology but I sure am going to try LOL.

Jean - the group at the Seniors centre seems like a fun bunch and hope that you were able to find out the info you wanted about the DNA match! Hope the sun comes out for you today!

I am off to empty the dishwasher, make the bed then hit the shower and get to Walmart :mmph: Hope to be back here later to finish off my page and get it posted today! Have a wonderful Friday ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. I am going to keep this short, I want to get to work and keep busy today. I am feeling drained and tired.

Will pop out at lunch time to get Taz's nails clipped and run a few errands. D is on call this wkend so will be in and out. Maybe I'll get some time to scrap a page or two. I haven't been scrapping much at all lately and miss it.

I'll come back later to read everyone's personals. I am feeling really blah so need another coffee, need to focus on work and get outside my head, let go of this feeling. Maybe I'll take Taz into the pet store later, that always makes me laugh.

Have a great day everyone.

I need to do some things this gray day to prepare for the computer genealogy group meeting tomorrow, but nothing else special on tap. I think we have the new German church records figured out pretty much and I'm ready to try contacting the DNA match.

Chris, poor you with yesterday's efforts. Doing taxes can't be good for your mental health, but can't be avoided. Some of the news can't be avoided either. Hope you keep warm and insulated today.

Felis, happy year of the dog to you too. Trudy has a great photo to celebrate!

Nancy, another fun night of hockey for you! Your "shopping karma" seems to keep coming through with your team when things get upgraded. Enjoy the quiet time without the boys.

Trudy, nice you making pancakes for DH. Making him happy in the morning must get both your days started nicely. Hope it stays that way even with the colder temperatures and thinking of your friend. Then you'll get to sing to H. Love the picture of Stormy and all the dogs.

Rae, hope the workload is a little better now and you get to do some scrapping. Hope Taz is easy to get nails clipped and you have a calm day.

Hope it's a good day for everyone.
