Ok. I got this. I am not going to complain about how cold it is, I am going to rejoice for the sunshine!
I hope that the sun will help my daffodils and tulips a bit. They don't even have buds on them yet, just straggly stalks. My forsythia looks like it is getting there- although I wish Scott was here this weekend so he could help me cut them back the right way. I also wish he was home to help me take down the Christmas lights since I have to get on a ladder to do it which makes me a bit dizzy from the up and downs.
I think I will clean a bit more inside today and plan on being outside tomorrow since we should hit 60!!

Yesterday, I finally cleaned and dusted our "Disney Cabinet." Back in the day when we had extra money, we collected Disney things and we got a lot as gifts. Every time we went to Disney, we would pick up something new. We have a tall glass display cabinet in the corner of the LR. (You might remember that I scrapped the time that the glass shelves collapsed and destroyed many of the collectibles and water globes? It was disturbing to see decapitated Princesses on my floor!) I probably haven't taken everything out to be cleaned in a few years. It made me smile a lot to see and remember where we got things or the meaning behind them. I think my favorite is a glass block that has the kids' faces lasered into it from when we went in 2002. And the Mickey coin bank that my BFF got Scott when he was born. I think out of everything that I miss since we got sick and lost our income, it is the Disney trips.

That was my big project of the day.
I also tried to work on the Challenge prep but that didn't go so good. I know what I am doing for it, but I can't seem to scrap a page for it. Total scrap block.

Today I think that I am going to clean/dust the bookshelf next to it. The books all need to be taken off and I should decide what I even want to keep. It is mostly cookbooks and who really uses cookbooks since it is easier and faster to search online.

That is about it for me, I hope that you all have a wonderful day!

Nancy- omg- the wind was brutal yesterday! I don't mind the above avg temps but not so crazy about the above avg rain. Lots of HHH days ahead
I haven't had a late for a test dream in a while either. It's funny how some dreams are universal.
Enjoy the game this afternoon, my fingers are crossed that they win!

Trudy- what a lovely day you had outside! Now you have me thinking that I should go out today since it is much easier to pull weeds when the ground is soft.
:jaw:
That painting is gorgeous!!! I adore how the colors just pop!
Must make you so happy that Hunter is such a happy baby. (I wouldn't know, my babies were miserable!)

Felis- Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my mom's favorite movies but I never saw it.

Dogs need to go out, BRB!

heh!! now I have the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" song in my head.

Gary's has looked into getting insulin from Canada but it seems to be the same price. Crazy that people cannot get the meds that they need. :(
I hope that you have a super and relaxing day and get to spend some time outside enjoying your kitties!

xoxo

Good late afternoon - What a crazy day. Got up late almost 9am but because my son was up at 2am-3am with stomach pains and OMgosh he was so dramatic. He moaned and moaned and moaned some more. I know he had a stomach ache but there was nothing I could do. So I am tired! But my DH and I got Luther out to a park and he was deer hunting but we did not see them though he smelled them. Saw red-bellied woodpecker, robins, red-winged blackbirds, mallard pair, and geese pair and an egret. There were some little birds but too high up. I am hoping for more warblers soon. It was a different park in that it is much more isolated with dirt paths so not good for bikes or joggers but good for birds and dog walkers. It was also awesome in that there were several groups doing a park clean up. There were lots of bags of trash. Love seeing kids out doing this. The weather here was awesome. As long as I was moving I was toasty warm but still had to have a coat but not gloves or winter hat! Blue skies. Just gorgeous. Everything is starting to really bloom. I am feeling spring is coming. Now for hockey updates. Last night was crazy - all three games had teams that were up 3-1. Only the Winnipeg Jets were able to win and they won big 5-0 over the Wild. So great to see that team win and succeed after such a long time! But then the Flyers defeated the Penguins to send it to a game six LOL. Crosby was stopped from scoring and tying the game with 50 secs left in the game. After that the Flyers just closed it out. Then the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Nashville Predators to send the teams back to Colorado for a game 6. The Preds got too offensive at the end of the game and allowed 2-1 and the Avs scored for a 2-1 win. So if those teams can do it it gives me hope that the Devils can too. My son called to say that he is making ribs and to come watch the game at his place. Right on! I will know by 6pm my time if I get another game.

Chris yes you must love the sun and the heat will follow - have some fun outside. The dogs will be so happy! It is wonderful when our keepsakes can bring back such lovely memories.

Trudy how fun to have such good talks with Hunter. It must be so rewarding to see how well Heather is doing! Those boys sound precious! To be able to keep up with them from so far sure makes it easier. Have fun painting

Felis I love the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. And the song is one of my favorites. I am glad you finally watched it. There are lots of classics that are so amazing compared to some of the movies made these days.

Rae and Jean waving hi!

Have a great day all!

Hello girls,
Finally I start to rearrange my wardrobe and I'm half done. We are planed the Spring cleaning for this weekend. And it's turn well, but To do list is long! It is in big part rearranging of the house and packaging of the winter stuff, but also much laundry. My mom was so nice to offer she to spray against the fleas, which is HUGE support, because the poison is strong and no one like to do this. In some days we act so good as a team that even surprise me :) . Continued tomorrow and I hope with the same mood!

Chris, yay, for you having good weather finally! My tulips start to wither now and I'm not even scrap them yet, but have a pics, so I'm not disappointed. It was lovely colorful week in bloom. And now is turn to the lilacs. Hope Scott to can help you at the some of the nearest days and both to have much fun! Like you I also have to give up some of the mine books, but to sell it online is too slow, and the local library don't want them, because they had a list only with books necessary for a school, which mine aren't. They are modern novels. It's a small building (with rude librarians, as every regular civil servant here). My sister left her on a bench, like Emma Watson did in her Instagram, but I seriously doubt that this work in my country. It have some places on the capital where people sell used books, I can give it to them, but this place is far away than your usual area, so will have to plan separate travel. And I still procrastinate this. Oh, ho good to have this kind of collection! Except when have to clean it ;) , but I really love this kind of things! Memories keepers! Sad that some of them are been broken.

Nancy, omg, I hope your son is fine! It wasn't something serious that needs surgery, I hope! Moms always worried for their child, no matter from the age, so I can imagine your panic! This more isolated park sounds lovely place! Have fun with the games watching! My sister's friend have collection of classic movies and she is offer her to give it sometimes. I'm also glad I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's! I really really love this final scene!

Trudy, Jean and Rae, hugs and kisses to you all, and I'm left personal notes yesterday.

It looks like it is going to be a *beautiful* day today!!! Sunny and 60*!!!! :whoo: I plan on spending lots of time outside.

I had a productive day yesterday. I took all of the books off of the bookshelf and there were so much dust and cobwebs that I kept sneezing my head off. I put a bunch of cooking magazines into recycling and a box of decent books set aside to see if they can be donated to the library. They have book sales to raise money, usually in the spring or maybe a local church is having rummage sales. I have really hard time throwing things out.
When the kids were little, we used to have "Theme Nights" where we would pick out a movie to watch, then decorate the LR and cook foods for that theme. I have a "Silly Snacks" cookbook that I used for ideas and Caitlyn and I had a blast looking at the recipes that we made. We had a Harry Potter theme night and we made "magic Wands" (pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate and sprinkles) and a "Crystal Ball" (a cream cheese and cheddar cheese ball). Man, we had a lot of fun back then. :D

It was sort of warm outside so I cleaned the leaves out from the patio planter. We have two blueberry bushes in it that I hope made it through the winter. They never produced any fruit last year but maybe they will this summer. If I can, my goal is to move some lilies from the side garden or some of the liriope in the front garden to the edge of my yard by the road. Maybe that will keep some of the dogs who walk on the street to stay off of my lawn. Some dog owners are kind of rude. I get that you can't keep your dogs from peeing on spots on the road, but keep them off of the lawns, for cripes sake.

I am still struggling with the challenge prep and I have to rework the entire thing.
ugh.
I hate it when I lose all creativity. Maybe some time in nature will get it going again.

Nancy- What a lovely walk you and DH and Luther had. Did you get to take him out yesterday too?
You will laugh at this, Brendan had some extra time between jobs yesterday afternoon, so he and Caitlyn took the rats (in their carrier) to get ice cream and sat by the lake with them. I think the "it's finally spring" feeling got to everyone :D
I hope that the Devils played great too. And if not, I bet you had a fun afternoon at DS's house watching the game together anyway.

Felis- I know it isn't really "exciting" but how awesome to go through your closets and house and do some spring cleaning. It does make me feel better to get rid of the cobwebs and junk too. We still have nothing blooming although my BFFATS has one small daffodil open which makes me jealous to see.;)

Nancy- how is your DS's stomach? Did he eat any romaine?

Hugs to all of you who stop in!

Morning ladies... I was MIA yesterday as it was another busy Saturday! We ran errands and grocery shopped, went to Canadian Tire to pick up a few things and then watched the Bruins lose to the Maple Leafs at supper time :mmph: Oh well hopefully they will act like they care about winning the next game. If not then they will be out of the finals. Not the way we had hoped the game would go yesterday, but oh well we can't control who wins. Today we bottle a white Zinfandel and then we will spend the rest of the day outside as it is a beautiful sunny day and the temps are supposed to warm up a bit. :bliss:

Chris - I am so happy for you that it will be a lovely sunny day for you finally!! I bet it felt good to get the dusting done and to clean out some of your stash of books. Always fun to go through some old memories too! Hoping that your blueberry bushes produce some fruit this year! I used to have a great garden when we lived in Sask. but now we have such wonderful farm markets to go to that I just can't be bothered, besides there is too many other things to do in the yard anyway. LOL. Just gettting lazy I guess. Have a wonderful day outside in your garden! Thank you for the nice compliment on my painting!

Nancy - I hope that the BBQ at your son's made up for the Devil's loss last night :sorry: our team did not do well either and now we are worried that they won't win this next game either. Hope you can all get out for another lovely walk with Luther today and sure hope your son is feeling much better!

Felis - Thank you also for the nice complement on my painting! It was nice to spend some relaxing time just painting, however not much else got done around here LOL. Hope your spring cleaning is going well and you find somewhere to take your stash of old books!

Ok DH is giving me the evil eye to get off the computer and help wash the wine bottles out so we can fill them again with delicious White Zinfandel! Have a great Sunday everyone!

good day! beautiful day and will walk Luther later. he is now taking a nap after going to the dog park and chasing a little dog for about 45 min. Luther loves to run and he loves to chase so he was a happy dog. I was sleeping late at the hockey was on late. My team played what I thought was their best game and lost 3-1. But it was okay because the better team won. My goalie stood on his head and that gives me confidence for next year. It will be fun hoping they can improve but all the teams that were to make the playoffs this year that did not will try to improve so that means they have to improve so we will see. This was fun and the team learned how hard it really is just to make the playoffs and then to win in the playoffs. My coach finally played the team that started the season as they were finally all healthy. It made me happy. And being at my son's with all that love the Devils as much as I do was totally fun too. And the food was delicious. He really does know how to smoke ribs. Now today is just watch more hockey and fun Hallmark romance LOL. Have you all heard of the romaine lettuce scare. Well it is said to have begun in the Yuma Arizona area and that is where I grew up. Who knew it would make the news in such a way! They said the growing season is over so that should end the problem.

Chris yes spring fever is getting us all. Finally! How fun that must have been to see the rats and the kids at the lake! I need to get rid of some stuff for sure. It would make me feel better.

Trudy have fun bottling. Then that wine will be there. I think that Boston will be just fine. Their goalie just stole one game. I am like you in that I don't want to garden when their are others that do a much better job than me.

Felis my son is fine. It was just a stomach thing but he behaves like sometimes it is much worse. He is what my DH and I term a hypochondriac. He is such that when something is wrong it is always the worst possible thing that is wrong. But I love that he always goes and gets it checked out. A lot of men don't and should. He does not eat salads so I know it is not that. LOL. Thanks for caring.

Waving hi to Jean and Rae!

Yesterday was something different. It was the day the computer genealogy group meets at a library. It opens at 9:00 and we set up until starting the meeting at 9:30. We have activities until 2:00. But yesterday I arrived at 9:01 getting one of a dwindling number of parking spaces as people park at the library using nearby facilities. I was surprised to see a number of our people outside the doors and two police cars parked. When I got out of my car, the people were heading around toward the back of the library. Turned out the doors had been damaged by an apparent attempt to break in. At first there was hope we could go in the back and have our meeting, but that didn't happen and the police had to process the scene. We considered cancelling but dithered and kept waiting. It was sunny but chilly standing around until 10:23 when they opened. So we did have the meeting and only a couple of members left before we got in. We had a recorded webinar as the first item and when it finished it was almost noon so we did lunch next. After lunch we could either have done our program user groups or my afternoon session. They asked for my talk, so we ended in normal fashion but missed user groups to the hour+ delay. Certainly gave us something to talk about. It was interesting when we told people coming by what was going on and getting their reaction: "Breaking into the LIBRARY?" None of us understand why anyone would try breaking into a library. Even though they have plenty of computers, they aren't laptops or that valuable or easy to sell. Nothing else would have value enough to warrant a break in. It isn't even just vandalism as nothing was damaged other than at the doors. :der:

Today is beautiful, sunny and fairly warm. I was out for a bit enjoying it. Maybe do some birding tomorrow after DH gets home from H&S.

Felis, that spring cleaning and all sounds really good. You and the animals will all be enjoying your freedom of the outdoors. Maybe those of us who've been complaining of the cold are about to join you in spring weather.

Chris, you are starting to talk about doing things that either you enjoy or at least enjoy the results like cleaning and sorting the books. Love the picture I have of C & B taking the rats on an outing. And those theme snacks must have been fun but you guys still have fun times with nostalgic movies and games.

Trudy, that white Zinfandel sounds good. I mostly don't drink wine anymore but when I do, I tend to like a good red Zin. Thanks for sharing the painting. I love the rich colors with the dark background. So rewarding to be painting again I bet. We are pulling for the Bruins to win this!

Nancy, so sorry the Devils were eliminated! I know you weren't surprised and have the satisfaction of a win and some good play. Enjoy watching the rest of the playoffs. Watching at DS's sounded like a good time. With the warming weather it will be fun getting out with Luther and there will be more and more migrant birds too.

Rae, hoping you got to relax some over the weekend.

Hello girls,
the bigger things from the Spring cleaning was done, and now I have little tasks during the week. (Oh and still half of my closet.) I find for refreshing any form of cleaning not exactly of the space, but of the energy, so it definitely worth it. The autumn cleaning make house more cosy, while the spring opened more space. But actually it's boring process and not have much to share.

Jean, oh, such a strange day you are had! I'm happy that this case didn't cancelled your afternoon session! I'm not surprised that people are preferred your talk, you always sounds so well prepared. I guess these damaged doors without steal or vandalism is some kind of strange teenage bet or so?! I would be very happy if you all can finally moved to the spring weather! I was told this to Chris but I suspect that you will go direct on a Summer.

Nancy, I'm relief that your son is fine, because your description sounded really serious. Oh, I totally understand this fear that when something is wrong is must be the worst option, but actually it's good that he is go to check it, prevention is save more lives than treatment. So the son with the barbecue party is the other one?! Sounds like you are had much fun, even with the disappointing from the game. :sorry:

Trudy, have fun with bottling wine! I'm not a fan of a wine, but the cheese are other thing. Hope you had a warm afternoon and can make small degustation of wine and cheese outside! Did Heather and her husband's date on a concert is went well?

Chris, you must be some flower fairy, because the warm weather gives you enthusiasm, like on a flower. I'm glad to see you at this way! Your daughter is just gorgeous person and crazy too (as you, and in the good meaning of the word), rats by the lake it's in the same time romantic and ridiculous view. I'm not sure why but this reminds me for this knight mouse from the animation ''The Tale of Despereaux'', I can imagine someone like him seating by the lake. Library to make book sales to raise money, this is brilliant! I don't know why institution here are so lazy, but they don't do such a things.
