wow, it is crazy that it is Friday again already. What a week! LOL I was having coffee with BFFATS yesterday and we agreed that the way the holidays fall, everything seems all chopped up. It really doesn't help that I cleaned on Thursday instead of Wednesday and I am food shopping on Friday instead of Tuesday.

I was mentally all over the place yesterday. I tried to clean here, clean there, visit with BFFATS whom I hadn't seen since the end of August. And soon, I am going to have to contend with taking down the Christmas tree and decorations-- but that will be for next week.

I hope that if I get to ShopRite early enough, it won't be too much of a pain, especially since it is raining. I never called the insurance company so that is back on my To Do list.
My brother is also "retiring" today after almost 30 years with his company. Retiring/let go/downsizing/whatever they call it when a huge corporation wants to save money by letting the high salary people go so they can hire younger people for less money? He works at Verizon Wireless in the Legal Dept. He started there right after he graduated college when it was Bell Atlantic, then Bell Atlantic Mobile. He is getting a good severance package and he is thinking of going back to school but I cannot imagine how strange it must feel for him. I texted him a bit yesterday to let him know that I was thinking of him, but haven't heard back. He must be so busy getting everything wrapped up before he leaves. He is not the type of person who would leave any of his accounts hanging.

I got a really sweet and kind email from my SIL too. She felt terrible about the accident and Brendan's car. She knows *everyone* and said that she was going to ask around to see if anyone is getting rid of a car or would have a loaner... I had to thank her but told her not to bother, that Brendan's step-father would get involved and ruin her good intentions. As I was telling Caitlyn about it, I didn't get that far into it, when she said the same thing- that it wouldn't be fair to Aunt Diane, that George would end up blame her for something. I could tell that SIL was shocked and dismayed-- no one on any of the sides of my family is like that, we all help everyone as best we can and she is the same way.
:(

Enjoy the day!! xoxo

Kay- were you successful in getting your errands done in time before the second snowstorm hit? I hope that you don't end up getting too much of that icky stuff. I need a haircut too- my ends are fried LOL I got some $ for Christmas that I will be towards that in the spring. One nice thing about having long hair is that ponytails are always an option.
That is one good thing about taking the decorations down -- having the house back to "normal." I am sorry that you had to do it because you were blue, but I can see why it would.
How many sons and daughters do you have? 2 and 3? I wish I had a better memory for things like that. Any luck finding a Blu-Ray?
Gotta take the dogs out, back soon!
I am back-- not raining too much ATM, whew!

Nancy- totally understand how the days can get away from you. I am not surprised at all that everyone loved the calendars. What fun Devils gifts were given too! Maybe their good energy will have given the team a boost and perhaps won last night? :D

That is fantastic news that the car "only" needed a new battery! Much better than having to buy a new one, that is for sure.
Scott showed me a couple of pics that he took- the place looks amazing. I never heard of it before and there were indoor and outdoor gardens all lit up.

Trudy- My brother got Gary an Echo thingamagigy and Gary has been having fun trying to get it to answer things like who is our best dog or tell jokes too.

Have you been able to get it to say anything silly?
Hope that your Gary feels much better today. Maybe (just maybe!!) he will want to take it easy this weekend and not make you run errands tomorrow. haha!!

Jean- great job on getting everything done for the newsletter. Is it really only once a year that you do the trivia puzzle? It seems like that was only a couple of months ago. Yikes, time flies.
The insurance rebate is only for $45 but every little bit helps! I hope that I can get through today and not be on hold with that godawful music again. But you know I will...

Clara!! Hi girl!!! Sending some eye-poppy hugs to you and the fam!

Morning ladies... I was up at 4am Ughh!! Oh well I spent the last hour trying to get a program working for my Instagram account. I have not posted much there because it is such a pain to try to post anything on Instagram on my iMac. I tried Ona's suggestion of using Gramblr, but it is not letting me in grrrr!! Oh well I will keep trying I guess. As usual I got distracted yesterday and did not even open my photoshop program. I will attempt to do a page today (wonder what will come up to keep me from scrapping today?) I did start my painting, but so far not at all happy with it, so I will begin again. It is a very rainy morning and I have a ton of laundry to do, so it is a good day to get that job done.

Chris - Wow has it really been since August that you last saw your BFFATS? My goodness where did the time go! ITA that the days are all messed up with the Holidays being the way they are! I can't believe that it is Friday already. I am not too sure that DH will want to run any errands this weekend, he is not feeling good, sore throat and very congested so he will most likely be resting up this weekend and hopeful feeling much better for the New Year's Eve dance that we are supposed to go to. Good luck with your grocery shopping today and getting your phone call made for the Ins. rebate! How nice of your SIL to try to help out with getting Brendan a loaner etc. But how awful of Brendan's father to be that way with his son!!! :gaah: poor kid, his Dad should be so thankful that he was not hurt in the accident and grateful for the help! It is so nice that Brendan see's in your family what love is really like! Yes google mini has told me some good jokes. She makes fun of Canadians in her jokes lol, but I am getting a bit frustrated trying to link her to our main tv in the living room. I need my son here to help me out lol.

Nancy - Just as I thought would happen the Bruins forgot how to play hockey last night. Oh well I am happy for you that your Devils won, the Bruins certainly did not deserve to.

Jean - Nice to see you here again! Yes the storms were pretty bad and there are still some without power, it must be horrible!! That is too bad that you have not heard from DH's cousin! Glad that otherwise you had a lovely Christmas! Hope you can manage to get a bit more excited about the "other" things that should done in December :becky:

Clara - My goodness it has been a long time since we have seen your pretty face here at the O! We have missed you too! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and that your New Year will bring Good Health and Happiness!

Well it is time for DH to be getting up for work. I suppose I will start something for his breakfast and then get some other things done around here that don't require me being quiet. Have a great Friday everyone!

good morning - yesterday my Devils actually looked like they knew how to play hockey. This is going to sound so weird but I think that it is because my star player Taylor Hall was out of the line up, lower body injury. To me my team wants to defer to him and he wants to do it all and that is a bad combination. I know my team needs him but Hall just need to relax. But it was good to see my team win. The next two games are both afternoon games on Sat and Mon. Made a great dinner and the boys scarfed it down. Cajun chicken and a kale and faro salad. Today the boys are home. Charles is sick with a disgusting cold and my DH has stuff to do that cannot be done at work. Did you all see the blue sky over NYC last night. I did not see it live but the photos are pretty awesome. Today is rain and so Luther is at doggie day care so this way Luther can have fun.

Chris this rain is the pits. Food shopping in the rain yuck. It is crazy with the days and how the holidays have fallen. I keep thinking it should be new year's eve already and it is only Friday.

Trudy you are up early! But I am sure your MG will love a good breakfast especially when not feeling well. Your team came to play and as my goalie made 40 saves. It is just that when your team made an error it ended up in their goal. And there was Marchand bumping my goalie but at least my goalie is big. And I am shocked that Backes head hit my Coleman. He is not really a dirty player. Sorry your painting is not what you are wanting but glad you can just start over. That is why I love photoshop - you can start over or more often just hit the delete or back button. lol

Kay I hope you are not under the blizzard warning I saw for New Mexico this am. My sister in Phoenix is actually colder than I am in NJ. Stay warm and I hope you got your errands done before the storm arrived.

Rae you are probably busy finishing up work and playing with Taz. hi

Jean congrats on the letter. I know you family looks forward to it each year.

Hi Clara always good for new and former people to drop in and say hi!

Have a great day all!

Morning, gals. Had to take time this morning to get a page done for one of my designers. She needed it ASAP. Have 2 more for other designers that need to be done this morning, too. So will be spending most of the morning working on them.

Thought I was coming down with a cold yesterday - runny nose and sneezing constantly. Took meds yesterday and last night before bed and work up without any of that going on!!! Guess it was allergies. Don't need to be sick right now.

I did get my hair cut yesterday - went back to my short cut that is so easy to take care of... wash, brush, and fluff! Made it to both libraries so now have some new books to read - the only choice is which one to start with. LOL I did look at a few Blu-rays but decided that I need to do a bit more research before I buy one.

Chris, I have 5 grown kids... 3 girls and 2 boys. Oldest and youngest daughters live here and the other 3 are scattered from NV to IL to MD. We have managed to get the whole family together about every other year. Sorry you need to go food shopping in the rain.

Nancy, yes... we are under the blizzard warning here... we did get some snow last night and expecting even more today/tonight. So far it has only been about 2" at my house. The winds coming out of the canyon usually keep the city from getting the worse of it. Just glad I don't have to go anywhere for the next few days.

Time to get back to scrapping.

Good morning, ladies. I enjoyed the quiet holiday time but it's time to get to work today. I thought I'd be getting today off but one of my clients has done some work so it's not a full day which is nice. I don't mind working today b/c then I get the wkend, little or nothing on Monday and then another day off. Then after that it is only a 3 day work wk.

Used my air fryer last night to cook up white and sweet potato fries for us. We both loved the slight crispness which is kind of a cross between oven cooking and deep frying. Tonight I'm going to make D's turkey dressing in it with a burger for me and turkey for him.

Jen and I ended up not going to Whistler to see the eagles as I thought it might be too cold to walk for hours holding the camera. We're going to go up in the summertime and check everything out and then we'll know where we want to go next fall in November. Instead, I spent the day hanging out with D and J and relaxing. We finished watching Haunting of House Hill (loved it) and the last few episodes of The Sinner. Not sure what we'll binge watch tonight.

Chris - how nice that your SIL offered to help. How fun for G to get the Echo. It must be like our Gogglechrome? She likes D a lot and says she likes the sound of his voice. She wouldn't talk to Jen a few days ago, said she didn't recognize the voice and wouldn't respond to her requests which had us all laughing. The next day she decided to listen to her LOL.

Trudy - good luck with the IG posting. I haven't tried to post from my PC, only my iphone. Hope you get some painting, scrapping or other fun thing done today. I too have laundry piling up so better get a load in.

Nancy - we saw the blue sky on our news this morning. That must have been so freaky to see. Stay healthy with the sick germs in the house.

Kay - I've been reading a lot too, am halfway thru The Passage (whew, its a long one LOL). Then I can start on book two in January if I can renew it at our digital library. Have fun with all the scrapping today.

I'm getting back to work. I think I'll do a LO this afternoon in between working. I'll get my 52 insp challenge sample page ready for January. It'll feel good to get that done.

I'd better get going. Have a great day, everyone.

Gray day here and it was windy last night, nothing serious, just a few little branches in the driveway but DH cancelled this morning's bird survey as they are not useful in the wind (you're listening for birds as well as looking) and will try tomorrow if the wind lets up. Otherwise, guess it's catching as I'm also doing laundry now.

Chris, hope you got through the shopping without too much hassle and got the ins. call in. The days not seeming right can happen around here at any time. Such a shame the step-dad is such a poor excuse.

Trudy, sorry the painting wasn't going right, but bet the second time will be beautiful as always.

Nancy, happy for you that Devils won, but poor Bruins. Hope you stay well with a sicky in the house. Nice for Luther to get to doggy day care on a rainy day. Maybe we all need something like that? Your dinner sounds great. Tomorrow I'm going to try a crockpot recipe for Moroccan Chicken with Carrots that I got from one of my mystery books, Queen Anne's Lace by Susan Wittig Albert. Hope it works!

Kay, looks like the designers have you busy while it snows. Probably a good thing. These days you're lucky to have two of the kids nearby but really nice too.

Rae, too bad it was too cold for the eagle spot, but it will still be exciting next year. You do get more work than expected a lot of the time. Good it isn't a lot today.

Clara, what a lovely surprise to see your post. Did you visit family in these parts for the holiday?
