Is it really Friday again? Sheesh, that week went fast. :bolt:
Sorry that I never made it back yesterday. I kept planning on it and then one thing led to another... you all know how that goes.I didn't make it to the lake either. I spent an hour or so cleaning out the dead leaves and stalks from the lilies. Not that anyone will really notice since they are behind the cars, but I will know. And I was able to untangle a lot of the morning glory vines from them and got them wrapping around the fence posts.

We played Mario Kart again and I actually got points this time around. Still in last place most of the time, but that is an improvement over the other times. hahah!! Then we watched Sharknado 2. Stupid stupid fun. The best part were all of the cameos and some inside jokes. For ex. Fin looks out of the plane window to see a shark on it, and then when he calls someone over, it was gone, a la William Shatner in The Twilight Zone :)

Today is food shopping and then I have to decompress at the lake. I still have gobs of stuff to catch up on and not much motivation to do it.

Finish it Friday:
"Finish" cleaning crap off of my desk...

Have a great one!!!!:peace:

And there was another reason that I didn't get much done in the afternoon. I saw a Facebook headline "Man and Woman found Dead in Denville Home" and I had to read the article to make sure it wasn't my parents. You know your parents are bickering a lot when that is you immediate reaction. I didn't *really* think that it was possible but I had to read it to be sure. Turns out that the couple is the parents of my brother's best friend. I am not sure if I should call my brother, or just a Hey there text and see what is up. I am sure he has to know, it is all over the local newspapers/online since the wife was a big figure in local govt.
My brother's friend was my partner at their wedding and I have known him since we were kids. We are not friends but hung out in the same crowd for a while.
I am thinking just a quick text to say hi will be my best best and see what he responds with.
Again, I am stunned by how many deaths I find out about on Social Media.
Just crazy :(

Nancy- ack!! The weather has been horrible for a summer-lover like me! tee-hee! It has been so cold, it doesn't even feel like summer.Gary has been pretty happy though, he does not fare well at all in heat and humidity. he has chronic pneumonia from one of the infections he has and it makes it hard from him to breathe when it is humid.

I have seen pics of the raised houses in the paper and it is crazy and amazing, right? Your bike rides sounds like a great way to get out and enjoy this weather. And what a fab thing to be able to do with your DIL-- enjoying birding!

Jean and Nancy- i thought of you both the other day. For some reason, we are all of a sudden having birds use our little pond fountain as a bird bath. We watched one bird push several others away and then he stood on the fountain cap, and washed himself. He turned around and then got the other side. It was hysterical to watch and we had never seen that before. (And now, we have lots of bird poop around the pond!)

Phyllis- you are killing me will all of the zucchini! Maybe next year I will try again. Our tomatoes are doing really good though. I made a tomato and vidalia onion tart for dinner last night and that is really yummy!
A mountain goat!? That is funny!!I am still amazed at what a cool project that is that you are doing.

Sabine, you are right, that is not gardening, that is landscaping! Bet that bath felt awesome!

Hope that all of you are doing great!

good morning - yesterday was a very sad day - my Aunt who I just visited two weeks ago has died. She broke her hip and my guess is at 86 she just did not want to fight anymore. She was married for over 50 years and has been really lost since his death. Even though she is has so much family around she was so lonely. I am so happy that I got to see her. Not sure if I will be able to make it out for the funeral. That makes me sad. But on the good side my DIL and son are really closing on their home today. So that makes me happy. My DH and I are going down to Sandy Hook to go bike riding. It is a glorious day so again that will make me happy.

Chris hope you make it out to the lake. And yes this summer has not been broiling but at least for me not much rain. A tart to me should be sweet so tomato and onion just does not sound right LOL. So sorry about the family in Denville.

Phylis amazing what you have been able to do with all those zucchinis.

Sabine you so deserved that long bath. I am sure your garden area looks splendid now!

Have a great day all!

Chris, love the bird story! They can really entertain. (and leave reminders)

Getting ready for talk tomorrow and have to take two new "drawings" to be framed and have a backlog of questions to answer for genealogy for an exhibit at the historical society. Too bad it's a beautiful day I have to be inside.

Enjoy it, everyone!
