TGIF everyone! What an "exciting" week on the east coast. I hope that everyone who has experienced Irene and is about to is safe and as dry as possible.
We have done as much prep work as we can. its always so hard to tell what to do, do you get sucked into the hype and freak out? Or do you blow it off and get stuck if it is truly as bad as they say?
How crazy is it that i feel that I can't even trust the weather service any more to not play a "ratings game?" I feel so cynical, but I can't say how may "storms if the century" I have lived through recently- mostly involving a few inches of snow.
OTOH- we have a lot of trees, and the ground behind our house is really wet. After H. Floyd in 1999, several trees came down, one missing our shed by a few feet. I dunno!!!!
I think I am mostly worried about losing power. No power= no water! We lost power last year for a couple of days and it really bites!

I am blabbering LOL

Oh well, you all love me anyway! And I have a whole month of being quiet that i need to catch up on.

Terra- oh no! That must have been a crazy night!!! I can't imagine!!

"ZOMG A hurricane! I need to have 5 cases of bread and 10 cases of TP!"

I worked at WalMart on NewYears eve right before the Millennium "Computer Meltdown Apocalypse" happened... I don't think there was toilet paper, water or beans left in the entire state the next day!

I am now wondering... is this primarily an American phenomenon? Or do Europeans or other areas do this too?

morning- off to work- my DC son(s) are coming home to get away from the city for the storm and to work on my basement ceiling--will need groceries after work for sure!!

HI ladies!!!! Just another day here.....Savannah took a 3 1/2 hour nap today...and guess who took a 2 hour nap??? :peace: MMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Mike kept me up last night most of the night, tossing and turning terribly...I knew he was starting to feel bad and about 1:30 he started coughing....I finally got up at 2:30 and brought him some cough medicine....He said he felt sluggish today...but not as bad as he felt yesterday.....I think it's the slight change in the weather...a small allergy attack.

But needless to say...Miss S was FULL OF HERSELF this afternoon!!

ANY BIG PLANS FOR ANYONE FOR THE WEEKEND????

I want to get out of the house for sure...so we will have to come up with something....

Oh....any Planet of the Apes fans??? Cameran LOVES the first one and I took him last Friday to see the 2nd one....it was actually really good. I thought the apes were going to be mean but they weren't....it was few certain HUMANS that were!!!!

I also watched a couple of good movies from Netflix this week too....Source Code and The Lincoln Lawyer. RECOMMEND BOTH OF THESE!!!!

Okay....better get to the kitchen.....Mike is gonna want some dinner when he gets here about 7:30....poor thing...he works too hard!!!

shopping done, pizza bought and cookies will be baked tomorrow- my boys will be here tonight, we will get the ceiling up tomorrow.
