:clap2: we made it to Friday!

I am in a little less of or a funk than I was in yesterday. I am not as stressed as I was so there is that. I cleaned half of my office area. Considering that it is an 8x8 box, you might be wondering how I only managed to clean half. LOL I was partway through when Gary asked if I wanted to go out a bit, so we took the dogs to the dog park. There was one dog there already and Ray wasn't all that thrilled. After he left, the two of them ran around a bit. Then when another dog came, Ray was done so we brought them home.
I took a short lunch break and then went out to move some plants around. I had to dig up some tiger lilies first, then move the monarda to that back spot. When that was done, I had a nice spot in front for the coneflowers that Scott brought home the other day. Some of the monarda and balloon flowers that didn't fit got moved around the yard. They may or may not make it but my fingers are crossed that they will.
My goal is that next year I will have a lot of bee and butterfly friendly plants.

Today I have nothing planned outside of some scrap goals. I hope that I am able to get a lot of that accomplished.

Hope that all of you have a wonderful day!

Nancy- :first: on a great check up! I bet that not walking Luther every day is hard for you, but you are getting out more and more and that is a really good thing! You are in *way* better shape than I am ha!!
Good for you and your son to be talking about the news. Even if we don't agree, it is so vital to have that communication going.

Trudy- the weather here was perfect for yard work, sunny but not so hot that it was miserable to work. In fact, I was cool in the shade. I am in total denial about the summer weather. I feel like I am still waiting for it to warm up properly. Bet it feels good for you guys since it has been so unusually hot out by you.

what kind of problems are you having with your tablet? I am still unable to figure out why the Ctrl function keeps turning itself on. I will tap a link, and next thing I know, I get the little box that says CTRL in it and any link I click opens in a new tab. I have to hit the actual Ctrl key to turn it off. I cannot figure out what that is happening. There are a few other "quirks" that I can't seem to get a handle on either and the tutorials have been no help since they seem to be more focused on how to use the tablet and pen for artistic reasons. Please LMK if you can find anything online that is helpful.

Rae- What is Radium Girls about? The title sounds ominous. I finished The Magician's Lie and now started reading Museum of Curious Thing (I think that is the title) by Alice Hoffman. I need some lighter stuff to read ATM too.
I am thinking that I wish we had a Value Village by me. Sounds like you guys have good luck getting some great deals.
I think that my insecurities of my LOs done for the MoS were partly due to my mood and that the Geometric one was so out of my realm on all levels. But this is why I save my psds. I can rework it when I need to do Christopher's book. Or not. He will still like it even if f it isn't "my style."

Jean- I guess after having your roof done, it is bound to be less annoying to hear the neighbor's done in comparison. Good vibes that your knee is better every day. And yes, dirt therapy is the best thing ever for me. Is it awful that I live vicariously through Scott at work and I bug him nonstop about plant advice? :D

good morning - today is a total rain day. Luther luckily is at daycare so he will be busy even if it is raining. I had tried to make reservations but they did not have any but said you could try walk in and so the boys took Luther and they had space. That was lucky. My DH is staying home. Taking a mental health day before the new semester begins. I am getting ready for my trip to SC and the total eclipse. They are saying thunderstorms but I can only hope for sunny weather. It only takes 90 min for the eclipse to go across the country. That seems so fast. But there will be two mins of totality so I hope to get at least one photo. Made a great chicken dinner last night with a farro salad with green beans, capers and red peppers and then a great tomato sauce. Today I am having pizza and then next week great food in SC. Got out 2x yesterday with Luther. Short walks but we did go so that was awesome and he was happy. Had a fun talk with my sister.

Just a quick prayer for those in Spain. So very sad.

Chris so glad that you got to work in the garden. Glad your cone flowers have found a nice new home. I want hydrangea plants in my backyard and a crepe myrtle, hope I spelled that correctly. Love the idea of butterflies and bee plants. How nice that you and Gary to the dogs to the park.

Trudy glad that the river and lake warm up and that there are not sharks. You have the best emojis. That is amazing how there are those connections with your DH and Heather's father in law. I bet it was a lovely retirement party. That is so cool about the hummers flying in your face. They are such awesome birds. Have fun making your tomato sauce and ketchup.

Rae I have never heard of that book. I am reading Sinner and it is one strange book. There is a TV show and that is what made me pick up the book but it is a bit depressing. But now I really have to finish it.

Jean glad that you got your roof is done. We did that too but we sound like your neighbors and it took about 5 days. They had to take to roof off all the way down and then put on the new. Glad your knee is doing better.

Have a great day all!

Happy Friday ladies!! I am happy that tonight I get to pick up Isaac and Sadie from their other grandparents and bring them here to spend the night. Then we are all heading to Courtney to take the kids back home and stay with them up there. :bliss: It is the only weekend that they have available to spend with us, before the kids head back to school. Next week they all travel to Tofino to do some surfing and then they are spending the Labour Day weekend out on the sailboat. I sure hope the weather is good for them! They are a very busy family!!

Chris - You have been busy in your garden!! Sounds like you will have a bee and butterfly haven when you are all done with your planting! How great that you can get plant advice from Scott, I could use his knowledge in my garden too. My poor Roses are not doing very well this year after moving them to the other side of the yard last fall. Hardly any blooms at all this year  I feel the same denial about summer also, seems I missed most of it being out in Ontario, too busy to really enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Hopefully we will have an Indian Summer that will last long into September! I have been having some glitches with my new Ituios tablet, just have never spent the time to properly set it up and learn what things I can use to work with Photoshop. I think I like my old Bamboo Tablet better! Then because I also use a track pad instead of a mouse for my iMac they kind of clash with one another and things get all discombobulated if you know what I mean?? I have to remember to move my track pad away when I am using my wacom tablet. Still need to watch video 3 for the set up. ( Yes there are 3 videos showing how to set everything up on it) Half of it I will probably never use LOL.

Nancy - We are most likely cross posting!! Hope that you and Luther manage to get out for a nice walk today! Sure hope that your knee continues to improve, my DH wants to get back out hiking , but oh my his poor knee just won't allow it, so much pain!! The doctor keeps telling him to get an exercise bike, but I still don't see one in our house :becky: One day he will finally cave in and find one.

Rae - I did do some shopping at Winners yesterday and found a couple of cute tops and a really nice pair of leggings they were all under $15 each so I thought that wasn't too bad of a deal. The leggings were only $8 and I just love them. Still need to hit a Value Village soon though, perhaps on our way back from Courtney we will see if there is a good V V in Naniamo and do some browsing. Although my DH is not a great one to shop with LOL. No patience whatsoever!! I would rather make the trip with my sisters or you!! :becky: Hope you find a book that is a bit less depressing to read! I really need to get back to reading a bit more, I just can't seem to get into anything since reading all the Outlander books, patiently waiting for Diana Gabaldon to come out with her next one :wait1: Hope your friday is not too filled with work. Are you headed to the trailer this weekend? If so have a great time!

Jean - Glad to hear that your knee is doing better and healing on its own! Ugh on the noise from the roofers, you will be glad to see it all finished! Yes it is amazing that Heather and Jonah ended up together after all these years, they met when we travelled back to Saskatchewan to attend a mutual friends daughters wedding and Jonah was head over heels for her as soon as they met. We have known his parents for many years, but never really met their children. After a long distance relationship Jonah finally convinced Heather to move out to Ontario. I was not thrilled about that, but just wanted her to be happy and look at them now, two beautiful babies and happy in their little town!

Well I better get my cleaning done today as the weekend will fly by and I usually leave my major cleaning for Sunday, I am sure I won't want to be doing that when I arrive back home Sunday evening! I know I am a clean freak lol. All the plants outside need a good watering too, so I best do that before the heat of the afternoon. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will catch up with all of you on Monday morning!

Pretty nice today and DH did his bird survey this morning (now napping because of the early start it requires). I get up much later! Hope to get to the historical society this afternoon.

Chris, your garden time seems to have accomplished a lot. So with the dog park and half cleaned up office, it was a productive day. Hope you're happily scrapping now.

Nancy, I've been thinking about you and the trip to SC for the eclipse. Sure hope weather is cooperative. Here we'll only get about 80% coverage but still noticeable. Love the great treatments you get for the BA meals. They sound so good. Anyway have a great trip.

Trudy, sounds like a super weekend coming for you. Also opportunity for more photos of grands! Congrats on the successful shopping and hope you find more.

Rae, you're undoubtedly hard at work. Hope you'll have a great weekend!

Happy Friday to all.

Good afternoon, ladies. I've had a busy morning, getting some CT stuff done, doing laundry (trying to shrink down the last bit of over-sized clothes I had packed away) and packing up the bags for the Bellingham consignment (5 huge bags, I had no idea I had that many winter clothes still), and also getting my desk work done.

I'm heading out to the bank now to get some US money to bring with us and Jen is coming over soon for a tea and will give me a list of what she needs me to get for her from Bellingham.

Chris - sounds like some good dirt therapy for you. I too continue to have the Ctrl problem with the tablet. The other thing that happens is sometimes the 12x12 LO I'm working on in PS turns on its axis (instead of seeing a square, I see an off kilter diameter shape KWIM?). It happens when I am holding the tablet pen, hovering over the tablet. I can't figure out how to fix it so I have to save and close my LO page and then when I re-open it, it is back to the normal square shape.

Trudy - wouldn't we have fun shopping! I can't wait for us to get together in the fall.

Nancy & Jean - hope you are having a good day. I have to get off the computer and zip over to the bank now so no time to chit-chat anymore now.

Have a great day, everyone.
