I am not having a very happy morning. The news just stinks. It isn't even like I am soaking up the news, you can't avoid this if you wanted to. It is nonstop horrible. Police shooting a 13 yo boy, another mass shooting. It is heartbreaking.

Anyway, I am tired, I had strange dreams and woke up feeling "off." I wish I could crawl back into bed and burrow under the covers but nope, I have other "fun" stuff to do. I am relieved that I didn't wait until the last minute to file taxes. Caitlyn's keep getting rejected through eFile and I can't figure out why. The item they say is incorrect is 100% correct, I have triple and quadruple checked it. She can file by mail which means I have to go back and print everything again.
I also have to drive her to the vet this morning with Cordelia whose tumor is growing very quickly. She is tentatively scheduled for surgery but Caitlyn wants to talk to the vet before he does it because Dilly might not be a good candidate for surgery since she is old. She is 2 1/2 yo, the life span for rats is an extremely short 2-3 years. It might not be a good day because of that either.
The majority of my day was spent working on the taxes, then laundry and cleaning.
At least the sun is out today but it is too cold for yard work.

Look at me being Miss Cheerful. /s

Let me sign off before my crankiness engulfs all of you too.

xoxoxo!

@felis, I don't worry about *everything* just 98% of everything :D

@Cherylndesigns My dog was the best dog, my soul mate, even if she chewed two couches. heh. Thank goodness that Roger is feeling better. Did he fly from FL to OK? Thank goodness that he didn't have any clotting issues from being on the plane too. So scary.

Kay- the haircut looks fantastic and that is great it is so easy to take care of. Love how it comes down over the ears! How far of a drive for your sister to travel to you? All fingers are crossed for good weather. There was snow in southern CT this morning. Frost by me, but no snow. Whew.
That is good to hear that the other Walmart has cashiers. I don't mind using self-checkout for a couple of things but for larger orders, I prefer humans. *g*

Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!! Now-- that is news I needed to hear today! *happy dancing for your family* Honestly, it really did lift my mood and heart! Do they have a time frame for the wedding?

@felis I think I could be a sloth. I move at a slower speed often myself. It has to be an adjustment to work, then not work, then work from home, and so on. I am looking forward to seeing your crochet projects. I haven't touched many of mine in a week. Can't wait to see your scrap pages too!

xoxo

Morning everyone! It is a sunny morning and I have wasted more time than I should browsing the internet this morning! My Silhouette Machine arrived on my Birthday Day, so I have been really busy trying to learn as much as I can about it. One of the reasons that I was not in here yesterday. Along with having a very long Face time with Mason! We sat and chatted in his fort that he made on his top bunk bed, so cute! We played the Guess Who game also and then it was his lunch time. Heather and I talked for quite awhile also. I looked at the clock and realized that I was going to be late for my lap swimming if I didn't get going. So no morning chores got done until after I arrived back home. I made banana mini loaves and got supper ready to go and then got my grocery order in so I could pick it up today. Wow the day just flew by and I forgot to even pop in here to say hi to everyone. So I hope you will all forgive me if I am not present too much here in the next few weeks. I am excited to learn about my silhouette machine and start to work on some projects with it, once I figure it all out. It will be another busy weekend for us as we head to the nursery on Saturday and pick up some plants for the front porch and hopefully find a bush for the backyard to replace the one that died over the winter. The temps are warm and sunny all weekend, so I will have to dig out my shorts and sleeveless tops. It will be great to be outside and in the sunshine!

@faerywings - Chris I am sad that you are feeling so down! Also so very sad about the shootings! Starting to lose faith in humanity, when will all this madness end??? Everyone I talk to is fed up with Covid, put a fork in us we are done!! But now is not the time to give up, we need to get this under control!! I too have been having so many strange dreams, none of them make sense and they are usually all about people getting hurt. Wish my brain would just shut down for a bit! That sucks that you cannot figure out what the heck is wrong with the e-file for Caitlyn's taxes and then to have to worry about the tumor sugery on top of it! I will send you all the hugs and warm sunshine I can today!

@BrightEyes - I love your new haircut! Must be so easy to take care of! It is nice to see that you are feeling so much better and you are back to busily scrapping again! It will be so nice for you to see your sister once again, sure hope that the forecast for snow is incorrect!! Yes I prefer to go through the checkouts with real people, but like Chris I will use the self serve ones if I only have a couple of things.

@nancyr - Woo Hoo for your son and your future DIL!! What happy news finally!! You will become an instant Grandma, that is wonderful!! Your days will be filled with wonderful happy kids and special moments! Have they set a date yet?

@felis - Yes I too could become a sloth, it would be nice to just laze around and not do anything for bit! My days seem to be very busy lately, although I feel like I really don't get too much accomplished LOL. I look forward to seeing your newest crochet items!

@Cherylndesigns - Hope that you are enjoying some less windy days! I bet you will be glad to have the shutters all done! Any news about when you will have your WiFi?

Ok I am expecting another face time call from Heather and I still need to get my second cup of coffee and get the dishwasher emptied. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Not sure I will be popping in here over the weekend, but I will try!

Good afternoon my lovelies. This is one of the highlights of my day - hearing from all of you sweet ladies. Chris @faerywings don't worry about "engulfing" us! We need to talk about the "downer stuff" too. This is a no judgement zone and I love that. Yes, the shootings are terrible and the insanity has not stopped. Chuck just told me that more people were shot in Indianapolis! A lot of our family lives there. Indianapolis has been SO bad for a long time - a lot of people don't realize how high the crime rate there is. It's just a little bit under Detroit. The "D" is actually moving up the ladder a little bit.

Yes, we love our dogs no matter what they do. I always told them it was a good thing they were cute. Haha We didn't have to housebreak Sam (the Lab we rescued) or Daisy - she was 6 months old when we got her. Sam had a lot of bad habits, but going in the house wasn't one of them. If he got anything wrapped around his legs, he went berserk. We figured he'd been chained up for long periods of time or kept in a crate all the time. Poor guy. We loved him out of it, though.

Nancy @nancyr congratulations to your son!!! I'm so happy for them - sounds like everybody is beyond thrilled!! That's definitely GOOD news!!

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like you had a busy, but productive day. Talking to the kids is ALWAYS productive!! I'll take talking to the kids anytime!! The other stuff can wait. Have fun at the nursery. My hubby surprised me with 5 big ferns yesterday. He's going to hang them along the front of the porch! I love ferns so much and can hardly wait to get them up.

Felis @felis, I can join the Sloth Brigade too. What a cute picture is forming in my mind right now. All of us as sloths, "slothing along" or whatever sloths do. ROTF

I just got Momma O's Scraplift challenge done, and I did the Crazy Wall. What fun I had with that! Even got Daisy in as a suspect. She's the suspected "mule". Hahaha

Gotta run and do a few chores before the gang comes over. They're bringing pizza and SIL is feeling lots better!!

Love and hugs and have a great weekend.

good evening - my son and his fiancé (love writing that) just stopped in so I could give them hugs and see the ring in person. We will go out to dinner to celebrate. Time frame is for late in the year as my son does not do well in heat. LOL. Had a good walk with Luther, just as we began it started sprinkle but it never did more so we it was good. My DH called while walking and had me put the phone near Luther's ear and talked to him but Luther kept looking for him. Poor guy. He kept looking for him for a while but then like a good dog he focused on something else. Had a nice talk with my sister. She is busy and that makes her happy. Then I watched Elf from the beginning (never watched it before) only snippets here and there. It was pretty cute. Then watched Mona Lisa Smile. I remember I wanted to watch this movie but just never did. OMgosh does it make you look at the ads and roles women in the 1950s. Also fun to see all the college aged stars and where their careers have taken them. It really was a star studded movie. Tonight more working on my photos as I watch TV.

@faerywings Chris glad my news helped. It looks like great weather next week. I am so excited to be able to get out! Hope the news was good for Cait and her rat! Hope you dream good dreams. And I am like you the news is terrible.

@taxed4ever Trudy so glad you had such a wonderful FaceTime with Heather and Mason. Have fun with the silhouette! I cant wait to see the new projects!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl thanks for the dog story shares. So fun to read. It just makes me smile on how much we put up with our pets that we would never allow our humans to do. My Luther has to just look at me with sad eyes and he has a treat. My son asks and I say get it yourself. A way of a tail or a purr and my heart melts.

Have a great day all!

Evening. Nancy @nancyr you made me smile about the dogs. Yes, they top the humans sometimes. I'm so thrilled for you all - glad you got to see the ring!! You're making me want to start going through my thousands of pictures. Isn't it crazy how women used to get treated? Have you ever watched Mad Men? OMGosh!!! Talk about a wakeup call. We binge watched it one summer and I could hardly stand to watch some parts of it. What men got away with!! The only salvation was the star - he's absolutely gorgeous! Don Draper - I just looked up his name. What a big jerk though!

We've had a busy day. Ava stopped by and saw the ferns that my hubby bought me (4 of them). She promptly got the ladder out and hung them all on the front porch! My hubby helped her but they look SO nice. He would have "gotten around to it" some time over the weekend, but they're all done. Then I mentioned that I was thinking about moving the furniture around in my scraproom and she said "let's do it now"! What a great girl she is! We flipped the furniture in my scraproom/office and it looks SO nice!!

The family came over for pizza night and everybody's gone home now. We're watching "Anne With An E" (Anne of Green Gables) so we got a couple of episodes in before my hubby and Daisy went to bed. Ava has a new boyfriend, Ryan and she brought him over to meet the family. Brave guy to take on this crowd. We're a handful. He did amazingly well though and seemed to go with the flow. I was impressed that he wasn't in any hurry to leave - he stayed until Ava was ready to go. He was very friendly and talkative.

I'm going to see what other challenges I can do here. Happy Friday night.
