'morning, all. the date is making me nervous. i keep thinking that something is going to blow up. i'm not optimistic by nature. we even have a hockey star in my town who is due to return to the ice after a long absence, and he doesn't want to do it today!

my husband is home today because of DR. appointments. wonder if we'll still be speaking by the end of the day! :argue: i am SO doggoned territorial about MY house during the day. no men should be in it!! i've already tripped over him in the kitchen TWICE this morning!

well, this day looks made for a venture OUT. the weather is cold, windy and gray and i'll probably be blown right off the big hill where the Mall is as soon as i get out of the car, but off i go.

Morning peeps!

I've always heard of 11 as being the 'angel' number. I see it as a good number.

Things just kind of shifted around yesterday and I never got my walk or to Costco. I was finally going to go in the evening but it got colder and with a windy rain. Now the night to feel like going out to me. I stayed in and watched a PBS movie on Dick's iPad. Where Soldiers Come From. Amazingly enough, it wasn't variable in our area via computer but was available via the PBS iPad up...through yesterday. A sobering movie that really reminded me as one of the moms said of ...The Deerhunter. Another generation, another hard scrabble town, another war. Sigh.

What does my day look like? a walk, and finally a trip to Costco. I have two near me - each 20-25 miles away - but one has Wegmans next to it. Since I'm ordering glasses, I think, I will prob pick the one near Wegmans so I can go there when the glasses come in. We leave for Hilton Head tomorrow so I don't need much in the way of groceries. hmmm...wonder if they have their turkeys on sale? I'm going to get a frozen one and have it cut in half. That way I can brine it fairly easily. Cheapest price here is 54c a lb for frozen turkeys. That's a deal.

Phylis you are a riot! Hoping only good things happen today......I am home waiting for the mechanic to work on the car, hoping it gets fixed and I don't have to stress about it anymore.
 
Well, I've been on the run all day - getting nothing done - other than talking to people. Which is fine - I just wish people could spread out over the week - everyone seems to want my company on Fridays LOL

11-11-11 - read that there's many getting married today. Good for the husbands I guess - they'll bound to remember the anniversaries in future LOL
 
happy elfte elfte elfte! :D We've been freezing through the day so far, our lingering fall finally decided to go cold and grey, no icy and grey. It feels like snow, except it's too wet...this is disappointing ONLY because tonight is the latern-parade at Kindergarten. In fact, we're off in another 30 mins or so to help set things up before the kids take off and march around singing St. Martin songs. it's always a challenge to get decent photos...

So anyway, i wish it were warmer!!! happy day to you all!

Eva - that's funny about today being a good day for the husbands' to remember as a wedding date. I let my husband pick the date, that way he'd have no excuse if he forgot. So far so good.

We got about 9 inches of snow on Tuesday and it is still piled up everywhere. I guess I need to see about removing it from the walkway so people that come by won't have to fight their way through a huge drift. Or maybe not. Lol. I recently moved back to my hometown in the mountains, after living 10 years in the desert, and I am LOVING the cooler weather. Desert sunsets can't be beat, since you can see for miles, but I sure prefer the mountain scenery.

HEHE!!! Sharon is off work today..so she is home with Savannah, and she came and got Jaiden for a couple of hours for me....aaahhhhhh.........


Anyway...I am going to go eat lunch with Cameran before I pick up Jaiden...probably my only chance all year.

IT IS STINKIN COOOOOOOLD HERE TODAY!! the wind is horrible!! it is gusting up to 50 mph!!!!

Morning all... A special day as it is remembrance day for us today and we pause for a moment of silence every year at the 11th hr on the 11th day of the 11th month and now it is 2011 so it is even more special. And as usual it is :rain: today. Poor hubby is worried about getting his stetson damaged by the rain LOL. for those who don't know my hubby is a proud member of the RCMP and marches every year in the parade for the vets. Here is a photo of him in parade a couple of years ago.

Phylis - I know what you mean about the guys being in your territory, they sure can be in the way!!! Try not to kill your hubby today...deep breaths !

Maureen - I agree, I think that 11 11 11 is a good thing and lots getting married on this day, although next year is the last chance for great numbers to be married on 12 12 12 . Just saying.

Debbie, Donna, Frani, Amber and Eva - I hope you have a wonderful day!! I gotta run and get ready for the parade. :wave:

Morning everyone!!!

Today is a VERY special day since it is my darling baby boy's 14th birthday!!! Isn't that fun???? I only kinda wish he were turning 11 today, but alas, I'll put up with 14!! LOL!!!

With that, I'm off to clean up the house and see what other trouble I can get into!!!

Hey Sally - my baby will be 14 in 10 days. Hard to believe - feels like he was born just yesterday :)
 
Hi all! Today is Remembrance Day here so DH is off work...it's nice because he's already had the kids cleaning up! I think today's date is kinda cool and my SIL had her very first baby this morning! (He was 10lbs 1oz...almost fits with the numbers!)

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day!
 
What a date! I had to sign in at an office this morning, looked at the clock and it was 11:11! I hope it means something special. Meanwhile it is Veteran's Day here, a time to remember. Also had our first snow though I think it's gone now.
 
Opps....meant to include you too Trudy in that congrats! What a beautiful sight those men are. You should be proud! They and that image are so iconic in the US, it's hard for me to remember some times that it's a real job.

As a sidenote - anyone know why my new avatar isn't working? I uploaded the one with the CheeryO frame, but I'm still seeing the old pic. Ideas? or is it just me...?
 
Hey Stef - I just looked and your cheery-O photo is set as your profile pic, not your avatar pic. Go to USER CP up at the top left under where it will say "daily OOOs" and you;ll see it there. You can change your avatar in there.
