Ask the Font Doc!

I assure you I've received my degree from an accredited university. Just don't ask what the degree is in!!!!! ROTFL

Sara LOL
I love to play with fonts on some specific pages before I achieve what I want, but I tend to use the same 4 or 5 ones in most of my pages ...

I'm glad you guys like it!!!

We'll need more volunteers though, so keep your eyes, ears, and layouts peeled. :-)

I too loved the blog post. I also love fonts but don't have quite the expertise (or number of fonts!) that you do, Sara. I always liked font challenges in the past in part because once I visited a site to get the font I'd rummage around looking at others. Inevitably I'd wind up with more.

Keep up the series!

Thank you Jean, love getting the feedback!

So Sara, do you have an iPhone? If so, can you tell me what font is used in the Notes app? I love it.

OK, instead of being lazy I just googled it and found you can not only see it, but change it, in settings.

It's called Noteworthy :-) I really love the simple clean and whimsical look of it.

Hmmm, looks like it is not possible to find a free version.
Any advice, font doc??

I do have one. I am a Mac-head. We have all Macs in my district, so my two laptops (one from each job) are Macs. I have an iPhone (after starting with a Droid), two iPads (one from each job), an iPod, and an Apple TV!!

I believe the font is called Noteworthy. I will rummage around for a substitute!

All right...The Font Doc has researched the trouble and has diagnosed the following:
Noteworthy is being protected by Apple. You won't be able to purchase it.

Here are a few alternatives, though they are not perfect. No one seems to make the capital A like a lowercase like the Noteworthy font does. But these are close:

Free ones:
Passing Notes
Chocolate Covered Raindrops
Cinnamon Cake
Jack Story
Georgia Belle
Diamond Girl

Inexpensive Paid fonts:
LD Cool
LD Hand
LD Shelly Print

Expensive paid fonts that are really, really close:
Filmotype Brooklyn
Filmotype Candy

wow, I am impressed, Dr. Font! Yes, I pretty quickly found that Apple is protecting Noteworthy also.

But I like the others, especially Chocolate Colored Raindrops...I think I will give that one a try.

Now I need a layout to go with it...ha ha!

I liked Cinnamon Cake. (but then I have no Apple products so haven't seen Noteworthy.) Downloaded it -- plus three others I saw of other types.
