Happy Friday the 13th! Full moon and all!!!

Somehow, I managed to survive yesterday in one piece and only needed one glass of wine- not a bucket.

My day started with clomping around the house trying to figure out how to make the ginormous bags under my eyes disappear. (Eyebags 1- Faery 0) warmed up my car as it was 18*, but couldn't use the washer fluid on the rear because it was frozen. (Weather 1- Faery 0) . Got to X-ray place at 9 am sharp, asked if I would be out by 10-- not even a chance. (X-Rays 1 - Faery 0). I took my paperwork back, went to my parents who were already bickering. Got to Dr's office at 10.45. Left Medical center at 1.45. My dad goes to get the car from the parking garage, we follow a few minutes later to meet him on the street. Freeze our butts off waiting for him to bring the car around (Weather 2- Faery 0). He comes back, -- he cannot find the car! (Car 1- Faery's Dad 0)
I go back with him and after clomping through three levels of the parking garage, we find it. Whew! (Car 1- Faery and her dad 1) We get back to my parents' house, my mom had wanted to take us to lunch but it is 2.30 and I mostly want to get home. But first, I am thinking that I should call the X-ray place to see how long the wait is. I *really* don't want to have to drive back down next week if I don't have to. I take the paperwork out of my purse to find the phone number. I have lost the Rx. I call the X-ray place to see if I left it there, it is not there. Ugh!! (X-rays 2 Faery 0)
My mom desperately wants to feed me but now it is 3 pm, and I know that I *need* to get home to decompress. I had a granola bar in the car so that was my lunch. My very Italian mother does not count that as lunch. :p
I get home, I call my Drs office, they fax the Rx over to the X-ray place and now I will head back down next week. (I am calling that one a Draw.)

The appt with the Dr went well. My mom said that she wants to be in denial for a little longer but was reading over some of the paperwork when I called her to let her know that I got home alive. She would get a pacemaker/defib combo that would both regulate her heartbeat and strengthen the heart itself. She has dis-synchronization of the heart chambers which means that they aren't pumping at the same time. This resyncs them. Aside from the risks of any surgery, I can't see a downside. She read that if the pacemaker zaps her heart, she might not be able to drive for 6 months. I told her that if her heart stops and she doesn't have the pacemaker, she won't be driving for a lot longer than that.

So that was my day yesterday. Aren't you proud of me, only one glass of wine?? IMHO, I think I deserved the bucket. :pound:

Today I am going to work on F-Ws stuff and the gift baskets. I hope that I can get the majority of that done, I just can't seem to get a good grip on things so any little step forward has to be a good one.

I hope you all have a fab day!

Quick ones from Wed:

Nancy- I was wondering if the shooting was near where DS was, I knew that he lived in JC for a while. Sad and scary. Car ins really stinks-- but you have to have it. I hope that it won't affect his ratings. I can't believe what a rough season the Devils are having. We got about 2-3" not a lot and it melted off of the roads by mid-day.

Kay- you got a Baby-Boot! :D That is similar to what I had post-surgery. I hope that the pain gets better every day. Do you have an online shopping service by you? I am really lucky to have that even though I don't like to spend the extra money.
Congrats on the new monitor!!! That is fantastic and you must be able to see it from anywhere in the room!
Yup, that seems about it-- warning people to stay outta my way or you are going to get clomped on. I wish Ray could hear me in the kitchen, maybe she would stay away. But nope that dog is deaf, deaf, deaf.
There was a shooting by you too? OMG. This is so sad... My town declared itself a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City. NJ has pretty strict gun laws and I don't know what this would do to loosen them. I like the gun laws NJ has. I would not feel safe walking around a store like Walmart with so many people open carrying. Not for me.

Trudy- Congrats on having such a wonderful son. happy birthday to him! You have done well. :high5:
Sooo happy to hear that you are no longer in my panic room. I have to start thinking about my Christmas day menu too. Instead of the free turkey you can get from the supermarket at T-day, I chose a tofu-"turkey" stuffed with wild rice and cranberries. not sure how anyone will like it- but there will be cookies. No one will starve.

Rae- you hade a good day with the fam. Nice that you are able to balance work and relaxing and scrapping. Yay!!!
I need to purge some fonts - I downloaded one recently and it locks my computer up every time I use it.

Felis- I had the same issue with the O too. The security certificate had expired. I was able to get through by ignoring the security warnings. LOL
That is great news that most of your shopping is done! I am trying to delegate. I left Gary a list of some things he could do while I was out and he did them all. He even drove over to the local x-ray place to see if they make CDs of the x-rays on-site (they do not - bummer). That was after I couldn't get it done int he morning but before I knew I lost the Rx hahaha! So don't worry about me!

OK that was Wed. Let me post and do Thursday!

Cinda-- have a wonderful holiday and enjoy every minute with your family. Hope to catch you on the flip side! Safe trip to MI!

Trudy- one more week and the days get longer again (not that I am counting or anything!)You got so much done on Wed!! Good for you, and what a weight off of your shoulders to get everything checked off of your list. I hope that you didn't get lost on Pinterest for too long.
I want Rae to spill the beans on her org skills too.
Thanks for the update on Storm too- happy dogs make me happy as well.

Hi Buddy! You are always welcome here!

Nancy- congrats on finishing PT! I am sure that you will get to the 120* on your own. And I imagine that having both knees done in a short-ish time frame has to make you feel a bit shaky on the stairs. You got this though and I am sure your confidence will be back soon. Sorry to hear about your friend's MIL-- I hope that she will be home soon.

Rae- Good luck with B's team meeting today. She seems so happy when she is with you, and that makes me happy too. Give her a hug from me when you see her.

Kay- oh yuck, that is disappointing that the foot hurts so soon after waking. Thank goodness most bills can be viewed and paid online-- so hopefully the mail won't bring any surprises, only Christmas cards.

Felis- fab job getting so much done here at the party! I saw that Buddy left you some messages- hope you got a lot of coupons!
what a sweet little pile of fur your babies made!!
Yes, Livvie was absolutely fine. She is so bad! But it was a relief. Unfortunately, Dilly's abscess is huge again. :(

I have been sitting too long, my butt hurts! But give me a few hours on my feet and I will be complaining that my feet/legs hurt LOL

good morning - it is cloudy and we are due for rain later today and all day tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that. Had a great time at our group dinner last night. Amazing how long we have known each other. Kids were in grade school and now a lot are married and having their own kids. But as happy as that is there is also the other side of time passing. The parents are getting older and their problems are now also part of the dynamic. One of the parents took the wrong drugs and ended up in the hospital of course, another had the flu and another pneumonia. But among us we are all healthy and happy so that is the positive. More turmoil in hockey as another coach was let go. My Devils team plays tonight and tomorrow night. Both games are against the best in the West. Just hoping for competitive games. Will work more on my Dec. project.

Chris wow that was a day! I am so impressed you made it through. Glad your mom is thinking so positively about the pacemaker. My girlfriend has one and she said the procedure was pretty easy. Well at least now you know about the x-ray stuff! Enjoy a more restful day today. I have not finished PT just getting closer to meeting the goals. I only go twice a week now.

Trudy your MG must not be too happy with his Bruins. I liked what one of the players said - there is an 82 game schedule so we are not going to go 80 and 3. LOL at the math skills. Cracked me up. I will be happy like Chris mentioned to have the days starting to get longer.

Kay hope that your foot continues to improve. It has to be getting better as it does not hurt in the morning. Good luck with down sizing the computer. Too bad you just cant add memory to your DH's computer.

Rae good luck with the meeting. I love your squirrel Freckles. How sweet he come to visit each day!

Felis congrats on doing so much for the challenges.

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone! I have been on facetime with Heather and Hunter for the past hour, my goodness where does the time go? Hunter loves to show me around his house and look at the elf on the shelf and his tree and all the other little decorations. So cute, but sure wish he would use some words instead of a grunt for saying hey grandma look at this LOL!! He is slowly starting to talk a bit and I am sure once he gets the hang of it, we won't be able to shut him up LOL. Anyway today I am going to go shopping for a few things. I would love to find a nice top to wear for Christmas day and I need to get a few things for my card making that I hope to do later today. I got Heather's parcel mailed yesterday and oh my gosh the cost was astronomical!! Next year ( I say this every year) it will only be online shopping with free shipping!! Ya right!! Oh well it is all done and I feel like a big weight is lifted off my shoulders and now I can enjoy the holiday season more!
Chris - Oh dear what a day you had yesterday!! Yup you deserved to have a bucket of wine not just a glass!! Yes I did spend way too much time on Pinterest and still not sure of what I want to do with the staircase, but oh well I am not in a hurry to get it done either, it might not even get done at all. With no kids here for Christmas day it just doesn't seem too important to get it all the decorating and baking done :mmph: Call me scrooge LOL.

Nancy - Yes darn it the Bruins are in a slump right now, but oh well hopefully they will get better soon. Had to laugh at the math too :pound: no one said they were smart did they LOL. Yes it sad to hear that your friends parents are not doing well, how amazing that you have all stayed friends for so very long! It is scary to think of how time is passing us by, but good for you for having such a positive attitude and that you are healthy and happy!! I hope that you are enjoying your Dec project! I really need to get to the gallery today and see them better!!

Ok I will sign off and get into the shower and out the door before it gets to busy downtown, Fridays always get crazy busy with traffic in our little city and its best to get out there before noon! Have a wonderful Friday everyone and I will try to catch up with everyone else later today!

Yesterday we ran errands and I got the last little thing I wanted for BiL's gifts (includes for the evil cat and now a treat for the birds/critters outside too). So today I've got to get it all wrapped and the artwork in some kind of box and get it all mailed. Today! I hope. Last night we treated ourselves to the Mexican restaurant too. So I've got leftovers for lunch.

Chris, yesterday sounds mind boggling! Congrats on only one glass of wine! OTOH I want to think your mom hasn't come to grips with the seriousness of her condition, but maybe in some place in herself she'd rather the other option to not driving for six months. Glad Livvie is OK, but then poor Dilly. And with G doing your list and beyond, see it pays to take Felis' advice! Have fun doing the F-W things.

Nancy, I still think your rehab process seems to be going so well. And having the PT see things you don't, well that's what they do. Too bad about the Devils and having to play such good teams two nights in a row. But it's still hockey for you I guess. Glad Luther is recovering too. And your Dec. project is so nice.

Felis, hooray your sister is back. Will you get to decorate some now? Thanks for comments on my poinsettia LOs. DH is very proud of it and had me look back at earlier scraps to see just how long we've had it. Turns out we got it six years ago. The cuddle of cats sounds precious and the "photo" is in your mind and now you've given it to us as well.

Kay, hope the foot keeps improving. That new monitor must be such a pleasure. In cleaning up the 2T drive, hopefully you'll be able to access some of the things "deleted" on an EHD? I do all my scrapping from an EHD as this computer doesn't have much storage.

Rae, hope you like the cards flat. I like to display the few I still get and the flat ones have to lean on something while the folder stand on their own. But many are now flat.

Buddy, we love seeing you any and every where at the O!

Trudy, congrats on finishing and shipping to the kids! Hope I'm not far behind you. Belated happy birthday to your son. Glad they are all happy where they are in Ottawa.

Cinda, thanks for stopping in even while your son is home.

Have a good one!

Quick in and out as I am still trying to catch up with my scraping commitments. I'm getting there but have a few more to do. That's what happens when I didn't have my computer and software.

Yes, I have been saving stuff of my ExHD but also like to back them up onto DVDs, too. I have a bunch of files from designers who have quit... so will get them off the computer first.

Chris, the shooting I mentioned was in the town where I was born and raised in... it is about 180 miles from here. Small town of about 4,000. Always hate to hear about shootings.

I made it over to pick up my mail from my mailbox ... and had a few more bills that came in this week. The big one is the property taxes on the house. I don't do on-line banking since someone tried to access my account early this year. Yes, the foot is improving... slowly. But, I have to go the store today regardless... ran out of milk, creamer for the coffee and fresh fruits and veggies. Will try to do personals later.

Busy day. The mtg was long today with B's team. The new social worker is a moron so we know it's going to be a battle with her. Luckily her boss is good and hopefully will intervene when necessary with expectations and recommendations this woman makes for B. Jen and I were both so frustrated at how inept the social worker seems. She said she knew B from one of the hospitals last year and asked B if she remembered her, so of course B said yes (she tries to compensate and pretend she knows things) and the worker was thrilled that B remembered her. The boss (Jessica) had to say no she doesn't, she is compensating. The woman asked a yes/no question so how could she possibly know if B really remembered. Ugh. Why are our medical health workers so stupid? So....it looks like once again we'll have to be on our toes and constantly fight for proper care for B. There were so many red flags with things this woman said today. It could be worse though, at least she's not the only person responsible for B's care.

So I'm frustrated, lost 4 hrs of work I need to make up for and maybe I'll just order (glutenfree) pizza for dinner. I need some comfort food.

That's my update for today. Talk to you all in the morning.
