Have to ask: are there no laws in th US about commercials? I see some on Youtube & there are blatant lies in them. If a company would do that in Sweden they would get into so much trouble. Just curious.

Oh yeah, you can say just about anything in commercials. There are laws about making fraudulent claims but I think it has to be waaaaay over the top for anyone to notice or care.

I bet you don't get a ton of commercials for medicines either. Every other commercial is for some new Rx. They have to state the side effects of the medicine and it makes me laugh- This new fantastic world-changing and life-saving medicine may cause: liver failure, kidney failure, cancer, diabetes, tingling and numbness of the fingers and toes, incontinence, blisters, and rash.

We only get commercials about over-the-counter meds here. Like pain killers, cough syrup, and right now 2 million a day: pollen allergy meds.

What I reacted tomthis time: how the H*** can Hello Fresh claim that it's cheaper than if you go to the store yourself & shop? No way that could be true!? If so, why would the service even exist? I get all the other arguments about it being convenient, time saving, and easy to prep, but never that it's cheaper.

It's probably literally true IF you go to Whole Foods and buy the most expensive items and have to purchase all the seasonings every time. But that's not how real shopping works.

For marketing, it's all in the wording. Advertisers are so sneaky about misleading and lying. I never believe any commercials. I look at commercials as entertainment for Remi. She loves the pet store commercials and will howl and talk to the tv while they play. At least the commercials are good for something :)

For real! I thought about asking for a 3-month subscription as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. Even with all of the discounts/free meals, it was so much more expensive than if I sucked it up and made the same meals from scratch. So much more. Needless to say, I never asked for it because it was way out of any gift price range
