Am I allowed to complain about how tired I am?? If not, skip over my next few sentences. :D

I'm so dang tired. Mentally and physically. Lyme/post-holiday/insomnia/anxiety. Throw them in a bowl, mix it up, stick your head in the bowl, and you get a sense of how I feel ATM. Eeep.

How was your day yesterday? I hope everyone was able to rest after the big days, especially all of you who aren't feeling well. Thankfully, Cait is feeling better, has no more fever, and is mostly in the congested/runny nose phase. My parents came up for an hour and Scott stopped in for a little while to see them. I felt bad for him, he was torn between leaving Sam and not wanting to miss the grandparents. He worries that every holiday is going to be his last time seeing either of them.
The house is slowly getting back under control. I put some boxes and bags away, garbage is getting ready to go outside.

Next up:
Sam, Caitlyn, and I are meeting up with BFF and her DD to see Wicked. Jenn and I saw Wicked on Broadway with the OG cast. When would that have been? A looong time ago! 2003, 2004??
At any rate, that's going to make for another long day but it should be fun.

This morning I am going to catch up on laundry and Lesson Plans. I worked on the field trip for next week a little more yesterday but I only have one LP ready to go. There just is not enough time/mental capacity in the day :giggle4:

Thinking of you all, and hope you are warm, cozy, and happy! ♥

You know your complaining is safe with us! Not that any of us do any complaining! ;)
When do you see Wicked?

Good Morning,
Been awake basically since 3.....when my not-so-DH poked me and told me to roll over because I was snoring! Not sure what he was hearing, but I had not yet gone back to sleep after he got up to get some Tylenol! Let's just say I think I stewed until 6 when I decided to hang it up and get up. Yeah, that's me complaining, @faerywings ! ;)

So, got the dishes put away, and a grocery order made, and moved the shipment date of my inulin subscription from Prime as I am just about out! Meanwhile, DH is still in bed, which is OK. He was feeling pretty rough last night before bed! Why do you always feel worse at bedtime?

Mark's daughter didn't come over yesterday. She is planning to come over today. We shall see. She hasn't been feeling great, either! I'm feeling pretty well. I have a slight headache still and have started coughing again.....let's hope and pray I'm not revisiting the crud! Fingers crossed!

Think I'm going to fix salmon patties at some point today. Still to be determined. Mark may not be up for it!

I did finally get a couple of pages loaded that I did pre-releases for before I got sickly!

Have a great day!

Morning, all. Had one of those crazy nights when I woke up off and on several times. Finally gave up at 6 AM and got up. Had to wait for the coffee to be made before I stumbled in to get on the computer.... <sigh> The body is here but think the brain is still wanting to be back asleep in bed.
Ugh, I hate it when that happens. Did you sleep better last night?
So sweet that Grandson #1 came to see you. Bet that was a highlight. I can see my parents' entire demeanors change when they see my kids.
Prayers for Sam and her family.
TY!!
How is Mark feeling? Feels like everyone I know is either sick or getting over it.
*knocks woods and gobbles up more garlic pills* So far, so good for me.

Kay, I always imagine the fun, laughter...and even the tears...we would share if we were able to get all of us together!
Same here. How much I would love to give you all big IRL hugs :grouphugyay:

Well, I made it through the first Christmas. I did better than I thought I would. Last night after I got home, I got a little melancholy, so I started scrapping for my January AJ challenge. Scrap therapy - you know that's what it is for me. Got my page mostly done. I had a super busy day and that helped. I was pretty tired when I got home but keyed up.
I'm glad you got through it ok. Sometimes the anticipation of difficult events, whether it is the first holiday alone or anything else that we dread, is worse than the event itself. I hope that getting ready to see Susie keeps your mind busy and feeling excited and positive.
Chuck's voice in your head will always be your guide.
I have Muk Luk slipper boots and they are my faves too! I love that they are cozy but have a hard sole so if I need to step on the front porch to yell at my dogs, my feet are protected LOL

**wiping tears off face*** Oh Chris. This is so magical and special and oh man. You know Scott will be emotional when he wears it. What a special gift.
Yes, I know he will be. He loves those kids so much and wishes that Dan could have met them. I'm sure he'll wear it and feel that connection.
I agree 100% Peopled out!!!
Sorry to hear that, but with you totally!

Chris I have to laugh, best gift was a cleaver! So yep, I'm down to knives knives knives but mines is sharp enough to take body parts off :floorlaugh: Hubs said you asked for it but please be very careful not to take off a finger.:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
Bwuahahahah!!!! At least you aren't a Campbell. Campbell men are notorious for chopping off parts of (or entire) fingers. FIL, BIL, Gary, and Scott to a lesser extent. ;)
I didn't even shower or dress yesterday, just read my book and snacked. It was awesome.
Sounds like heaven!!!!!

After 2 hrs I pulled it out, took the foil off and discovered it wasn't cooked!!! They had given me a 20 lb uncooked smoked turkey.
Yikes! That must have been a surprise! I hope that you enjoyed all of the food for dinner last night.
Oh, I am so jealous that you got a remote start!!! I bet you will love it. I thought about asking for one for my car but it's old. Plus my dad is on the fence about driving and I'll get his car when he gives it up. He isn't there yet and I won't push him for both of my parents' sanity's sake. Ha!
Hope that you and Jen are feeling by now.

@BrightEyes No worries, as you have seen throughout the years I have known you, my brain only works less than half most days LOL!
If I were you, I would be wearing a mask too!
Kay @BrightEyes I guess every Christmas from now on is going to be difficult. Sorry you had an extra hard time this year. I worked on a layout last night after getting home from Adrienne's. I'd love to adopt your tradition of writing a letter to Chuck every year. Fortunately, I'll be gone over the New Year's and won't be home until the evening of January 1st, so maybe, when I do get home, it won't be so bad. I can write the letter before I go or after I get home. I was afraid to attempt it last night because I didn't want to start crying. I was thinking of you, too. It's never going to get easier. :(
My guess is that Kay will tell you that it doesn't matter the timing of writing the letter to Chuck, only that you do it when and if it feels right.
And if she wasn't going to tell you that-- I'll say it. :)
No matter what you decide, I'm sure he knows what is in your heart ♥

BIG hugs to my dear O-Fam xoxo

When do you see Wicked?
We are leaving here at 12.45-- the theater is an hour from me. Then we are going to grab a bite to eat after the show.

Sooo sorry about your lack of sleep!!!

I'm sorry you've been up since 3 but I chuckled at your description.

Today is another low key day. My daughter bought me a book stand (adjustable so you can position it) and a remove control. Now I can read my kindle while all stuck in my pump suit. No more boredom. YEAH it made the hour I was stuck go so much faster. We had so much food left over and it was amazing but I gotta say, were all sick of Chinese food :giggle4: Its time to hit the store and get something else. A salad would be amazing.

What a great idea your daughter had! Or was it on your Christmas wish list? Either way, very good idea!

How nice that your daughter has given you such practical gifts, Tracy. You really do look quite uncomfortable when you are wearing that suit. I suspect it is a remedy to help you with your symptoms and to give you relief. Fortunately, you only have to endure it for an hour. :heartpumppink:
@AllMany greetings from afar to all those with sniffles and those suffering from symptoms. I hope and pray that the next year will bring you an easier time ♥♥♥

Thankfully its not uncomfortable, just awkward and it takes an hour to run the program. But it does help the lymph system and so I'll keep doing it. Not so hard now that I can read while wearing it.

HI Everyone! Christmas was very nice here, spent Christmas Eve with my brothers family, my sister, and us, and Christmas day we saw Mufasa at the theatre. I will say my expectations were low, but it exceeded my expectations on all levels. It was really good. We also watched Die Hard last night, and it is definitely NOT a Christmas movie. Then we started Red One, and I fell asleep. But what I saw was enjoyable. Today Belle and I spent all day getting her things unpacked. It will be a couple or three more days of that before it's done. But she's home. And my son in law is home from deployment safely as well, so he and Erinn are in a honeymoon phase and seem delightfully happy. I'll try to catch up on personals tomorrow. I've been up since 2 am as well. I couldn't sleep for some reason.
So I'm heading to bed!

Awesome sauce all the way around, Amy. I agree with you - Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. I played that joke on so many people this year and nobody thought it was. It's on the Christmas movies list, though. ***shrugs***

Good evening my dear friends,

I'm in the "throes" of packing - UGH. We're leaving about 12:30 tomorrow for our drive to Tulsa. Did I ever tell you all that I HATE flying??????? If I never had to "set seat" on a plane again I'd be thrilled. Oh well, some things just happen. I haven't been on a plane since I went to Florida 2 years ago. Of course, I've had so many flights where it was just me, and that sucks, so at least I'll have Adrienne and Roger with me this time.

Let me walk down Memory Lane for a moment - humor me. Flying USED to be fun. Yes, I said "fun". That was then and this is now and it isn't much fun anymore. I guess if you didn't know how much fun it used to be, you couldn't relate but trust me. Back in "the day" (I sound as old as Methuselahs) Chuck and I used to fly so much, and he had so many frequent flyer miles that we could always upgrade to first class, or at least business class. Oh well, what are you gonna do????

Well, I made it through the first Christmas. I did better than I thought I would. Last night after I got home, I got a little melancholy, so I started scrapping for my January AJ challenge. Scrap therapy - you know that's what it is for me. Got my page mostly done. I had a super busy day and that helped. I was pretty tired when I got home but keyed up.

Chris @faerywings you are absolutely right (O might One) the anticipation is sometimes worse than the actual event. Yes, I MUST listen to Chuck's voice in my ear - I'm packing right now and as usual, "overthinking" everything. Adrienne and I went out to run some last minute errands this evening and I think I'm about ready to go now. I didn't have a suitcase - well, I think it's probably up in the attic, so Adrienne brought me one and now I'm seriously packing.

Adrienne and I went to Walgreens to pick up prescriptions and decided to go inside and I got a few last-minute things that I didn't know I needed and probably don't. :floorlaugh: Yes, Chuck, I know I can get things when I get there.........................:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Okay, I need to get serious here and knuckle down. I had a long talk with Daisy - she's acting so weird. Probably because there's a suitcase sitting open in my bedroom. Poor thing, but we had a long talk. I have a pet sitter/house sitter coming over while I'm gone, so she and Sam won't be interrupted from their routines. Miley (the girl I hirdd) came over today to meet Daisy and Sam and she will be staying here at night. She's the niece of a good friend and you gotta trust your friends.

I'm taking my laptop, so I'm sure I'll be popping in. Love and hugs to ALL.
