What's a grift book?I have done project like in the past to make grift books. Now I just do my regular pages and have them printed through Chatbooks.
I felt like it wasn't worth paying for a book for just 12 pages.I used to do pages for once a month, but I stopped. I called it Project 12.
Hi friends, I have made a family yearbook every year since 2015. I use pocket scrapbooking templates and then choose a kit for each month so that each month looks different. It’s usually around 200 pages when it’s all done and I print it out on blurb when they have their 40% off sale. I just posted the cards I use and the templates I use to see if they would be helpful for any one else. I’m thinking about adding monthly currently pages. Have you ever added anything special for the month that you loved. A friend just posted Simple layouts she made for the whole year on every book she read, I thought that was awesome.
Hi Susie,I've never shopped on blurb? what's the prices like? I use Shutterfly!
Oh, I didn't - I worked the pages in with whatever book that was current. Sometimes, I had several pages for each month, though.I felt like it wasn't worth paying for a book for just 12 pages.
That's really cool - and. your siggie is so beautiful!!I've done three 365 projects in the past. One for each kid, but since they are also digital, all kids can have all 3 albums.
I really enjoyed doing it, but I don't think I will ever do it again. I did a photo a day and wrote a little story with each photo.
I do like the idea of scrapping about a book I've read. I'm going to think about that.
Hi Susie,
There website isn't the best and you have to download a bookcreator when you make it, but the quality is great and because they run the 40% often and they are cheaper than shutterfly for extra pages it makes sense for us to use them - https://www.blurb.com/pricing#/. Unfortunately they don't have 10x10in only 12x12. Our disneybooks and babybooks are from shutterfly. Have you found templates that you like to scrap the year? I was wondering what you are looking for exactly ( I know about 5 pictures per page, but do you like journaling space and other design elements in the template or mostly just the picture spots, could I make some for you as a thank you for all you do?
Hi Susie, Your 2020 album is so wonderful, I love that you used clusters through out and it made it cohesive and beautiful. Mine looks more utilitarian and I use regular Project life templates with not as much adornment, but I would like to do that. I have this fun template maker that can really make lots of templates like the ones in your Project 2020 album. It's from Mommyish - https://the-lilypad.com/store/CU-Pocket-Template-Maker-2.html so I can make some for you, but also you could get it and probably make a whole bunch exactly like you want them!I haven't decided how I am going to do my book this year. I do want it to be 10x10 because that's the size that all of them are, so I guess Blurb is out. I've been pretty satisfied with Shutterfly. I wait until they have the unlimited photo book pages deal before I print it out.
I did not use O products this past year for mine, so I can't post one here, but I can send you to a link to show you what I have done in the past...
Project 52 2022
There are just too many slots for pictures with the templates I have been using. There are two pages for each week, and 10-20 photo slots per week. I tried to just do the left side pages that have a date range on them and it looked funny and had to move around the elements. I found myself sticking memes and filler pictures that didn't mean as much as photos.
This is my book that I used more pocket type scrapping and just one page per week:
Project 52 2020
I am aiming to go back to something like that.
You're so sweet to offer to make some templates!! I'm just not sure what I'm going to do yet. I know it will be pictures, dates, stickers or elements and journaling.
