Sorry that this is so big-- but here is a pic of me and my new 'do
71425_10151524934917770_1289507372_n.jpg

I have to ask this however.... why can you never EVER blow out your hair like they do in the salon???? Why?? I tried so hard to do it the same way she did and it all flipped out or laid flat in all the wrong ways. And it is hard to tell in the pic, but the blond chunks on top are brighter than they show up here.

Anyway- that is me and its so nice to not have 6" dark brown roots and super-frizzy ends.

Cait took a whole bunch of "selfies" of us and there are some seriously funny/scary ones of us making faces and of scott photo-bombing us too. I am sure you will see a scrap page in the future! LOL

I am off to wake up Scott and Leah soon. We are off to the Annual Breakfast at my friend's house and roadside clean-up afterwards. Then the big picnic at our town lake (where i park my butt all summer when I am not working!). I don't know what the kids will eat-- they only serve hots dogs and they don't east any meat except some chicken and fish.... Guess they will have to fill up on the chips or cookies hahah!!

Caitlyn is not coming with us which makes me kind of bummed since we do this together every year. But she has a big band concert to go to tonight. 4 of her favorite bands-- she is so excited she almost threw up yesterday bwah!!!! One of the band playing is the one I used the Lyrics in this months Lyric Challenge. I told her that she has to let them know that we scrapped one of their songs if she gets to see them at the Meet and Greet. LOL

What good stuff are you doing this weekend?

sit ups-- 4 sets/16... still never got to check what Iwas doing but I have to remind myself it was supposed to be actually doing them, not how many I did. :)
But I am commenting that I did them today b/c I was ready to blow it off and I didn't :)

Chris you look GREAT!! Today- cleaning and gardening- and trying to figure out my phone. My husband is on a clean out throw out tear and I am behind him making sure he doesn't throw out stuff I wanted.

good morning - today is the last day my NJ Devils play a game until next Sept when preseason starts. Hockey will continue just not with my Devils. Going to be a nice day today in the upper 60s. Must mow the lawn and figure out if I want to grow weeds or grow grass. Most days I just dont care. However I live on a street where 90% have lawn maintenance services and so our lawn looks pretty bad in comparison. I am sure I am lowering everyone's property value. Other than that not much else going on. I have started a good book so maybe I will just read.

Chris love the photo! You look grrrrreat! Have fun today with your clean-up

Laurie have fun with that new phone!

Have a great day all!

Morning all... a cloudy day today and we are supposed to have :rain: all weekend :hurt: I want the sun back!!

Chris - Not sure what the secret is to the way the salon does your hair?? I know I keep trying to but it never looks the same as when they do it. Not that you can do much with my funny bob of a haircut?? Hope that you have fun at your clean up and breakfast, too bad Caitlyn is going with you, but she will have a good time I am sure! Enjoy the weekend!!

Laurie - LOL you sound like my MIL when we try to get rid of the hoards of stuff she hangs on to!! (you can't throw that out I might use it one day!!) Really?? You haven't used it in 10 yrs, do you really think that you will use it now?? Sure hope you are not like that :becky:

Kristy - Sorry you are so tired you better get some more

Nancy - Hope you decide to get your lawn cut ( you don't want to drive property prices down!) :becky: Sorry it is the last day for your devils to play hockey this year  but you can cheer on the Bruins with us!! :cheer2:

Well better get my grocery list started, the cupboards are bare so old Mother Hubbard has to go shopping today :mmph: Have a great weekend all

hiya! wow, what a gorgeous day it is here! it's actually 70 degrees. the trees are really starting to come out. lots of blossoms everywhere. all's right with the world.

Chris. you fox, you! the hair looks great! i know just what you mean about not being able to duplicate the salon work. i am totally pathetic at blowdrying my hair. my hair looks good for one day, when i get it cut. then it looks flat and goofy all the other days....

Nancy, who's your team going to be moving forward this season? can i suggest the Penguins?? :becky:

Kristy, when is your "help" coming back home? or is he back already? hope you get some rest.

Laurie, my hubby doesn't understand the concept of a clean-out. he doesn't have much "stuff" to begin with, but the stuff he has, even if he never uses uses it...well, let's just say i have to do the clearing out when he's not at home!

Trudy, sorry. i have the sun over HERE!!! :becky:

hubby and i went to the cemetery and did some good work. got more done than i planned. then we went to My Big Fat Greek Gyro for an early dinner. YUM! for the rest of the day it's laundry and reading and some video and maybe a fast trip to the supermarket. DD's coming over for dinner tomorrow.

hope everyone enjoyed the day!

today was nerve wracking for me....Elyse had ballet this morning and then we had to scoot over to a birthday party after...so this is how my night/morning went

finally went to sleep a bit after 1am...
was up at 4am
was up at 6am
was up for the day at 7am (seriously ugh...annoying just couldn't sleep well...nerves...)
why the nerves?? well I had to drive downtown..ALONE...for the first time...EVER by myself....I hate driving downtown....I seriously had a panic attack and it took me 20mins to calm down once I was done driving...
anyways....so left the house at 9am....dropped Helena off at the neighbors (their sons party) so they took her with them...I took elyse to ballet...got to the bday party around 1115...followed the kids around for about an hour....we had lunch did the present thing again...party was supposed to end at 1230...we were there til after 2 LOL...so more walking around for me...left got home to a murdered chicken....well almost...it was slightly alive but you could see its brain...TMI??? haha farm life...anyways 2 of the other chickens killed him (his name was Jack*ss for a reason cause that is what he was....so I was not surprised they killed him....they rest are MUCH calmer now that he is gone....anyways....so then I left the kids with a friend so I could get a bigger baby pool for the ducks since they have now popped the blow up one and they are just too big for it now....and now I am sitting here relaxing and ready for bed...made the kids frozen pizza for dinner....ready to SLEEP all night tonight

gooooOd morning my lovely O-zies!
We are having some gorgeous spring weather here, and wow, that makes me happy! We broke 70* yesterday and might get close to that today. Then the next few days it will be rain booo!
I was going to plant my morning glory seeds today but I keep forgetting to soak them. looks like I will have to wait a while to do that.

Thanks for the sweet compliments on my hair! I wish I could have gotten it as nice as the salon way but oh well. I think I don't have the patience to really section it out and dry is as slowly as they do. (me, not have patience?? I know. It is shocking!! hahahahaaaa!)

I wish I saw myself as other people do. Have you seen the Dove video that has been flying around social media about having a person describe themselves to a sketch artist and then a friend describes that person to a sketch artist. The difference inthe sketches show how we perceive ourselves so much more negatively. That is me in a nutshell. Not saying that I am a model or anything, but all i see in that pic are the bags under my eyes, my icky skin and wrinkles. Its a good thing that is not a full body shot- cuz then I would be showing you my fat rolls and cellulite!!
:hurt:

To be fair, I am 100% equal opportunity negativity finder. I also see the HUGE mess of my desk behind me too
Enough blabbering about myself- I really need to be in therapy, don't I??:pound:

I won a prize at the Picnic yesterday-- $25 to a local pizzeria!! I was so very excited to win since I had NO food in my house to feed us for dinner. The kids were seriously bummed that I said we'd have to deal with leftovers. (I was bummed too but dried out home made pizza is better than nothing....)
We had pizza for dinner last night- no way was that GC going to waste.:D

Puttering around the house today- maybe a bit more yard work before the rain comes tomorrow.

Hope all of you have great days too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning O fam- my nice weather is being hidden by rain all day- that is okay. Yesterday in addition to caulking and removing adhesive from the backsplash project, I also weeded my strawberry patch. My son made me three 4 by 4 raised square foot gardens and two 2 by 8 foot beds to fill with raspberries and blueberries- Today- the inside jobs and a run into town for work! I woke up before 4am, got up at 415 and have downloaded books for next weeks vacation and placed holds on books to pick up at the library! We also planned our drive down to include winery stops along the way- what fun we will have !

From yesterday.....

BTW-- where has Nana been???????? I miss you Nana!!!!!! I guess the kids have her running all around. I see pics being posted on FB so I know they haven't tied her up!

Kirsti- sounds like you need a hug and a glass of wine! Sending both of those to you through my monitor! and :partywine

Laurie-ack!!! Men have next to no sense of what to keep/toss. Hope things didn't get too tense at your house!

Nancy- if it weren't for weeds, I wouldn't have a lawn! LOL I love a more natural look than one that is manicured but it must be hard when all of the other houses are the same. Just remember that you are doing a service to our Earth by not using weed killers wasting water and all that stuff to keep a lawn alive. My MIL just posted soemthing to me on FB about God looking down and seeing the lawns and pavement and how sad he was that we didn't appreciate all of the "weeds" that he gave us. Food for thought *wink*

Trudy- I wish my hair was straight like yours- you bob is too cute. Hope that you get at least a bit of sun this weekend. And it sounded like Cait had a good time last night. She texted me updates. But she was really really upset that something went weird with their tickets. They were supposed to be down on the floor/general admission/close to the stage. But they ended up way back in seats, far away. AND she had her hairspray confiscated. hahah!!

Phyllis-- wasn't the weather yesterday wonderful!! My forsythia has POPPED!!! G;lad that you were able to get to the cemetery, its always so nice when you can see results. Have a great visit with your DD. It sounds like things are looking much better with her?

tee hee about getting Nancy to root for the Penguins/Bruins.
Nancy have you chosen your stand-in team yet? You might not have a choice if Trudy and Phyllis have any say :D

Kristy-- oh man-- you really did need that hug/wine. That sounds like a stressful day. I hate city driving too and I refuse to drive at all in NYC. But you did it and that is great!!
Hope that you slept really good last night. And the 3rd will be here before we know it. Its Gary's b-day and it always comes up so fast on me. Just a few more days!

Cynthia- ugh on losing the internet. But so nice that you had friends to visit with you. And Sarita's boyfriend?? Is he nice?? New guy??? He'd better be good to her!

Remember-- no pressure to post her if you are not feeling up to it. (The only thing we ask if if you are not going to be online for a bit-- just pop into let us know how you are doing because we do worry when people disappear completely :) )

hugs to all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great photo Chris, your new hair doo looks good on you!
I hope you had a great day yesterday and Caitlyn had a wonderful time at the concert!

Laurie, you had a busy day, did you already figured out how your phone works a bit?

To bad Nancy you'll have to wait until September for the NJ Devils to play again. Hope you got the lawn mowed

Trudy did you get the cupboards filled again?

Ow busy day Krysti after such a bad night sleep, I hope you slept better last night!

Ow was it the first time you met Sarita's boyfriend Cynthia? How is he?

That sounds like wonderful weather Phylis, we have sun here too again, only last Friday was a rainy day, just when the kids had a party at school because of the abdication next Tuesday, but they held it inside school.

It looks like it's going to be a sunny vacation here for the boys :). Today the public outside swimmingpool opens its doors again and Ben is ofcourse going with a friend .... brrr a bit too cold yet for my taste but as long as he enjoys it, I'm fine with him going.

Good morning - The sun is out and it will be near 70 today! The lawn is mowed and looks good. Felt good to get it done. Exercise is always good! The I finished the book I was reading. It was really good. It was the continuation of characters from other books by the same author. Going up to my son's for a BBQ. Should be a nice day for sitting outside and just talking. Not much else going on. Came in last in my fantasy hockey league. We were each given a team and while I had good players it was hard to play as they were on teams that I really dislike. LOL Trudy and Phylis as for who I am cheering for I really want in the end the Chicago Blackhawks to win the Stanley Cup. I think they are super talented and fun to watch. I will cheer for any team who beats the Rangers LOL and I will be happy for the Penguins and the Bruins if the win in the east. It is a fun time to just watch good hockey.

Chris glad the concert was good bummer about the tickets. I am not surprised they took her hairspray. Congrats on the pizza GC.

Phylis was nice to hear that your husband went with you and you got the area all fixed up.

Trudy I will be watching the Bruins today. Hope shopping went well!

Kristi what a busy day! Hope you slept well last night

Cynthia sounds like a lovely night out.

Angela have a fun vacation. Our city pools do not open until the end of May. Way too cool for me to go even then.

Have a great day all!

So my plan for the pests for my gardens is to make chickenwire frames placed over the gardens- lightweight and able to be easily removed- hoping they keep birds away as well!

It's okay I laughed too....I try not to get attached to the chickens....they are either gonna be dinner for me or another animal out here in the country....before that one I had lost 2 before that one to a hawk and one to a possum....so yeah....its life in the country I guess LOL

Quickly in and out of here this morning, I am going shopping again today to get a book I should have just picked up yesterday!!:mmph: I hate it when I do that!! I go back and get something that I really should have just gotten in the first place!!!!!

Chris - Hooray for the spring weather!! So happy for you that you won yesterday too!! A great day for you! Too bad that your DD had her ticket mix up and does she always carry around her hairspray??

Laurie - Wow a productive day for you yesterday, how nice that your son did all that work for you! Hope you get a great crop of berries this year!!

Cynthia - You will have to fill us in on the boyfriend news!! Hope that you feel good enough to be back here again today, but don't worry if you can't. Like Chris says just let us know you are ok!!

Angela - Nice that your son can go swimming with a friend!! Yes I did get my cupboards filled up again, but emptied my pocketbook!!

Nancy - Hubby has to watch the bruins on his computer, because the only game that is on the T.V. here today is the Vancouver Canucks , he is not happy!! They better win today or he will be pouting all day again :pout:

Kristy - Glad that you got a better nights sleep last night! Had to laugh about your chicken story too! Sounds like the others had it in for him!! Hope you don't lose anymore to chicken brutality!! LOL

Well hubby is cooking bacon on the BBQ this morning so I best get the eggs on, haven't had bacon for a long time and I really appreciate it when MG cooks it outside! The sun is shining so I hope that after my quick trip back to the store I will get some yard work done. Perhaps a good walk with MG too?? Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Actually Phylis my hubby just cooks it on the side burner of the BBQ in a frying pan or sometimes he uses his griddle that he got for it. So no grease fires, just no smell in my kitchen :becky:
