GoooOd morning from very cold NJ. The temps dropped and the wind picked up like mad yesterday. I couldn't get warm all day long.
I know you all must be wondering how we made out yesterday and it was kind of a mixed bag. We definitely didn't have the turnout we would have liked. A bunch of Cait's friends was going to come and most of them had work schedule changes. Same with Scott. But Gary did amazing- his wine bottle holders sold out completely and he got an order for another one from a friend who also has Lyme and understands how it might take a long time to get finished. Scott sold a bunch of his hot sauce and what he has left over, he can sell at school. (Silly side note: Caitlyn was telling us a story of how the other day at school a kid came up to Scott, asked if he had "any of the stuff," Scott says, "yeah, right here," they pass money for the bottle. The security guard comes over and says that if he didn't know that they were talking about hot sauce, he would have to do some questioning of them
)
Cait sold a few of her photos but would have sold more if I hadn't had to talk my mom out of buying 2 of them. We had picked out a deer and a butterfly for my parents as Christmas gifts and had them printed 8x10 months ago when Walgreen's has some freebies. We picked well because those were the 2 my mom has wanted. heh!!!
I did ok- much better than if I had been at a craft show and by 2.30 pm I was in my pjs.:sleep: What I have leftover will be used for gift basket orders, and for stocking stuffers.
All in all, I would say it was decent. My house is really clean so I don't have to worry about doing anything crazy for Christmas day. Baskets are under control. Now I just have to think about baking/shopping/wrapping. :fear:
A bit more good news too. My IL's came up and my FIL checked out the lens on my camera. It is actually still being sold by Canon so he thinks that he will be able to ship it to them to be repaired. It is a $500 lens and worth getting fixed if it can be. The zoom lens is working but I need to have a 100% fresh battery. My batteries are as old as the camera so we think that if I get a new battery, it will shoot continuously again. I would be able to get 1-2 shots then it would freeze. Maybe in a month I will be camera-ready again!!!
Today, I have to pack my stuff away and set the house back to the usual chaos. We have the schedule set that we will get our tree on Thursday and who knows, maybe Caitlyn and I can start baking this weekend. I know that Caitlyn misses Brendan being here, but it is nice to have the media room back. We ordered pizza and watched Elf last night up there on the projector. (SHM- the things that we-- and I mean *Gary* -- would not have bought had we known pre-Lyme what life would be like now *wry smile* ). That was a lot of fun to be able to do that will all of us.
So that is that. Hope that all of you had a super day yesterday and an even better one today!
xoxoxoxo!
