Happy Saturday!

I wish I could have slept a little later than I did, but at least I wasn't up at 5 am. 5.45. Yup, I made it to 5.45. ha!!!
Not a big deal since I had my alarm set for 6. I am off to the vet this morning with Cait. She had an appt for Clover at 9 and we have to bring Floyd back in so they are putting him in right after.
Cait is still a bit concerned about the lump/swollen area where the last tumor was removed by her tail. The swelling still hasn't gone down and she just wants the vet to peek at it.
The appt for Floyd is to teach us how to give him subcutaneous fluids. His kidney enzymes are elevated showing some kidney disease. we have to switch him to a renal support diet and then do sub-cu fluids twice a week. When I spoke to the vet on the phone yesterday, she didn't seem horribly concerned but I dunno, Kidney disease sounds kind of serious. with every other pet, we have had, I have dealt with every disorder from cancer to separation anxiety to urinary infections and then last with Kib, liver disease. Kidney disease is a first for me. (there are many more issues in that list, but if I went through all of them I would be here until tomorrow! LOL)

I felt kind of crummy all day. The snow was coming down pretty good in the morning and by 10 am, the lawn was completely covered. That did not help my mood. Thank goodness it is all gone today.
I cleaned a bit, played with the dogs a bit. Scrapped page for my godson's birthday album. I have 8 more pages to go by the end of the month.

At least I made a yummy dinner. Cait wanted cinnamon rolls and I didn't have any in the fridge so I made them from scratch. I did the dough in the bread machine and then rolled them out, and baked them. OMG- they were really good! Much better than Pillsbury. We did that with some scrambled eggs and watched a couple of episodes of Parks and Rec and Santa Clarita Diet.If you have Netflix and you are not watching that, you have to. It is hysterical!! Really really funny.

I have to get in the shower- back later on for personals! xoxo

Morning everyone... It was raining so hard at 3am it woke both DH and myself up, boy was it pouring!! It has stopped for now but it looks like more rain on the way soon. Oh well its better than snow, right Chris? We got a txt from our son last night, asking if they could crash at our place tonight? Well duh, of course :becky: I guess by the time they fly in and then catch the ferry, it will be late and they really won't feel like doing the 2 hour drive home, so hooray for us we get to see the kids and find out all about their trip. So today I will be putting fresh sheets on the beds etc. Horrible news this morning on the TV as 14 young hockey players were killed and another 14 injured going to a tournament in Nipawin Saskatchen last night. They were T-boned by a semi truck driver. My DH used to ref for that league, so it struck home hard for him! Those poor families, my heart breaks for them! The whole hockey community will be devasted by this! Please send out all your good thoughts to these families!

Chris - It seems lately that you spend more time at the Vets then you do at home LOL. Hope that Clover is fine and that there is no concern from the Vet about the lump! Poor Floyd, I hope that you can get his kidney disease under control. I have gone through every one of the same disorders with our pets also, it is heart breaking to see them suffer through all of that! Your cinnamon rolls sounds so delicious! I wish I could eat them, but I am afraid my stomach would revolt terribly! I have heard that the Santa Carita Diet is hilarious. I have to try to get DH to watch it for sure! Hope you can finish off a couple more pages for your Godson today and I will pray that the snow has made its last appearance in your area!

Jean - How lovely to see you back here! I love your layout of the daffodil that would not bloom! No wonder you were feeling a bit blue, the weather has had the same effect on most of us here, however I have been fortunate enough to not have to deal with the snow, just a ton of rain! Hope your seminar goes well!

Felis - How sweet of you to be concerned over what will happen to Storm when my son and his family move to Ontario. She will of course go along with them and join them in their new home in Ottawa. They are hoping to live a bit out in the countryside, so I know that Storm will love being able to get outside and have fun running around. They would never give her up to someone else, she is a member of their family. Please don't ever feel bad about asking me anything, I am happy to listen to all questions

:hello: to Nancy and Rae, I hope that your morning is going well!

Already on my second cup of coffee and should get into the shower and get on with the day. A bit of grocery shopping and housework, it much too wet to do any gardening today. My life sounds like a broken record LOL same old thing all the time. Oh well it is what it is. Have a great day ladies!

Good morning, ladies. I am just popping in for a quick hello as I have to do a bit of desk work before we head out to our accountant for tax stuff and then over to the hospital to see Bailey. I made more blueberry/lemon muffins last night so will bring those up along with cheesecake for her. Food is the one thing that makes her happy right now.

There was another incident of patient neglect with Bailey by a nurse who made her cry and scared her, yelling at her. Jen had to meet with the ward manager and get that nurse removed from Bailey's team. Also, we found out that B has had the superbug MRSA all this time and that is why there is a pink sign in her room. No one had ever told us and we supposed to be wearing masks/gown/gloves this whole time WTH???? What is wrong with this hospital? It boggles my mind. But luckily this wkend a really good nurse is on duty and we know B will get good care during the day at least when she is working. They tried to throw Jen out a few nights ago and the nurse was telling B that Jen was bad and didn't she want J to go home? She asked repeatedly until finally B said, she can do what she wants. So the nurse tried to throw J out. She called the psych team and tried to say that J was a detriment to B's behavior and was making her worse. WTH??? So luckily the psych team knows J by this point and after discussing with J and finding out what that nurse was doing, they suggested reporting her and making a formal complaint against her. Ugh. Poor B went catatonic for 24 hours after that ordeal. She has backslid this week and is worse again but hopefully will start to improve again. Please pray for her.

Chris - the SCD show is on my list to watch soon. I've seen promos for it and know we'll enjoy it. Hope the reduced kidney function is manageable. I think that J's cat Noel had reduced kidney function and had a diet change too and seems to be doing well.

Trudy - isn't that just terrible about that accident? We saw it on the news this morning and it just breaks my heart.

Nancy, Jean, Felis...everyone else....hope you all have a great wkend.

Gotta go. Maybe I'll get to check in later tonight. BFN

I am back-- wasn't sure if I was going to make it. Yikes, what a morning.
So not good news for anyone at the vet. Clover's lump is a tumor and it feels like it is malignant to the vet. She aspirated it and the cells look like solid cancer cells, not like if it were a cyst. It has been monitored since Jan so the vet said it is much larger than it was the last time she was in. There isn't anything that can be done. Surgery isn't an option because of the size, placement and Clover age. Muffin's lump in her armpit feels benign. It could be surgically removed if it bothers her or gets much bigger but for now, it is just watching.

Floyd - oh my goodness.
I was thinking sub-cu fluids-- little syringes of saline or something like that. When the tech rolls in a 1L bag and an IV pole, I about *died.* He won't get the entire bag at once. Only 100mL 2 times a week. And it doesn't have to go in as a drip like I had to do, but the line can be open completely. It should only take about 10-15 minutes start to finish. But darn it, I thought that my IV pole days were done for good. Glad that we didn't get rid of it.

We got home, snuggled the rats a bit and then Cait and I ran over to the food pantry. I am now home in my PJs and ready for bed.

Trudy- I saw online about the bus crash, how absolutely awful. I can't imagine. :(
But what a good thing to have your son and the kids with you for a bit more! That will make everything better!
Thanks for the good thoughts for Floyd.

Nancy- WTG Devils!! You must be thrilled!!!
It was snowing here again this morning. just sticking to the cars but darn it. I can't seem to get warm.
I would be happy to pay more in taxes for free community college too. I would also pay more in taxes to get the potholes filled in. Are they horrible by you too? I hit one the other day and I yelped- loudly! Cait was cracking up at me for that.

Trudy- that stinks that you weren't able to get any scrapping done the other day.
Ahhhh!! What a horrible dream about Mr. Abu! I had weird dreams last night too, some about the dogs fighting and biting people. Go figure. :/
Poor Mason- i hope that the dentist experience won't be too bad for him.

Jean- i am sorry that you are dealing with this horrid weather too. I loved the LO- you were good at taking the photos and it shows that you had hope FWIW.

Felis- Happy Easter to you and your family! I hope that you are able to enjoy the weekend. Sorry that the weather is giving you the blues too.
Floyd stays upstairs because of the dogs but the kids snuggle with him a lot. And when I am up chatting with Caitlyn, he usually climbs onto my lap too.
Enjoy the chocolate bunnies!

Hi Rae! I am not used to cross-posting with you. That nurse is making my blood boil. What a horrible person- and a nurse? I would have had a hard time not hitting her. But that would have been very unhelpful to B and to Jen so good for her for keeping it together.
I hope that B is able to get back to where she was quickly and then better than that too.
Hugs!

good evening - very late post and I am not sure where my day went. I heard last night the horrible news about the bus accident with the Humboldt Bronco hockey team. When I heard the number of fatalities I just got sick. What a sad sad day. What I have come to realize is that all of Canada knows about hockey and bus rides. I still remember the story of another Bronco team that Joe Sakic was on. Lindy Ruff an assistant coach for the NY Rangers lost his brother in that crash. On the good side we did not get any snow yesterday just some rain and then the sun came out and it was to the high 50s. Got up and walked Luther and again sun and lots of wind but that was all. I had a fun time doing challenge 4 this month. I don't usually do them but I saw some of the posted pages and they intrigued me so I tried. Wow was that fun. It turned out so well. I never use filters but boy can they make a difference. Tonight is my team's 82 and last regular season game. They are resting lots of their players as it does not matter they are in the playoffs and they don't want their main guys hurt. They are leaving in our rookie Nico so he will be the only Devil to play in all 82 games. That is pretty cool. I cant believe the regular season is over, it went so fast. I guess when the season goes well it happens fast. My son and his co worker have been at our house all day doing work. It is amazing to see them do this stuff from their computers to places in CA and FL. Makes me realize just how easy it must be for some one to hack when they are doing this stuff remotely.

Chris OMgosh that is something for Floyd. Poor guy how will he do. I know my cat cannot does not like to be held and so for her to take 15 mins I would have to wear armor. Sorry about Clover. I know you all will make her feel happy and loved. Glad you are now in your pjs. I cannot believe I am still wearing a heavy coat.

Trudy I am sending prayers to those families. Such a tragedy. How fun to have family in for a visit. My DH's sister just let us know she is coming for a visit in June. That will be such fun. Bet they had a great time and now the kids can tell you all about it. Hope the rain stops!

Rae I cannot believe a nurse what be that non caring with Bailey. And I am glad Jen got rid of her from Bailey's team. Sounds like Jen has a great relationship with the rest of the team. Wow I cant believe they did not tell you about MRSA that is scary! Have a great visit and may this be the start of her recovery! Your treats for her sound delicious!

Jean so sad that you are having our cold and dreary weather. I saw that the Twins game is starting at 27 degrees. At hockey games it is not even that cold. Baseball should not be played in the cold. Hope your meeting went well today!

Felis happy Easter.

Have a great day all!

GooOd mOrning, and a happy Sunday to you all! ::grouphug

I will make this brief since I am in (yet another) mood. :( I cannot stand being in my head. And if I can't stand that, no one else should have to deal with me either. ha!!!

Nothing happening here today, I have to get ready for food shopping tomorrow, some laundry. But that is about it.

Love to all!

Nancy- Aren't the monthly challenges fun? Ona does the best Creative Techniques Challenges. I need to work on that one some more.

Yesterday we had a nice day with an entertaining speaker. Last night I worked on Ona's challenge and found it fun and now find it got a standing O - what a super surprise. Tonight I'm making dinner from leftovers and watching a movie.

Chris, so sorry you are in such a state today. Hope tomorrow is better despite all and food shopping too.

Nancy, how nice that you have the Devils in the playoffs. Looks like our weather is improving this week, so you and Luther should have some nice walks. Of course the other side of hockey news is so sad. Tragedies like that leave such a deep mark.

Rae, glad you could stop in. Like the others here can't imagine or understand that hateful nurse. Continue thinking of you and your family and wishing everyone better days.

Trudy, nice to have the family back for a night. Bet the kids were full of stories of their Disney time.

Felis, hope you got to enjoy the Easter related time and traditions.

Chris, I'm saw this procedure, but never made it by my own. The cat that we had to treat wasn't familiar with humans, so we couldn't just hug her, and was very difficult to keep it static. We tried with toys and even food. I'm not sure it's appropriate cat to eat during the sub-cu fluids procedure but the vet told that we are desperate. Of course you know your cat and will just hugs him. So Floyd will be on a specialized food for one month, and after that you have to switch his food to more fish cat food and less beef and pork. Or what?! I'm always wondering why cats like so much beef cat food, when it the wild they can't catch cow?! Hope he will like fish variant too (Mine aren't fans?!)! I'm afraid that a health issues are part of the geriatric care, and this wait all of us, not only the cats.
So bad news about Clover! I really sorry! Poor Cait, hug her strong! This is exactly what I feels past few week. What is matter of all I do, when fate has already predetermined awful ends?! We give them only year or two more than in nature, but that's it. I'm so tired, so desperate! But it wasn't about me, but about Cait, I just don't have what to say in this case.

Trudy, you are raised great children!!! It's awesome that they can get Stormy with them!

Rae, Nancy and Jean, I'll catch you tomorrow!
