LOL

It's the 13th today! If you believe it's bad luck, than don't walk under ladders, and stay away from black

Chris, I hope you don't mind that I opened a new one

Maureen, did you enjoy your vacation?

Chris, I know how much you can enjoy a new stove!! Is it working fine??
I loved my new oven when we had our new kitchen. It's been used a lot of times allready! And I changed my stove to induction instead of gas. I love it! The best part is that there is a kidslock on it! Even DH asks me everytime how to take it off :der:

LindaS, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I wasn't around much last summer. I totally missed this. Cancer is such a horrible dicease.
My grandmother passed away in May. We think she had cancer to. But she was to old to go to the doctors and have everything examined. And on the other hand, she didn't want to go to the docter.

Yesterday I received my printed photobook! I love it! It turned out beautifull.
Where do you guys print your books?? I ordered mine at www.top-fotoalbum.nl I think it's only for the NL :( They have the lay flat binding. So it makes my photos go from the left to the right perfectly! I'm really happy with my book :D

TGIF! Happy Friday the 13th to everyone except Jason.;)

Yvon- good morning to you! Yup, stove seems to be working fine. The only problem that I am having is that I don't have a place to put my jar candle on the range. There *is* a place, but its off-center. Or if I want to put it on the warming burner, and I put it in the center of the range, then the circle of the element os "off." Between Gary and I and our OCD, this is an issue. LOL
Do you like the induction range? I looked at them, but they were way out of my price range. But wow, they look cool!

Glad to hear that your book came out great!

Phyllis, ahhh! Don't get me started on my soapbox of "disposable consumerism."
We tried to fix the old stove, and the part was totally unavailable. We had no choice but get a new one. Meanwhile my MIL has a fridge in her basement from the 60's that still works. But anything made in the last 2 decades.....the only option is to toss it out and get a new one.
Boo to the family drama. Sorry that you are going through that crap as well. :(

Laurie- how was your day? Sounds like you had lots to get done!

Fran- I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Take Linda S up on her offer if you need to talk. She is a wonderful listener and friend.

Trudy- Hi trudy! Hope that the nexium does the trick for YMG.

Trista-- hi!!! Oh yuck about the flooding. A trick I picked up from my neighbor- they get cheap diapers. The gel absorbs water better than towels and then they can pick them up and throw them out. Hopefully it won't happen again, but thats just something to keep in mind.

J-- you are a wonderful addition to the Cheery Os!!
And yes-- the O-Fam is always together in spirit.

Linda S- just sending hugs to you. Cuz you are awesome.

Maureen! Hey there!! Good to see you! What good fun do you have planned while the hubby is away?

Donna- good morning/afternoon/night whenever you get to see this post!

Finish it Friday::washing:
laundry, I have lots of laundry.......

Just a quick hi - my sis is coming over in a minute and we are doing our traditional Friday grocery shopping. At least it's almost traditional - she finishes work early on Fridays, and we usually go shopping together. Hoping to convince her we need to stop at the crafts store too, I want some thin leather band/string for jewelry making.

I started a class yesterday evening. Pottery I think it's called in English? You know clay. I was amazed how easy it was to work with. I made a mug yesterday. Will paint it next Thursday.

FiF:
I have some scrapping to do :)

Eva. pottery sounds fun. i really have to find something to do to keep my mind more engaged. i thought about joining a book group at the library, but gaggles of women sometimes annoy me. (that's the advantage of the internet: you don't have to deal with me in real life!!)

i have repairmen coming to try to reconfigure the pricy garden window i had replaced in my kitchen. two weeks ago there was condensation coming in under the molding, all around it. the base is wood, so any more of that and i have ruined wood. does ANYTHING work anymore??

snow today, and some siginificant wind expected. i'm pretty sure i'm going to decide against going out and doing some non-essential errands today. maybe i'll take the time to get my 2011 365 book finished so i can send it off to the printer. i was so proud of having DONE the thing, now i keep putting off adding the papers and doodads. go figure.

Happy Friday!

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAYYY FRIDAY THE 13th!!!!!

I don't have a superstitious bone in my body.....and...........

I know some of you have heard this before....but Friday the 13th is good in our family!!!

My grandparents were married on Friday the 13th (July)....were married for 63 years, (and would have been longer, but my grandfather passed away 18 years before my grandmother)...they loved each so much....that was evident to us all....huge inpsirations to our huge family (they had 9 children, 21 grandchildren, and countless great GC and on and on).:love::love::love::love:

...........................and.......................MY OOOOOO sOOOOOO awesOOOOOOOOOOOOme parents were married on April the 13th (and yes that was a FRIDAY) and they have now been married going on 55 years!!!!! And seriously....there were never born two better people!!!!!:love::love::love::love::love::love::love:

Okay.........................my gloating is over :pound:

Okay....I have all four kids here today.....they are already WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUND UP!!! OMG...REALLY at 7 am in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cameran spent the night....so I had three of them getting up here this morning....by 6:15 my bed was full of kids!!! by 6:20 I was ready to strangle them all!!! :eek2: Jaiden came in there first.....Mike got up to shower....she and I were snuggling good and here comes Jesse...they we were talking for a bit...and here comes Cameran....we made room and that seriously lasted for 5 minutes.....

Okay...I gotta go toss some cereal in four bowls and find some constructive things for them to do.....or they are going to probably take some some furniture out UUUUGGGHHHH!!!

Morning ladies... Hooray for Friday!! I hate that I live for the weekends again! I liked it so much better when I was a stay at home mom (not really, just feeling lazy and don't want to go to work today). Not much planned for the weekend, some cleaning, shopping and the usual stuff. Want to look for a Herb garden that I can put in my kitchen window. Hubby's appt went well, he is back on the Nexium and will have a test in a few months where they put a scope down his throat to see what is happening down there. Yuk!! Dr. says he is too young to have such bad stomach problems!

Yvonne - thanks for opening this thread this morning! I guess its not morning for you, but its nice to see your face and hear what is going on in your life each day! Are you having fun being a cheeryO? I love it!! Happy that you are so pleased with your book!

Chris - LOL I love that you and your MG are a bit OCD, just like me and my hubby!! If its not a right angle its a wrong angle...Am I right?? Although my MG gets a bit extreme sometimes, he can't stand it if the light switches aren't all the same Yikes!!

Eva - Have fun shopping with your sister! Your pottery class sounds like it might be fun! I might have to try that someday!

Phylis - Hope your nice window has an easy fix!! Have you ever tried to take a painting class? I love to paint and it really is a great way to express yourself and you don't have to be with a gaggle of ladies as the classes are usually pretty small.

Linda - Maybe you better make sure that breakfast cereal doesn't have any sugar in it!! Sounds like you will have your hands full today!! I am not superstitious either, my sweet mother was born on August 13th and it was a Friday, she was the kindest, most tenderhearted woman in the world!! I miss her everyday!!

Well off to get some breakfast and a second cuppa :tea: hope everyone has a great day and that you all get some time to scrap today!!

Trudy, i would be completely HOPELESS as a painter. my dearth of artistic talent is what led me to DIGI scrapping. i had things in my head as a paper scrapper that there was NO WAY i was going to be able to get down on paper. i couldn't even draw a border around something, freehand, without ruining the entire page!

Good morning everyone. I am not all that superstitious about Fri 13th. I have always been a defender of poor ole #13. ;) It's that icky Jason I try to steer clear of. heehee
Things are settling down in our little world. WHEW!! We are looking forward to a fun weekend of doing very little. :D

Yvonne - Wanted to congrats on joining the Cheery-Os! ;)

Chris - Glad the oven is working out. I can relate to the OCD thing. Alan and I used to be way more particular about things - before kids. HA! A funny story... it kinda runs in Alan's family and his brother has it in a bad way (think Sleeping with the Enemy). YEESH! When we visit (it has to be at least a two day advance notice unless we want to visit outside, no joke!) Alan will intentionally move things around to aggravate his brother. Tilting a frame here and there. The one thing he ALWAYS does is relocate the one lone magnet on their fridge.

Eva - The pottery class sounds very interesting. I know you will have fun exploring a new area of crafting. Have fun shopping with your sister - esp if you make it to the craft store!

Phylis - Good luck with the window repair. It is frustrating when things that cost so much more now than ever, work for less time, if at all. A perfect example... after Christmas Alan and I spent more time "repairing" toys than the kids spent playing with them. :(

Nana - I agree.... no sugar for your bunch. Have fun today!!

Trudy - At least the weekend is within reach. A herb garden sounds like a fantastic idea. There is nothing like cooking with fresh herbs. Have a great day!

Okay... I must run, the little girl wants to have some bundled up in the covers snuggle time. I have no problem saying yes to that! ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!

THE BOYS HAVE BEEN PLAYING INDOOR FOOTBALL ALL MORNING!!!

Well....they haven't broken anything!! so I guess that's not too bad. They keep asking when can they go out....but that isn't going to happen today....it's so so so cold and the wind is blowing like mad!!!

The girls are very subdued for some reason......just watching tv or quietly playing in their room!!

OOOOOOOOOOH and NO SUGAR is correct.....I am probably the only person that does this...but when I give them cereal I never put sugar on it!!! NEVER!!!!

I will be back shortly with some personals

Hey there! (just decided to say that and now I can hear Jessica Sprague saying it...can you?)

I just finished my breakfast ...yep, noon...cause I slept in til 8am today. Nice to be able to actually sleep that long. I'm still in my jammies, but did get two loads of laundry done while clearing emails, checking in to one of two of my online classes that started while I was away, reading the whole paper in the am for a change and just enjoying the quiet. No, Dick is not noisey but he LOL walks around and occasionally asks me something!!

I'm not sure I'm going out today as the wind has picked up and the temperature has dropped a bit. I hope to get a hair cut tomorrow so I may just enjoy the being inside day. Taking a shower will get me out of the jammies but that may be enough for me! I see a day of scrapping, reading and maybe catching a few tv movies. Last night I saw most of It's Kind of a Funny Story. Not great, but a nice tale, especially with a few pieces of chocolate while sitting next to the fire. Ahhhh....

Congratulations to the new Cheery-Os, Yvon and Jacqueline!! I just thought I am about the only one here not on a CT or a Cheery-0! I'm glad you keep me but I suppose you do need an audience, right?!?!??

Back to you later with personals. cya!

Maureen, who wouldn't want to "keep" you?!! I think of it as being a free spirit. I love being here and doing the challenges, but don't want the responsibilities that come with CT and Cheery-O.

And to everyone, hope you are having a good, or at least better day. We finally feel like winter is here.

:D

I'm part of the audience as well Maureen. Congrats to our new Cheeryos

evening all - it was cold and blowy and snowy (sort of- for here maybe 2"- not for my old stomping grounds though) No snow day for me- however in a day with 7 on my schedule, only two came in! Now waiting for MMG to come home, dinner is in the oven, just turned the heat up- forgot the house does not think you are home until 6:30- brrr I set it down to 63 during the day, the dog does not mind. My other piece of artwork that we purchased in NOLA has arrived- left outside our door in a snow drift, but placed in a large plastic bag- I am waiting for it to thaw before unwrapping. If we get some sunlight this weekend, I will post photos of all - the dancers and the street art!
