good morning - just got back from taking Luther to the park. Had a good walk but he really does not like bikers. While there a whole flock of geese came and landed on the lake. You could hear them coming in and it was amazing how loud they are. I got up and watched the USA men's hockey team and wow the OAR team (Russian) was so good. Then today I have lots of hockey and the Devils play the Tampa Bay Lightning. They are the best in the east so it should be interesting. Then tonight we have a winter storm warning for maybe 6 inches. What is a crack up is it should be 68 degrees by Wed. So I guess the snow is not staying. Looking forward to some really warm weather. So I figured out my external CD reader and uploaded lots of my old photos. Some I had forgotten about so it was fun to see them. And it did not take as much time as I had thought. Also got a scrap page started and finished this am. So that is good.

Chris have fun with Cait and the kids. Always interesting to go through a dollar store!

Trudy thanks for sharing the photo of Storm with his doggie friends. I was talking to the staff at the Barker Lounge and they said that Luther really likes other Shepherds. He is also not the biggest LOL. He also likes to play with a great dane. Who knew. He came home hungry and tired. Hope your weekend is not too filled with chores. Hope your MG is doing much better. How did his knee MRIs turn out?

Rae hope your day was calm. Hope you can find a book or tv show to keep your mind occupied.

Felis my husband has students who celebrate Chinese New Year. They told him he should be eating dumplings. He was good with that LOL.

Jean hope you have a great meeting.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... it is :rain: this morning and the temps are still chilly and it sounds like we are in for even colder temps over the next few days. Artic air moving in bringing more freezing temps and some snow with it Ugh!! The poor trees won't know what to do as some are starting to get blossoms and new growth already. Its time for winter to be over with isn't it?? Today we wait yet again for the Telus repair guy, Yup our PVR box in the kitchen is doing the same crazy things as the last one, so obviously something else is terribly wrong with the set up there. Later this afternoon I am going for my facial at the spa and other than that not much is happening around here today.

Chris - Have a lovely time with Cait this morning! It will be great to just meander and check out all the goodies at the dollar store!

Nancy - When we lived in Saskatchewan we often would walk around a small lake nearby and the geese would come in by the hundreds! It was deafening!! Then in the evening we would hear them all leave as we were having supper and it was loud then too !! LOL Too funny that Luther likes to hang out with the big boys!! Storm sleeps for days after being at the Day Care "Lake Trail Animal Adventures" I was watching some of the video from this and she does up to 12 Kilometre walks with many dogs, don't know who she handles that many :becky: DH's MRI was a bit of a surprise as the most damage was not in the knee that gives him the most pain, he does have a torn ligament and some other issues, but will have to see a specialist to find out just how bad it is and what treatment is available for him. So another waiting game to get the appointment for that. :mmph: He is however all better from whatever it was that was ailing him, flu?? Weird virus?? I am just glad that he did not spread it to me LOL!! I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend and hooray for the nice warm temps on the way, the snow will melt quickly!

I need me some coffee and then I should put in some :washing: BTW I am loving my new washer and dryer!! Everything is done so much faster now! Have a great weekend everyone I will pop in later in the day!

Good morning, ladies. I had a nice quiet evening. Jen came by for a visit and then we relaxed, watching a few shows. We went to bed early. It seems like most nights I am ready for bed by 10:30. I'm getting up a bit earlier in the morning too. I relaxed in my chair as D sat in the kitchen, reading his paper and doing a crossword. I snuggled up with a comfy afghan, my ereader and a coffee. It was so quiet and peaceful, looking out at the snow (a few more inches fell last night). It's slushy wet snow now. It should stop soon though b/c the forecast is for sunshine tomorrow so it will all melt.

I've got some tax work to do today and will be heading out for errands in a bit and getting my hair trimmed. I'm enjoying the shorter style, so much easier to take care of.

Jen and I will be heading out at 7:30 tomorrow morning for Bellingham (hope to beat the traffic at the border). Looking forward to checking out the consignment stores and then getting groceries at Fred Meyers and Trader Joes. We won't buy too much in case they decide to charge us duty at the border coming back. I ordered blueberry larabars which are being delivered today. Can't wait to try them. I'm addicted to larabars :)

Chris - hope you find some good deals in the dollar store. Have fun.

Trudy - ugh....more PVR problems. Weird. Hope they figure it out.

Nancy - sounds like a fun day for you with all the sports. Enjoy it!

I'm getting out of here to go get some chores done. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning girls,
It's an early morning of Sunday here and I hurry to catch all I'm missed previous days. Weather was so nice, so I wanted to stay out as much as possible, before rain to come back.
I noticed that between Orthodox and other Christians have a big differences or maybe because my land is old and we are incorporated many pagan rituals, but our holidays don't match with yours. Today here is hollyday, last day before Christian Fasting (only vegan food) and also today have to ask for forgiveness for all conscious or unconscious insults.
So if sometime I'm said or done something rude or nasty to you, please forgive me!
We don't go to the outsides 'camp' fire, because this is old tradition which is not eco friendly. But will have a family and food.

Ok and now personals I have to go two days back:

Trudy, OMG, I love so much this photos from the Doggie Day Care that you post at Friday! Thanks for sharing! They all are so sweet and see how clever is Stormy, she looks directly at the camera. Oh, I realy wish I coud have three dogs, it woud be so much more fun! Hope you had a good time in the spa and Heather great bday. Best wishes to her! Probably it's difficult to not be together for her special day, but at least you talk every day which still is something :) . Oh this for your PVR box is frustrating. Ouch, sounds like your husband condition is very painful, hope soon to can visit this specialist!

Nancy, the scene with geese sounds so pretty! Did you make some pics or Luther don't allow you?! I knowed that these old CDs are little treasure! What exactly these T-shirts looks like?! Are they with the team logo or so?! Great that you had fun watching all these sports right now! Grigor Dimitrov will meet Roger Federer in Rotterdam final. Will be interesting game, but I don't think Dimitrov is recovery enough for this.

Jean, I'm sure you have much fun with these new German church records! I hope that the gray days are over and you have sun too!

Rae, how nice that you have plans with Jen! Hope this will distract her from bad thinkings! Would be so nice if you both can ignore all happens and stay concentrate into the moment just for a little!

Chris, hope you found something interesting at the dollar store! Aww poor J, sound like visits to the vet is been very stressful for her. Yep, I'm so tired from the muddy too!

Have a sunny weather and lovely day you all!

Hello and happy Sunday! I never did make it back here but here I am today.

Cait and I had fun yesterday. The kids that she babysits for are 10 and 11 and are little chatterboxes. I don't know how she does it, it made my head swim a bit. We got to the meeting place early so we wandered around the pet store a bit. They only had a few small animals but it was somewhere we could stay warm. The sun was deceiving, it looked much warmer than it was.
After we left the kids with their g-parents, we went to the DOllar store and then the Farmers Market where I got some acorn squash to make into soup for dinner. The weather got very cold and cloudy and you could tell it was going to snow. That also seems to kick in my hibernation mode- I needed to cook cozy food. I made some caramel apple bars, acorn squash bisque and (frozen) pumpkin ravioli.

I am bummed about the lack of TV shows while the Olympics is on. We have had nothing to watch in over a week (poor me!! ) so we are watching Deadwood on Amazon. It is good but a lot of cussing. A lot.

I also watched the speech by Emma Gonzalez about the FL Shooting. You can find it on CNN I think, I saw it on BBC.com So damn powerful, heartbreaking but strong. I have hopes that these kids will make a difference because they are *not* backing down against the violence and platitudes. Some of them are 18 and can/will vote and it seems like the younger ones are speaking out are mobilizing others until they can in a few years.
Student organizations are planning nationwide walkouts and marches. If my kids were still in HS I would be telling them to do it, walk out and be damned with the consequences. I would rather have the school suspend them then have them be vulnerable to this never-ending violence. Heck, I supported them when they protested a ridiculous attendance policy. They both got "Super-Detentions" for it but I taped the notices to my fridge I was so proud that they stood up for a small injustice. I am so proud of these kids who are doing so much more than that, they are really putting targets on themselves and some Social Media hasn't been very "polite."

Gosh, get me off of my soapbox!

So today- I am going to get ready for the week and shovel the driveway and then-- maybe I can do some scrapping.

Hoping everyone has a truly wonderful and peaceful day.

Morning everyone, dam it it is :smow: today!! Woke up to the white stuff and its coming down like crazy!! They had forecasted this but we really did not think that we would get it here :mmph: Oh well one more blast of winter I guess. We were supposed to meet my brother and SIL and the Auzzies at the swimming pool and take Frankie and Lottie for a swim in the lazy river etc. but I doubt they will travel with the weather like it is. Anyway not much happening around here today. Washing the towels and sheets today and making some devilled eggs for snacks for me, hope to start a page that I have been meaning to get going on. Oh and yesterday they spent 3 hours here replacing and reinstalling all of our telus equipment, so it better be all fixed now!! However I am questioning the way that they hooked my computer up as it seems to be running very slowly and keeps dropping off the the internet. So I am saving this post in case it is lost this morning. I need my coffee so I will come back and do personals in a bit.

good day - very late in getting here but had such a fun morning. We took Luther to the park and it was so fun. It was a winter wonderland. We had probably 5 inches of snow, the kind that sticks to the trees. So beautiful. But the sun is shining and blue skies with snow love it. Luther of course was in heaven running around. We went to Nomehegan and there were not many people so that was fun. There are two ponds and there were some geese making noise of course but Luther was not too interested. But when we were in the forest there were some on a small creek and those I think he would have chased but my DH held him back. And I am still smiling as my team has won 3 straight games. Last night they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3. It was a great game. My rookie Nico Hischier scored a goal in his 3 straight game. To defeat the top team in the eastern conference is pretty good. Now today they play again at 5pm against the Carolina Hurricanes. I hope they realize that while last night was a great win they need to win today if they want to prove they belong in the play offs. The Flyers are also playing the Rangers today and for once I will cheer for the Rangers as I don't want the Flyers to earn more points. If they lose and my Devils win my team moves into 3rd spot in the Metropolitan division. Otherwise just scrap. I scrapped several hockey pages yesterday and that felt good. On a serious note - at the Chicago Blackhawks vs the Washington Capitals game several fans were racially taunting a Capital player who was in the penalty box. The Blackhawks security came over and removed them from the game. That was good but seriously what are fans people thinking.

Chris what a fun day and how nice to make such a warm dinner. We had grilled cheese. I love grilled cheese. Speaking of baby-sitting my son and DIL baby sat a 6 month old for a few hours so the parents could go out to dinner. They said the baby had an atomic meltdown when she realized these were not her parents. But they calmed her down and then she was fine. But they were shocked how long it seemed when she was crying and how fast time went when she was happy or sleeping. Neither one of them have ever been around babies so this is pretty funny to think about. And yes this next generation is not going to be listening to the NRA - they will be a force. And I will support them. Hope the shoveling was easy!

Felis so so glad you have been having such a fun time with the holidays. Not surprising the holidays don't match and yes probably because we are not as old as your country. The t-shirst are just black with red lettering. No logo as that would probably have to be agreed to by the NHL and they are very picking and they charge a lot. Have fun with your family!

Trudy what happened to the Bruins last night? I was going to stay up late and watch but they were not doing so well so went to sleep. At least I helped your team by defeating the Lightning. Sorry about the snow messing up your plans to go swimming. That does not sound good for your MG to have a torn ligament but it sure does seem like a reason for pain. Glad he will have a follow up to determine the next course of action.

Jean I keep hearing on my local sports news that spring training is in full swing. More news about signings and free agents not being signed. I feel like spring is on the way as probably my Wed we may hit 70 degrees.

Have a great day all!

It snowed some last night, just a light coating, but warmed up today so snow's all gone! Went to the library and grocery and watched some Olympics. Yesterday's meeting was good as always. Hopefully my portions were of help to others.

Chris, so hope the students in FL can really make a difference. The non-action after Sandy Hook on the federal level was beyond belief. And social media trolls are like a disease that is so awful and just grows. Sounds like a nice time yesterday with Cait and yummy food. Sorry you're missing TV shows, but we're watching lots of Olympics and enjoying it.

Felis, hope Sunday turned out nice even if it rained. We even have another different "holiday" here as Monday is President's Day in the US. It started as Washington's Birthday but now is broader in scope but not observed by all here.

Trudy, sorry the snow may have cancelled those plans. However that turned out, hope your Sunday went well and the darn telus stuff really is working.

Nancy, how did you get so much snow in NJ? At least it will be gone soon and we can enjoy some really spring like weather now, at least for a while. Hope the Devils make it 4 in a row! They've had some good runs this season and exciting games. Having baseball in the news is always good for my spirits! It was fun at the grocery to have a coach and a few players selling items and collecting money for our high school baseball team. I put a little in the collection and wished them a good spring training.

Rae, hope you had a good weekend and kept your and Jen's spirits up.

Well so much for popping in for personals LOL! It has been an afternoon of cleaning, :washing: and scrubbing toilets :bliss: NOT!! DH and I sat down and watched a movie, it was not very good, but passed the time away as the wind blew outside and the temps dropped! Now the sky is sunny and it will be very cold tonight, I have to remember to bring in the hummingbird feeder. Putting a pork roast in the oven for supper right away.

Nancy - What a disaster of a hockey game last night!! It was an embarrassment for sure! My son however was thrilled as he is a Canuck fan (where did we go wrong) :becky: Glad that your Devils at least had a win and benefited our Bruins too! Saw your page about the loss to the Bruins, it is another amazing page! Hope your Sunday was a great one!

Jean - Nice that you are able to do your part to help out others at your meetings! Did the sun come out and help melt all that snow for you? DH and I have been enjoying the Olympics also, too bad that Chris is not enjoying it as much as we are though! Ok I better get the veggies ready for supper. Have a great evening everyone!
