Yay for Saturday!

What a week. Nothing really went wrong but it was exhausting anyway. My mom came up yesterday, we went to the dollar store and then to lunch. After that, I was so tired that I got into bed and read instead of dealing with house stuff. Gary said how surprised he was to see me do that :)

Today, I am off to the food pantry and then I have to get my office cleaned up. How many times have you heard me say that? I get started but then I slack off and I throw more papers and crud all over and I get more and more disorganized.

I am also behind on a lot of CT stuff here. Not enough energy in the day.:bored:

I hope that all of you have a wonderful and relaxing day/weekend!

It's cold but sunny. Hope it goes well today for you.

Nancy- I can't watch the local news or listen to the radio traffic updates. Like you said, too many accidents in the area. I like not having to drive outside of my little country roads. I hope that the puppies and the Devils had successful days.
Poor Luther- he must miss you being home, but thank goodness for the daycare!

Trudy- you have gotten way more snow this winter than we have. I saw the pic of you and the hubs on FB- so cute!
Were you able to see the book your sister has been working on? Did you try to jump into their luggage to go to Hawaii? I would have LOL

Rae- more snow for you too, which mean Taz is going to be one happy puppy!

Sharon- that is my kind of winter, I don't like the cold at all. The hotter the better and I don't mind humidity even though it makes my hair go *poooooof*.

Jean- Isn't it a fantastic feeling when things work out easier than you expect? And yes, I did have that feeling yesterday too- I had made my mammo appt the other day and it was written as a screening with ultrasound if needed. But the way it was written was only going to be able to do the screening, with no ultrasound which would have been written as diagnostic. (did you get all that?). So when I was awake after my nightmare, I realized that if it was "screening" I could get it done at the place around the corner instead of having to go into the Breast Center that is 40 minutes away. It is the little things... :)
Congrats on getting to see the Merlin! Hopefully, s/he will stick around in the warm weather too.

Better get going, xoxoxo!!!!

It's good to take some time off and read. Glad you did.

I ordered a costume for the ball and it doesn't fit, so I need to recycle something from my closet. I have tons of costumes...decisions decisions.

Morning ladies... it is still snowing!!!! We have a ton of snow on the ground now and the branches on the trees are heavy and dropping huge clumps of snow on the ground. It looks so beautiful, but we have lots of shovelling to do today!! Supposed to snow more tonight yikes I might not be able to make my trip over to Vancouver tomorrow??

Chris - Sorry I must have wrote it down wrong as to when I was going to see my sister. It will not be until tomorrow morning, but if the weather continues to be this bad, then I will not make my brother drive me all over the place. It might have to be a trip for them to their hotel and thats all. We can go and visit our sister another day! But hopefully it will soon turn to rain and we will be rid of the white stuff by tomorrow. I have lots of CT stuff to catch up on too, but never seem to get to it. :mmph: Yes hubs and I went for a nice walk in the snow last night, it was so quiet, until a young couple showed up on our hill with a snowmobile and the girl got dropped off at the top of our hill and snowboarded down to the bottom. They did this for quite a while last night... too cute and fun for them!! We enjoyed watching it!

Jean - what a nice surprise so early in the morning! I hope you have a great day too!

Well DH is wanting some breakfast before we head out to shovel the driveway, so I best get going. Have a great day all!!

Good morning, ladies. I'm keeping this short as I need to get outside to shovel. We have about 8" right now and it is still coming down heavy. So hopefully we are timing it right to shovel now and then again we'll go out this afternoon before dark and shovel the newer snow (supposed to get anouther 5-10" today/tonight). It will be raining next week so the roads should clear up. I have to go get Ava this afternoon so hopefully the roads will be ok. Taz has been having fun. He loves the snow. It will be fun to see him and Ava play across the street at the river this afternoon, running and jumping through the bush in the snow and into the water (they don't seem to care about the cold).

I am excited. I just signed up for Anna's brush class that's coming up.

Chris - sounds like you needed some quiet time.

Trudy - I think the snow is supposed to taper off tonight so your trip should be ok.

Jean and Sharon - good morning, ladies.

Gotta go get my snow shovel and get at it. Then I'll be coming in for a good hot shower.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

good morning well yesterday was busy but I feel good for my son and his dogs. Our trainer Lorrie is amazing and she spent 2 hrs going over the training and working the dogs. We also worked the dogs and it was fun the second time around. I felt I knew more about what to do. My son was amazed at just how much thought went into what she is doing for the dogs. Now they had the whole week to really work on the commands. It was good for me to hear it all again. Luther and I went for a walk as I am finally feeling better and have the time. We did his heel and we did it in an area where he really wants to smell but he was good. He just really hates to sit on the cold pavement! I don't blame him! My Devils lost in OT but it was nice to see my team come back and take the lead but then a bummer to lose it in OT. Tonight they play in Columbus. We are going to a fan club party to watch the game. It is catered so I don't have to cook. Yea! And then tomorrow is the Super Bowl. Not much else going on!

Chris I feel like you an exhausting week. Wow I now know I am truly retired and I love my own time. You are allowed to take an afternoon and just read in bed! Good for you! I am so much happier today with the sun out! Hope your day goes smoothly!

Jean a nice early surprise. Glad all the errands were done and the car fixed so fast!

Sharon going the the Mardi Gras ball sounds so fun!

Trudy wow that is a lot of snow for your area! I hope you get to make the trip to Vancouver. It will be fun to see what your sister has learned! I have a huge book on the history on my maternal side. When I was a kid one of my mother's relatives did the whole history back to the first arrival in the US when it was still a colony. It is awesome. I am sure you will love yours too!

Rae boy you and Trudy and getting lots of snow. I bet Taz is so happy to be out in the snow. Hope you have a great time with Bailey and getting her started on scrapping.

Have a great day!

Is everyone ready for Sunday and the Super Bowl? Like I said before, I don't typically watch the Super Bowl/NFL, but I am sure that Gary will want to. Maybe I will see if I can find a crochet pattern and do that while I sit with him.

I was so bummed at the food pantry yesterday, they didn't have any of the free range eggs. Maybe next month they will have them. man, they are so good. But I got coffee and some other things to help tide us over a bit. I am so grateful, really and truly. Some day, I will be in a position to give back and I will do that. I hate the feeling that I take so much from others and their generosity.

I also got my office dusted really well, and filed a bunch of papers. I still have a lot more work to do in that area, but it is a start. Gary made a really yummy dinner- pasta with caramelized onions and garlic and then we watched a whole bunch of silly shows on Netflix. 30 Rock, Santa Clarita Diet and the Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I am vacillating between wanted to do nothing today or get my act together and be ready for the week. Maybe I can do both although that never seems to work out for me LOL

Hoping that all of you have a terrific day! xoxo

Sharon- yeah, it felt good to read for a while too. The book I am reading is the second in a series of the Kopp Sisters.
Lady Cop Makes Trouble (Kopp Sisters, #2)
One of the reasons I am enjoying it is that it is based in both Passaic County (where I live although I am in the western section) and Bergan County NJ which is a county over from me. I recognize a lot of the towns and features which is neat. It ios also based on a real woman, the first female deputy in the US and the feminist in me loves that.
A costume ball-- details!! That sounds like so much fun (in my prior life that is hahaha!!). I am sorry that the costume didn't fit but I am sure that you put together a great one anyway.

Trudy- you have really gotten so much more snow than on the East Coast. Hope that it stops so you don't have to go crazy with all of that shoveling. One of the "nice" things about my town/street is that we don't have sidwalks so that is one less thing to worry about. You have really gotten blasted. How cute for the snowboarders.
You might have written it correctly about meeting your sister, my brain is mush. ;) I hope that the weather cooperates for you to see your family.

Rae- what a messy day you had with snow too :( I hope it wasn;t too crazy to shovel it all. even with the little bit of snow we go the the other day, Jaida was having so much fun prancing (yes, she prances like a reindeer would. :D ) in the snow, then shoves her nose in it all. If snow didn't make me so darn cold, I would have been out takling pictures.

Nancy- your trainer sounds even more amazing every time you talk about her. You are so lucky, and now your son too, to have found her.
Must have been nice to see your team play better even if they lost. How did they do last night?

I am off to the Gallery now tio leave love. I am always so amazed at how talented you all are.
hugs!

Good morning, ladies. We ended up with about 10" of snow. It was crazy. The dogs loved it (Ava and Taz). They even went swimming, crazy dogs. The snow finally stopped last night so we're only supposed to get flurries today. Our power was out for 5 hrs yesterday. Good thing we have a fireplace. We shovelled out our driveway which was hard work. My hip and back are sore but I can function ok, just stuff and achy but Darrell threw his back out so he's on Tylenol #3. Poor guy. He can relax today and watch the game. I'll be out a few times with the dogs before taking Ava home at dinnertime. Bailey ended up falling while helping a friend move a few days ago and is feeling stiff and sore too. So we'll wait til next wkend to bring her computer over. Mine will be going back to the store this week so they can replace the card reader as a pin in it got damaged and a plastic piece cracked. It's always something with my computer stuff LOL. Nothing surprises me now.

I'm going to take some photos of the dogs over at the river path when we go out in a few minutes. This is probably going to be our last snowfall so I'll have fun getting photos.

Chris - I vote for relaxing today. I'm not watching the game except for half time entertainment. I'll be on the computer watching some videos. I haven't had a chance to watch any of the Photoshop Artistry videos yet so I've decided today I will watch at least one.

Trudy - looks like weather should be ok for the trip today.

Nancy - your trainer sounds wonderful. Enjoy the game today.

I'm going to feed the dogs and then get them outside for a walk.

Have a great day, everyone.

good morning - well I had this post mostly finished when my DH wanted to know something so I googled and LOL lost the post. Well my Devils won 5-1 over the Blue Jackets. It was fun to cheer with other fans. They have raffles and a pool for the first goal. I won for items from the raffle so that is pretty cool. I rarely win so this was pretty fun. Today is hockey and the Super Bowl. Hope to get some scrapping done.

Chris that book sounds very interesting. I am going to look into it. Glad the pantry has food for you.

Rae and Trudy wow that is a lot of snow.

Sharon looking forward to hearing how the ball went!

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies... well the trip got cancelled. We have so much more snow than you Rae. It was freezing rain last night too, Poor brother got even more snow than we did yesterday. (they always get twice as much as we do) So he said instead of risking our necks on the slippery roads this morning, they will head out to catch a much later ferry and just go to their hotel and not visit with our sister at all. Makes sense, he felt very bad for cancelling on me, but I told him it was no problem, I was kind of worried about the roads too! Keeping our fingers crossed that their flight to Hawaii is not cancelled or delayed tomorrow morning as we are supposed to get hit again tonight with more snow. Sheesh Snowmagedon!!!! This is the most snow we have had in years!! For this to happen in February is even more weird! :smow: we will be digging out our driveway again today
snoshovelf-smiley.gif

Chris - I am trying to think of what I will do while the super bowl is on also. Hopefully I can get into my e-book again and read while DH watches the game. Are you making any good snacks for this afternoon?? Some where over the past couple of days I picked up some kind of weird bug and I now have plugged ears, and a strange wheezing cough. I don't feel sick at all just a ticklish coughing stuffy feeling. :mmph: I was doing so well with not catching the flu and all the other sickness around me too, darn it!

Rae - This is not going to be the last of the snow for us, as we are forecast to get more as the week goes on and no real rain until next weekend. :gaah: enough with the snow already!! Sounds like you and the dogs had a great day yesterday! Sorry your hubs is hurting and hope that your aches and pains are not too bad today! We probably would have been ok to come over to the Mainland, but my brother has not done any real winter driving in years. They are usually in Australia this time of year and all winter long. So I don't blame him for being nervous about it. Then my DH would have had to come to Duke Point to pick me up and with more snow on the way tonight, I am glad he doesn't have to do the trip!

Nancy - I was so happy for you that your Devils had a great game yesterday and for you to win prizes too, what a bonus!! I know that you will be enjoying lots of sports today, too bad you and my DH couldn't get together for the super bowl LOL he would love to have someone to cheer with :becky:

Sharon - How fun to be going to a costume ball!! Let us know what you picked out from your stash of costumes!

Ok I am going to do some more scrapping today, my mojo has been pretty good lately so I will take advantage of it! I will help hubby shovel again today :mmph: and try to think of something yummy for supper tonight. I hope you all have a fab Sunday!! Go Falcons!! LOL I only say that because my son-in-law cheers for them.
