It is Saturday (yup, I double checked) and the house is quiet. I was able to sleep until 6 am, nice!

I peeled all of the tape off of the trim, put the table and chairs back in the DR and dang it looks good. Please hold me back if (when... :( ) Floyd pees on the wall. I know it is inevitable but he makes me so angry. He is very lucky that I am such a softie when it comes to animals or he would have been brought to the shelter a long time ago.

Today I have no real plans. I did say that it was my day to collapse so I might try and do that gently later on. My back is spasming so I shouldn't do too much at any rate.

I do need to make up the list of stuff that will need to get worked on over the next few days and my kitchen needs a bit of help. Caitlyn made Mickey waffles for dinner last night and the batter always explodes out of the waffle iron. She puts a plate underneath it which helps a bit, but the iron itself is a mess.

Have a wonderful, fun, and relaxing weekend!

Nancy- I am laughing at Luther and your DH too. The whole story is funny, especially at the part when DH ended up using the correct collar.
So glad you liked the first Kopp Sisters book. While I was reading that one, I didn't know that it was based on true stories/people until I read the author's notes at the end. That made it even better.

Trudy- whew!!! What a relief that your heat pump is working. :high5: to your DH! It really is such a strange winter for everyone -- and summer in AU too. More heat waves for them and up in the Artic. Not good :(
Hope that your cough goes away soon and that start feeling better. I don't blame you at all for worrying about Heather. But she has a great example in you as a mom and will raise her kids the way you raised yours. How is she feeling, morning sickness all better yet?

Rae- good luck with the new diet. I hope that you are able to figure something out to make you feel better and lose weight at the same time. it is miserable feeling sluggish and foggy all of the time. Coffee is good, but not the answer as much as I would like it to be. :cof3:

Sharon- isn't it crazy how attached to tv, computers, and the internet we are? All of a sudden we feel so cut off. My old girl is scared of loud noises too and the beeping that goes on when we have a power failure makes her shake nonstop. Hope your pup was ok once it stopped. hehe at the big Dobie with mommy issues. She must be amush:pupkiss:
fingers crossed for the job for DD!

hugs!

Morning ladies... the sun is shining and we are hoping that much more melting of the snow will happen today! DH might actually be able to get his truck out of the snow pile today! I am glad that I will have my CRV back this coming week, that is as long as there are no more snow storms in the future!! (fingers crossed!) Today we are doing major grocery shopping the cupboards and fridge are bare. Other than that the usual, a bit of house cleaning, :washing: and puttering around. I need to hit the farmers market today also to get some more soap from Sarah's Soap Garden. Still very Phlegmy and coughing, but I think it is starting to get better. I am hoping that being outside for a bit today will loosen everything up and hopefully stop all this wheezing!! Ugh! I haven't heard a word from my son since he left, I am hoping all is ok and he is just too busy to talk to his mom. I will have to txt his wife to see if he has been in contact with them (I am sure he has!)

Chris - Ouch on the spasms in your back! Yes take it easy today!! I am so glad that you are loving your new paint colour! Your darn cat had better not pee on that wall!!! I wonder why he does that?? He is lucky that you are such a softy!!

Nancy - Hope you and Luther are able to get in a nice walk today and that your sidewalks are all cleared of ice and snow!

Rae - It is funny that you mentioned that Keto Diet!! I was telling my DD the same thing about not being able to take off more than the 3-4 lbs that I have and she suggested that I try this diet. I am looking into it hopefully today or tomorrow and will give it a go. It can't hurt, right?? I am sorry that your knees and back are hurting! I find that mine do the same when I was walking everyday, I know its good for you but it can be horrible for the joints when the weather is damp and you are walking on the pavement/sidewalks especially. I don't seem to be bothered by it when I do my hiking though.

Sharon - Ugh on the blown transformer!! We really are dependent on our electricity aren't we!! I keep telling DH that we should consider getting a generator, but our power hardly ever goes out, we have mostly underground power lines here in our our neighbourhood, but it is not the case everywhere in the valley. MIL and FIL were without power for 48 hours, of course they never told us. But they have a gas stove and wood burning fireplace and a generator so they are totally ok.

Well I better get something going for breakfast, no eggs left in the house so it might have to be pancakes (mix from Costco needs no eggs) Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! I hope you get to do something fun today!

good afternoon - had a really fun morning. My DH and took Luther to a local park. OMgosh there were lots of people walking, jogging and of course dogs. Luther was so happy! He met a cute golden lab and he and Jackson played and ran and played. Now Luther is down for the count. The weather was perfect. Just above freezing, no wind and cloudy. I took so many photos it was crazy. Now to get to scrapping them. Most of the ice is off the roads and side walks so all is good that way. Yesterday my son's dogs did well. Their female dog is a miniature Australian shepherd and she is smart. Lorrie says she is perfect in training and she loves to show off so let her work and show off. The male though he is different. When he makes a mistake he gets all panicked and loses his focus. Men LOL. But she says he knows it all just work him in shorted segments. I love how she picks up on the differences of the dogs. My son came home and said that two people from his group were let go. That is sad but my son will now take on some new responsibilities so it turns out that is really good for him. But he says the one guy just never answered the emails so it is really his own fault. Still sad. And my car made me angry. I have a sun roof which I never use well all the snow on top melted in the sun and then when I went to pick up the dogs there was water leaking on to the front seats. My son said not dangerous but when he does the oil change etc he will take a look. It is always something.

Chris so glad the DR looks and feels so new! And that cat had better behave! Rest the back - nothing worse than back pain.

Trudy nice to have a MG who can do minor fixes. Glad that the heat pump is fixed and you are toasty warm. Sorry about the coughing! I think being outside and moving does help. I am getting 1 am hockey games so you should be getting the Bruins early game!

Rae looking forward to hearing how the new diet works. I keep thinking NutriSystem or some other system that delivers food to me would be my best option since cooking is does not make me happy.

Sharon so sorry about the loss of power! It is the pits. I now have some batteries that are capable of recharging my electronics and I have a solar battery that charges that battery. After being without power for 12 days after a hurricane I am always super prepared. LOL.

Have a great day all!

Hi all...weather in the high 70's and humid...I am going to have to turn on the air just to get the humidity out of the air. Ugh.

Didn't accomplish much today. DD and DH are on their way home so I put a roast in the slow cooker, then my other DD talked about going out to celebrate DH's raise...not sure what we are doing.

Chris- glad the painting looks good.
Rae-good luck on the diet.
nancy- i am sure Luther had a great time!

Good afternoon, ladies. I enjoyed a quiet lazy morning with my hubs. He's on call this wkend so it was nice to spend a bit of time with him this morning as he'll probably be gone quite a bit over the next 3 days. I spent most of last night reading a ketogenic diet book. I"ve gone low carb before but this is a bit different in that it focuses more on lots of healthy fats but lower protein than Atkins. I tried WW and practicing balance with fats/carbs/protein but it's not working. So, for me, keto might work. This morning I tried my first bulletproof coffee. I was skeptical b/c I can't drink coffee without cream (yuck) but thought I'd try it b/c it would be a perfect morning drink with healthy fats in it, no dairy, sugar or additives and is a meal replacement which is good too b/c I am not a morning eater. So I made it (has grassfed butter and coconut oil in it) and love it.
This wkend I have lots of work as the other girl has fallen behind and the boss asked if I would like all the extra work. Sure. More money is good and I can work at it anytime over the next 3-4 days.

Chris - spasms are not good. Make sure you rest.
Trudy - chat with me on FB if you have any question about keto.
Sharon - I know I've said it before but that that trainer sounds awesome!

Gotta go, ladies. I'm off to the store to look for a spiralizer or shredder for making my own coleslaw.

Have a great day, everyone.

g'morning my dear O-zies. How are you all today? I am going to try and not complain too much but between the moon, the weather changes, and all the rest I am feeling quite yucky.

Right now we are getting buckets of sleet and snow coming down. I was supposed to be meeting BFF for coffee to catch up with life this morning but I am not going to be able to make it out of town so we have to reschedule. :(
There were so many things I wanted to hear about. My niece was invited into a sorority, my nephew got an internship for a candidate for governor. And of course, I want to hear how her dad is doing in the rehab center. I will have to hear it when I see in her in a few weeks.

BFFATS asked the other day to meet for coffee so now that my plans with BFF fell through. I might try to head over there later on.

Other than that, I don't have much else going on. I am working on a LO for the Feb 52 Inspirations Challenge and I fighting with it. I hate when that happens. So I closed it out yesterday and will try again today.

Please tell me that your days are a little bit more fulfilling than mine is LOL

xoxo

Trudy- send some of that sunshine here, please! We had sunshine here for a while yesterday and it got over 40* so some of the snow melted. But here we go again. ugh... I hope that you get DH's truck shoveled out so you can have your car back. How did your food shopping go? I have to go tomorrow and I am not looking fwd to it. (Yeah, I know- what else is new?)

What is a keto diet?

Nancy- how fun for Luther to play like that at the park. Jaida was so damn happy to be out in the snow again yesterday, just running like a mad woman. Not surprised that your DS's AU Shepard is doing so well, they are supposed to be really smart dogs and are bred to enjoy working.
That stinks about the sun roof. Mine does that too but on and off and I can never tell what triggers it. For a few years I had to park in my driveway back end in so when it rained it would roll of the back. If I parked head down, it would leak.

Sharon, you're killin' me here! 70*??? So jealous of that even if my hair would frizz in a split second.:D
My friend shared of photo on my FB wall of the shore and just seeing the waves and sand... *sighs*

Rae- What is a bulletproof coffee besides black? Anything else special? Good luck on finding a spiralizer too. Are there Salad Shooters for sale any more? Mine is ancient but I use it all of the time. Makes perfect shredded cabbage for cole slaw. Now I want that! mmm!

TTYS!!!::grouphug

good morning - yesterday was so fun. Now today it is raining but Chris nothing like what you are having - thank goodness. Got Luther out in the evening too and what a pretty sunset we had. Watched a lot of hockey and the best was seeing the Coyotes defeat the Penguins in OT! Today my team is back in action. They are playing the Sharks early and my DIL made reservations for lunch at the Rock's restaurant. How great is that! But the Sharks have lost 4 in a row and my team has been on vacation and so I am expecting the Sharks to be angry and beat up on my team. But glad to be back at the Rock.

Chris sorry you are missing you date with your friend because of the weather - it is the pits! At least this rain by me is getting rid of the snow. Have fun at coffee if you go!

Trudy hope you MGs car is shoveled out. Having your car is the best! Always fun when the cupboard is filled.

Rae that bullet? coffee sounds really weird but maybe the coconut oil gave it some sweetness. I love breakfast so I always tease my sister as she does not eat in the morning either unless she goes to IHOP for breakfast.

Sharon your weather is something I am waiting for this spring!

Have a great day all!

Good afternoon ladies. I am moving sloooow today. Yesterday was such a wonderful day (mostly). A friend and I went to the Biltmore Estate and it was beautiful. The outdoor gardens (thousands of tulips) were just peeking their heads above ground which I'm afraid will be damaged on the next freeze. We always have a last freeze in March or April. The Conservatory was absolutely filled with gorgeousness. There are so many varieties of orchids and cacti. Who knew there were hairy ones, ones with teeth and chocolate ones? haha The mansion tour was absolutely gorgeous. The extensive live floral arrangements, the vintage clothing they now have on display, and of course all the loveliness of opulence. :) They now allow you to photograph inside so I was able to get tons of great photos. (I hope, since it was first time I'd used my new phone camera.) I am about to plow thru hundreds of photos. :) The weather was absolutely perfect. I found a new porcelain doll, named Becka, that came home with me. I'm sure you'll see her soon, in a layout. As we were leaving the Inn I actually fell down two steps. I have no idea how I did that but leave it to me...baby grace. Both knees and my right hand are bruised and terribly scraped. Of course I would have to fall on rugged bricks, not smooth concrete. My right ankle is all black and blue this morning and stiff. I'm trying to walk it off only very slowly. haha Over all, though, it was a grand day.

Chris, I'm sorry about your cold wintry weather. My sweetheart said it was -23 where he is today so maybe that will help you feel a little warmer. :)

Nancy, I hope your team wins!!

Here's to everyone having a great Sunday!

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday flew by and I didn't even get a chance to get some desk work done so today and tomorrow I will limit my computer/internet time so I can get lots of work done. I also need to get a bit of housecleaning done and so some meal planning. I need to fit in some more reading too of the keto plan. It's not for the faint of heart. Restricting carbs so severely is not easy and requires determination but the good thing is that I am not craving food. That is the main reason I am willing to give this a go. The more carbs I eat the more I crave them and I am always hungry and cranky about food. So the fact that I am not craving food is wonderful.

Chris - a bulletproof coffee is a bit of butter (preferably organic grassfed) and coconut oil with no dairy added. I compare the elimination of most carbs to quitting smoking. While a smoker, I craved and needed a cigarette often (I was a pack a day or more) but once I quit I lost the craving and have never cared about it since. I am feeling the same with the carbs. Since I have cut out most carbs except for veggie/fruit carbs, I am not even caring about them. The fat is keeping me full and satisfied that it curbs my hunger cravings.

Hope you get to hang out with your BFF soon. BTW...I got a T-Fal salad chopper which looks almost identical to your salad shooter. I'll be making coleslaw with brussels sprouts, green and purple cabbage and zucchini today.

Nancy - funny you said your sister doesn't eat breakfast unless going to ihop. That's like us too. We have an ihop just a few blocks away.

Sharon - jealous of your warm weather. I'm done with winter here now.

Danesa - so sorry to hear of your fall. Sounds painful.

Trudy - hope you had a more productive day than I yesterday. Did you get your groceries? I only got part of my errands done and will be back out there later. Happy to see the sun shining today. We need the rest of the ugly dirty snow to melt now.

I'm going to get to work now for a few hours. At least it'll make for a nice bump in my paycheque with this overtime work. Have a great day, everyone.
