Yay for weekends! It is when I give myself some permission to be lazy. That is opposed to my weekdays when I am lazy but beat myself up over it.

Guess what!?!? I have good news from LLMD!! She said that I am doing well and no abx needed. I am going to stick with the herbal supplements and I don't need to see her for 6 months. She wants to retest my blood in 3 months so when Gary goes back in May, I will have that drawn. Gary also showed a small but positive sign of some improvement. Teeny tiny bit, but with Gary, we take everything we can get.
The sad and scary part of the appt didn't have anything to do with us, but another patient of hers. She got news that a patient had died right before we go there. He was making some supplement on his own, according to his sister who found him, that was supposed to break up biofilms that surround the bacteria in the blood. The office was devastated as he had been seeing her for a long time.
I understand where he was coming from, you want to try anything to get better. So many Drs who say there is nothing wrong with you and so little progress in the way of getting better even when you see a Lyme Literate Dr. It has taken me 11 years to get to the point where I am at now. Patients tend to take things into their own hands out of desperation. The internet can be a wonderful place for support but I have seen a lot of god-awful advice as well. Looks like he might have gotten mixed up in that.
I hope that his family is able to find peace.

Anyway-- today we might get above freezing temps- *fingers crossed* which will make it easier to take the dogs out which I need to do right now. W is grumbling at me.
Ignore typos until I can get back to fix them.

Do any of you have fun plans for the weekend?
Nothing happening here, I have to go to the food pantry today and clean my house. It gets so dusty this time of year.

Nancy- it is amazing how well you are doing! Good for you! I am with you waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer. 50* is going to feel like summer haha! (no it really won't but at least I won't feel horrible as much.) Luther will be very happy to be outside too.
When will you be cleared to drive and all that? Sorry that the team lost to the Rangers, that always has to hurt a bit more.
Caitlyn texted me from her class yesterday when they were reading my interview. She said that the class thought I was cute and pure. *snorts* I texted back "If they only knew!!" But yeah, my family time is cool *big grin*

Felis- I don't know how some of the people could even go outside in the areas that was much colder than me. Right now, it is 16* and I have been hearing a dog barking for a half hour-- why is a dog outside that long?
We finished that Mickey Puzzle and the one we are doing now is *much* easier.

Trudy- Happy birthday to you Gary! Can you tell us the gift yet????
Have a fantastic time with the family and tell him that your O-Fam is wishing him a happy b-day too.
Woo hoo on the garage door opener- too funny that you can play tricks with it :D

Rae- good luck with the taxes today. Any plan to stay on top of it for next year is a step in the right direction. Blech!!!!!!!!! Sorry but the dog treats sound GROSS!!!
I know dogs need to eat differently but ...

Speaking of eating differently, sad news abotuTimber the snake. Scott wasn't able to get him to eat and he passed away the other day. I am glad that he isn't suffering. Tube feeding would not really have been a viable option. Snakes don't like to be handled and to have to hold one "down" to feed it once a week... stressful on the snake.

The semi-humorous part of his passing is that Scott doesn't know what to do with Timber's body. The ground is frozen rock hard so burying him isn't an option. He feels it is very disrepectful to throw him out in the woods. So right now, he is in a paper bag in Scott's windowsill. Along with 2 small jars of jelly for PB&J crackers and a praying mantis egg case that need to stay dormant. Cait was busting him about that but she would keep baby food yogurt for her rats in her windowsill so she isn't one to talk LOL

Thanks for the book rec- I need to go to the library soon. I am almost done with Michelle Obama's book. I just *love* her!

Trudy- bet Mason was very happy to have Grandma all to himself this time :)

Kay- I hope that DD#1s stress test comes back perfectly. That stinks that you had to wait for the one Rx but at least you don't have to drive back another day.
Great news about the attorney helping with the paperwork as well as the rest of the successful errands. Hope that you were able to rest-- enjoy the family being with you today

xoxoxo!!!

I am up early - woke up before the alarm. The guys will be here around 8 to install the garage door opener. So I am up and dressed already. Usually hang around in my PJs for a few hours but not today. Hoping it warms up quickly as it is only 22 right now. Brrrr.... I will stay in the house while they change it out.

Got to get some of bills paid today. Meant to do it yesterday but got side-tracked and forgot until this morning. Will take them to the Post Office to make sure they go out today. While I am over there, I will drop off the library books and get some new ones. Like that the PO and library are right together.

I picked up some "Cuties" [mini mandarin oranges] yesterday. Came in a 5 lb bag for $3 - which is way too many for me to eat. So will be giving some to both DDs today. So glad to have fresh fruit again. Even bit the bullet and bought some red seedless grapes even tho the price was high. I am wanting a chicken salad and need the grapes for it.

Chris, glad you got a good report from your doctor. Nice that Gary is improving some, too. Hope your weather gets warmer, too.

Well, am off to get those bills paid. CYL

good morning - yesterday my pt did her measurements on how straight my knee is and how far my knee bends. She did the measurements the first day and today after a week of pt to see if I made any improvements. I am sure that she wants to see improvements well she did. In the straight leg I forget the numbers but she was pleased but on the knee bends it went from 65 to 85 and it only has to get to 90-95 so that made her happy and me too. I know it matters to do the exercises but I love seeing the numbers, the scientist in me lol. Our heating system is old and lately one of the pipes is forming leaks. For the most part my DH is great at plugging them and the systems works (steam heat radiators) but yesterday of course, the second coldest, it formed a new leak and I was frozen all afternoon. Luckily I have my space heater but I was cold. It is working today yea! But this summer we are going to have to have it really fixed. My Devils play the Canadiens this afternoon. My DH and I were to go on this trip so bummed but next year we can go on some hockey trips. My poor team is going through a tough stretch as 5 of my top players are out with injuries. That makes it so hard to win when I don't have my best players. The Devils just don't have the depth. But finally the off week for all teams are done and I now have the western teams playing again. So lots of hockey today! I go to see my doctor on Monday and he should clear me for outpatient the following week. But no driving for 6 weeks from surgery. Now that I am feeling better I need to get scrapping again.

Chris I am saw on the news today that Staten Island Chuck and Puxatany Phil ground hogs both did not see their shadows so we should have an early spring. I am happy about that. And next week temps near 60. Crazy So glad that your doctor gave you should positive news for you and Gary! Sorry about the snake's passing. Enjoy your lazy day!

Kay wow you had a busy day! Glad you are getting the garage door fixed before the next storm. Much nicer not have to clean off the car before you head out. My problem is that we have no garage and I find it hard to reach the top of my SUV and I hate it when driving and snow for the car in front blows onto my car. Must have been so fun to have lunch with daughter. You are lucky they are so near you. Hope the stress test results come out well. And wow you are up early!

Trudy have a great day celebrating with your MG. I am sure he will love his surprise gift. Tell him happy birthday!

Rae you are so organized hope the tax meeting goes well!

Felis I am not pushing myself too hard believe me. I do the exercises. Yesterday I was cold but I did not go up the stair by myself as I know I could do it but if I fell and no one here and after going through the surgery I did not chance it. I asked my pt would could I do and she said going out in the cold when the ground is slippery is a no no. I have no where I need to go so no problem. I was able to sell my Devils tickets for home games this coming week back to Devils.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... DH and I were up early, but I have been wasting time on Pinterest this morning. So I am a bit late getting in here LOL I could sit looking at things on Pinterest all day long! I have things to do this morning so I really need to get to the shower and get going with my day! Party will start shortly after lunch and I have a few last minutes things to do yet. DH has to run a few errands this morning so I will take that time to set the table and get the balloons put in place that I have hidden in the suite downstairs :becky: I will let you all know what his gift is after he opens it. I want to make sure he likes it first before I tell anyone. :sorry:

Chris - Enjoy your lazy day! I bet you won't be as lazy as you think though if you have to run to the FP and then
cleaning-smiley.gif
too. Sorry to hear that Scott's snake has passed, but I suppose it is for the best, no one likes to see any living thing suffer like that! Wonderful news from your Dr.!! So happy that you are both showing improvement! Hope the temps warm up even more for you, our temps will be dropping here as the Polar Vortex moves our way and away from you. Brrrr!!!! Not looking forward to that cold snap!

Kay- It will be so nice to have your garage door working again! Hope yours is as quiet as our new one!

Nancy - You are a rock star for doing all of your exercises!! WTG!! Your PT must be very pleased with your improvement! You will be climbing those stairs before you know it! I am so happy for you! :bliss: I will tell my Gary that you say Happy Birthday to him, he always asks how you are doing, he knows one day he will have to have the same surgery and it makes it less scary to know someone who is doing so well with the recovery! Sorry you had to miss the trip to Canada to watch your devils play against the Habs, but its far too cold to go anyway LOL. Glad that you were able to sell back your tickets to the Devils!

Rae - You really are the queen of organization! Hope that you have some time to relax and just enjoy the weekend! Hope Taz likes his new food, it sounds yucky to me, but then I am not a dog LOL.

Off to the shower and then get some breakfast for the two of us. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello girls,
I'm not a interesting company right now. If you ask me how I spent January I'll simply answer: "working". And this is my plan for February too. I use the vantages of the winter to can take additional work. Even for the evenings I don't have excitement plans, and prefer to collapse on sofa with dog and movie. This month is 'Oscar's movie month' and have four Oscars movies every evening, so I'm trying to catch as much as possible of them. I was watch some before, but on cinema they are with subtitles, till here are with dubbing language.
This year I'm decided to scrap for Valentine's Day, I have few ideas for pages and don't want to leaves this privilege only to the couples  .

Chris, awesome about your and Gary, improvement!
I'm so sorry about the another patient! As you said internet can be a wonderful place for support but it's awful for medical advice. The other point is that before to meet you I wasn't informed how dangerous Lyme is. When I'm discuss with people here who as us works with pets the popular opinion is that it is something that will be cured with two courses of antibiotics. It makes me wonder how many other dangerous are underestimated?!

Oh Chris, I'm so so sorry about Timber the snake! Condolences! Hug Scott strong! Poor boy! I'm disagree with your view point. For me most natural thing is to bring the snake body into the woods and left it in the roots of a tree when the nature will take it back, will be useful for the bugs and will become part of the earth. As it is happen into the wild nature :rip: . We always do that with the birds, victims of my cats crimes. I can understand why you want to have it burying as other pets, but in this weather looks like his fate is other.

Sorry, girls I'll come back with personals to the others later. I need to break up for a while!
OK, I'm back.

Kay, hope the guys come on time and the garage door opener installation to happen easy and will not waste your day! Great about the fruit shopping!

Nancy, you told me you not overload yourself, but I don't believe you., sorry ;D . I know how energetic person you are, and probably now you feels boring, but walk around the block lol . Sorry for the cancelled trip! Great that they're got the tickets back!

Trudy, happy birthday and best wishes to your Garry! You make us so curious about the gift. Haha, the simile at the toilet is really bonkers! You knows the best smileys! How's your eye?! Yes I'm happy to be back to normal here at hOme, even I'm look on this as Pyrrhic victory for me.

Rae, nice to hear that your husband is resolved the problem in communication with his boss. Hope the new system for mail sorting to works!

Been a very interesting day. DD#1 and her hubby were here at 8 AM. DD#3 and family arrived just before 9. Things were going great but... then the safety latch wouldn't engage with the lock so nothing would work. Grandson-in-law showed up with his friend at noon and realized what the problem was quickly. Finally got it all to work including remotes and outside touch pad before 1. We all headed out for lunch. So nice to spent time dining with the family. Temp was up to 61 but now is back down to 55. Sunshine and blue skies. Made me feel like spring was here. But... don't think it will last. Some of our worse snows have been in Feb and March so no telling what the next two months will be.

Came home to drop off DD#3 and hubby so they could get their car. Then I grabbed the library books and beat feet over to the Post Office and library. They take mail until 4:30 PM on Sat so the bill will go out tonight. Whew... Got a few books for the weekend. Also picked up a Friends of the Library book bag [$3] as they are having a 2 day book sale next Fri/Sat... all the books that will fit into a FoL bag for $5!!! Last time I came home with 33 books for $5! Got to make sure I put it on the calendar plus on my Reminder White board that is right by the kitchen table.

Yes, I love the new opener... so quiet when in use. Just have to get used to the smaller remote. And they were able to get the outside key pad programmed with the code... just in case. Still needs to tack up the wires to the ceiling [they hang down a few inches] then it is done.

Nancy, so glad you have made such good progress. Wise not to attempt stairs when you are alone. It shouldn't be long until that is okay... but take the time to make sure you can do it safely.

Trudy, glad your opener is quiet like mine. Sure makes it easier to keep the snow off the car/SUV when it is in the garage. Yep... have a mini-van and I can't reach the roof of mine without a step stool. Hate when snow comes off the roof and hits the windshield when driving.

Felis, glad you are getting caught up on some of the movies you want to see - especially if they are dubbed and not sub-titled. I do understand how that can be a challenge - we lived in Egypt and everything there was in Arabic with few subtitles. We watched a lot of DVDs instead. Have a good time binge-ing on your movies.

Chris, we had crossed posted this AM. Love that new puzzle you are working on. Looks challenging!

Blerghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Did you ever wake up angry? I had angry dreams all night and now I am in a cranky mood from them. It also didn't help that I spent much of the night trying to not be squeezed off the side of the bed by two dogs and a husband. The dogs have officially given up sleeping in a circle or by our feet. They sleep stretched out *on our pillows.* On the left, it is Jaida's brick of a head. Then Gary. Then Whisky. Then me-------> hanging on for dear life.
And you can't move them!!! None of them! Argh!! I tried to push W back at one point and she stretched out even more, hitting me in the face with her paws. Good thing that I love them so much. pfft.

My day seemed to fly by even though I didn't do much of anything. The FP was a success- I got most of everything I needed. I got a lot of time to play with the rats which makes me so happy. Cait lets them run around on her bed while she does her homework. They love to climb and scurry all around. Up one arm, down the other. Into a hood or sleeve and back out again.

I am going with Caitlyn to the vet this morning. Titania's stitches are causing an inflammation and lump where her incision was so the vet wants to take a peek at it and make sure it is ok. But 9 am on a Sunday? I am not sure who is crazier- him for being open at that time or us going up there... ;)

I hope that Scott is feeling better today. He ended up coming home from Leah's yesterday b/c he was throwing up all day. He wasn't even able to make it home, he called us to meet him as soon as he got off of the highway he was that sick. Poor guy.

I should wrap this up since we need to leave in a little bit. have a super day!

Kay- I hope that it warmed up by you too. How did the install go? We got up to 25* yesterday-
Hope that your errands went well and that you found some new, good books.

Nancy- good for you and that brand new knee!
I hope that your heat is doing better and is able to be fixed. I still have blankets covering my office window. It makes the room really dark but helps keep the wind down a bit.
6 weeks of no driving- yuck! Is it your right knee or left? I guess it is good that you did this in the winter so you don't have the urge to go out and about in nicer weather.

Trudy- how was the party!? Did your Gary like his gift? Do tell!!
Nope, my day wasn't all that lazy but you knew that already.

Felis- sorry that your winter is being spent working but you have to do what you have to do. Nice to snuggle on the sofa at the end of the day.

Kay- that stinks about the issue with the install, but you must have been happy that it was able to get worked out easily.
enjoy your books!

Happy Sunday morning ladies... we actually are pretty chilly here today and DH said there was a bit of snow falling when he woke up this morning. I slept in until almost 8am :bliss: Not snowing at the moment and hopefully we won't see any more the rest of the day! Well the Birthday Party was a big success! DH's sisters and Mom and Dad and one of his nephews and his girlfriend came for the afternoon. SIL Linda picked up Chinese Food and they all chipped in to pay for it. A few small gifts from everyone and then DH opened his gift from the kids and I. He was thrilled!!!! We got him an autographed, framed photo of Bobby Orr's winning goal against the Saint Louis Blues to win the Stanley Cup in 1970. It came beautifully framed and with Certificate of Authenticity and Holograms to show it was official. I think he is downstairs hanging it up in his den as I sit here LOL. We were so thrilled to see the look on his face when he opened it and he talked about it the whole night!! I just wish the kids would have been here to see it! They did facetime with him though, but its just not the same :pout: Today I need to get coupons sent out to the challenge winners from January and then I am going to start mixing my paints for my painting project. :washing: of course, that never seems to end. How can two people make so many dirty clothes ?? :noidea:

Chris - Happy for you that the FP trip was a big success!! Yes I have woken from angry dreams and stayed angry all day long!! Wonder what is going on in our heads when that happens?? Poor Scott, is it the flu? or did he get a stomach bug of some kind? Hope he is feeling well soon! Perhaps today will be a good day to just veg on the couch and have fun playing with the rats after the trip to the Vet. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Kay - Glad you got the install all done and a great time to have new books to read! Stay inside and keep warm!!

Felis - Too bad that you are so darn busy with work, but it will make the days fly by and hopefully you are enjoying your evenings catching up on the movies you want to see!

:hello: Nancy, Jean and Rae! I will pop in later today and see if you are here! Have a great Sunday everyone and keep warm!!

good day - it is early afternoon and I have done my exercises and eaten breakfast. LOL not much but relax. But My Devils did win they defeated the Canadiens 3-2 in OT. Nico Hischier scored both the game tying goal and the OT Game winning goal. Pretty happy as so many of the Devils on injured. Watching the Bruins play the Capitals - go Bruins for Trudy and especially her Gary. More hockey after this game but then it goes quiet as nothing can interfere with the Super Bowl game viewing. I will watch but must say that I am not that interested as the Patriots do nothing for me. The Rams I can cheer for but also I think it is pretty sad that they left St. Louis almost overnight to become a LA Rams. So sad for all those St Louis fans left behind. Woke this morning to hear birds singing and the sun shining and wow maybe spring is not too far way. Saw that it is only 34 days to daylight savings time.

Chris that sounds so fun for you and Cait to have the rats just playing free. Good luck at the vet. Hopefully it will just be some antibiotic cream or nothing. Wow that is so yucky with Scott and his throwing up - hoping not the flu! Your description of your sleeping with your dogs and DH was hysterical. I can see one dog but not both perhaps you should head to the couch.

Kay sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with daughter's and their hubbies. And you do not look old enough to have a grand son in law. Living in Egypt must have been quite an experience. Glad it is quiet and I would love to not have to clean off the top of my SUV. Enjoy reading! My son has me hooked on this series of books which he read and are based on a game he played in his youth War Hammer. The books are a crack up. The leader does not want to be the leader and tries to get out of sticky situations that always turn out making him the hero. He realizes this and as the books are written in the first person he even tells you that. I love that. I love that these are stories that my son reads as he is dyslexic and so if he is reading then I am glad to read so we can discuss them.

Trudy congrats on such an amazing gift! I am sure he will treasure this and he gets to look at it every day. Sounds like the party was a real hit! Love Chinese food in fact that is what we had on Friday night. I am cheering for Bruins! Note my Devils defeated the Canadiens for your Bruins. Have a great day today painting!

Felis believe me I am not overdoing it. I am beginning to believe that my son and DH are starting to get tired of my needing things. I explained to them when I had my meniscus surgery that no one really took it seriously and tried to help. I explained that I would be needing them for at least 6 weeks. That is now looking like a long time to them and it puts a crimp in their lives. But I think it is now dawning on them how much I do on my own LOL. Makes me smile!

Waving at all - have a great day!

Didn't have time to post this morning before leaving for church. What a joy to have the car in the garage where it belongs. :bliss:

The sun is out but still have some dark clouds hanging around. The wind is blowing so it seems a lot colder than 40* so was glad to get home.

Thanks, Nancy... my grandkids are in their late 30's and I have great-grandkids (in grade-school), too!!! I sometimes wonder the time has gone... as it seemed like just a few years ago when the grandkids were still little!!! Won't be long before the great-grands will as tall as I am!

Yes, living in Cairo, Egypt for 3 years was quite the experience. We got to travel in Europe, Africa, middle-east, far east and even made it to Australia. Glad we got to do all the traveling while we were there. We got to see most of our BUCKET LIST. LOL We returned back to the states just as Desert Storm war was starting [end of 1990].

If you like YA fiction - you might enjoy Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. I had read his two adult fictions books - "When The Wind Blows" and "The Lake House" which have similar characters/challenges. I am in the process of re-reading Kay Hooper's "Dark" series - Fear the Dark, Wait For The Dark, and Hold Back The Dark.

Trudy, what a wonderful gift for Gary. Sounds like he is really thrilled with it - and the fun birthday gathering. Don't mention laundry... mine needs to be done SOON!!! Hope you find time to get yours done, too.

Need to get the enchiladas sauce on soon. I need to let it cook for a couple of hours to bring out all the favor. I am hungry for my home-made enchiladas sauce so will have it for supper tonight. Then will be freezing the rest of it in single severing size to have later on. I have some guacamole [with hot sauce] already made. Sounds the best thing to have on a cold evening!!! Since I was born and raised in New Mexico, I love spicy Mexican food.
