I was wondering if anyone knows of a kit in the store that contains Texas Bluebonnets. I'm open to any style of the flower from sticker, hand drawn, silk or real. Thanks.

I wasn't sure what they looked like so I just Googled them, what pretty flowers! From a distance they look like a short lupin growing the field with purply-blue and white/cream flowers.

While I couldn't find anything specific, typing in blue flowers does bring up 75 pages of products. I did have a quick look through and did find some kind of 'look-a-likes' that could be passed off if they were recoloured, like this one from Anja of A Whimsical Adventure.

You could also look through the brushes category in the store.

Another idea is use a stock photo, like the one I posted above from Pixabay, and extract parts of the flowers and apply some type of Photoshop filter to it? I did this quickly by duplicating the photo layer, using a sketch effect on one of the layers, then used a layer mask to mask out the bits I didn't want, next I clipped the colour copy to it and toned down the colour a bit.

You would end up with this type of effect? Not sure what type of effect you are after but it might get you started with your own ideas. :)

Hope this helps in some way. :)

@wombat146 Thanks, Ona. I hadn't seen that Vintage Flora kit with the foxglove, and it went into my wish list. You are correct that a bluebonnet is a variation of lupin/lupine.

I admit that I am not very good at recoloring items - they never look right, and bluebonnets are a fairly intense hue, but I do appreciate your idea of finding a closeup on a freebie photo site and trying my hand at altering it.

I just tried more specific Oscraps store searches on "lupine," "violet," "blue botanical" and "botanical brush" and that did narrow the selection from blue flower (which is what I had tried earlier as well). So. Many. Gorgeous. Kits. And of course, way too many just went into my Wish List. I will need to go through them a little more carefully again to see what I can substitute for the bluebonnets. I will also wait a couple of days because maybe someone else will see this request and guide me to a matching kit. That bloom color isn't really something that I even have represented in my kit papers and backgrounds. Is it blue? Is it purple?

ALSO, I remember a few years ago there was a lady on ScrapGirls asking for a kit with bluebonnets. Maybe a bluebonnet themed kit would be something for one of the designers to think about creating? That deep purplish-blue hue and white center with broad, green leaves could make for a gorgeous kit. It is the Texas state flower, with festivals and even trails where the best bluebonnet fields can be viewed. @AimeeHarrison @Anja DD (I hope you two designers don't mind that I tagged you, but I know that you do botanical kits within specific flower themes. Others do as well, such as Christine Art, Lynne Anzelc and et designs, but I didn't know how to tag them). Oooh, wouldn't State Flower / National Flower themed kits be interesting?
