My name is Amy and I'll be your host for the Font Challenge this month.
When I was growing up, fonts and typography fascinated me. I would study the billboards as we were driving along and intently examine the shapes and movement of the letters. My dad was a tech writer and worked on laying out car owners manuals. He would bring home huge binders of samples of typeset and I would spend hours inspecting them with intense curiosity.
Mixing fonts in the title work can serve to bring drama and emphasis to your content.
One of my all time favorite combinations for title work is:
Title: Mountain Script ( Free Font HERE)
Subtitle: Balehome (Free Font HERE)
For this month's Font Challenge, let's combine these two fonts, one as a title and one as a subtitle, and create a custom title.
Here is my Layout:
Layout uses Full of Life by Carol W, and Audacious Masks by Laitha
Now it's your turn!
I hope you enjoy playing with fonts!
- Please make a layout using the above referenced fonts for your Title and Subtitle
- Please use both fonts. You pick which to use for your title and which to use for your subtitle.
- You may embellish/layer/style/overlap/blend them any way you like - but the fonts need to be recognizable.
- Journaling is not required, but if you do choose to include it, please use one of the above fonts.
- You may use templates. If the template has title work already in it, please replace it with the fonts for this challenge.
- Please use 80% Oscraps products that are currently in the store.
- Non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not.
- You need to credit all the products used on your layout.
- You need to credit the source of any photo(s) as per Gallery Guidelines
- Your layout can not be used for more than one challenge.
- Your page must be posted in the Challenge 2 gallery by midnight PST April 30th, 2025 and linked back to this thread (see below on how to add your linked layout).
- And do not forget to update the CURRENT MONTH'S TRACKING THREAD to be eligible for your coupon.
Adding a linked layout from the Gallery to a thread:
1. Upload your layout to the gallery first. In your forum post click the Gallery Embed icon (little camera).
2. This will open your gallery, simply click on the layout you require, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.
3. Your linked layout is now in your post, the image will appear once you have clicked the Post Reply button.
