Good morning and happy weekend to ya! Please tell me that you slept better/longer than I did. I woke up at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Thankfully, I slept pretty decently until then so I don't feel too awful.

It was a chaotic day for the fam yesterday. Cait's home-buying adventure is currently on hold. The lawyers are still trying to figure something out so she is just waiting to see what will come of it. The back and forth of it all is stressing her out.
I only caught bits and pieces of what Scott was telling Gary before he left for work, but he had an off-the-rails day yesterday. He got rear-ended (I think in the work truck) and got pulled over (definitely in the work truck) for not making it through a yellow light. The cop basically told him that he saw the light change but needed to pull him over for "appearances" since Scott was in a County vehicle. He worked until midnight and left this morning at 6.30. He is on the schedule until 7 but will most likely not get off until 10 pm. Please keep those good thoughts coming to him. TIA!

I spent two hours at my friend's house weeding his front walkway, it looks so much better but still needs more work. I hope that I can get back there next week. I also scrapped a page with Karen Schulz's Love My Dog kit and used her sketch action to make a stamp of Whisky. That action is fantastic! I love how it came out.

Today is the FP, thank goodness. I have been running out of stuff and the grocery budget is harder and harder to stick to.

OOOOH!!! I forgot to tell you all!! I have two hummingbirds!!!!!!!dance4
They were coming to the feeder on and off all day yesterday and we could hear them chirping ♥ I didn't get to see them both at the same time but Caitlyn did. I am *obsessed* with them. Ob-sessed. LOL

On that happy note, I am going to post this and get the day rolling along.

How is Braden, getting all settled in? Hope that Adrienne does ok once she gets home, sending big hugs to her~~~

@bcgal00 Lots of easy selling/buying/moving thoughts to you. It's such a shame that you have to move because of a lack of medical resources. I am glad that you have the cruises for some built-in breaks. Hugs!

@vickyday Ooooh yuck, your poor stomach. I hope that you are doing much better today!

Hope Scott has a better day!
Is that action of Karen's something we're allowed to get with the team code?

Good morning ladies. This is it...the week that Syd moves back to school. Her move in time at the apartment is 2:00 on Wednesday so I'm taking the afternoon off and we will all go (even Shaun) to move her in. By this time next weekend, I'll be picking back up with my Cheery-O duties and I'm hoping that we get to the new normal. Whatever that is! A few layouts, daily O's on a "daily" basis! But I can't wait! I've sure missed all of you!

Now off to take a look at what has been going on here so I can do some personals.

Good Saturday to you!
I believe I've turned the corner on the COVID today! Thank You Lord!
Mark is still good! Thank You Lord! He thought he was getting it last night because his throat was feeling weird. But he worked all day yesterday on getting a pine tree cut up and moved. And of all things for the guy who loves the woods, guess what he is allergic to? If you said pine you guessed right! So I figure he inhaled too much pine dust.
My throat is still scratchy and I still have a slight headache but I'm feeling better today, thank You Lord!
Have a wonderful day!
Today I am thankful for Dr. Guardino!

Ok. So I think that I am caught up.

@vickyday I am so sorry that you got Covid but I'm sure glad that the doctor was able to get some meds to help you feel better so quickly! I will admit that the meds that I took (Paxlovid) did a great job. It still knocked me out for a few days, but overall not bad. I hope that Mark's throat was just scratchy due to the pine exposure from the woods. We were lucky here...Brian and Shaun both escaped it and Syd was at school.

@faerywings Scott and Sam are looking at apartments. Wow!! Now that would be crazy! I am so sorry that poor Cait is having such a rough time with her first home purchase. I am sure that she is totally stressed! I would be going crazy! And the people selling the house sure need to spend some money to at least find out what they are dealing with. Otherwise, they might just die owning that house. No one will buy it. And the days at the fair sound awful...poor kid! Thinking good thoughts.

@bcgal00 thinking of you as you sell your house. Are you doing open houses where you need to load the dogs in the car and take them somewhere? Selling a house with dogs is more challenging (says the woman who just did that)!

@Cherylndesigns well lots going on at your place. First, ((hugs)) to Adrienne as she leaves Braden in Arkansas. It is hard. And while I am not as worried about all of the little details as I was last year, I think that I am in denial that Syd is leaving again. A is very fortunate to have you around...you will keep her occupied. And so sorry that Steph isn't in Joplin...but 6 hours is "doable" compared to the distance to Florida!

@BrightEyes glad that you have your son and daughter-in-law visiting soon! And glad that the shots are helping your shoulder.

Ok...I'm off to get cleaned up so that I'll be ready for whatever Sydney has planned when she gets up. She says we are "packing" today...whatever that means.

The doctor I go to treats with Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine. I get the hydroxychloroquine because that is what my insurance covers. Plus he prescribes Doxycycline Hyclate and PredniSONE. I take this protocol for 10 days along with vitamins and supplements: D3, C, Quercetin, Tumeric, Zinc. I did have to call him yesterday to prescribe something for nausea....he ordered promethazine. And I also take famotadine for the acid. I'm also supposed to take apirin but I don't have any. I may have Mark pick some up for me while he is out and about today. Didn't feel much difference at all yesterday (Day 1 of the meds) but am feeling better today, thank You, Lord!

Wow... seems like August is flying by way too fast! Yes, the steroid shots in the shoulder are helping with the pain, thank goodness. But still have trouble with weakness in lifting things, cutting food, and typing very long. It takes longer when cooking but I persevere and get it done. I had picked up 2 eggplants (on sale) and some zucchini and they needed to be cooked before they went bad. I usually only do one eggplant for the casserole but had to use both. Got out my HUGE skillet and it was full! Ended up with enough for about 8-9 meals! Most will be stored in the freezer but will enjoy it for supper tonight.

Today will be a 'beauty day'... need to trim my fingernails as the tips are 3/4" long (again) and are making it harder to type. Also need to cut the toenails. Will also be using lots of lotion on the hands, feet and face. DD#1 did that for me the last time she was here.

Sending good thoughts to everyone. HAGD

Good morning all.

It's a lazy, overcast day here but no rain forecast. We have Lila right now and will probably have Marley later on. Adrienne and Roger decided to take a long weekend after they got B settled in. Linda @LSlycord Syd goes to a big school. They had this crazy thing when B had to check in to U of A. They had different "stations" that they had to report to and then had like 45 minutes to move into their dorm room. They said it was mass chaos. I just wondered if that was SOP for big schools. We leisurely moved Adrienne and Steph into their rooms, but they both went to smaller universities. There are around 30,000 students enrolled there! He will be pledging and probably living in a frat house next year, but they have to live in the student dorms the first year. I'm sure you're not looking forward to Syd leaving again, but at least she's close, too.

Chris @faerywings what a day for Scott! That's pretty weird that he got pulled over just because he was driving a work truck then to get rear ended on top of that. I can't believe you've never seen Tuna. He was all over Instagram for about two years, but that wa a long time ago. Some of us used to send each other Tuna memes almost every day. I have a lot of them printed out. We used to say "But firth let me take a thelfie" all the time. You can look up Tuna memes or just dog with overbite memes and you can see hundreds of them.

Vicky @vickyday glad you're feeling a little better and that your doctor put you on the good meds. Keep improving!

I'm over and out - I need to get dressed before Ava shows up and brings the troublemaker, Marley. She stayed at Ava's last night because Alyssa had to work late. She was here for most of the afternoon. She's bigger than Daisy now and she's not even a year old - a huge puppy that's always on the go and looking for something to chew up.

XOXO

Yep, that's how Syd's was last year. Complete and total chaos. You could only take one car and then you had 15 minutes to get the car unloaded and then you needed to move the car. They gave you a big dolly and you got in a long line with everything loaded on this dolly. The parents could hold a spot in the line while the students went to check in, get their key, and some other nonsense. Syd was on the 13th floor (top floor) of the building and they only had one elevator working. So the line didn't move very fast. Her check in was early but the wait was awful. It was hot and humid but we at least got in before the rainstorm. They closed down the move in during the storm so everyone needed to leave the line.

UF handles move-ins and housing awful! I swear I could organize it much better, even if they do have a lot of students.

This time she is moving into an apartment on the second floor so it should be pretty easy. Not many heavy items...a mini fridge and the bunk trunk. Everything else should be easy. We will see if that is true!

Wow, so you went through the same thing - part of that "move in time" also included getting to the car, moving it, etc. CRAZY!! It sounds like insanity to me - there must be a better way. How nerve wracking and then all but one of the elevators were down for you. Apparently, that's Standard Operating Procedure at the big schools. This year move in will be a breeze, compared to last year!!

Hello, lOves! What day is it? What year is it? I feel like I have no clue anymore.
I honestly can't get over that it is Aug 13- hitting the middle of the month already. August always went by quickly and this year, even with no back-to-school vibe, is no different.

Yesterday turned out to be a little of this, a little of that kinda day. The FP was packed and one of the volunteers told me that the increase in clients over the last year is huge. I know they had run out of several things I had requested by the time we got there 15 minutes after the official start time. I was #31. I think they took pity on me that they didn't; have a lot of items because they really stocked me up on chicken cutlets and dog food :)
Caitlyn and I had time to relax and work on a puzzle for a little while and watch the hummingbirds. And the yellow jackets. eep. Did I tell you that we have a nest in the siding of our house and they are getting inside somehow? Thankfully, they are mostly focused on trying to get out so we can use a cup and piece of paper to get them back outside but I don't want them to sting any of us or the dogs. W would be the one to try and pounce on them.

I am off to another forest bathing hike this morning, this time at the ecology center Scott used to work at. I haven't been there other than the time I went on the 1st grade Field Trip with his class. :D His friend is leading that one too and I might explore the trails afterward again. I'll need to get a map for sure.

That's it from here. Hope you are all relaxing and enjoying your day! xoxoxo

@vickyday how are you feeling today? And Mark is ok still too? Silly man-- breathing the pine dust when he is allergic.
I messaged Karen about the action and she said that it was ok to get it with the code. As for Scott, I have no idea when he got home, it was well after 10 pm when I fell asleep. Gary was fast asleep on the sofa and didn't see him at all. He has another long day today too, I think the schedule is 1 pm to 1 am. At least that means he can sleep in a little longer.

@LSlycord I am so sad for you and Syd and the fam. I hope you get lots and lots of hugs in the next few days. You know that we will be here to cheer you up and cheer you on.
Caitlyn has been googling NJ and local septic laws and codes and has a good grasp on what needs to be approved *if* they are to buy the house. She doesn't want to get saddled with anything if/when they sell it at some point in the future. She is astounding me with how she thinks so far ahead and covers all of her bases. There is *no way* that at 24 I was anywhere close to being that responsible and mature. SMH-- not even slightly close.

@BrightEyes I am sure you will get there, recovering your strength as you heal. Do you have one of those stress balls? My LLMD suggested I use something like that to build strength in my hands. I didn't have one but I used Gary's - sheesh what is it called-- guitarists use them Ha! I googled guitarist finger strengthener- and I used one of these.

@Cherylndesigns How has the rain amount been by you, are you getting the levels you should be? Sending you some nice steady rain vibes if you need them.
I sure as heck didn't miss the college dorm move-in experience with my two. Life seems much, much easier that they commuted. My niece went to Rutgers and it was crazy there too. Freshman move-in had to be even crazier than regular move-ins.
If Tuna was mostly on Instagram I wouldn't have seen it. I am rarely ever on there.

Good Sunday morning to everyone,
While I do feel better I'm still dealing with a sore throat and slight headache but Mark is still good! I'm going to stay home from church today since most of the congregation is older than I am and most of them have health issues.
Today I am thankful Mark is still illness free!
Have a great day!

Good morning. I am so happy to be starting my day with you ladies. Well not really starting it...I've been looking at floorplans to build in Iowa. LOL I am really in need of an intervention. There is never a dull moment here.

It's just Brian and me that are awake and moving...along with the dogs. LOL Busy week for both kids. Shaun finally gets to register for classes tomorrow. Then moving Syd on Wednesday.

@Cherylndesigns I think that it is just how things are. They know that those poor college kids...and even more their poor parents...are stuck. What a way to make a first impression!

@vickyday so glad that you are feeling better. And definitely grateful that Mark hasn't caught it.

@faerywings of course Cait is doing her research on septic systems. She is quite a woman. And, to be fair, we didn't have the internet back when we were their age. To do research would have taken visits to who knows how many offices to find out what the laws were. The internet is good and bad!

@BrightEyes a "beauty day" sounds like a great idea!

Ok...I need to get cleaned up. I think today will be busy!

Thanks for the suggestion... I do have a ball from when I had the surgery for the torn rotator cuff on the right shoulder. It won't hurt to try it out.

@vickyday You are wise to not go to church until you are completely well. So glad your hubby hasn't got sick either.

@LSlycord Hope the move-in for Syd goes much easier this year compared to last year. Wow, no grass growing under your feet - with you already looking at floorplans for the house in Iowa.

Need to get my shower then do some laundry. HAGD

Good afternoon my loves.

Chris @faerywings we've gotten quite a bit of rain - we sure needed it. Now my weeds look like they're on crack. I must get out there and pull, pull, pull. Our house is still standing after all the dogs. It's a crazy jungle in here and along with the cat, and Marley is obsessed with him. He usually runs and hides under a bed, or wants out. It never fails - the very day or the day after Casey cleans, here they all come. She makes our dark wood floors look SO beautiful and I say "I only want beautiful shiny floors for a few days". I guess that's too much to ask. Marley and Bailee (Ava's dog are typical big dogs and throw water all over the place when they drink. There go my pretty floors. Bailee's a lab so they bite the water. I try to keep the water bowl put up and take them outside for drinks, but they still manage to trash my kitchen floor.:crazy:

Linda @LSlycord you're going to make yourself  looking at floor plans already. J/K - you do you because I know you will anyway. :floorlaugh: Yes, that college check-in thing is insane. B lives on the third floor and he's a minimalist - didn't really have too much stuff. He said it wasn't too bad, but then, he doesn't get excited or worked up about anything. I wish I was as easy-going as he is and I'm not sure where he got that. :floorlaugh: I know you're in for a busy few days.

Vicky @vickyday glad you're feeling a little better and that Mark hasn't gotten it yet. Fingers crossed and good call for staying home today.

Kay @BrightEyes hope you're continuing to take it easy.

I'm going to scoot - hugs to everybody.
