Did you get all of that?

In my Iantosca family, Christmas is a 2-day holiday. It starts around 3 pm on Christmas Eve and runs through until everyone passes out Christmas Day evening.
This is a cause of much debate with Gary and my brother's wife, seeing as they have their Countdown to Christmases all wrong. :p

So today is technically the Day Before Christmas, hence Christmas Eve Eve Morning.

I ended having to take a nap again yesterday. If it weren't Christmas Eve Eve Eve (??? -ok, that is too much even for me hahahha!!) i would have pushed through, but I don't want to take any chances of me feeling any worse than I typically do at night. Lyme makes it very difficult to be around lots of noise and light, in addition to the constant fatigue. POTS makes it really hard to stand for any period of time and eating lots of food makes my BP kind of go crazy. (POTS is a dysautonomic condition that affects pulse rate/BP/body temp regulation and digestion, etc etc etc- fun stuff!) I finished wrapping the last of the gifts and baskets. Gary brought them over to the neighbors and dropped off cookies.

I was hoping to only have to clean the kitchen and bathroom today, but I have to steam clean a bit too. Gary clipped Ravyn's nails and nicked the vein in one of them. Every time she went outside, it started bleeding again and of course, we had no styptic powder. (Why am I thinking that cornstarch works too and why didn't I think of that *yesterday*??). poor baby girl bled all over the carpets. I tried to clean up as much of the spots by hand but here are still trails of blood everywhere. i want to do a quick sweep of them before they get too set in.

Thankfully, the cough is slightly better again. Gary thought that I should go to the doctor today but it isn't in my chest and I am not running a fever and I am already on a broad spectrum abx so there isn't much he could do.

I hope that all of you are caught up with everything that needs to get done and that all of you are enjoying C-E-E-Day

nancy- thanks for the recipe link- looks easy enough!
WTG Luther!!!!How awesome for him to stay on command when there was a truck driver about.
A small brag re: Jaida. We had trained Harley to scratch at the door when she was ready to come in, but Ray never was able to get that one down. She would sit at the door for such a long time if we forgot she was outside. Wouldn't scratch, wouldn't bark.
We were inconsistently trying to teach Jaida to do that, but over the last few days, Gary was really working on it, and she did it last night. woot!

Your SIL had a wide range of majors and interests! Scott is like that too, he enjoys a lot of things but then thinks of salary and gets confused. He really loved working with plants but can't figure out if that will actually be something he could support a family with. Thx for the advice :)
How did the Devils play last night, back on track?

Trudy- oh man, sounds like your hubs is at the same point as I am with the damn cold. The coughing is terrible. I don't know how my Gary slept through it at all.
Bon Bons were made yesterday but had to sit in the fridge overnight, so I will finish them off today.
Does that mean that you finished them off as in eating them all? :pound:
The military isn't really an option for Scott. I am not sure if there are still these requirements, but he was born with a heart defect and he is color blind and I know they used to be contraindicated to the service. He is too out of the box as well. (Not to mention, I wouldn't want him in the US Military at this point in time. To volatile)

Rae- that sucks about work. I hope that it flies by and that you don't get any more sent today. Make sure you take breaks!

Jean- it sounds like it will be a very happy and cozyChristmass for you and your DH.
How is your sister? She was quite sick a while ago, IIRC?
Unfortunately, because Scott is in a community college they don't really have career counselors. It is one big downside to that.Caitlyn has been lucky because she knows what direction she is going in, but it is much harder for Scott.

Rae- you are too funny!

::grouphug to all!

good morning! Well my team came through with a 4-0 defeat of the Flyers! It was a Devils/Flyers game for sure with plenty of hits, fights and my team scoring. My son was supposed to take the train but he missed it so he missed a great game. I went and sat by my DIL so that was fun. It was also Andy Greene boblehead night so that too was fun and signed ornaments my was by Luke Gazdic and he was awarded the hard hat by his team so all in all a great game. Got in good walk with Luther. So it was a great day. Today I get my hair cut and colored - yea look good for the holidays. My son is home so I will get some shopping done while he plays with Luther.

Chris you are so busy! Have a great time with your two day Christmas extravaganza! Take as many naps as you need! Glad you are feeling better! Coughs are so hard to get rid of - hang in there! Tell Scott that most students don't know what they will be doing when they graduate. Now a days most people change jobs all the time it is not like our parents where they stayed with the same job their whole working lives.

Trudy hope your MG is not coughing so bad that it keeps you up! Have a great time this weekend with your family!

Rae you are too funny! I would love a bit of your organizational skills. Hope work is done faster than you think. Sounds like fun with your daughter!

Jean it is crazy this time of year if when it is just the two of you!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I won't be online much today. Things are progressing nicely but I've still got lots to do. I feel like it should be lunch time now LOL. I've had 3 coffees, showered, dressed, took Taz for a walk, took out the garbage, checked the turkey in the fridge which is thawing, checked the bread which is growing stale sitting out to dry out for the stuffing, cleaned out the basement fridge, wrote out a grocery list, found the rolls of tape I knew I had (they were in my office) and now I'm going to get some desk work done. Later I have banking, gift wrapping, trip to pet store and baking a batch of gluten free cookies. Last night I made the rice krispie squares and went to the gluten free bakery. What yummy stuff they have! Got an assortment of squares and bread for Jen & I to have. Today I'm going to pop into the store to see if they have a GF cookbook that Jen might like. Then I will be all done gift shopping. Didn't I saw that a few days ago? LOL. I was out yesterday and found a nify little red T-Fal dicer/chopper/spiralizer machine for the kids. Jen likes a lot of veggies so I think she'll love this.

Bailey called last night and said she had been feeling down and depressed about Xmas (I think that's why she bailed on coming over last wkend to bake with me) but she was happy to say she is coming out of her funk and is getting excited for Xmas. I feel so bad for her b/c living with anxiety/depression is so hard. I'm going to try extra hard to hug and kiss her and make her laugh throughout the two days she'll be here.

Chris - glad to hear you aren't overdoing it. You want to enjoy the holiday so pace yourself and rest when you can.

Nancy - glad it was a good game, too bad your son missed it. I bet you'll look fabulous with your new hair cut and color! I never did get a chance to get mine trimmed. Where does the time go? LOL

Jean, Trudy, NancyP and everyone else....hope you are enjoying the day.

I'm going to listen to "River" one more time and then get to work. Tonight, when I finally get a chance to sit down and relax, I'm going to watch the Pentatonix Xmas Special that I pvr'd last week and enjoy an alcoholic "rootbeer" drink and a few of my gluten free cookies. That will mark the start of my celebration! I've got a big bottle of wine in the fridge cooling for dinner tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to relaxing and having some family time while we have our Xmas Eve turkey dinner here.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

DH did his early morning bird survey this morning. Had missed a couple weeks with bad weather. But, very few birds today. We still have snow on the ground, but it's close to 40*F. I really do think everything "holiday" is done that will get done. Have the groceries for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day, did a little decorating after we cleaned house yesterday, just waiting now!

Chris, my sister is doing OK. Her son and DIL live with her now, so she has someone there to be sure of that. She will be 86 on the 28th. Your celebration sounds exhausting but wonderful. Glad it's coming together, but don't overdo today!

Nancy, way to go Devils, getting a shutout. Sounds like a good time. And today it's nice to have a Luther minder and getting your hair done.

Rae, you really got me yesterday. Had now idea you could still be checking in here with so much to do. You really do amaze! Sounds like you've got the GF goodies really covered. How nice tonight will be when you can start winding down to celebrate.

Trudy, NancyP, and all, happy waiting to celebrate (and how nice to have many celebrations at the same time.)

Happy Christmas Eve ladies!! I am awake at 5am :mmph: DH has been coughing and keeping me awake for half the night so I figured I may as well get up and out of bed. Hoping to return to my nice warm bed later for a bit of  I was absent from the computer yesterday as we were having issues with our telus optic and I had a repair man here to get us all fixed up again. It is working great now and finally I have my computer hard wired the way I wanted it done about 6 months ago when the original install happened. For some reason things were not set up properly and I had to be wireless, my computer is much faster now hooray!! Yesterday morning I spent talking with Heather and Mason and they are all ready for the big day tomorrow. Then I had to meet my SIL for an early lunch and gave her some things to take to MIL and FIL for Christmas! We will miss being with all of them for the Holidays, but also excited to be with the kids for Christmas this year! So my day kind of flew by as the rest of the afternoon was spent getting things ready to pack and take to our Son's house. DH is still not 100% but I am hoping he is feeling a bit better when he wakes up later on this morning.

So I just wanted to pop in here to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas! May the Season Warm your Soul and Bring Love to your Heart and bless you with everything this life has to offer!!
