Happy Friday!!!!:bliss:
Did everyone make it through this first week of December OK? I am tired, but happy to know that in 36 hours the Fair will be over and I can move along to my next big project.
I am seriously insane, in case ya hadn't figured that one out yet. I decided to clean my kitchen yesterday, *before* I went to clean at my client's house. The cabinets were all dusty and the counters had crumbs under all of the appliances. But now that one small area of my house is shiny and clean. (For now) Gary is going to dust the LR and DR tomorrow and Sunday will be decorating.
Last night we watched Rudolph and Simpson's Christmas episode. I think at some point we need to get a few new Christmas movies into our repertoire. Rudolph is on VHS. LOL

Today, I am off to look for something small for Leah for Hanukkah, just in town. Then it will be last minute prepping and packing up for tomorrow. What is done is done!
Say it with me, please. "What's done, is done!"
(Thank you)

What good stuff do you have happening today?

I am starting to think about one of my bigger projects, aside from shopping. I put a note up on the chalkboard for a list of the Must Bake Cookies. Back in the day, I used to bake 10-11 different types of cookies. Last year I think I scaled it down to about 8. I need to do that again, which is hard because how the heck do you limit cookies?? hence-- I am enlisting my family to do that for me.

So imagine my glee that today is:
National Cookie Day! Did you know that the English word "cookie" is derived from the Dutch word "koekje," which means little cake? Dutch bakers used to test oven temperatures on small amounts of batter so that they would not waste the entire cake mix if the temperature wasn't right. It was not long before they discovered that these tiny pieces of cooked batter were actually quite tasty!
Cookies come in all different flavors, shapes, and sizes. To celebrate National Cookie Day, bake a few batches of your favorite variety and invite your friends over for a cookie swap!

Do you do holiday baking? What is your favorite cookie recipe?

Trudy- we had rainy and windy weather for a couple of days and yesterday , it was soooo windy and cold. I think it is supposed to get a bit warmer today. Hope that you weather gets better. I also hope that you got a good night's sleep. I saw the coffee smilies! Expect to see lots of them from me. Looking fwd to seeing your chalkbd projects too.

Rae- it is all business expenditures, so Isay go ahead and but a new computer. Of course, I am not the one who has to pay for it so easy for me to say. hahah!

Kat- congrats on winning the FitBit! Let me know what you think of it. For the last year my mom has wanted to get me one esp with my heart rate problems, but I can't see her spending that much $$.
How was The Wiz?
Your neighbor sounds wacky!!!

Time to go, Cait wants to drive to school, she needs more practice and her test in on the 21st.

love and hugs and:cofbath:

Morning Chris - and O's! Enjoy the trip into town - I feel like I should be screaming at you, "Slow down!" ... but I also know that would be futile (we're two peas in a pod! LOL). Eh, you know your boundaries, and you're a big girl ... have fun!! I hope the Fair is hugely successful for you! Good luck to Cait on her driving practice and test - it took Stan three tries to get his license ... the first time he didn't even make it out of the parking lot, he was so anxious!! Second time he was gone for nearly half an hour and still failed. Kept rolling through stop signs. When I asked Stan where they drove, I just told him he was such a dumb S&%T! The instructor was giving him EVERY CHANCE to pass and took him through AT LEAST five stop signs! :gaah::frusty: Third try (and final attempt before having to do the Road 'n' Range course $$$ if he failed) and the DMV was REALLY busy, but he'd made an appointment, so he jumped the queue ... was out about 15 minutes. Done. Passed. Phew.

The Wiz last night was good, but the narrator person got really annoying real fast. "Dorothy sits down." Well, duh, we can see that. Of course, I was looking for the screw-ups, just for fun - it was a live event, after all ... so the camera person not backing out of the shot fast enough was pretty funny.

Today is Friday (duh) ... payday ... and this weekend is pack for Australia. I'll have to pull out my summer clothes again. Tomorrow I'm going to treat myself to a movie (by myself!), probably the last in the Hunger Games series (love the books and movies), and then a mani-pedi.

Morning ladies... Rained so hard last night it woke me up a few times! I think maybe we should start building that Ark!! So strange that all summer long we cried for rain and now the tap won't shut off LOL. Here is my finished project... an old frame that was gold I repainted antique white and then put blackboard paint on the ugly old picture that was in it, got rid of the glass and added a bit of Christmas fluff to it. I really need a better chalk to work with as the only chalk I have is sidewalk chalk that I got for the kids. So my next shopping trip will include some chalk for me on the list.

Chris - You really do need to get some new Christmas movies LOL. I think you are the only person I know that still has a VHS player! Glad you found the coffee smileys! Love that one of swimming in the coffee cup! Have fun with Cait and her driving practice, I know how stressful it can be to get the kids behind the wheel!! I am sure that she is improving lots! Hope you can whittle down your choices of cookies to bake, I am not sure that I will do any baking at all this year. No one home for Christmas and DH and I certainly do not need the extra calories! Hope you find something downtown for Leah and that your craft fair is a huge success and worth all of the time and effort!!

Kat - Lucky you to win the Fit Bit!! Awesome prize!! Yikes on the many driver test attempts for Stan, too funny that he kept rolling through the stop signs, NERVES!!! He must have been totally freaked out! I am sure he is a much better driver now. My son has a lead foot and has had numerous speeding tickets, he is good when the family is with him, but when he is alone he thinks he is Mario Andretti!! Slow down man!! It scares the hell out of me!! Have fun packing for your big trip and the Hunger Games final is pretty good!!

Well I am here at the computer all day again today, working on my calendar and then off to a Christmas Party tonight for DH's work, lots of prizes given away at this one, big draw of $5000.00 for one lucky person, keep your fingers crossed that it is either DH or myself!!! Boy that would sure be a great Christmas gift!! Woot!! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Another busy day for me. My last batch of editing should hopefully be done by tomorrow. I'm going to edit like crazy today. My butt is going to be glued to this chair today.

Chris - good luck with the fair, hope you sell lots. I don't do a lot of baking but one recipe that I make is Martha Stewarts Kitchen Sink cookies. My hubs loves rice krispie squares so I always make those at xmas time. We love butter tarts but I don't make my own, I buy them.

Kat - Enjoy the movie. I can't wait to see it too!

Trudy - the rain has lightened up here but they forecast about 2 wks of rain....ugh.

Off I go to edit now. I'll be so glad to finish this up and then can work on my xmas card. Have a great day, everyone!

good morning! Missed yesterday as my DH and I had lots of errands to get done. We had to have some papers notarized, shopped for some new toys for Luther and then my DH had another dentist appt. Luther is doing really well and did not mind at all staying in his crate. Took him for a good walk when we got home. Finally the day was sunny. Watched my NJ Devils win 5-1 over the Hurricanes. It was awesome! The Devils held their first ever fathers and sons trip and maybe that motivated them to really win the game. Now tonight my team plays at home vs the Flyers and I hope my team can play that well again and their fathers will be there too.

Chris so glad that you are finished up with craft items. What is done is done! Cleaning sounds great! My kitchen floor needs a good scrubbing from muddy paws. And I don't do Christmas baking. If I made that many cookies I would be so fat. I love cookies! My fav are chocolate chip and peanut butter.

Kat I remember my driving test and I have a horrible time with left and right and the driving examiner told my parents that they should paint a L and R on my hands so I would know which way to turn. But I did pass. Hope packing goes well!

Trudy are you glad at least that it is rain and not snow. Love the frame and chalk message! Have fun at the party!

Rae love that you have a fun doggie day care that is awesome! I can imagine that Taz is one tired dog when he gets home. Have fun editing!

I am late in posting.

Trudy, what a great chalkboard thingie!! I never think of things like that...

Today is "stare out the window at the rain and get a mini-kit done" day. I should think about changing out of my pjs at some point, too...

LOl Heather stay-in-PJ days are awesome!

Holiday cookies ... yum. I'm not much of a baker (do Pillsbury cookies count?! :suspicious: ). During the holiday season, though, I always used to look forward to the baking that my grandmother would do - usually coconut ice (confectionary), rum balls (oh, soooo good!), and cookie-wise, traditional shortbread.
