Sorry that I never made it back yesterday. I was going to and ten it was such a pretty day that I decided to do some yard work, now that the tiger lilies are all done blooming.
I am so proud of myself yesterday. I was debating in my head whether I was going to go to walk. I ended up talking myself into it because I wanted to ask the woman running the program about dieticians and Charity Care at the hospital for Cait. She said that the ShopRite right over the mountain had a great dietician, and would see Cait for free. And for a "real" appt- an hour or so. I think I can afford that, I just need to make an appt.
There were only 4 of us walking but wow, what amazing people. Good vibes. One of the women had spoken before about not growing up in the US. Cait and I had thought she had said where, but couldn't remember. I asked her, and she said that she was born in Syria. Left there when she was 9 to Armenia. When she was 12, it was Beirut. Her family was able to come to the US, at the beginning of the Civil War there.
I told her she was a walking history book and that here perspective on life is very different that most of the kids here in the US.
The other woman and i were talking about health issues- she had asked how long I had been on IV. Turns out that she had a double mastectomy a few years ago, so that become a heart to heart as well.
Yesterday was the last day of the Wellness Program and I wish that it was much longer.
I drove home very happy and rejuvenated on the inside.
Today, I am going to Kohls with my mom and Caitlyn to get her some back to school stuff, and maybe some new underwear for me (the excitement!! *swoons* ). I also have to stop and pick up my next 2 weeks worth of Rocephin and put in an order for a refill.
I guess I should get going. Hugs and love and sunshine to you all!
And special hugs to Trudy. Today is the day that Heather goes back home, IIRC. That house is going to be so quiet for her. Hugs sweetie!!!!
