All I wanted for Christmas was to be done and over and in my pj's all day on the 26th. (Not really, but you know I have a flair for drama :drama: )
Did I get that?

No, of course not!

To add to the insane medical issues of my life, I was able to get in to the eye dr, who looked at the little specks, tried to scrape them out with no luck and had absolutely no clue what they are. She called in the other optometrist, who took a look and also had no clue. They have never seen anything like it. I know. Only me. *eye roll*
She wants me to get them biopsied, not that she thinks it is anything "bad" (said it doesn't look anything like a melanoma- so there is that LOL), but that she doesn't know what it is.
The dr that she wants me to see is not in my plan so now I am trying to research some of the drs who are in my plan. In the meantime, I am also trying to find an oral surgeon for Scott's wisdom teeth, and then the hospital calls for my pre-op testing (more fasting blood work ahhh!).

But hopefully today I can kick back and relax a bit. That is unless my parents bring back Scott's car today. My dad brought Scott's car into the dealership yesterday, it needed new engine mounts, and something was up with the distributor cap. He gets the call that the car is ready, gets in the car, wanted to get back out to get the antenna up, and there is NO DOOR HANDLE!!!!!!
He has to climb over to the passenger seat to get out and went back into the service center to say WTH??? The mechanic broke the handle off but "forgot" to say anything about it. He was out to lunch, the broken handle was on the desk, but there is no new handle in the shop. He has to bring the car back down today and then they can replace the handle.

If the Iantosca/Campbells didn't have kooky luck, we would have no luck at all.

DONE!! Done like and over-cooked turkey. DONE!
th

So that is my normal nutty day. There ya have it. Faery is out of her mind.
(Again, I say, this is why I drink wine from a BOX!!!!!)

Favorite gift from this past Christmas?
Sentimental- my sketch of Harley. Practical- my new printer from my IL's. My old one was making me crazy when I was trying to print my Christmas gifts, It would randomly choose what colors it thought would look nice even though they were nothing what I had picked.

Hope that all of you have a wonderful day.
xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday's Ooos!

Phyllis- glad that you made it through ok! Ugh about the nephew and wife trying to stir up drama. ha!! Pot (Faery) meet Kettle (Kooky Nephew). Although I don't *try* to stir up drama, it somehow manages to find me every time.
OMG! To have a pipe burst is bad enough but on Christmas? I hope there was not too much water damage.
Oh yes, lots of tears from the sketches but happy-ish ones. It still hurts of course, but we are all able to talk about our fur-babies with less and less pain. Too finny about the flowers for 6 months! What a great gift from DD. Maybe your DH will get the hint and finish the year with more?
DH is home for a week? I will be happy to share my Box o' Wine with you:)

Shar- I like the way you celebrated Christmas Day :)
And what a FAB gift!!!!! Enjoy your shOpping!!!
Hope that your day was wonderful- I love getting kitty and puppy snuggles.

Laurie- Oh no! That cough must be making you crazy! You have been to the dr, right? It's not bronchitis or pneumonia??
Let me know how you do with the decluttering and feng shui. I am thinking that after I get cleaned up from the holidays, I need to work on clearing some of the gunky energy that I know has to be building in here.

Nancy- OMG! I saw the headlines that the Devils coach got fired! And immediately thought you you, go figure *wink* How do you feel about this? I hope that it is a good move for the team.
You must be so happy for your DS.

Sara-
Today, we stayed in our pajamas and watched a movie, then ran out and got groceries and more movies.
Can I say **jealous**???? :D
How sweet of Ben to get a hamster! Hood luck with him/her!
I heard something NY Library releasing research request cards from the 20's, 30's, 40's and wanted to see if I could find the info online and share it with you. I'll see if I can dig it up and post back.

Enjoy your weekend my darling O-zies!

good morning - today just does not seem like a Saturday. NHL hockey is back today but yesterday was fun as the USA defeated Finland in a SO in the World Juniors. It was the first game and Finland is the returning champions. It was a tough game as both teams looked nervous to begin with. Had a good walk with my girlfriend and the weather was awesome - mid 50s. The stove was finally delivered to my son's yesterday so to celebrate they called and invited us to go out to dinner. I laughed. I thought when they wanted to celebrate that meant they were going to try out their new stove but no they wanted to go out. They wanted Indian food and I love Indian food. It was yummy! Went to bed early. Today I will walk again. Tomorrow I will be out early on the Christmas Bird count.

Chris you do have kooky luck. The mechanic who broke the door handle and then did not say anything that is shameful. Hope it is fixed soon. And hope they figure out your eye problem soon.

Glad to hear that everyone's holidays went well. Have a great Saturday!

Morning O fam! Chris when I went into work on Tuesday I called my doc and asked her if she would order a chest X-ray for me. I have had pneumonia twice in my past and did not want to travel with it. She did and called me back and told me it was clear no pneumonia, no tumors- umm I hadn't thought about a tumor. I am slowly getting better. Having an asthma diagnosis makes any respiratory illness worse. I actually was excited because I was able to blow out in the green zone on my peak flow meter without using my rescue inhaler!! It was mid yellow/caution zone with inhaler last week. I have changed how my desk faces in my kitchen- towards the garage door where we enter and able to see people coming in from the front door. I looked out the window a bit ago and saw a rainbow!! I am thinking the desk move was a good thing. I am okay with being home (although a did get a txt about dophins- sigh) I can work on clearing clutter- must be getting close to a big issue as I have been eating the goodies non stop- me home alone with goodies and pitty party- not good. Today I am going to walk 3 miles while reading my clutter books- may take a while, but it is a start, or I may go outside and walk= even better idea. Love you guys!!

Just flying by right now...but does anyone know when Anna will be re-releasing those papers that were discussed in one of her challenges this month (MonoBlendz Paperie_Origins2)? I want to save some of my gift mOney so I can get thOse!

Had some GREAT kitty snuggles from Dibs last night. She is an outdoor cat (family allergies prevent her being indoors), and it was cold last night. She enjoyed getting warm next to me, I'm sure. >^..^<

Chris, of all the people I know, you must have to live one moment at a time. Way too many crises to deal with, but somehow you do. Bless your heart.

Nancy, when we lived in MA 42 years ago, we were so into hockey (Bruins, of course), but not since we left New England. Our DS and his family love going to Thunderbirds games. Their facility is just a few minutes from DS's house, and they go as a family on Tuesdays when it's half price (even the 3 kids, ages 20, 17, and 15). But I have very clear memories of how "enthusiastic" hockey fans are! ;)

Good luck on the de-cluttering, Laurie. It is such a good feeling. I recently went through all my ANCIENT costume jewelry that I haven't worn for years. Next time we drive to Utah, I will take it (& the jewelry boxes) to my DD. She is a Craig's List expert, and I know there are people out there who love that sort of jewelry. As I've gotten older, I find I wear less and less of it (too lazy?). But it feels SO GOOD to have it out of my sphere of living. Next: Those kitchen cabinet shelves so high up I never use what's on them anyway!

Goal today: Spend my Oscraps Gift $$$ ! ! !

Oh yes...favorite gift: Oscraps gift code!

Good morning ladies!!! I am late arriving here at the "O"!! We have been very busy visiting with DH's family and yesterday drove to Victoria to spend the day with DH's sister and her man. I will have to post about the trip we made over to a private island that SIL's man works on. Owned by a billionaire from Montana, he has the sweetest job ever! But I am in a hurry this morning and need to get going. More visiting. I hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas and I promise to catch up with personals in a day or so. Then I will have lots of time for doing the new challenges in the New Year and catching up with comments in the gallery also!! So many gorgeous pages to look at!!!

QOTD - Favorite gift has not been given yet for this Christmas, my trip to a warm beach with my Mister Gorgeous and I can't wait!!!!

Phylis, on your FB page I "warned" you I was going to scraplift your gorgeous page. As with most of my scraplifts, it's not as great as yours, but thought it would be a good forum in which to do a little preaching to young parents. They'll probably disagree with me (you might too), but that's the beauty of art and living in a free country, right? ;)

The journaling reads:
Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives.

Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is a way of foolishness.

Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.

Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.

Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.

Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.

And make the ordinary
come alive for them.

The extraordinary
will take care of itself.

Morning O fam. I am still not sleeping through the night or cough free. That combined with being home alone with no vehicle is really depressing me. I did start working in my craft room yesterday. I woke up at 4 and took hubby's truck for a spin into town to buy groceries. My fridge was empty thinking I was going to go for a beach get away. So now I have some fresh food - really was getting bored with apples and cuties! Here is hoping that I will continue to get better- by the time I do- I will return to work- now that is a bummer. I hope to scrap some today in addition to cleaning and sorting.

I am all scrambled with days and dates this week. I know that the holidays in the middle of the week and the kids being off doesn't help my regular date-challenge-ness.

But I am aware that it is Sunday, so at least I am good with that. :)
We'll have to see how I do with this up coming week. I had to shift my Tuesday client to Monday b/c Tues I am off to the hospital for my PICC line, and I am not supposed to use my arm for the first day. My Thursday client- not sure when/if I can get to him on Wed or not since he is having New Year's Eve at his house. My Friday client is still in Disney but I don't know if she will need me to clean since they have been gone. But what can I do? it is what it is.

I still haven't gotten my pj-day. I did so many loads of laundry, my parents came up, Gary and I worked on getting boxes broken down to put out for recycling. And then I ran over to Rite Aid and Walgreens (yes, along with banks and liquor stores we have 5 different pharmacies in the center of town.) to see if I could find the bathrobe set that had for Christmas. It was one of those gift packages and it was $12. I didn't get it when I saw it right before the holiday in case someone got me one, like my mom, knowing that I might need one in the hospital. But darn it, they were all gone. I have a really old Mickey Mouse bathrobe so I can use that. I don't typically wear bathrobes, I'll just throw on Gary's sweats if I am cold in my pj's.

Nothing planned for today except more laundry and washing dishes. And food. I have to think about "real" food since we seem to be living on dips and appetizers since Wednesday LOL

I hope that you all have a very restful day!

xoxo

Nancy- it has been so nice to see the sun here! That is hysterical about your son and the stove and the Indian food!
Good luck on your bird count today! It looks like it might be rainy up here, but at least it will be warm.

Laurie- good to hear you got a good chest x-ray report. Very smart of you to request that, especially since you have had pneumonia in the past.
Isn't it funny how a little change in furniture can make a difference in how a room feels?
No pity parties!!! Not here! Sending hugs and love!

Shar- no idea about Anna's papers but she and her team are very responsive to any questions you might have. Maybe PM her or one the the aA Team and see.
Awwww!! Kitty snuggles! One of mine (I think it was Heather/aka Catzilla, becasue it was heavy!) curled up on my lags last night.
I do try my best to live in the moment and to let the useless crap that I don't need go. I am not always successful and sometimes I fail miserable. But I try.
My mom and I got into a bit of a fight the other day becasue she has a tendency to hold onto negativity and grudges. We were arguing over how she felt about something that happened 7 years ago. I kept trying to tell her that there is no reason for something to still be eating at her for that long. It's not good.
Although... it might be easier for me because Lyme Brain makes me forget just about everything, so it is hard to hold a grudge when you can't even hold a memory!!!
Good job on the decluttering! I am starting a bag of clothes to donate. I got three new sweaters from my mom, so I am going to get rid of at least 3 old ones.

Trudy- ooooh! I cannot wait until you have time to tell about all of your travels! Hope that you and your Gary are feeling much better, no more colds.
I loooove your Gift-To-Be!!!!

SHAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG your page, your journaling -- it is amazing!!!!! I might be putting my foot in my mouth too (free speech! LOL), but that is how I raised my kids. I get frustrated sometimes when I see other parents having their kids in a million different activities and pushing them to the point where they don't have childhoods. My kids-- they were out in the woods, we would look for frogs and snakes, we would make sidewalk chalk art, after Christmas we would have cookies parties, just the three of us, we'd sing silly songs. Maybe it is the Preschool Teacher in me, but I always felt that it was better for them to be educated in Real Life as opposed to only text books.
My kids might not have gotten good grades, they might have not been involved in extracurricular activities in the school, but man, I think they are quite extraordinary.
Thank you for sharing this (and letting me blabber on!).:blah:

Oh Laurie- I am so sorry that you are feeling down. I hope that you feel happier today.

Hugs!!!

Morning O-Zies!! I much quieter day today, with only one stop from the In-Laws to our house to pick up some wine that is ready for them. Today will be a :washing:
cleaning-smiley.gif
day and then I really need to go through my closet and drawers to see what I can donate to the Diabetes Assoc. the truck will be here for a pick up on the 30th. Its a great way for me to get rid of many things including household stuff too.

Laurie - I am sorry that you are feeling a bit depressed today! Sure hope you get to feel better very soon! Too bad you will not be going on your beach trip :( feel better please!!

Shar - I adore your page!! and I totally agree with your way of thinking on parenting!! I would only let my kids be in one after school activity as they were growing up and that left time for all of the other real life learning that we all did together! Oh how I miss those days!! Both of my children turned out pretty awesome, although there were many hurdles for my daughter and my son struggled with what he wanted to do for a career. But they both have a really good grasp on what is important in life. They both are amazing parents too!

Chris - I do hope that you can get the days straightened out in your mind! My MIL is getting to be much more cynical as she ages and has a very hard time letting go of things that bother her! After our Christmas day and night with them, I asked my DH if he thought his mother was turning into a Negative Nellie and he laughed and said, Oh good you noticed it too! She did not have a good thing to say about any of the topics of conversation that came up during the evening. :noidea: Hoping still that you get to have your PJ day!!! You certainly deserve it my friend!!

Well I have to get another load of :washing: in and then tidy up the house a bit. Hope to soon scrap a page about our little journey to the Millionaire's Island. Hope I can find the right kit for it LOL!! Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Afternoon, ladies. Sorry I'm late showing up for the weekend. Just can't quite find my voice after reading all your many activities. My arthritic knee took a turn for the worse on the 24th and I've been rather hibernating since. It's a little better and I've been out to dinner, so not that much change. Tonight we're taking my sister to dinner for her birthday - she's 84.

Nancy, thinking of you while you're out counting birds. Hope it's a great day.

Hope everyone is having a peaceful and happy Sunday.
