*holds my head a little blearily*
I am not feeling so good and I brought all upon myself. I had a very long and exhausting day. I really dislike shopping so much. I left the house at 9 and was back home at 2. I made it to 6 stores and thankfully got a few more items crossed off of my list. I found some pretty candle holders for that last basket order that was placed on Thursday. I will add some greenery and bows and send that over to my neighbor by tomorrow. I found a couple of ideas for Scott that I will order on Amazon (thank goodness for Prime!) and a few stocking stuffers for the family. and dogs.

The reason why I am not feeling so hot is that I was so busy that I didn't eat a lot of anything. I poured a slightly too large glass of wine with a too small plate of spaghetti. To add insult to injury, one of my Rxs that helps me sleep is getting low and I decided that I would skip last night's dose. BIG mistake. I think I was up every hour the entire night. I am tired, my head is hurting, and I am hungry . :hungry:
And you know that I have *nothing* to do today but relax.

Caitlyn and I are going to start out heavy-duty baking today. We are going to do a triple recipe of walnut balls/Russian Tea cakes/snow balls. Whatever people want to call 'em, today we are baking 'em.

Wishing you a very lovely day today!

Nancy- thank goodness that you were able to get all of the calenders from your friend. I can imagine how confused he must have been to get 6. My dad has a card for metal detectors for his hip, it will be funny for one for your knee. When will you have it scheduled? Hope that the game was a good one last night.
we didn't get a lot of snow, a little over an inch. That made me happy.

Felis- so happy to hear that you and your sister are having a good time catching up on things together. Thanks for liking Arlene's gift!

Kay- Yippee for sleeping late, even if you read until midnight. Is there something that you can put on the computer desk to help position your shoulder better so it doesn't hurt anymore? At least you were able to figure out what it was. I would say congrats on getting out of your PJs today but I personally like to quote Liz Lemon who says that she transitions her night clothes into day clothes. That is my goal in life too-- socially acceptable PJs as day wear. ;)
I started scrapping around 2003-4 and was using Creating Keepsakes and Print Shop software too. Baby, we have come a long way from that!
Lyme sucks.:(

Trudy- I would never be able to take care of kids at this point, I struggle taking care of the pets! Good for your sister for doing so much. But I guess when it comes to your babies and your baby's babies-- you do what you have to do. I am so close to finishing my layout for one of the challenges! Glad that you are too.

Rae- I know that some pharmacists will tell you that you need to take abx on an empty stomach. By the kids' MLLMDand our LLMD always told us not too. Even something light will not affect the absorption rates (as long as it isn't grapefruit) and will make a huge difference in your stomach.

Jean--that is fab that you were able to take the info from the webinar and use it already! I love museums- hope that you and your DH had a great time-- and I am dying to know what was special????

Love you all!!!

Morning, gals. I did get dressed and out of the house yesterday. Came home from the library with a stack of books. LOL I returned 2 books that I know are still on the waiting list for someone. Only kept them for a week [not the 3 weeks I could have] as I know how it feels when you are waiting to read a special book. Hope it makes someone's holiday happy to get it early. I was able to find most of the Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalves so will indulge in a reading spree. Need some light reading right now. I am counting down until Dec 31 when the newest of the Bishop series books by Kay Hooper will go on sale!

Guess the road construction/upgrade near us is causing our cable connections to go off about every 2-3 days for an hour or more. I have a bundle with cable/phone/internet so I lose them all! Happened again for the 3rd time this week yesterday. I was talking to DD#2 when it stopped working. PITA!!! Glad I have my cell phone as I was able to call her back and finish the conversation.

Chris, now that I know what caused the problem with the shoulder, I won't be using my arm to brace myself when I lean forward toward the monitor - I will put my computer glasses on instead! I have a very good office chair - if I sit in like I should. So sorry you are not feeling so good today. Yep, not enough sleep or food will make you feel worse. Good luck on all that baking and other chores today.

LOL... I found some of the actions and styles - under the subfolder where I keep my latest kits.... labeled with Actions, styles, etc. Hope to get them loaded into PSE2019 so I can give it a good trial. Yes, Chris... guess we have come a long way in terms of software. I remember reading a book about PhotoShop way back when and saying it was too complicated so I went with PrintShop.

Morning O-zies! We are up fairly early... before 7am and having our coffee and waiting for the house to warm up a bit. I was sitting by the fireplace reading my book and then suddenly remembered that we have a memorial service to attend today. An old school friend's husband passed at the beginning of December, he had a lot of heart issues. It will be a very sad Christmas for her and her family!! So DH and I will have to start early on our grocery shopping and errand running this morning. Yesterday I finally finished off my page for the Day 2 challenge and will start working on the next one sometime this weekend. I also have a mixed media canvas that I want to do as a little gift for SIL Linda who is hosting Christmas at her place this year!

Chris - Oh dear, I am sorry that you are not feeling so great today! Yes all that running around shopping and forgetting to eat along with the wine surely did not help you out! Your house will be smelling heavenly today with all that baking! Remember to eat something healthy in between bites of goodies LOL. I hope that you get to relax at some point today!

Kay - Glad to hear you found your Photoshop Actions! Nice of you to return the books to the library early! That is too bad that the power continues to go off for you, hopefully they will be done with all that construction soon!

Off to get us some breakfast and then we need to get going with the rest of the day! Have a great Saturday everyone!

good morning - My Devils won in OT against the Vegas Golden Knights. I feel so bad for my goalie Cory Schneider. He gets no help from his team and I am sure he is not totally confident. Well he gave up 3 goals in the first 10 min so Kinkaid replaced him. It was about time we got the bounces as two Devils goals went off Vegas players. Nico Hishier scored 47 secs into OT. The Knights left the ice but there was a delay as the NHL said that they linesmen had to be sure that the Devils were not offsides. Well turned out that after a bit of a delay that the goal was good. This is the most fight I have seen in my team. Now tonight they play Nashville in Nashville. Kinkaid will be the goalie again. Maybe this will be a turning point in the season. Called my doctor's office and got a more potent pain med for my knee. And I slept so much better. For those wondering I will have the surgery schedule for Jan 22. Got more scrapping done. My DH and my son took in their calendars and both told me they got amazing compliments on the calendar. In my son's office they, at first, did not believe that these were photos we had taken. LOL. My son said I should do this for money and while I am pleased at the compliment I don't like the pressure of doing for others. I like what I like and people want changes and under a time constraint. He laughed but understands.

Chris glad that you did not get too much snow. Sorry you are not feeling so well. I bet baking with Cait will help a lot. Your house is going to smell so good. Glad you found stuff while shopping. Eat!

Kay glad you made it out. Have fun reading! I would love to read but want to scrap too. How to find the time to do it all. Glad you found your actions. Have fun really trying out PSE2019.

Trudy how fun to spend the time with your sister. My sister has I think 7 or 8 grandkids (I love track LOL) and I know when she baby sits at the end of the night she is exhausted. I know I could not do it. But as we have all said, if we have to we will. I know you will be busy today!

Felis so glad you and your sister enjoy talking about her trip. So fun to spend sister time.

Jean that meeting is helping you already! Just amazing what you have done with your genealogy studies.

Rae I had to get the new pneumonia vax and I could not believe how much my arm hurt. It is not the flu vax which never hurts so weird. Good luck with the abx and your stomach.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Have had a wonderfully relaxing morning, drinking coffee, finishing my book and Taz snoozed in the chair with me. D has been busy rebuilding/loading our android box and adding add-ons. Its kept him busy this week off and on. He's learning quickly how to do this all. I have no idea how so am quite impressed with his learning skills. I'm hopping in the shower in a minute, then will get dressed and take Taz out for a walk and then we'll head up to the hospital to see B. Jen is staying home this wk as she's home sick. Hopefully she will feel better by Tues morning when her and I meet with the hospital re B's case.

I'm going to make muffins tonight (was too tired last night) and relax with a few TV shows. At bedtime each night I've been watching some of the new Hallmark Xmas movies. I keep falling asleep and then the next night have to figure out where I left off and finish watching. In the last couple of wks I've gotten thru about 3-4 of them. I've got another 4 or so PVR'd. I love the lighthearted, feel-good ending kind of stories with the Xmas themes. Any other time of the year I'd think they were hooky but they are perfect for Xmas time.

Tomorrow I'll be Xmas shopping, maybe get a bit of wrapping done and maybe decide which desserts to make. One for sure I've decided on is thumbprint cookies, now that I found a jam that has chia seeds and no white sugar.

D is now on holidays for 2 wks. It'll be strange to have him around the house so much. He'll watch a ton of movies and putter around his shop in the garage. He'll do his xmas shopping too. I have no idea what I want. We're only going to buy a few small things for each other but I'm stumped as to what I'd like. I need to think about this over the wkend.

Chris - hope you can relax today and build your energy up.

Kay - have fun with PSE. I bought PSE a few yrs ago for B, maybe someday she'll be able to use it. I really think scrapping can be so therapeutic and would be good for her.

Trudy - sorry to hear of your friend's husband. So sad to hear, especially around holiday time. Sounds like a busy day for you. We had shaw upgrades about a month ago and for 3-4 days we kept losing everything for minutes and hrs at a time. Glad it's all done now.

Nancy - what wonderful compliments you got and I agree! My arm is still hurting from the flu vax but lessening each day so no problems with it. So far with the abx its slightly bothersome but its better than its ever been before when I've had to take them. I am eating yogurt each day and taking a probiotic twice a day. I think that is helping. Also, I started out with a really good gut flora b/c of my healthy low carb diet. So I hope that continues, I've got 7 more days to go.

Hope everyone is well and has a great day. I'd better get going. We're supposed to leave soon to go see B and I haven't even showed yet LOL.

Good morning girls,
yesterday was so annoying day for me. The dog was go mad, running around and made big mischiefs. Naughty boy!
However, snuggle in my chair for some quiet tv time sounds like the best idea now and I'll steal it from Rae. Today is the big final of the TV show we watched. It's similar to BigBrother, but people are locked at old farm and have to rebuild it and care for an animals. Also they drop out through duels which includes bench forging, hanging on beam, draw milk and ect. Even the lady I was for is not anymore at the race. There still are nice finalists: a rock star, a successful athlete, men with dramatic self story and girl which everybody hates, but she was strong enough to overcome their bad attitude. I hope the rock star to win, not because I like him from before, but he is most noble in his behavior from these four people. Will see what will happens tonight when viewers also will can vote.
No other plans for today. Have a relaxing day you all! :cofscreen:

Looks like my new habit is combination of comments for two day in one. So here they are:

Chris, sorry to hear that you wasn't feel good! And strongly hope that you kept your words to get day for relax! Can you imagine that some people swears that shopping is therapy?! I also can't understand this, but they do it.

Rae, I also think scraping is therapeutic especially art journaling! Your plans for the weekend sounds great have fun! Count me in the group of Naive Christmas movies lovers ;) ! I love this time of the year when we can truly believe in love and magic!!!
Nancy, I hope that at least the fan support is some kind of consolation for your goalie to build the confidence he needs! I'm also agree with your son that you can makes calendars and autograph cards for hockey fans, and you will be very successful!!! But as a ex-owner of etsy shop I totally understand you about that how the customer whims can poisoned something you love to craft.

Kay, I understand that's your culture and it make more sense for you and obviously work well, but I still feel it very unfair parent who is gives the best years to rise kids to be left to live alone. At least your daughter live close enough to can comes often! To read until midnight don't sound so bad, especially if you needs from less night sleep. How kind to returned this books early so to can someone takes them during the holidays!

Jean, great that the webinar was useful! Hope your Christmas mood is high and helps you to catch up with all Christmas preparations! What was this special thing in the museum?

Trudy, hope Mason is feeling better! This mixed media canvas gift is a great idea!
Sorry for your friend's loss!

Happy Sunday!!! My goal for today is to clear my desk and maybe the brain will follow. yeah, nope. Not gonna happen.:p
I am going to try to clean off my desk but I doubt that will do much for my brain. I think that I simply have to accept the fact that it is "that time of year" where everything goes kablooey. If you could see my house.... :hurt:

I am really pleased with the candle holder basket. Nothing in there but the candles and holders but I had to bubble wrap them in very carefully. I taped some silvery flowers/greenery to cover up some of the bubble wrap so when they open it, it will look pretty. One basket down, 4 more to go and they are all mostly done except for one. I am waiting on the ornament I ordered from Etsy to be mailed and I should have that tomorrow. I should be able to get that done by Wed. This is the hardest time period when I have a lot of projects in process but very little is completed. My kitchen has baking supplies everywhere, my dining room table has craft supplies everywhere and my bedroom has boxes hiding gifts, wrapped gifts plus the wrapping paper, gifts bags, and tissue paper. I only "lost" 2 gifts so far. I hide them and then cannot remember where I did.

Caitlyn and I baked the walnut balls and only 1 broke. We split that one and mmmm, it was good. :hungry: We only doubled the recipe and we might try to do one more batch if time permits.
I also uploaded my LO of the family and dogs finally. Kerstin was very sweet and gave it a Standing O! I was pretty happy with how it came out and it is nice being able to scrap a photo of my family/pets instead of ILs vacation.

Speaking of ILs, they are coming up today. FIL is going to help Gary move the old sofa upstairs and get rid of the old dilapidated futon since the new sofa will be here tomorrow. I will be happy when it is here but darn it, I wanted it *after* Christmas LOL Hopefully MIL will be fine watching me paint my mom's Christmas gift. My mom wanted photos so I was thinking of getting something printed by Walgreens since we have one of those in town. But when I was at the Dollar Store, they had a (god-awful) photo hanger. It was yellow/blue/green/red wood- obviously for a kids room. Three photos frames that hang from a bar. My semi-creative mind shouted out-- Paint it!! She loves soft blues and greens and you have those paints at home!!
I have a base coat of beige on it right now to make it more uniform/hide the super bright primary colors it came in. And the good thing-- it is doesn't work out-- it only cost me a dollar.

So that is it from me. I won't bore you with my ramblings on having to plan for dinners this week and food shopping and blah :blah:

Love and hugs!!!xoxox

Kay- a reading spree sounds like *heaven* to me-- maybe after the holidays I can go to my parent's lakehouse (Bringing my mom so she can cook for me and my dad so he can pour my wine and tend the fireplace) and read for three days straight!
How did it feel to get out and about, should hold up ok while driving?
That is maddening about the cable/phone/net going out. How long will the construction be going on?
great news about finding your actions, enjoy PSE19!

Trudy- (I love that avi of you BTW, you look so amazing!!)
That is one heck of a way to "wake up" remembering a memorial service. How sad for your friend, I cannot imagine how hard it must be...
Would you believe that my nose is totally shot? Between the F-Ws, then cleaning supplies, then spray paint and now food/baking... I feel like my nose can't appreciate anything. I need to get outside for a while and clear it out hahah!!

Nancy- Good job Devils on the OT win! Maybe this will help them to recharge.
I am not surprised that everyone loved the calendars but it must feel so great when you get compliments. Even doing albums for my family as their gifts, it does put a layer of pressure that makes it hard to do. I understand why you wouldn't want to make calendars for others.
I will be thinking of you when you get your surgery done- hope that the new pain meds help until then.

BRB-- W is whining to go out.
The darn dog didn't want to be out in the rain so she wouldn't go. *grumbles*

Rae- Your morning of relaxing sounds wonderful and is so well deserved, really glad that you did that for yourself.
Gary's mind must be like Darrell's, how they can learn things like that. I would have no clue. Hope it keeps him busy and out of your hair hahah!!
How was your visit with B?
I can understand how you keep falling asleep watching the movies, you must be so exhausted at the end of the day.

Felis-Which dog was being naughty, Biggie? Bad boy! :dogwalk: You know I understand that all too well too. I don't watch reality shows but that one doesn't sound too bad if they have to care for animals. Hope that the finale was good.
I don't get the shopping as therapy either. When I was a teenager, I *loved* going to the mall. I would rather go to the dentist, then the eye dr and followed by the gynecologist before I would want to go to a mall.

good morning - my son and I watched the new Outlander. It was good, really good. It had characters from the past showing up again! Chris Starz is having a special on their app for $5 for 3 months. I don't know if there is a catch where then it goes to the regular price but it might be worth looking into. My Devils played the Nashville Predators to a 1-1 tie through out OT. Came down to shoot out. But my scores could not score and they did so they lost. But to get 3 of 4 points against two of the best teams in the West is very good and my team should be pretty happy. If they play this way in all games this should win more games. Not sure though what my team can do with helping my goalie Cory Schneider. Only two teams the Vegas Golden Knights and my Devils have the back up goalies not won one game. How weird is that. Got more pages done so that makes me happy. My son bought his dad drones to play with the dog and cat. Well it turns out they are much harder to fly than they thought it would be. While they crashed they did not break. I am sleeping better so that is good.

Chris have fun with your ILs. Congrats on the baking that is so cool. I love the description of your house. Sounds like mine house with stuff strewn everywhere.

Kay how many books did you read? I feel it must have been more than one. Sounds so inviting. Did you get any scrapping done?

Trudy a memorial service to start the weekend cannot be easy. But how nice for you and your MG to be there for support. Hope the rest of the day and weekend is happier.

Rae your morning sounds so relaxing. Hope you have fun with your visit today.

Felis that sounds so funny but not funny when the dog goes a bit bonkers. Luther does that every once in a while. Hope everything settled down after that. Have fun today!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies...Happy Sunday! It is very cloudy and grey out there today, but I have tons of things to do inside the house today, so its all good! DH is going to get his haircut this morning and then get his shopping done for Christmas. I have been dropping hints all week as to what I might like in my stocking this year, but has he listened?? :noidea: Today I need to clean the house and do some :washing: and hopefully spend some time here at the O and also get started on a new painting project for myself. This is a Christmasy one and just for me. I have made a couple in the past and given them as gifts to SIL and to DD and now it is time for me to have one for my own. It is called a Santa dummy board and it stands about 3ft tall and is meant to keep by the fireplace. An old fashioned kind of look to it and I just love the colours. I will post a pic when I have it completed. Hopefully DH will find a few minutes to cut it out for me. I used to have no problem running the scroll saw, but now it kind of frightens me, so I will leave that job to him.

Chris - That is great that you have gotten your baking done, wish I could be there to sample a few things! (but that would not be good for my Keto diet!) ha, ha I do miss the sweets sometimes, so it is good that there are none here for me to get into. Thanks for the compliment on my AVI I think after Christmas I will do a new one without the glasses. For some reason I think that my glasses make my nose look bigger :becky: That is too bad that you are not able to smell all those great baking scents, hopefully you can get out in the fresh air again soon and refresh your nostrils! Hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Nancy - Hooray for your Devils, but I understand how you feel bad about Cory Schneider, I feel the same way when goalies have to be replaced, it must be humiliating for them! Totally forgot about watching Outlander so we will be watching it tonight for sure!

Rae - Such a busy lady you are! But nice to hear that you have had some reading and snuggle time with Taz! Hopefully the next couple of weeks are much slower for you! Enjoy your visit with B today, give her a hug from all of us!! How awesome that your hubby is updating your android box I really need to do ours too, but it will be all on me as my Gary can't do anything techy nor is he even interested in learning. I don't understand why not, for heaven's sake don't fall behind or you will be left in the dust with technology I don't want that to happen!!

Felis - Oh dear bad, bad dog!! Hope that there was no damage done! Hope that the guy you like on your show wins for you! Enjoy your nice quiet time!

Ok lots of :washing: to do and then I need to get the vacuum out and wash the floors
cleaning-smiley.gif
Hope to get a bit caught up here today too! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, if I have cross posted with any of you then I will pop in here again and say :hello: for now I best get busy with all the housework , that way I won't have to do it tomorrow!

Good morning, ladies. Enjoyed my book for a few hrs, then out for a jog with Taz and luckily it was only mildly misty out. With all the rain we're having it's been tricky finding time to go jogging, so I was happy to get out with Taz. I'm heading out for a bit of shopping soon and maybe wrap a few gifts later. B wants me to buy a scarf for her to give to Jen on Xmas so will look for that today at Winners, they always have a great selection. As for shopping (I read in the earlier posts there was talk about shopping as therapy), I used to think of it as therapy yrs ago but these past few yrs I've changed and now only want to shop as quickly as I can and hate wandering aimlessly, not being sure of what I want to get. I'll take Taz with me, we'll go to Winners and Canadian Tire and then will pop into the dog store for T's treats. That'll be it for me today b/c at this time of the year I hate driving anywhere around here as the traffic is insane b/c we live a few blocks from one of the largest malls in the Vancouver area and everyone is out shopping. It takes 2 or 3 times longer to get anywhere now and it'll stay like this right up until the 24th.

Chris - I bet the frames will be awesome when you've finished painting. I don't think I've ever see a project you've shared a pic of that I didn't think was amazing.

Trudy - can't wait to see your project completed. Hope G does the cutting out for you, I'd be afraid to use that too. I can't even watch D use his, it makes me cringe.

Stacey - I just love your pics of Dory....such a sweetie!

Felis - that reality shows sounds great. We've got the Survivor finality this coming wk to watch. 5 of us each picked players at the start of the show. We'll have a potluck dinner for us soon and we all have to bring food except for the person with the winning name. They don't have to pay for anything, just enjoy the gathering. I have 1 person left, my hubs as 2, so it'll be fun to watch the finale as we have a chance to win. We're excited for 2 Big Brothers to start up in the new year (a Canadian edition and a celebrity edition).

Nancy - how fun to play with drones. I've never seen one up close. Glad to hear you are sleeping better. Don't know why but so am I.

Hope everyone is having a great wkend. Gotta go and get stuff done.

I was running late this morning so didn't stop in here until now. And it will be a quick visit - have to go to the store. Wanted to have cereal with milk for breakfast only to discover that the milk was sour [along with the eggnog]. Was going to fix a sandwich for lunch and no bread in the pantry or freezer! Not sure what I want to supper so may pick up a take-out while I am out. :bolt:

Stacey, thanks for posting photos of Dory. Reminds me a bit of Cooper. Hope Dory's barking is settling down now.

Nancy, I read 2 books and got started on another one. I am skipping around authors on my reading as I am not doing real well with love stores right now. May have to take part of the books back and try them again later on. I did read all of the Outlander books a few years ago; then bought most of them and re-read them last year right before the TV series started. I saw one that I think is the later one in the series at the Library book-sale but didn't have my list with me to know if I had it. I don't - so will try to get it this week sometime. Yes, I am scrapping some - did one for a Designer's scraplift challenge. Had not worked with her kits before so it was great fun. I love brushes and accents so will be doing more of her challenges.

Hope you all have a good day today.
