Happy weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
How are all of you today? Hopefully, everyone slept in and has a relaxing day ahead.
OK, maybe that is wishful thinking for a lot of us- only 2 weekends left before Christmas.

I had three things on my list for yesterday and I accomplished a bit of each. Of course, the kitchen needs to get cleaned again, why is it that dishes just get dirty all of the time? hehe! I made the falafel mixture in the morning so all I had to do was fry them up at dinnertime. They are soooo yummy but what a PITA to make. I also started getting my F-W's baskets gathered into place. I have a box for each of them, with an index card with the prices for them so I can add them up as I go to get to the right total.

Cait and I went to the dog park when she got home from school. When we got there, there was only one other dog, a *beautiful* Golden Retriever. I am all about Rescues, but I love all dogs, and wow --this girl was stunning. And what a sweetheart too, she would come over and flop at my feet. :)
The three girls ran a bit but they were kind of mellow. Then three more dogs showed up. One of them was Elvis, who I know from Puppy School. *That* was a $150 wasted on him- he was still so "untrained??" :D
His mom is one of those who says- "Elvis. No. Elviiiis. No. He is going to do XYZ, why won't he listen to me???" But she is nice and he loves to run, so Jaida got some good running in. The other two dogs were also very active, and Ravyn couldn't keep up. I think Ray was jealous, and wanted Jaida to herself cuz she kept barking at them all. She never barks.
Then a little Jack Russell mix came, teeny thing, 6 months old, and she was hysterical! She taunted all of the big dogs. She would get them chasing her, then she would dive under on of the ramps where they wouldn't fit. After the other dogs left and it was just the Jack, Elvis and my girls, the Jack would take off and Ray was zooming after her!
We ended up staying an hour and came home with two very slobbering and slobbered on puppies.

Today I am going to my friend's to bake and chat. Tomorrow is full on baking here.

I still have to figure out what I am doing for my Brother and my SIL for Xmas.....

good morning! Before I forget here is the link to my painting page

Yesterday was awesome as Luther and I got in two good walks. My son and policed the backyard to get rid of his poo. I wish I had had iPhone to take photos as my son is such a germaphobe that he has to wear gloves and keep his distance. But he did it while Luther and I watched. Then I went to the NJ Devils game and it was so fun as there were Star Wars characters scattered all through the arena. But Detroit is a good team and lead 2-0 at the start of the 3rd period but in the 3rd the Devils scored 2 and won in OT. It was awesome to win! Tonight we are going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert at the Rock. Looking forward to that as we are going with all the kids. Tomorrow should be quiet.

Chris I too hate that I always have dishing getting dirty! I would love to use throw away but I like the environment too much to do that. The dog park sounds like a lot of fun. We have one near us but I (as you all know) a whip around other dogs. I still have a hard time knowing when dogs are playing or fighting.

Trudy glad the wind stopped. Happy Birthday to your son. It is hard when they live so far. I feel totally lucky that my married son is close.

Rae so sorry about your computer problems. It is a bummer to lose so much work. Glad though it was a solvable problem. Have fun this weekend decorating!

Hi Kat! Waving to Aussie land! So glad to hear the surgery went well. Hope her recovery is fast and easy!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies, I am headed back to bed  as I was up at 3:30 again this morning and now I am about to crash!! I will stop in here later to catch up with all of you!

Hello everyone
Robbie and I have just had a challenging day. We went to our local town to shop and it started snowing within minutes the market place was completely snarled up. A bus had Jack knife d and no taxis or buses were running
The town is on a hill and nothing could get up or down
We walked about half a mile down to the swimming baths and took shelter. We were offered a lift so took it,but unfortunately the car we were in couldn't make it up the hills in the snow, so We abandoned it in a safe place and started the lon g walk home. Robbie hates rain . And believe me snow is now as bad for him,we walked three miles home which is a long way when it is snowing,
Robbie was really struggling , no cars were moving so rang my husband he had just got home from work and so he walked up and met us to accompany us the last mile home. Although it was cold and wet we were much safer on foot.
It does look very picturesque now we are out of it but I have a feeling we may just be grounded by the weather and the Christmas holidays may happen a week earlier than expected.

Good morning, ladies! Got all my work caught up yesterday and went to pick up the new monitor last night. I also transferred photos off the hard drive yesterday (took 5 hrs to move 1/2 T). So if my personal computer crashes, at least my photos are off of it. My goal is to start sorting through the small externals I have that have client and personal photos on them and get another large HD to separate personal and client. Then I want to copy digital scrap stuff onto another external so I have a backup. I would be devasted to lose all my digi stuff (right now only on one external HD so will feel much better when I get a duplicate). Once I get my computer cleaned out and rebuilt in January (decided to spend less money and just get this one cleaned out and upgraded a bit if possible) then the plan is to download raw images onto the EHD and then keep double copies of the jpegs as I edit. Ugh....so much work to get it all organized. But it's my own fault, I've been procrastinating for years so it's time.

Last night I was exhausted so by the time I finished work, picked up the monitor, and made dinner I was tired. I ended up having a nice quiet night with my hubs, just enjoying a marathon of Limitless episodes until 11 when I decided I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I used to stay up until 1-2 am but not anymore. Going to finish the tree tonight, address cards, do laundry and get groceries. Tomorrow we're going out for breakfast and then come home to sort through the Xmas stuff and figure out what I still need to buy. I'll head over to the mall tomorrow afternoon to hopefully finish up my shopping but at least I have one more weekend if I need to grab a few more things. I want to squeeze in a bit of scrapping over the weekend here and there.

Chris - sounds like a fun time at the dog park. If it stops raining here we'll be popping by our local park too this wkend.

Nancy - you and Luther are getting in lots of exercise. Your painting is fabulous! Love it!

Trudy - hope you get some sleep and feel rested up.

Claire - all that snow and all that walking you had to do! Glad you made it home safely. We have nothing but rain here. No snow forecasted at all in the next few weeks.

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I just posted in another thread that I wish Christmas was over so I could have time to scrap!
I really don't know where the hours in a day are flying off to. I blink and they are gone. Anyone relate???

Yesterday was so warm outside and should be again today. I was able to get the outside lights up and the small fence drape in some fake greenery and red bows. I really was on the fence (haha, no pun intended.) about even bothering but it looks so festive that I am glad that I did. Big improvement.:)

Cait came with me to my neighbors house. It was me and Cait, BFFATS and her DD (they moved in across the street when the girls were 18 months old. They were best friends until middle school when they drifted, but still like and respect each other which is nice), my friend who was hosting it and then a DD of one of her friends who is 14 and whoa. Kinda nice, kinda obnoxious. LOL Dani (BFFATS DD) doesn't like her and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing at the eye rolling going on with her and Cait.

I was going to make magic bars, only to realize that I forgot to buy coconut. I grabbed a box of cookie mix just to bring soemthing. And I made these bruschettas that were soooo good. New recipe for me, but it is a keeper! Lura made Swedish cinnamon rolls and Dani found a recipe for an Almond shortbread type cookie. They are going to be added in next year. Really good!!

Today is the big baking day for Cait and I-- walnut cups (tassies) and walnut balls (snowballs). I have to finish up here and then wake her up so we can get going.

Happy happy days to all of you!!!

And I am so sorry I haven't had time to do QOTDs (Rae, I know you did that at Mscraps-- feel free to do that here any time you like!!) or personals, but life will slow down soon. I hope.

xoxoxoo!!!!

Really quick personals cuz I miss you all!!!

Nancy- that painting great!
Hysterical about your DS on Poop Patrol!! One way to tell if dogs are fighting or not is to look at their mouths. If that are growling and snapping but the teeth are not close tot he other dog, that is playing. J and R are really loud growling but even when they are rolling around their teeth are bared but not near each other. Is Rex coming up again soon?
Devils game sounds like it was a blast :laser: and TSO! IL's saw them last year and loved it. THat is what Cait and I listen to when we bake- I have the first three of their albuns, nit sure if they have any others.

Sleep well, Trudy!!!!

Claire- that sounds horrific!!! I would have laid down in the snow and cried. Does Robbie bounce back once he is in comfortable surroundings? Poor guy :(

Rae- ugh about all of the computer issues and it is nerve wracking thinking about losing your stuff. One thing after another for you. Hope it is all up and working and backed up and organized quickly.

Good Sunday morning to you all !! I am feeling much more rested today and hope to actually try to scrap a page today. It has been so long that I hope I remember how to do it! :becky: Another stormy night last night and sounds like lots more to come, soon the roads will start to flood down around in the valley, that will not be fun to deal with. We seem to go from one extreme to the other, but still very thankful to have all the water levels back up after our summer of drought!!

Chris - sounds like you got some great recipes for cookies and that the afternoon was fun, even putting up with the obnoxious teenager!!LOL I know that the new challenges have to be done soon, but we still don't have a schedule for them yet, so I will have to get to work with Clara on that!

Nancy - LOL too bad you did not get a pic of your son on poo patrol!! Glad you had such a great time at the game and that there were lots dressed up for the occasion!

Claire - Oh dear that was such a bad day for you and Robbie!! I hope that he is feeling much better now and you are also! Sounds like the weather is really bad where you are, hope it improves for you and the cars can get around town again soon!! That is such a long walk for you both to get home! I bet you were totally exhausted at the end of it!

Rae - You will be so busy getting all of your stuff organized, but you will be so happy when it is all done. I have all of my photos and scrap stuff on my EHD and I really want to get a new one soon, it seems to be slowing down a lot and I am so afraid that it will crash on me one day :gaah: it would be like the end of the world!! But having all that stuff on the EHD sure keeps my Mac from getting bogged down and running slow! Hope you had a great breakfast out this morning and that you got all your errands done!

Ok off to make some breakfast for DH and myself and then maybe, just maybe I can scrap a page today?? Wish me luck!! Oh and I am meeting my sisters for lunch today, just a little Christmas gift to each other and a much overdue get together it will be nice to catch up!

Good late afternoon! Finally there is a lull in the house. Thanks for all the nice comments on the painting. Got up to find that my DS had taken Luther on a morning walk as he and Rex were playing and keeping Ashley awake. Very proud of him for getting out. Rex, Ashley and Chaz arrived around 5 pm. Rex and Luther acted like long lost friends. OMgosh Rex is such an adult and Luther is such a puppy. I think Luther is big but LOL Rex is bigger. Well TSO was just amazing! The light show with pyrotechnics was so impressive. And the music was beautiful and loud LOL. I think everyone had a great time.

Chris TSO has a new album out so you can have new music while you bake. Glad that everyone had a good time at the cookie bake. I was so surprised how well Rex and Luther are getting along. Luther knows that Rex is older and follows him around. Too funny.

Claire OMgosh that snow story and the walk home wow what an experience. So glad your DH could come and meet you. I hope your son is recovering well since he does not this kind of weather. We are have such above normal temperatures I think we will hit a record today - it is 69 F. It does not feel like Christmas temperatures or Dec temperatures. But for having dogs that need to go out it is pretty good.

Rae I would much rather have a new computer that do the organizing but I did just what you are going to be doing. Get the non necessary off the computer to back up EHDs. Time consuming yet so necessary! Have fun with the decorations etc!

Trudy glad you got more sleep and feel rested today. Have fun with your sisters.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. My hubs and I woke up, got dressed and headed out for breakfast. I don't eat a lot of carbs (especially flour stuff) so really enjoyed the treat of whole grain/nut pancakes...yum. Snapped a few pics with my phone so I can scrap about it. Got the tree finished last night and did a bit of decorating with garland/lights under the fireplace mantle and a few decorations around the LR and foyer. Tonight is definitely card addressing so I can mail them out tomorrow. Going to stain the coat rack and cabinet today that will be going in the foyer.

Chris - I'd be happy to do a QOTD. I saw too somewhere that you were looking for a poster for the 24th for the GSO thing. Not sure what needs to be done but if you can walk me through it I'd be happy to do it. I read the instructions but was still unsure what it entailed. You can always chat with me through messaging on FB about it. I'll post a QOTD now in the chatter forum. Sounds like the baking was fun! Have fun baking again today. I'll be baking next Sunday with my GD.

Nancy - I bet Luther is having a blast with Rex!

Trudy - Enjoy the lunch date with your sisters.

Have a great day, everyone!
