hello hello hello!!!
Last weekend before the holidays. How are you all feeling? Getting close enough to be all set and ready to go? I think I am.
Downstairs is about as clean as it will need to me. I know I am going to need to freshen up the bathrooms/vacuum and other basic things before the family is here on Wednesday. But gifts are done- I only have to wrap two more.
Today will be a fun day of baking with my Pook.
Tomorrow will hopefully be chilling and tidying up. Monday we have an appt at the vet for Dilly. Her abscess is huge again. We also have cookies and treats to drop off at both vets.

I started to scrap a page yesterday and darn it if my computer didn't lock up on me. I have no idea where I left off with it and of course, it was for the Recipe challenge here so that had lots of things happened in the history panel.
There has to be a way to save/export that. Maybe?
I have the butter and cream cheese already out-- good news for Caitlyn that she won't get cold.

Love, hugs, and peaceful vibes to you!

Kay- how sweet of your DD to bring you flowers. You have an amazing family that loves you lots. Thank goodness that the sink seems to be an easy fix. Was SIL able to take care of that for you yet?
It sounds like looking through your photos made you happy, not too sad. I hope that is the case. Are you doing ok-ish so far this year? I remember that last year was very difficult and I am sending you big hugs whenever you need them.
My DD is bonkers, isn't she?? She makes me LMBO.

jean- we are finally going to be above freezing today. Caitlyn and I were commenting yesterday how crazy it was that the trees are *still* coated in ice from Monday's storm.
Were you successful in getting through the odds and ends yesterday?

Rae- you are waaaaaay too calm for me with still having more things to buy and wrap. LOL enjoy being cozy and reading NR-- and have a great time baking with your girls!

Felis- good luck with the vaccines today. I hope that the kitties have no issues with them.

Sorry for being short here, got lots to do! xoxoxo!

good morning - well my Devils played the Capitals on Friday night and they lost 6-3. It was expected. The Devils just are not a play off calibre team yet. But the cool thing is that they show bits of what they might be come as the young players grow into the NHL. Then it will be the Devils turn to win. The sad part when your team is not playing well that leaves lots of seats for fans from other teams. We were surrounded by Caps fans. And tonight my team plays the Blue Jackets in Columbus. I drove to the game and by the end of the night I had walked about 2 miles. So that made me happy. I was a bit stiff but I bet that was due to the cold. We have not hit the time of year where the inside of the rink is actually warmer than the outside. Today it may get to 33. Luther is still tired from day care and went on just a short walk. Now he is asleep. I got a really sweet compliment from my younger son today. He wants me to make a calendar from he friends photos from the past year. That made me so happy. He really does pay attention to my books and pages. I am finally back to my Blue Apron cooking. So looking forward to new recipes.

Chris my DH is finishing up grading finals. So I know how you feel except he does not take the time off - some days yes but not the whole winter break. Spring semester begins right after MLK day. Have fun baking today. I bet your house will smell delish!

Kay glad you are sleeping in to 6:30. Good to keep your foot up. Glad you SiL has a quick fix and you had the bins. What a sweet daughter to bring you such a beautiful flower arrangement!

Jean I loved the Traveling Wilburys. Their voices just fit together so well. Thanks for sharing those songs. Hope you got your stuff done. Have you heard if the painting arrived?

Rae have fun baking! I am sure you and the girls will have a great time.

Felis hope things are going well with the kitties. They need their shots. Have fun playing with them!

Have a great day all!

Quick in and out this morning. I am busy scanning photos into the computer. Keep finding more and more that I want to scan in and use for scrapping. I did find the photos of mom, Bill and I at Sequoia crest.. so very happy over those. I found some photos from Christmas 1999. And a real treasure were the ones of Bill {and some with me} with grandsons when they were tiny! And yes... seeing the photos do bring a smile to my lips. The holidays are hard as it was during them that we knew he would be gone soon. So it is a bittersweet time for me. Have good memories but also have sad moments.

No, SiL hasn't fix the sink yet... should be coming over tomorrow to take care of it. Yes, I am so lucky to have family around who will do those chores I can't do.

Well, back to scanning photos... hope you all have a good weekend.

Hi everyone. Busy day, we headed out to costco at 9 and then other errands, then home to walk Taz, took him shopping to pick out a new xmas toy and then more groceries and gas and insurance for the car. Then home to take a few pics of D as he makes his batch of jam-jam cookies (he makes them every xmas).

I've got some desk work so looks like a few more days of work for me before being finished until after New Years. J is coming over in a few hours to watch a few more episodes of Castle Rock and will sleep over, then go get B in the morning for our day of baking together. I still haven't wrapped anything so need to do a bit each day now and then finish up Tues. I always seem to end up wrapping a few things on Xmas Eve day.

So hope you are all enjoying this last wkend before Xmas.

Happy Hope to Sit on My Butt Sunday! Please let it be so.
Cait and I baked up a storm yesterday. 7 hours and ~20 dozen cookies. And only 1 of the walnut cups broke. Disappointing since the fam gets to eat the broken ones. That didn't stop Scott or Gary for "poison-testing" them anyway and they have been determined safe to eat. Whew. I was worried. *wink*

Aside from baking, I don't think I did much else. I still have to wrap those few gifts. Wash the wine glasses that are over the island. Other than that, I am doing pretty good.
I hope to get that page finished and uploaded today too.

Love to everyone.

Nancy- that is too bad that the Devils are still losing, but it sounds like they are "marinating" and starting to bland a bit. Exciting to see glimpses of how they might play in the future. That is always a lovely thing when the kids appreciate the scrap work we do!

Kay- the memories must be overwhelming at times. I hope that the happy ones are outweighing the sad moments. How sweet to see the baby-grands!

Rae- have a wonderful time int the kitchen today, hope that you girls share lots of laughter.

Hugs!!

Morning ladies... Phew another busy couple of days for us!! Our trip to Costco was really good and the traffic was light and the store not that busy at all. Guess we should always try to get there on a Friday and not Saturday!! Yesterday I tried several times to come here for a bit, but something always came up and I got dragged away from the computer :mmph: Today will be cleaning and getting beds ready, then I will have to hit the store again for a couple of items that I could not find the other day. I seem to spend a lot of time at the grocery store!! Today a friend of my sister is coming over to take a look at some of my card making supplies she wants something special stamped or stencilled on a special box that she is doing for one of her granddaughters. Not sure when she will be here so I need to get into the shower and get dressed soon. So just very quick personals today!

Chris - I hope that you get to sit on your butt today, you deserve to!! Wow that is a lot of baking you did yesterday! I only got 2 dozen shortbread cookies made and that might be all that I get done. DH just does not want all that baking in the house, because he is the only one that will eat them. Sorry to hear that your computer is giving you grief!! Figures right!! Just when you are able to sit for a bit get a page done!

Kay - Hoping that your SIL gets the sink fixed for you soon and I hope that the good memories outweigh the sad for this season, it must be a very difficult time for you! Thankfully you have such a wonderful loving family who will help you get through it!

Rae - Hope your trip to Costco was not too busy! That place can be a nightmare sometimes LOL. You sound like you have a few more very busy days ahead of you! Hope that everything goes smoothly and you get it all done!

Jean - DH and I both love the Travelling Willburys!! There music is so good and yes they do all sing so well together. Sad that they are no longer playing! Hope your focus is better today!

Felis - Hope all went well with the vet visit!! I will have to check out that movie, it sounds fun!!

Nancy - Your Devils and our Bruins have been a bit of a disappointment lately!! Hope that they both improve very soon! Wow you got in a big walk and I am so happy that you did so well with your knees, hopefully the stiffness is gone today! How nice that your pages are so well liked by your son!! The calendar will be a lovely thing to make for him! Horray for getting the Blue Apron meals again, they always sounds so yummy!!

Alright I need to get off the computer and get busy! Have a great Sunday everyone! 3 more sleeps before the big day!!

Up and down days right now... the foot decided it needed to be up most of yesterday and seems like it needs it up today, too! Oh, yes... the happy memories from looking at photos are more than the sad memories. I was LOL when I realized that the photos of us up on Sequoia Crest with the snow closed road was taken in mid-June!!! No wonder we were not dressed for winter.

DD#1 and SiL came over yesterday and got the leak fixed. Just to make sure that all is okay with it, I will wait until I have enough dirty dishes to run the dishwasher a full cycle. If no leaks, then I'll put the stuff away. At least I have put half-full bottles of cleaner together, tossed nearly empty ones and now know I have enough 'scrubbies', brushes, sponges to last for a few years!!! I will be moving those into the pantry [where I have plenty of empty shelves] so I can tell at a glance where they are and how many of them I have.

Chris, glad to hear that you and Cait had such fun baking... and that a LOT of cookies! I sure it was a chore for the guys to 'poison taste' some of them!

Rae sure you will have fun doing some baking with B. Guess it is the time for baking - DD#1 said she had made 4 different types of cookies on Friday. She will be sharing some with me.

Time to get some pain meds and then sit in the recliner with the foot up for awhile.

good early afternoon - got up and made pillsbury cinnamon buns which we all love. Then my DH took Luther for a walk and my son was out shopping so baked chocolate chip cookies. Both boys came in and said they looked burnt. LOL. Does not bother me as I am fine for eating myself. Last night's dinner was really good. Fun to have really fresh veggies and a new recipe. Just got off the phone with my SIL and that was so fun. She always makes me smile. She is not talking to her brother. Got more pages done for my Dec project! Will work on more today. My Devils lost again. They are off today in Chicago and will play that team tomorrow night and then it is the Christmas break.

Chris I thought baking one batch was a lot of cookies - you and Cait really baked! Glad you can relax today! Enjoy scrapping!

Trudy yes our Devils and Bruins need to get their acts together! Glad you got most of your errands done. Hope she finds the correct stamp!

Rae hope you all are enjoying your baking! Bet there are lots of smiles and yummy smells!

Kay I hope the photos are bringing you happy memories!

Have a great day all!

We have yet another sunny day and now the light snow cover is melting. Sure feels good to have all this sun. I think I am ready, remembering that DH and I don't wrap until Christmas Eve or do much else. The boxes to BiL did arrive including the artwork one. Will have to wait for the big day to get his reaction. And baking is not something I do anymore as neither of us should eat it. Good reinforcement for that was wearing a sweater yesterday I'd forgotten about that now fits beautifully, so no wonder I wasn't wearing it. And today is watching football on TV, eating popcorn (nothing added) at halftime and making dinner tonight.

Chris, I can't even imagine all those cookies. What fun that must have been but probably a lot of standing for you. And those poor guys having to "poison test." But why doesn't Scott get to bake too? If anyone is looking under your bed, it's just to find hidden presents, nothing else!

Trudy, you are such a nice lady letting folks come and investigate your card making supplies. Hope she finds just the stamp. I'm still so impressed with how beautifully you decorated the stairs. Everyone will have a great time for the holiday. The Traveling Wilburys were so wonderful but with both Roy Orbison and George Harrison (the prime force) gone, they are sadly no more.

Kay, sorry the foot is back to trouble-making! Hope a few more days keeping it elevated will get you ready for the day. Your plan for testing the dishwasher sounds good along with the rearranged supplies. All those rediscovered photos will make for wonderful pages to go with the happy memories. Love Chris's comment about your baby grands!

Nancy, chocolate chip cookies are wonderful no matter what. More for you if they don't agree. Back to BA will be nice and we'll be interested in hearing about the fun recipes. Hoping the Devils (and Bruins) do better. That 2 miles of walking is impressive (at least as long as the stiffness is now gone.)

Rae, I'm sure you will also be having a good day of baking. Hope B likes it as well as the tree decorating. As long as the desk work is done soon, it will be a nice break for the holidays.

Felis, thanks for the comments about me and the music. Glad you enjoyed the song. Hope things are less stressed now and the vet visit was good.

Almost there!

Hope everyone is on top of all they need to do now that it's the countdown to Xmas :)

I am popping in and out quickly as I have things to do before Jen gets back with B to do some baking soon. Busy day but fun.

Have a great day, everyone.
