Today is my 27 year anniversary of when Gary and I started dating. That is so long, the kids noticed that it is more than half of our lives. Way more.
They are so adorable, my two kids. They offered to take us out to the diner last night. So we all pooled some money together and went out. Cait and I came home with enough leftovers to last us at least 3 more meals. They must have used a pound of pasta in my dish.

It was a nice end to a long day. I have deep grooves in my molars that need to be filled. The dentist said that it is much better/cheaper to get them done while they are small rather than full blown cavity or cracked tooth. My insurance should cover some of it and I'll have 1 tooth done/month to spread out the cost.

I cleaned my neighbor's house and was freaked out by some weird noise that I kept hearing. It sounded like the front door was opening but no one was ever there. Turned out that it was a squirrel climbing on the window screen in the kitchen. He feeds the squirrels and they love him :D

Then we waited for Caitlyn to get home from work. Of course, this was the latest day that she had worked since she had been hired. She is scheduled to be there until 6.30 when they close but if her kids go home earlier, she can leave earlier. Usually, she is home around 6. Last night-- 6.45 while we were waiting to go out. By that time, I am 99.99999% in pajamas and thisclose to be ready for bed. haha!!

Today, I have some housework to do then I am meeting BFFATS to go to the lake for a couple of hours. It is her birthday so it will be a nice way to wish her a good one.

Hoping that all of you have a fabulous Friday!

:bliss: yay! Trudy is back!!! We missed you here, but I am sure not as much as you are missing your babies. All of them.
I loved seeing all of the pics of that sweet Hunter and the silly ones of Mason. ;) I know that you will worry about Heather but you raised her, she must be tough and level headed. I am sure that she is also having Mason take care of himself too so she has a few less things to worry about.
But it still must be hard for you. Enjoy looking at your 300 pictures! You will have lots of scrap material from them.

I am so sad to hear of the heat wave and wildfires near you. We have had a lot of rain here, thunderstorms at night mostly and we haven't had to put the AC on often at all. Very odd for us.

Nancy- that is super news about being able to get out for a while and not have to take pain meds for your knee.! :whoo:
GMTA- about Trudy giving Heather a good head start.

Rae- 45 lbs-- that is incredible!!!!! Good for you!!!!
I hope that all of the birds are ok too. So sad to see wildlife hurt. Goodluck getting all of your work done and have a super weekend at the trailer with Taz and Beckham. Darrell too :p

xoxoxo!

Morning O-zies... I was up at a early time... 6am, but better than the 4am I did yesterday !! Another hot day here and its funny that Rae thinks it is muggy here LOL, I find it quite dry compared to the humid heat of Ontarible (thats what B.C. people call Ontario :becky:) It is sunfest weekend here in the Cowichan Valley and so there is a huge Country Music festival going on at LakeTown Ranch which is between the Town of Lake Cowichan and the Village of Youbou. Thousands of people from all over and so it will be crazy to try to get to the Lake for a swim . We are planning to get to my brother's place on the river for a swim today instead and I am sure that there will be hundreds of people tubing down the river and putting on a show for all of the river front owners! Yesterday I got my hair cut and coloured, it felt so good!!! Man did I ever need it, it was a couple of weeks overdue LOL!

Chris - I missed you too!! It is nice to be back home, even though I am missing everyone very much! Heather face timed with us yesterday and she is getting along very well so far! Hunter is such a good baby and sleeps pretty good for her at night. Jonah is very good with the kids and takes them when he can to give her a break! It helps me to sleep better at night knowing that! One thing that Heather has to really work on is getting Mason toilet trained, he will NOT go to the toilet and I can't believe that a 4 year old is still in diapers, but it seems to be the norm these days!! I tried my best to get him interested while I was out there, but he is one stubborn kid!! :becky: It sounds like you and your Gary were meant for each other!! So nice that you have known each other for that long!! My Gary and I are the same we went together for 8 years before he popped the question lol and we have been happily married for 40 years YIKES!! :fear: I have had a busy morning getting coupons to the July challenge winners and then I have to get the challenge 6 up and running but it is a nice relaxing thing to do and there is no stress involved so that is nice! I hope you have a wonderful stress free day too!!

Rae - Thanks for understanding about how I feel to be home! I wish I was a better photographer and I now have the daunting task of trying to get some of these photos edited and pick out the ones I want to have printed out. I am looking forward to our meeting up this fall or whenever is good for you! I hope that you enjoy your time at the trailer and that where you are going is not so smokey! Wow 45 lbs gone!! You must feel fabulous! I am at the 30 lb mark now and having to buy new clothes and most likely will need a new swimsuit to do my laps in too ugh I hate the price of new bathing suits!! Hope you can get to wear your jean jacket I love them too!! Have fun with Jen at the organic store! Hope you find some good deals!!

Nancy - So nice that you and your sister get to talk and laugh so much! Isn't it wonderful to have that closeness even though you are far away! I had no idea that Haile Berry was on the Keto Diet?? How fun is that! Thanks for the nice comments about giving Heather a good start!! I miss them all so much, but feel better this time about leaving than I did with Mason, I know she is a very capable Mommy!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that your knee continues to improve and you can get back to walking Luther again!!

Ok I best get some breakfast for DH, pancakes for him and scrambled eggs and avocado for me. Have a wonderful Friday everyone.

good morning - well it is lunch here but I have to be out doing errands. Yes I got out. I had to cash a check and pick up prescriptions. My knee hurts but that is what pain drugs are for LOL. Today will be the world juniors showcase games with USA/Finland and Sweden/Canada. Love having this little bit of hockey. The day started with our first real morning thunderstorm. Lots of thunder and lightning before the drenching rain. Of course my DH and Luther were out walking - he weather app said that no rain until 9 am. I don't think he should use that app LOL. My son realized they were out and woke me up to ask me where I thought they might be. Luckily I was right and they were rescued. You would think that my DH might bring his phone in case of an emergency. Oh well. At least they were rescued and not too too wet. Made a great dinner of roast chicken with a baby spinach salad which contained squash and red peppers. Fun to eat when everything comes together. Tonight is my night off. I think I will have pizza.

Chris 27 years is a long time. Congrats! How fun to go out and celebrate. Does not sound like the teeth are too bad but I guess you have to take care of them if you want them to last. Funny story about the squirrel. Would have freaked me out too!

Trudy sounds like a busy weekend in your area. We are hot mid 80s with lots of humidity today and tomorrow. But should be better by Sunday. Funny how you don't feel the humidity after Ontario.

Rae wow 45 lbs is just amazing! Congrats and you deserve to get yourself some new clothes. Have fun shopping with Jen! Always good to find meat on sale. How fun to have Beckham for the weekend. I am sure he will be thrilled to be with Taz! Enjoy the time at the trailer!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I was in the shower when Beckham and his owner showed up at the door this morning at 7:30. Good thing Darrell was home to answer the door. I got dressed, got Beckham outside for a pee, put down a hallway runner so he doesn't fall as he has a hard time navigating the hardwood floor with 3 legs, he slides too much. I put a water bowl in the basement, blocked off the stairway so he can't try to navigate the stairs on his own (which he can't do but his brain seems to think he can) and now he's finally settled and laying down beside my office chair. It's taken 1.5 hrs to get him settled and calm. He'll be fine now. He gets a little freaked out when his owner first leaves him, as he is so dependent on him now, but he's calming down except for a bit of panting now and he'll start napping soon. The chemo leaves him tired and quickly saps his energy. He'll curl up on the back seat of the car later and sleep the whole ride out (which is what he did last time). I'll bring my camera and take a few more pics of him and Taz. It will be awhile after this before we see him again and possibly the last time, depending on his health. So I will cherish this wkend with him. He will love spending most of the days out on the deck/patio at the trailer. Taz will be mentally worn worn out by Monday night, as he spends his time watching, directing and following Beckham around.

Chris - glad to hear you will be getting away for a few hours with your BFF. Enjoy it. That's too funny about the squirrel on the screen. I can imagine how puzzling it must have been, trying to figure out what the noise was.

Trudy - I didn't want to say anything about keto to you b/c I wasn't sure if you were able to stay on track while you were away. But hearing that you are 30 lbs gone....that is awesome! I too had to buy a new swimsuit and found some great sales at Sears. I've been hot water washing/drying on high heat to try to shrink clothes down so I can wear them a bit longer. It's worked for a lot of my clothes, thankfully, and now am just taking my time, watching for sales. It didn't make much difference in my jean jacket, it's still too big but I'm going to wear it anyway, at least until I find another one. I love the blue polka dot jean jacket I bought last week but I still want a traditional jean jacket. They are hard to find. It seems like the ones out for the fall all have frayed edging on them which I don't want. Hopefully I'll find one in Bellingham. Have fun going swimming today. I was just chatting with someone recently about the delayed toilet training in many kids today. You are right, 4 is acceptable nowadays whereas when my kids were toddlers, it was normal to have them trained before 2. Things change :)

Nancy - you have games to watch today, don't you? If so, enjoy them. I read an article about Haile Berry last night and am happy about all the publicity she is getting about keto. Anything that helps awareness is good b/c most people don't understand, am so suspicious of it and think that it is dangerous to do. I"m glad you mentioned that to me, thx.

I better go, have to get Beckham outside for a minute, get another coffee and get to work. We'll be heading out this afternoon for the trailer so need to get all my work and chores done beforehand. Have a great day, everyone.

Doesn't happen often but looks like I was cross-posting with Nancy this morning.

As usual, your meal sounds delicious. I can't eat a lot of what you cook but I sure enjoy hearing about them and the combinations of food that I wouldn't always think would work together. Had to laugh about the weather app. I too am totally dependent on what mine says and yes, it is something wrong, so I'm not prepared.

Just a quick post. A friend in Michigan (who we haven't seen in many years) is on her way here for a weekend visit with us and some other folks, but staying we us. We aren't good housekeepers, so spent the last two days cleaning.

Chris, hope it's lovely at the lake with BFFATS! Love your LO with Cait and pig!!

Nancy, sure hope that knee keeps feeling better. Nice to have some hockey in the summer.

Trudy! So nice for us to have you back. Can't imagine what you mean about humidity in Ontario. ;) Living across a lake from them I assume I live in the same conditions.

Rae, have a great weekend and time with Beckham.
