It's Dance Party with the Animals Friday!

Another week is in the books and a wild-ish one at that. It's kind of disorienting, everything is changing yet nothing is changing. At least not right now. As in today. ;)

Yesterday was uneventful. That's a good thing. I cleaned for my friend and then spent the afternoon cooking dinner. I made a vegetarian pot pie which takes forever but is worth it. And there are leftovers for tonight. Woo hoo!
I also made an appt with a bridal shop to try on some MoB dresses. The place we had wanted to go, a mile from my mom's house, is closed for vacation. I found one about 20 minutes from me and called for an appt. Then I looked again at their website and saw the prices of the dresses. They didn't show up unless you hovered over the image. If I had seen them, I never, ever, not in a gazillion years, made the appt. The average dress was $1000. That is MoB dress prices. The bridal gowns were between $2-3,000.
:jawdrop2:
I thought about canceling the appt but figured WTH, it's not like I was planning on buying one yet anyway. But man, I am freaking out. The staff there is going to be used to a much classier clientele than me. That isn't a cut against me, it's simply the truth. I wouldn't know how to act swanky if you made me. I am going to need to come home and play in the dirt and talk to my bug friends afterward just to reset myself Bwuhahah!

Anyone have nice plans for the day? Anyone want to trade with me? :rotfl:

Today I am grateful that I am spending the day with my daughter and my mom.

Meeeeeee too!
Mark came in from work while I was chopping away on the tomatoes, g.pepper, onion and jalapeño. I had already been working on it for 1 1/2 hours. When I finished an hour later and was mixing the final ingredients into it (cilantro, lime juice, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder) he walked into the kitchen! I said, well, that is FINALLY done! It only took 2 1/2 hours! He laughed and said, "I REALLY appreciate it!" NUF said! ;)

Good Morning (barely)!
I woke up at 6:45 the first time this morning. Got up and took the COVID protocol meds (I still have 2 days left of the meds) and went back to bed. Didn't see the light of day again until 9:30! Mark was up and eating breakfast and drinking his coffee. He soon was dressed and headed out the door to unload a tree he cut for his ex-MIL. She always gives him the trees that she needs cut down. Even though she is an ex-MIL, she still calls and he still goes. He was married to both of her daughters (twins)! True story!
Anyway, It is such a nice day (so far), with low humidity. I'm sitting on the deck as we speak. Just enjoying the cooler temps (low 80's) and lower humidity! I couldn't resist coming out and watching the birds while I clean up email and visit with everyone here. Makes me HUNGRY for fall weather!
Mark and I plan to go to Ruby Tuesday's for an early supper.....so he can be back in time for a football game. Whatever! At least I don't have to mess with supper prep! It's a win-win! ;)
I'm still keeping with my routine of making my bed when I get up (95% of the time, anyway), walking into the kitchen, opening the dishwasher to put the dishes away while the coffee is perking and after that.....it's anything goes! But, I feel like I have accomplished something because my kitchen is clean and the bed is ready to climb into at night! So, I'm beginning and ending my day in a relaxed way!
I hear the red-bellied woodpecker near, so I'm going to close this out and get my camera ready!
Have a great day!

Good morning all.

I forgot to tell you girls that Adrienne's windchimes are Corinthian wind chimes and they're so deep and resonating. Not irritating at all just very Zen. I've been spending more time with her because Roger's gone again back to Florida to his real job. Whenever he's gone, we do whatever we want. We laugh because he wants her to spend all her free time with him when he's here. I mean, we all go out to eat and have meals up there, but we fly by the seat of our pants when he's gone. :swinging::airplane: It used to be the same way when Chuck went out of town, which was a lot. We had no rules while he was gone, then the night before he was coming home, we all hustled and cleaned up the house. We still laugh about it. :floorlaugh:

Chris @faerywings that place sounds very hoity toity. You'll have some funny stories to tell us anyway.

Linda, glad you got Syd settled in. The new place sounds great and I'm sure she'll be happy there. Adrienne's doing pretty well, but she wants to go see B maybe tomorrow. Alyssa told her to let him have fun - she didn't need to go there his first weekend. He's having so much fun with his new friends and classes don't start for at least another week.

I'm going to hop on out now. Hugs to everybody and I may pop (hop and pop) back in later. HAGD XOXO

Good morning ladies. We had one house showing yesterday and nothing booked for the wkend. I think the interest rates, the wildfire smoky air and the economy are making it too hard to sell our home. We will probably have to wait until next spring and try again but we'll leave it up for sale until the end of Sept. I am still trying to feel hopeful.

Darrell is back in the hospital with another fistula (crohn's complication), poor guy, the 3rd one this summer. He had surgery last night so hopefully will be home again tomorrow.

I will be up at the hospital later for a visit with D but other than that will stay inside, the smoky air is terrible. I have a sore throat, headache and burning eyes from going out in the yard with the dogs. I've come to hate summer here. Looking forward to the fall...cooler temps, end of wildfires and then it'll be time for our cruise.

@faerywings S & S got an apartment? Happy for them but I know its hard for you.

@LSlycord Syd's apartment sounds wonderful.

I'm hopping in the shower and will take some tylenol for this headache. At least the weather has cooled off a bit. High 90's is just too much for me to handle so glad that heat wave is over.

HAGD everyone.

I was up, dressed and on the road to the base by 8:30. Got the Rx ordered and drove over to the gas station on the base but it was closed for some work.... UGH... so back to Base Exchange Pharmacy to wait to pick-up the Rx. Then over to the commissary and had a nice surprise... lettuce, celery, grapes all had big price drop on them!!! Also got bacon for half-price! Drove back to the gas station and it was open. Gas was $3.85 gallon. Prices in town are over $4. Got home just after 1 PM. Really pooped and ready to rest.

Yes, I am very pleased with my Neuro doc. I need to take today's BP... then start taking the new Rx tomorrow. Will have to check BP every day for awhile to make sure BP doesn't fall very much while I am taking it.
