Sorry that I never made it back yesterday. I was going to and ten it was such a pretty day that I decided to do some yard work, now that the tiger lilies are all done blooming.

I am so proud of myself yesterday. I was debating in my head whether I was going to go to walk. I ended up talking myself into it because I wanted to ask the woman running the program about dieticians and Charity Care at the hospital for Cait. She said that the ShopRite right over the mountain had a great dietician, and would see Cait for free. And for a "real" appt- an hour or so. I think I can afford that, I just need to make an appt.
There were only 4 of us walking but wow, what amazing people. Good vibes. One of the women had spoken before about not growing up in the US. Cait and I had thought she had said where, but couldn't remember. I asked her, and she said that she was born in Syria. Left there when she was 9 to Armenia. When she was 12, it was Beirut. Her family was able to come to the US, at the beginning of the Civil War there.
I told her she was a walking history book and that here perspective on life is very different that most of the kids here in the US.
The other woman and i were talking about health issues- she had asked how long I had been on IV. Turns out that she had a double mastectomy a few years ago, so that become a heart to heart as well.
Yesterday was the last day of the Wellness Program and I wish that it was much longer.

I drove home very happy and rejuvenated on the inside.

Today, I am going to Kohls with my mom and Caitlyn to get her some back to school stuff, and maybe some new underwear for me (the excitement!! *swoons* ). I also have to stop and pick up my next 2 weeks worth of Rocephin and put in an order for a refill.

I guess I should get going. Hugs and love and sunshine to you all!

And special hugs to Trudy. Today is the day that Heather goes back home, IIRC. That house is going to be so quiet for her. Hugs sweetie!!!!

tee- Hee Nancy! Did you get the stuff for a root beer float? I remember as a kid going to Stewart's for Root Beer floats. Are there any Stewart's left around here?
How cool is the Apple Store-- Can you get it right through your watch?
Skidamarink is *far* from pop-- It is a kids' song, and when I was teaching, one of the aides sang it to the babies. A lot. It is pretty annoying but if you want to get a taste of it-- I found a video. Do NOT hold me responsible if it gets stuck on a loop in your head.hahah!! :boom:

We didn't see butterflies b/c we went on the road through the wooded areas, but we did see deer. I took a few pics on my phone but who knows what kind of quality they are. I will check them out later.

Sharon- woooooo hoooooooooo for Marisol! That is wonderful and I bet you are breathing a big sigh of relief! You GDD is going to love it!!
So sorry to hear that the walking was a bust :(
FWIW- my dad had a hip replacement 12+ years ago and he kicks himself for not doing it sooner. He couldn't walk more than a few steps without pain (it was bone on bone in the joint) and you would never knew it now. He stil goes fishing- in rivers, hikes, mows the lawn. I wish he would not worry about the lawn, but he is stubborn.
I am not prudish, but I hate that everything revolves around sex. Can these people not tell a joke without it? Or does every crime scene investigation need to end up at a strip club? Cable shows-- ok, I get that, but network TV? *SMH*

Now, I really need to get going. Love you!!

Good morning - Boy yesterday was crazy busy and then I went out to grill and the door shut and I was locked out. The only thing that saved me was that I had on my apple watch so I could txt my son so he could come and rescue me. The day started so well with me being good and grocery shopping and then went for a bike ride. And then the cat wanted to sit out side for a while. I always double and triple check when I go riding or take the cat out that I have my keys or the door is unlocked but this time I just let the cat in and locked the door and so when I went out the door shut and I was so mad. LOL. But my son came over in less than 30 min and then he gave me his grilling tips so I learned something new. And the food did turn out really well so I guess in the end all ended well. But it was crazy. I guess I will now have to have a key made I hide some where outside as I am not getting younger who knows but this is bound to happen again. Today I am off to my dermatologist to make sure no weird skin problems.

Chris yes I did have my root beer float. I found little mini A&W root beer cans as out west I grew up with A&W not Stewart's. The float was so good! Just what I needed after the lock out. Your walk sounds so good. And it seems like today will be another awesome Jersey summer day! Enjoy! Have a great time shopping. My sister says school starts next Monday in Arizona. Boy that seems so early!

Sharon congrats on your Marisol! How sweet to have her already outfitted too. I bet you do have a bit of wanting to keep her after all you have been through to get her. Your granddaughter is going to be so thrilled. OMgosh so sorry about your hips. So interesting that biking does not hurt.

Have a great day all!

Love reading about such a pleasant day for you Chris. Gonna camp on that. Hope shopping goes well. We're doing a Costco run today so DH can get some new glasses. Gonna stop at Michael's and try to find a gorgeous box for Marisol.

Oh Nancy! What a sinking feeling! "I cannot believe I just did that!" sort of a moment! Glad it worked out...and that your reward was a root beer float. Seriously! School starting on AUGUST 10th??????? What's up with that? That is a month too early. :(

Last night we met DS (Clara's dad) and the family at Lake Washington for dinner at Kidd Valley (fast food burger place). They came over on the boat, and we drove. The two older boys are just learning how to water ski and wake board, so want to be out on the boat every minute. Of course, the fun part for me was seeing Clara walking. AND the youngest boy, 5 years old, just got glasses. He is SO CUTE. I made a LO of it. Don't think I've posted it here...will do that today.

Yes. Interesting that swimming and cycling don't hurt my hips at all. Must be the angle.

Our church sponsors a picnic each year, inviting other home churches to join us. That's happening tomorrow, so I'm making potato salad today to take tomorrow.

Okay...one more slosh of coffee, then into the shower to TRY and wash the chlorine smell off of me (I feel like I always smell like a swimming pool!).

Sharron, thanks for your kind support of all my "cow" pages! I've had a lot of fun with them, but may quit now. Still have a horse and some other pages to do from our Oklahoma visit, but I'll get there. I've been eying some of the ARTSY challenge pages you did for ideas. I know the hip situation is only for you to decide, but I've had two friends have wonderful success with it, one of them a lady maybe 80 when she did it. You're having such excitement with Clara now walking (& taking selfies!), the Marisol arriving (good luck on finding just the right box), and getting more kiddie time.

Nancy, by all means find a hidey hole for a spare key. I know I forget so many things that I would think if it could happen once, it could happen again. But, hey, it worked out in the end. Glad you got the root beer float. That sounds so good, except I never liked root beer. Should be more good weather today.

Chris, it is wonderful hearing about a good day. Sure hope that continues and the shopping doesn't wear you out. Hope you get fun undies!!

Since today's the day, Trudy, here's more hugs to ease the quiet in the house. ::grouphug

Hope it'll be a great weekend for all!
